The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! It's right in the city center, just a few hundred meters from the Central Station and Dam Square. Chinatown and the Red Light District are also just a stone's throw away. There are tons of restaurants nearby, including many Chinese options. The hotel itself was very clean and quiet inside. The only downside was that our room was on the second floor, and there was a bright light fixture right outside our window that stayed on all night. Plus, it happened to be King's Day celebrations, and our room was directly above where the festivities were happening. The cheers and revelry from people drinking went on until late into the night, and the soundproofing wasn't great, making it impossible to sleep. Overall, though, I'm still quite satisfied.

The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from Amsterdam Central Station, making it very convenient for sightseeing and transportation. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the lighting in the room was quite dim. One thing that could be improved is the bathroom lighting. It works with a motion sensor, so if you stay still for a while (for example, during a shower), the lights switch off automatically. It was inconvenient to have the bathroom suddenly become dark while showering. Overall, it's a good hotel with an excellent location, but improving the room and bathroom lighting would make the stay even better.

This is a pretty standard luxury hotel, with no major issues. There's a mini-fridge, but it's not cold enough and doesn't come stocked with anything. However, the umbrella is a high-end carbon fiber one, which is quite rare and a nice touch. The bathroom drain had a bit of a problem, probably a clog from hair that needs to be cleaned promptly. My biggest issue, though, was the front desk – they were incredibly slow! Especially during check-out. I've never seen a hotel where you have to wait in line one by one; usually, you just leave your room card and go.

Overall, this stay was just average! The hotel boasts a fantastic view, and the surrounding area is convenient for dining and shopping. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the window offered a wide view. The front desk staff were reasonably friendly and recommended nearby attractions. The breakfast had a good variety of options and was decent in taste.

Here’s a firm, professional complaint that clearly states your concerns without making it unnecessarily aggressive. It focuses on the issues you described and requests a formal investigation. Dear Hotel Manager, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my recent stay at your hotel. This experience has been one of the most humiliating and unprofessional hotel experiences I have ever encountered. Firstly, I was charged €250 for smoking in the room. While I understand that hotels have strict no-smoking policies and I am willing to accept the applicable penalty if a violation occurred, nothing justifies the way your staff handled the situation. Despite me clearly instructing your staff not to enter my room, they forcefully entered without my permission. At that moment, I was not properly dressed, making the situation extremely embarrassing and a serious invasion of my privacy. This conduct was completely unacceptable. Furthermore, during this interaction, two members of your staff spoke to me in Dutch in what appeared to be an abusive and mocking manner. Although I do not understand Dutch, their tone, gestures, and overall behaviour were intimidating, disrespectful, and deeply humiliating. No guest should ever be treated in such a degrading way. The second issue concerns my food delivery. I had ordered food late at night, and it was left at the reception. When I went to collect it a few hours later, I was informed that the food had been thrown away. I was never contacted, no attempt was made to inform me that my order had arrived, and no explanation was provided as to why my personal property had been discarded. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of respect for guests and their belongings. The combination of these incidents reflects an alarming lack of professionalism, respect for guest privacy, and basic customer service standards. I expect the following: 1. A formal investigation into the conduct of the staff involved. 2. A written explanation as to why my room was entered against my explicit instructions. 3. An explanation as to why my food delivery was disposed of without my consent or any attempt to contact me. 4. An apology addressing the unacceptable treatment I experienced. 5. A review of your staff’s conduct and training to ensure that no other guest is subjected to such behaviour. I chose Mövenpick expecting a high standard of hospitality. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, humiliated, and extremely disappointed. I look forward to receiving your prompt response and an explanation regarding these serious matters. Yours sincerely, Lauv Jaiswal If you intend to escalate this to Mövenpick’s corporate customer relations or to post it as a public review, I can also help you draft a stronger version suitable for those channels.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel which is beautifully decorated and maintained. The staff were kind enough to check us in early and upgraded our room, however we were woke the next morning by construction. The staff helped us to change rooms but there was no apology for the inconvenience. Our new room was comfortable apart from the noise from upstairs (it’s an old building so that’s expected) and a high pitch whistle coming from the vent near to the windows. As I said, the hotel is decorated beautifully, not just the lobby but also the bar, the lounge and the rooms. Some of the electrics are a little old (hairdryer, no USB plugs) but apart from this, everything is superb. The location is excellent for roaming the city, and the complimentary drinks, cakes and biscuits throughout the day were a lovely touch. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Hotel was very far from the ferry terminal. This was known when I booked the hotel so no fault of the hotel just that if you are booking here, it will take you 15-20 mins to get to the ferry terminal to take F2 ferry to Amsterdam Centraal. Otherwise take a bus to the metro stop in 10 mins would be faster for exploring the city. Breakfast was basic but included free so nothing to complain about. Room was generally clean. Only small issue that it can get really busy during peak season and lifts take 2-3 mins to arrive. Breakfast if you eat too late spills out of the main dining area. Very crowded. Best to eat breakfast before 8am. Many nice food places and supermarket near hotel.

