HZMB Shuttle Bus (Golden Bus): Hong Kong to Zhuhai Budget Option

HZMB Shuttle Bus (Golden Bus): Hong Kong to Zhuhai Budget Option

The HZMB shuttle bus (widely known as the "Golden Bus") is the most popular low-cost crossing option, traveling across the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Route & Step-by-Step Boarding & Clearance Guide

The most common route from downtown Hong Kong is via MTR and feeder bus:

  1. Take the MTR to Sunny Bay Station, and exit through Exit A.
  2. Follow the on-site signs for Citybus Route B5 to reach the dedicated bus stop.
  3. Board Route B5 to HZMB Hong Kong Port. The ride takes roughly 20 minutes, with a fare of around 6.1 HKD. Alipay and WeChat Pay are generally accepted on this feeder service.
  4. Upon arrival at Hong Kong Port, enter the terminal building, turn left, and proceed to the passenger departure clearance area. Scan your Mainland Travel Permit (港澳通行证) or passport at the e-gates to complete Hong Kong exit immigration.
  5. After clearance, purchase your shuttle bus ticket at self-service vending machines (usually cheaper than booking via official WeChat accounts) or staffed counters. The standard fare for the Zhuhai route is around 65 HKD per person; both Alipay and WeChat Pay are accepted.
  6. When boarding, confirm the service is bound for Zhuhai — separate routes operate for Zhuhai and Macau from the same port.
  7. The cross-bridge ride takes approximately 40 minutes, arriving at HZMB Zhuhai Port. You will then go through mainland China entry immigration before exiting the terminal.

Schedule & Frequency

  • The shuttle bus typically runs 24 hours a day under normal operations.
  • Daytime (06:00–23:59): departures every 5–10 minutes in off-peak conditions.
  • Nighttime (00:00–05:59): departures every 15–30 minutes.
  • Walk-up tickets are usually available, but pre-booking via the official "港珠澳大桥穿梭巴士" WeChat account can help reduce wait times during peak periods.

Key Notes

  • Each passenger is generally allowed 1 piece of checked luggage plus 1 small carry-on. Extra or oversized luggage may be subject to additional fees or refused.
  • From HZMB Zhuhai Port, you can take a taxi (roughly 8km to Gongbei Port), local bus or metro to reach downtown Zhuhai or the Gongbei area.

Direct Cross-Border Coach: Hong Kong to Zhuhai

Price & Schedule

  • Fares generally range from 90 to 240 RMB, depending on pickup and drop-off locations.

Cross-Border Documents & Tips for HK to Zhuhai

This is an older five-star hotel, so some of the facilities are a bit dated. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good, and it's super convenient for dining with a commercial area right downstairs. I specifically chose a hotel with a pool, but it was absolutely packed with people – all taking swimming lessons from outside, not many hotel guests at all. It was so crowded I couldn't even swim. For a five-star hotel to outsource its facilities like that, it really detracts from the guest experience. If I had known, I would have picked a different, newer hotel.

Pros: Hardware & Rooms: The hotel is not new, but it was recently renovated. Facilities meet standards well. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, and our request for a room with a bathtub was fulfilled. Cleanliness: Satisfactory hygiene and cleanliness standards. Cons (Software/Service falls short of 5-star standard): Inconvenient Rooftop Bar: The rooftop bar could have been a highlight, but it surprisingly doesn't open every day. During our 2-night stay, it was closed on Day 1, and heavy rain on Day 2 forced us to abandon the idea altogether. Lack of Staff Training: Staff lack basic knowledge and professionalism. When asked about the location of the Cross-Boundary Shuttle Bus (which is right next to the connected mall), the staff simply said they didn't know instead of checking or helping. Inconvenient Food Delivery: No room delivery robots. Guests must pick up food deliveries at the lobby concierge. There are no clear signs, making it confusing to find the pickup spot. Poor Service Attitude: At the lobby ice cream/waffle counter, I asked about the closing time. The staff dismissively replied, ”Closing very soon, and I still have 4 customers waiting.” She completely avoided answering the question, giving the impression she just wanted to rush off work. Slow & Unhelpful Staff: Overall, the service is slow, inefficient, and unhelpful toward guests. Final Verdict: Due to these software and service shortcomings, we were left unhappy with our experience and disappointed with the Hyatt 5-star brand. We will not consider staying at this hotel again in the future.

