What is Taikoo Hui Guangzhou?

What is Taikoo Hui Guangzhou?

If you are looking for the absolute top-tier luxury shopping destination in Guangzhou, Taikoo Hui (廣州太古匯) is it. I have walked through pretty much every major mall in Guangzhou, and while newer spots like K11 try to capture the trendy art crowd, nothing touches Taikoo Hui when it comes to true high-end retail.

A unique thing about Guangzhou is that locals are famously practical; they generally don't camp out for luxury items. Because of this, while mid-range neighboring malls like Grandview and Tee Mall are packed to the point of being overwhelming, Taikoo Hui stays relatively quiet. It feels spacious and exclusive.

Since many luxury boutiques limit the number of people inside at one time, you actually get a calm shopping experience. Even if you aren't buying anything, the modern, clean architecture makes it a great place to walk around and take photos.
