Really helpful and kind reception, the areas were so clean and spacious. I stayed in one of the all girls rooms which was a nice choice this time of year. never fighting for bathrooms/showers. plus its in rotoruas cbd right next to one of the parks for a nice stroll!
It is an award-winning youth hostel, but it is still a youth hostel after all. Backpackers who like to meet new friends and want to save money can consider it. The rooms are in good condition and have a unique decoration style, but the sound insulation is really average. If you want a quiet sleep, you can basically ignore it or bring your own earplugs.
We stayed 3 nights in a private room at Rock Solid. The first room we got assigned was just below the lounge area and given the walls are so thin it really seemed like a group of people was in our room. The manager was very nice and moved us into a different room- walls still thin but at least in a different location vs the first room. The common areas are big and clean + you get 50% discount on the climbing wall gym which we used!
The location is very good, very close to the attractions, free parking spaces, the shared kitchen is large, comfortable and clean, everything else is good, but the facilities in the room are relatively old. Overall the price/performance ratio is still very good
The hotel is in the center of town, the toilets
and the showers were clean, the receptionist was very friendly to me. It is one of the lowest prices in the city while the service is top notch. I would stay there again.
It's really noisy until 1 a.m. ㅠ I couldn't sleep.
Please refer to everyone.. The facilities are old and not good, except for the friendly staff and good location.
They dont have heating a/c especially in the common areas. It's impossible to use the toilet and bathroom under such circumstance.

GGuest UserBeautiful clean tidy room. Service was excellent. Very efficient and friendly. The room was quiet and peaceful and had everything we could ever need. Loved that there was a spa bath in the room. The way everything was laid out and the excellent quality linen made it feel nice and luxury. The owners and staff have put a lot of time into makung the room and Motor Inn grounds look special and relaxing. It would be nice if the room had a bit more natural lighting eg one or two more skylights but there was plenty of good artificial lighting so the amount of light in the room was not a problem. Thank You For a Beautiful stay. This will be our number 1 choice whenever we come to Tauranga.
GGuest UserThis is a really well equipped room and we were very happy with our stay. The room is large and well lit. Comfy big beds and the air-con works well as it gets very warm in the room with the afternoon sun streaming in. We enjoyed the very vocal welcoming cat in reception too! The location is very close to everything you need during your stay.
Would love to have a sealed bottle of milk rather than the pre filled bottle, and there were toenail clippings all over the carpet by my side of the bed and the light bulbs were coated in dust; these were small issues but didn’t detract from what is a great place to stay. A little attention to detail and this place is close to 10/10.
GGuest UserVery clean, has everything you need. Wasn’t able to check in by 630pm, called them in advance to inform and arranged for a self check in. Emily was very kind, explained the steps over the phone, and texted again just as a reminder. Self check in was very easy and convenient. Instructions were attached with the key, documents were neatly placed in the room.
Only downside was it wasn’t very close to the supermarket/shops, probably about 15min walk, but it was raining so took us 20min. Driving would have been better.
Please note there’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor.
Overall, would come back again, it was still a great stay!
GGuest UserThe so-called breakfast was too poor. It only consisted of two slices of bread, two cans of yogurt, a 200ml box of milk, and a few jams. They were placed in the room on the day of check-in. The key is that the yogurt and milk were not placed in the refrigerator. The so-called motel hot springs are just two tiled pools from the 1970s in China.
AAnonymous UserThe room is clean and tidy, very comfortable, suitable for two families or a few friends to stay together, it is worth recommending. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again next time.
AAnonymous UserUpon checking in at night, we found that the reception wasn't at the main entrance. We had to call someone to guide us in, as the room itself was located down a narrow alleyway right next door, allowing direct vehicle access. The bathroom had a towel warmer, which was very convenient, but the power outlet in the bathroom wasn't working. The room was split-level and relatively clean. Female guests might find the secluded entrance a bit unsettling. Otherwise, everything was great.
GGuest UserConvenient for intercity bus stop. Friendly front desk, but not always there. There was no pool towel when we showed up, but no one was at the front desk to give out towels.
LLagasLocation was good, little noisy at night but not to much. Myself and my partner had the family room with the spa. Spa was amazing. Enjoyed late night swims. Very clean and warm