Just came back from a lovely stay at the Best Western Amsterdam. For us this was the perfect location though a 10 minute walk to the metro / tram (2) as we really liked the neighbourhood, local cafes and local restaurants. The hotel staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our 4 day stay, with an extra big thank you for Gabe (?), on the reception desk. He consistently assisted whether with check in options, left luggage, the much needed luggage scales, local attractions... He was awesome! The rooms had air con (much appreciated in this current heatwave) clean, spacious enough (we stayed in a triple). If you have lots of luggage it may feel like a squeeze! Great 'bar' area for meeting other guests! This is a place I would definitely stay in again! You may wish to consider a taxi, to and from the airport if there are a few of you as it's about 15min drive and we paid about 20 euros, though it's through an app so changes on the moment!! Many thanks to the Best Western for your amazing hospitality!

This hotel is a convenient option for those who want to stay near Amsterdam but don't want to pay city prices. Getting there is very easy; it's just one Sprinter train stop outside the city center, and then an easy walk from the station to the hotel. The area around the hotel has plenty of amenities, with both a Spar and Jumbo supermarket nearby, making it very convenient to buy food, drinks, or essential items. However, one issue slightly dampened the overall experience: a scarf went missing in the hotel lobby and was not recovered, even after inquiring with the hotel. Therefore, I recommend keeping a close eye on your personal belongings in common areas. Overall, it's a hotel with convenient transport links, a good location, and plenty of shops nearby, but it's advisable to be more careful with your personal items and belongings.

I had a lovely stay at Generator. If your goal is to meet people, this is a great choice. It's a very social hostel, and during the weekend I stayed, there was a party going on from the basement all the way up to the first floor. It created a fun atmosphere, and the staff were all lovely and welcoming. However, if your priority is getting a good night's sleep, this might not be the best option. I stayed in a 6-bed dorm with two triple bunk beds, and the room felt quite cramped, so you could hear almost every movement. The large storage drawers under the beds were large, but they were also quite noisy whenever someone opened or closed them. And I told you about those parties right? You could still hear the music from the room late into morning.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a day of exploring Amsterdam. The location was excellent—just a short walk from Noord Metro Station, with the city centre only around 15 minutes away. It made getting around incredibly convenient. A special thank you to the team for the thoughtful surprise to celebrate my parents’ wedding anniversary. It was a lovely gesture that made their special day even more memorable, and we truly appreciated the kindness. The only minor issue was that housekeeping was a little inconsistent. We left a note requesting mineral water to be refilled, but on some days it wasn’t replenished. That said, the staff at reception were always very responsive, and we could easily collect anything we needed from there. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam. 😊

Standard room, what you'd expect from a chain hotel. The lobby area was nice and spacious, with a bar that looked quite nice too. Huge (paid) parking area with two levels. It's close to a metro station, but it really is quite far from everything else. If you are planning to visit the city, I'd highly recommend to stay more closer to the city center because after late night, you'll have to get an expensive Taxi to come back. No late night tram stops nearby. The rooms were typical in size, bathroom, amenities, etc. They stored our bags until late evening, which we appreciated. There is a small kiosk that you can buy munchees if you take on a Brocolli adventure, with cheap chocolates and chips.

The location was amazing and check in was a breeze; however, once I got to my room I found it to be incredibly small given the price. The shower flooded the bathroom floor and the towel was tattered and falling apart. I’m a bit tall (186) and had difficulty with the toilet because the bathroom was so small. I had to sit slightly sideways to keep my knees from hitting the wall. I was traveling with a couple friends. Their rooms were much nicer, so I guess I was just tye unlucky one.

The first impression of the hotel is quite favorable: it's a modern high-rise building, check-in is very quick, the rooms are decorated in the currently fashionable ”industrial” style, and the views from the window are beautiful. However, after a while, you notice some drawbacks. First and foremost: the hotel takes a hefty 150-euro deposit upon check-in. It's understandable that the hotel is concerned about the safety of the rooms, but for that kind of money, you'd expect luxurious furnishings. What you end up with are ”basic amenities.” There are no slippers, no robes, no conditioner for washing hair, not even proper ceramic cups for hot drinks. The overall impression is that the hotel isn't a 4-star (as advertised). It's a ”good 3-star.”

Hotel flipper is a hostel style hotel from and is very suitable for young adults. The service is great , the lobby has a vending machine for drinks and snacks and there is a seating area available for people who want to bring food to eat there or just chill and chat there. The room itself is rather old and beds are very soft . Very much like school dormitory style. No lift is available so if you have heavy luggage you must take that into consideration. When the male attendant is around, he will offer to help you carry luggage up or down but most of the time . Rooms come with a built in hair dryer which is slow , kettle with some tea bags , towels, shower gel and shampoo 2 in 1, cupboard and clothes hangers. There is no aircon and room lighting is a bit dark.

