It's convenient to buy a roundtrip ticket. The main thing is to take a card with a code at the ticket counter and keep it for the return trip! Here's what to do: When you exit the plane, follow the signs to the Maglev. At the entrance, there's a ticket counter there, say "Trip.com," and the cashier will copy the code and issue one card per person. Go to the turnstile, insert it, and they'll give it back to you. Take it back and board the train. When you arrive by train, insert the card into the turnstile at the exit and take it back (you'll need it for the return trip, so don't lose it). Do the same thing on the return trip, but you won't be given your card back when you exit the Maglev at the airport. Have a great trip 🤗🌷

It's very convenient to travel! Definitely worth using. The cost is quite low compared to other countries, and there's plenty of space for everyone. Access is easy with a child and suitcases—I'm always worried about that, but everything went great. The train doesn't reach its maximum price.

Absolutely. Buy tickets through Trip.com and get a QR code on your phone. Then go to the ticket machine at the Longyang station , show the QR code , and get a printed ticket. Then show the printed ticket to the entry gate opposite. Then at the end of the trip, insert the printed ticket into the exit gate to get out. I was hoping to keep the ticket as a souvenir, but no. A 30km trip in about 10 minutes at 300km/hr with no wheels.😮

Most station will not have escalator going downwards, thus it is best to check which exit has the going downwards escalator or lift to avoid carrying lugguage down the stairs.
Hotel:
Lobby is on level 4.
You will need to take steps down and a small slope to wheel your luggage from level 4 luft to reception area.
Rooms are on level 4 & 5 (via lift).
Rooms on level 4 are at 3 areas:
1- just outside level 4 lift landing= excellent choice. but do not choose room facing inwards which may not have windows
2-behind reception area, will have to take a fleet of steps to go up.
Some rooms may have to take 2 sets of steps to reach your room.
nonetheless, the hotel will help you move your luggages.
3- level 5, need to take another lift infront of the reception area.
Send in your request if you have seniors travellers or need easy access.
We stayed for 3 night. On the first night, the room alloacted to us was at level 4 at the back of the reception counter, have to climb 2 fleets of steps.
The leakage from the bathroom and requested room to be changed.
They are kind to upgarde my room to a room just outside the level 4 lift and facing the street.
The room come with a beautiful reading chair.
However the legs were facing out and easily knock onto them.
I was unfortyuanatley and had my toes knocked onto them.

Jing'an District/West Nanjing Road Shanghai|0.85km from city center
The hotel’s location is very good. It is about a 5-minute walk to a huge Starbucks, Nanjing West Road, the MRT station, and Wujiang Road, which has several nice bakeries and food options. This made getting around very convenient. There was also a 7-11 just across the road.
However, the Premier Two-Bedroom Suite was disappointing for the price paid. The rooms are rather small, especially the master bedroom, where there was not enough space to place or open any luggage. We had to keep our luggage in the living room instead.
The bathroom, particularly the shower area, looked very dated. The tiles appeared old and there was a musty smell, which was unpleasant. Another inconvenience was that the light switches were only on one side of the bed, making it very inconvenient to switch off the lights from the other side.
The kitchenette was also very small. Cutlery was stored in a drawer above the bin, which was not ideal, and there were no extra plates provided. The tiles looked old with visible cracks, and some of the drawers were faulty. Overall, the room did not feel premium and felt overpriced for what was offered. The hotel rooms clearly need a glow-up to match the Kempinski brand and the rates charged.
Additionally, the reception area was undergoing renovation, with no seating or waiting area. The pick-up and drop-off driveway is very narrow, only a small lane. When loading our luggage, we had to do so very quickly as other cars were waiting. The driveway would benefit from being more spacious.
While the location is excellent, the room condition, layout, and facilities did not meet expectations for a Premier suite.From$147