This time, I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in Zhuhai. I've traveled extensively and stayed in many different hotels, but the InterContinental remains my favorite, especially for its unobstructed view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. I was a bit disappointed not to catch the sunrise this morning, but the view truly is unbeatable. The breakfast spread was incredibly generous, and the executive lounge offers not only afternoon tea but also evening happy hour, with all the food being delicious. I want to give a special shout-out to Doris. I remember her name because we were in and out of the executive lounge quite a bit. My husband and I enjoy staying active, so whenever we're at a hotel, we spend most of our time around and within the hotel, doing things like working out and swimming. This meant frequent visits to the executive lounge for drinks or to ask questions. Doris was consistently enthusiastic and helpful in answering all our inquiries. Today, when we checked out, she even went out of her way to make me an orange-C Americano. So, next time I'm in Zhuhai, I'll definitely choose the InterContinental again. Thank you again, Doris!

The front desk staff proactively upgraded my room, and the view was stunning—I could see the port hall and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. The breakfast was quite rich; even for someone as picky as me, it was very satisfying. After checking out, I forgot some beef in the fridge, and the front desk kindly called to remind me.

Planning a trip to Macau, I decided to break up the journey with a stay at the Zhuhai Hengqin Starryland Camp, and it turned out to be an amazing choice! I stayed for several days and the experience was absolutely fantastic, earning it a full five stars. This high-end resort, nestled amidst forests and mountains, was a delightful surprise. The camp is set against a picturesque backdrop of hills and water, surrounded by lush greenery. From my window, I had stunning views of the lake and mountains. The air was fresh and peaceful, offering a much-needed respite from the weariness of travel. The accommodation perfectly blends a wild, natural feel with luxurious quality. The facilities are top-notch, on par with a high-star hotel. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities. The resort grounds are expansive, offering plenty of scenic spots for beautiful photos, and strolling around was incredibly relaxing. Its location is excellent, providing convenient access to Macau, making it an ideal stopover for a break. The staff were all very warm, attentive, and responsive to any needs. It's truly the best choice for a cross-border stopover, offering both the healing power of nature and the comfort and convenience of a star-rated hotel. My short stay here was incredibly rewarding, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Traveling to Macao and Chimelong with my family, we decided to stay at the Xiangjiang Vick Hotel, and it was a fantastic experience. At this price point, it definitely deserves a 5-star rating! The transportation is incredibly convenient; it's close to Gongbei Port, about a 15-minute walk, or you can take a bus right outside for just two stops, making border crossing to Macao super easy. For Zhuhai Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, I recommend taking a Didi (ride-sharing app), which costs around 30-40 yuan. We spent half a day strolling and digging in the sand by the beach, which was absolutely delightful. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the hotel-recommended traditional dim sum place was delicious. Plus, it's only a few minutes' drive to the high-speed train station and Zhuhai Airport terminal, making it perfect whether you're catching a train or a flight. The room layout is well-designed, spacious, and comfortable, and it even has a bathtub – a relaxing soak after a long day was wonderful. The hotel service was also excellent; the housekeeping auntie was kind and friendly, and the front desk staff were great too, even giving us a small gift at check-out. Highly recommend staying here!

