Exchanging for a Pass at the station is quite convenient. You need to bring your original passport. It works the same as a regular ticket. If you want a reserved seat, you need to reserve a seat at the station. This is relatively economical for the Great Wall and for those with a tight schedule, but you can only save money if you have a seat reserved.

The JR pass can be used for transportation in the Furano area, and it comes in handy when the Suica card isn't accepted. It also allows you to easily purchase reserved seats at counters, saving a lot of money! Highly recommended!

It's very convenient. Just bring your passport to exchange it. The start date is the day you exchange it. If you need reserved seats, just use your pass to enter the station after making your reservation at the machine. If you don't want to queue, you can just enter the station directly. For unreserved seats, just enter the station directly; there's no need to waste time waiting for the machine.

For reserved seats, it is inconvenient that the ticket has to be taken a day in advance before 2100 at particular station.