Despite being in such a central location, the rooms are surprisingly quiet – truly an oasis of calm in the bustling city. One night, we were too tired to pick up our takeout order, and there was too much for the delivery robot to handle, so one of the concierges personally brought it up to our room, which we really appreciated. The Westin's location is absolutely fantastic, and there aren't many hotels in this area that offer free parking, even if it's just one car per room. The Bund View Room is a bit of a distance from the Bund itself, but you can enjoy a bath while taking in the Lujiazui 'three-piece suit' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers). The hotel facilities are indeed a bit dated, but that hasn't affected its occupancy rate at all. My only minor disappointment was arriving around 4 PM to find that our assigned room still hadn't been cleaned. Because I had meetings, I often left early and returned late. Once, I casually asked where I could find hot congee. Not only did the front desk staff patiently give me directions, but the next morning at breakfast, they actually proactively asked me if I had rested well. The front desk lady escorted me to the 10th floor for check-in, and the executive lounge staff were also very gentle. Check-in was super quick, and they even did a pre-check-in 'stress test' (or something similar). However, I'm curious if there should be a post-checkout test too? Maybe we were just too rushed to do it. Still, the executive lounge staff were very professional and attentive. The only minor downside was that when I got hungry in the middle of the night, there was no all-day dining or room service available. The housekeeping auntie who did the turndown service noticed we had used towels and kindly called for new ones, which was very thoughtful! The location is located in the forest but there's no light surrounding during night . There are 3 pet dogs who live nearby (one of them is friendly). During winters the place is almost empty. Previously, the Peace Hotel comprised both North and South buildings and was once known as the 'First Building in the Far East,' an iconic landmark on the Bund.
I was incredibly fortunate to stay here this time, a truly immersive and delightful experience. Step out, and you're greeted by the architectural wonders of the Bund and the observation deck offering stunning views of Pudong. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is right at the doorstep. The location is absolutely superb.
The hotel also houses a small museum, which feels more like an exhibition hall, with regular guided tours. A magnificent glass peace dove with outstretched wings dominates the center of the lobby. Despite its century-old history, the hotel boasts comprehensive and modern facilities. Every corner of the hotel is picturesque, perfect for photos.
All the staff were warm and polite, providing very thoughtful service. However, there was a minor lapse when the concierge staff placed my checked luggage on the floor.
The hotel's ambiance is fantastic. I requested a high-floor room overlooking Nanjing Road during check-in and was assigned a room on the 7th floor, also facing Nanjing Road, which offered excellent views. Lying in bed at night, I could admire the Nanjing Road nightscape. Perfect!
The package also included drinks and snacks at the Cathay Room on the top floor. After discussing with the hotel, we opted to exchange it for a performance at the Jazz Bar. An 80+-year-old jazz band performs there nightly, accompanied by a resident singer. We were given two complimentary drinks – one cocktail and one juice – along with chicken wings and peanuts. Listening to jazz, enjoying a drink, and munching on snacks was pure bliss.
The room perfectly blends classic and modern styles, with comprehensive amenities. The bathroom was huge, and there was a walk-in closet and a very large bathtub. The bed was super-sized, with soft and comfortable bedding. The room was spotlessly clean, and the toiletries were all high-quality. Before we returned to the room in the evening, the staff had already prepared it for bedtime.
Welcome fruits and exquisite chocolates were also thoughtfully provided in the room. They were so beautiful, I almost didn't want to eat them! The in-room coffee bar offers complimentary coffee, while the mini-bar items are chargeable.
After enjoying the jazz, returning to the room for a relaxing shower and a good night's sleep was simply wonderful. So happy!
Breakfast was served at the Jasmine Restaurant on the first floor. The East-meets-West buffet offered an incredibly rich selection, with what felt like nearly a hundred different dishes. There was so much food, I almost couldn't try everything. Upon being seated, the server brought a cup of coffee and a pot of tea. In the end, I piled my table high with food and savored each bite. This is an eager five-star review, starting with a special shout-out to Bernie and Grace at the Executive Lounge for their exceptional help and superb coffee! For my 4-day trip, the front desk offered a room upgrade at the minimum extra cost, allowing my whole family to enjoy a full river view plus executive benefits throughout our stay. The rooftop swimming pool was fantastic; the water quality was perfect, and swimming naked at night didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My baby practically lived in the pool and executive lounge for several days. The breakfast was more Western-style, with unbeatable desserts. The ice cream and donuts were outstanding. The Executive Lounge is on the 28th floor, and lunch is à la carte. I highly recommend the foie gras and wagyu burger – absolutely fantastic. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the tenderness of the foie gras and beef complemented each other beautifully. For afternoon tea, there were various coffee options, and the cappuccino and iced latte I tried were both excellent. The light dinner in the evening was more than sufficient for a traveler; the creamy mushroom chicken stew, grilled sausages, and curry beef left a very deep impression.
Finally, let's talk about the room and hotel environment. Kempinski perfectly replicated the essence of classic elegance. While the room facilities might seem a bit dated, the hotel redefined luxury with its tangible comfort. The room temperature was always just right, and the experience with personal garments, towels, and bedding made you unconsciously indulge in the luxury. Even the blankets by the pool were warm, truly embodying the idea of 'warm service.'
Lastly, to pick a bone, I'll offer some limited suggestions as a guest: Firstly, with the economic downturn, family travel will gradually become mainstream. Breakfast could add some kid-friendly items like smiley potato fries, ketchup, and bolognese pasta, which wouldn't significantly increase costs. Secondly, the glass needs cleaning, especially the panoramic glass at the pool, as it affects the view.
I can't come up with a third point because the experience was truly excellent. I hope they continue their efforts.