The hotel was impeccably clean, and toiletries were well-stocked. The bathroom featured a convenient wet and dry separation. There was ample parking available in the resort area. This five-star hotel truly lives up to its name, and I absolutely have to commend the Guest Relations Ambassador! Ricy provided thoughtful guidance and responded immediately to any request, even late at night, showing genuine care. I initially thought it was a rotating shift system, but it turned out to be during their off-duty hours. They paid attention to daily necessities, had a kind and natural demeanor, and provided meticulous service that was both professional and warm. They patiently answered questions and proactively offered practical advice, making me feel right at home. The room was quite spacious, and the hotel facilities were decent. The environment was nice, and there were activities for kids, which was great! However, the dining was a letdown. The menu was limited, and for Chinese food, they only offered set meals, which were both unappetizing and expensive. As for the complimentary photo shoot, if you wanted the photos, the price was ridiculously high. Traveling with kids in Guangdong, with temperatures soaring above 30℃, truly felt like a trial by fire! For our Zhuhai trip, we headed straight to the Gongbei Port and checked into the Zhuhai Wan Yue Hotel on the first day. I never expected that choosing the right hotel would cut my stress in half! This 'mom-friendly' itinerary was incredibly smooth. 👇 🗺️ Our Lazy First Day Itinerary in Zhuhai • Arrival & Check-in: The hotel is at No. 28 Shuiwan Road, Gongbei, super close to the border crossing. We hopped out of the car and were checked in within seconds. This time, I specifically chose a family-themed room. The room was very spacious with one 2-meter wide bed and one 1.2-meter wide bed, giving us plenty of room with the little one. Although the side window offered views of the bustling city and a partial sea view, it was wonderfully quiet and not facing the street. The family room also thoughtfully provided kids' toothbrushes, slippers, and toys – full marks for attention to detail! It met all the essential needs for families with children. • Hotel Fun: In the afternoon, we went straight to the heated pool and indoor kids' play area on the 5th floor. The water quality was clean, and there were staff supervising, so the kids played wildly for two hours. • Dinner Delight: In the evening, we took the elevator up to the 'Wan Yue Xuan Seafood Restaurant' on the 22nd floor – this is where the real 'king's view' is! The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a direct view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. We enjoyed delicious Cantonese cuisine while admiring the bridge's night scenery. • Seaside Stroll: After sunset, we headed to Binhai Park / Lovers' Road. The sea breeze blew away all our fatigue, and watching the distant bridge tower lights was super chill. The kids even got to build sandcastles. • Breakfast Power-up: With both Western and Chinese options, plus Cantonese dim sum, we filled up early before heading out. • Prime Location: Gongbei Port/High-Speed Rail Station are within walking distance, making it convenient to go to Macau, Chimelong, or downtown.

Yu Hot Spring/Jintai Temple Zhuhai|39.26km from city center
From the moment we walked in, all the staff greeted us with smiles. The receptionist even helped us with our luggage all the way to the elevator for our room. Throughout our stay, staff consistently made an effort to greet guests first, which created a wonderful first impression. I'd heard this was an older, well-established hot spring hotel in Zhuhai, so I was a bit worried it might be dated. But I was pleasantly surprised! Both the rooms and public areas are incredibly well-maintained – 'spotless' isn't an exaggeration. It could easily compete with hot spring hotels in Japan and Korea. The buffet temple fair dinner was also fantastic and fun. They had a wide variety of food and drinks from different regions, enough to satisfy guests from all over. There was even specialty Peking duck, bird's nest soup, and grilled oysters, all genuinely good quality. At 7 PM, they had 'Tai Gong Fen Zhu Rou' (a traditional pork carving ceremony) and crispy roasted pork, which was delicious in every way and all-you-can-eat – incredibly satisfying! After dinner, there were plenty of unique game stalls to enjoy, which helped with digestion and provided lovely family bonding time for families, and more interaction for couples. This arrangement was excellent. Once we'd eaten and played our fill, we headed to the hot springs, and there were plenty of pools. The hotel even states that if a guest discovers they're using boiler-heated water (fake hot springs), they'll be rewarded with 1 million yuan. That really speaks to their confidence in their authentic hot springs. Overall, my experience at this hot spring hotel was completely satisfactory, from the service and management to the cleanliness of the rooms and public areas, and the dining arrangements. I hope the hotel continues to maintain its unique character while also evolving with the times, becoming a century-old hot spring establishment in Zhuhai. I commend the management for their efficient and professional approach, and the staff for their warm and caring attitude! Other so-called 'star' hot spring hotels inland could truly learn a lot from a visit here. A truly great hotel doesn't rely solely on a grand, flashy exterior or gaudy luxury décor, which can quickly lead to aesthetic fatigue and won't keep guests coming back. Instead, it offers warmth and understated beauty.

Ocean Spring Resort Zhuhai|52.68km from city center
The room was a bit old-fashioned, so I didn't take any pictures. The hot springs have both indoor and outdoor sections. Soaking in the outdoor springs with a sea view was really enjoyable. The resort's amusement park is quite large, but unfortunately, we encountered a typhoon and couldn't enjoy any of the rides. When we left the amusement park, it was still raining, and the resort thoughtfully arranged shuttle buses to take guests back to the hotel. The resort's pet park isn't small, and it's kept very clean with no strong odors. If you're unsure what to eat, you can try the buffet on the second floor of the hot spring area for 50 per person, which offers a good variety of food. The hotel's location is a bit remote, so if you want to drive out for food, it'll be quite a distance. I'd recommend just eating at the hotel; they have套餐 (set menus) that are quite good value.

This hotel had two standout positives: 1. **Excellent Location:** It's incredibly close to the beach. Downstairs, there are public buses to all the attractions, as well as tour buses. 2. **Great Convenience:** Staying here felt very convenient. They provided a full range of items, such as free rental of sand-digging tools, tape for sending packages, nail clippers, plastic slippers, and chargers – truly everything you could need. However, there were also two significant negatives: 1. **Cigarette Smoke in the Room:** When trying to sleep, there was a persistent smell of cigarette smoke around the bed. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault directly, but rather due to inconsiderate guests smoking in the room. The smoke had absorbed into the velvet headboard and carpet. This really highlights the need for the hotel to implement stricter management and clearly enforce a no-smoking policy in the rooms. 2. **Poor Soundproofing:** Late at night, I could constantly hear loud shouting, laughing, and yelling from the neighboring room. Again, this was due to encountering rude guests.

March 14, 2026. This was my first stay at the Hyatt Centric Zhuhai Jinshi, a new brand (to me) under the Hyatt umbrella. Every single staff member, from the security guard at the lobby entrance to the front desk and housekeeping, was incredibly welcoming. I particularly loved that there's one of my favorite Chinese restaurants right next to the Centric. The hotel is located by the Qianshan River, and the view from my bedroom window was absolutely delightful. In the evening, about 700 meters away, there's Baishi Bridge, which lights up beautifully, creating a dreamlike river scene. I stayed in room 1125; it wasn't huge, but it was spacious enough and very comfortable. My only slight disappointment was the severely unstable TV signal transmission. I believe this is due to poor cable routing, an insufficient number of signal boosters, or low-quality equipment. I hope management pays special attention to this. Apart from that, I would still gladly recommend this hotel to everyone, because compared to the nearby 'Renaissance' hotel, the 'Centric' offers incredibly good value for money.

I wholeheartedly give the Grand Bay Hotel a full five-star rating. For this family trip, we booked three rooms, and every aspect of our stay was filled with thoughtful details. I must commend each and every one of the staff for their attentiveness and dedication. During check-in, Front Desk staff Xiao Zhou and Xiao Tan, upon learning that our group included seniors and children, were incredibly enthusiastic and went back and forth to coordinate, making a special effort to arrange all three rooms on the same floor. This saved us the hassle of running back and forth, making it much more convenient to look after the elderly and children. This thoughtful arrangement made our entire party feel extremely comfortable. We had purchased a package that included the buffet dinner, and during meal times, Xiao Pan at the restaurant proactively and thoughtfully reserved a suitable dining area for us, away from the crowded sections. This allowed our entire family, old and young, to leisurely enjoy their meals, significantly enhancing our dining experience. When it came time to check out at the end of our trip, we accidentally left behind two water bottles and didn't even notice until after we had left. Fortunately, Manager Luo meticulously noticed the items and properly kept them safe for us. If we ever return to Zhuhai, we can retrieve them at any time. From the front desk coordinating rooms and the restaurant thoughtfully arranging seating, to helping us store forgotten items after check-out, every employee at this hotel considers problems from the guest's perspective. The service is far from a rigid, procedural task; genuine sincerity runs through the entire experience. This hotel has already become my top choice for accommodation when visiting Zhuhai, and it's also our third year choosing it for our travels! I highly recommend the Grand Bay Hotel to everyone.

The hotel's front desk service was excellent, and the location is great, very close to the Zhuhai Fisher Girl Love Post Office, making it super convenient for getting around. There's also a gas station near the hotel, and they offer free parking, which is perfect for self-driving tours. The only minor drawback is that the 1.20m beds are a bit small. Mercure is always my top choice, and I hope their facilities and services continue to improve in the future.

Excellent stay and great value for money! The location of Palm Spring Hotel is very strategic, being close to Zhuhai Railway Station, Gongbei Port & Xiawan Market. The hotel free transfer service is an added merits. The hotel is clean & well-maintained. Staff are friendly & helpful. The breakfast is good with a wide variety of choices. One of the highlights of this hotel is the complimentary access to the resort club facilities, including the spa & sauna with unlimited drinks & fruits, which is a wonderful added benefit. There is also self-service coffee available at the reception area throughout the day. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Palm Spring Hotel. The facilities & services exceeded my expectations for the price paid. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Zhuhai.

Coming from Macau 🇲🇴 port, I just wanted to find a hotel quickly because I didn't want to drag my luggage around. I didn't expect to find such a peaceful environment despite being centrally located. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff at the front desk, both the young men and women, were very friendly and accommodating to all our requests. Staying here was even more comfortable than in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 or Macau 🇲🇴. We've decided to extend our stay for another night!

The room is very design-conscious, with a bit of Chinese retro style. The breakfast is very exquisite. The view from the room is very wide, and the surrounding area is very quiet. The manager Zhao Rui at the front desk is very friendly. She helped me make an appointment for an aromatherapy balance SPA. The masseuse is very professional and I feel very relieved after the treatment. In short, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. I look forward to going there again next time!

Huafa Business Area Zhuhai|9.04km from city center
The location is excellent, right in the middle of Zhuhai Avenue, very close to Huafa Mall, making dining and shopping convenient. Public transportation is also well-developed, and the room facilities are good. However, the breakfast is quite average. The breakfast area is also an old-fashioned dim sum restaurant that is open to the public, sharing the same dining space for both hotel guests and external customers. The difference in food quality between the dim sum served to the public and the breakfast buffet is too significant. I suggest improving the quality and variety of the breakfast, as this would greatly enhance the hotel's overall positioning and appeal!

The hotel's location is great, making it convenient to get anywhere. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. The room size was quite small, especially the bathroom; you had to close the door to even step into the shower. Housekeeping needs improvement: the sink was visibly stained with oil and completely uncleared, and there was dust on the room's desk. Breakfast is on the first floor and seems to be outsourced; the variety is limited, and the taste is poor, which doesn't align with the Lavande brand or the price paid for the stay.

First off, the front desk attendant was incredibly kind, patient, and beautiful. The hotel has a massive parking lot, with both above-ground and underground spaces, so there's plenty of room to park anywhere. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I'm very satisfied and will definitely be staying here again. I'm already a fan!

Came to Zhuhai with my family and stayed at Xiyuan for one night to visit an old friend nearby. The room was very large and spacious, but the decor was quite old-fashioned, showing its age. There was construction going on near the hotel, so we could hear noise at night. The front desk staff were quite unresponsive and mostly playing on their phones...

The room layout is sensible, with soft lighting and equipped with a small tea table and chairs, perfect for relaxation. Allen provided warm and friendly service, always willing to help. The soundproofing is excellent. Although the facilities aren't brand new, they are well-maintained with no damage or malfunctions. My entire stay was comfortable and peaceful. It's suitable whether you're traveling alone or with company. I've saved this place and will definitely book again next time I'm in the area.

The hotel's service is very good, very warm, clean, and convenient to enter and exit. It is the beach in front of the door. It is very convenient to go swimming and diving. This homestay also has sea fishing to make an appointment. It is their own boat. The captain is very good and patient. He taught us to fish. The fish can be taken away for processing. There are ice cream activities now, and I will come next time!