The design is very novel, but the foundation felt a bit unstable – check out the picture, it seemed wobbly, and I honestly hesitated to book it at first, haha. However, once I actually stayed, the 7 elevators were super fast, and the room design was very interesting. The only downside was that the room walls were all concrete... The view was excellent though; it's so hard to find a high-rise hotel in Amsterdam! Breakfast offered a much wider variety than typical 3 or 4-star hotels. The hotel is about a 30-minute walk from Amsterdam Zuid Station. I'm not sure what tracks are next to it. There's also an Upside Down Museum across the street that I didn't get a chance to visit.

The hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam's Dam Square, to Chinatown, just a 10-minute walk from the red light district. The hotel is opposite the Queen's department store, the most exclusive department store in Amsterdam with many designer shops, and the shopping street is the second road on the left side of the hotel. On the pedestrian street, about two or thirty minutes is the flower market. On the right side is the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. On the first floor is the famous watch shop. Walk to Haicheng Restaurant for five minutes. The hotel has only 16 rooms in a boutique hotel. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the airport. It can be reached by walk from Amsterdam Central Railway Station for about 15 minutes. It is recommended to take a taxi for large luggage, because the road along the road is uneven and difficult to tow. Between 20-30 euros, because you have to detour. The hotel ci is located on the third floor, the service is warm and thoughtful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, stylish and sophisticated, the smart panel control system is convenient to use, provide late bed service, welcome chocolate and use French Langfan toiletries in Amsterdam hotel Should be among the best. The hotel offers a restaurant on the third floor, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only products are available, and the price is not high. Because there are too many restaurants around the hotel, the competition is strong. The bar is also on the third floor, and the evening is fragrant. This hotel is worth checking in, but it needs to be booked 15 to 30 days in advance, otherwise the price will rise.

Under Amsterdam's twinkling canals, I stumbled into Hotel Okura, weary from cobblestone wanderings. The lobby gleamed like a golden age dream—marble floors, crystal chandeliers whispering opulence. Check-in was a breeze; the concierge, with a sly wink, upgraded me to a canal-view suite. Sinking into silk sheets, I gazed at houseboats bobbing below. Room service arrived: stroopwafels, bitterballen, and champagne fizzing like fireworks. Midnight stroll? Nah. Instead, a random jazz playlist from the spa radio lured me to the rooftop bar. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent stay at your hotel, which we chose based on its high ratings and positive reviews. During our two-night stay with my family, we were shocked to experience a theft of our entire luggage from our BMW X7, parked right outside your hotel, on the night of April 17th to 18th. The security footage clearly shows multiple instances where the car alarm was triggered as thieves broke the windows and stole our valuables and suitcases. As residents of Belgium and professionals in architecture, we frequently visit Amsterdam for work. This is the first time we have encountered such a situation, and we were dismayed that throughout the night, neither hotel staff nor the police reached out to us to ensure the safety of your guests.  Had I known that such an incident could occur, I would have undoubtedly chosen another hotel. I feel compelled to share this experience through various review platforms to inform potential guests about the security issues at your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that steps will be taken to improve the safety and security for your guests in the future.

The air conditioning suddenly turned off in the middle of the night, but when I called the front desk, they turned it back on quickly.

Hotel room has a wooden floor instead of a carpet. The walk to the nearby metro station Bullewijk is relatively short but there was construction works going on when I visited so the walking route is less than ideal for suitcases.

There are three Ibis hotels near the airport, distinguished by red, green, and blue. All three are about a 10-minute drive from Amsterdam Airport. They offer a convenient airport shuttle bus service. The front desk staff are also friendly, and you can store your luggage for free before check-in. While the room wasn't huge, it was clean and functional overall. Perfectly fine for a solo traveler.

I was at the Harry Styles concert and due to railway maintenance, I couldn't get back home without a lot of transfers. I was very pleasantly surprised by the location, the friendliness, and the service from the staff member. I missed having a cup in the bathroom for brushing my teeth, but otherwise, there was nothing to complain about. The shower was wonderful! I would book again instantly (also for a concert at the Arena).

The hotel is located near Amsterdam Airport, so it's a bit out of the way with limited surrounding amenities, making transportation inconvenient. The room was generally clean, but the decor is dated and the soundproofing is poor. Service was acceptable, with prompt front desk responses. It's suitable for business travelers catching early flights, but not recommended as a base for sightseeing. Value for money is just average.

Loved our stay at the Orange Tulip! Location is amazing - literally a 7min walk from Centraal Station. Wedged right in between restaurants, souvenir shops, and tourist centres. 10min walk to the Red Light district, 5min walk to Dam Square. Check in was a little weird, you checked in at 1 location but the rooms were in another, but it was explained by the nice guy ant the front desk and super easy to understand where to go. Only downside, we choose a room with no window. The room came with a big fan but it did get stuffy at night. Next time, we’ll pick a room with a window. Stairs to rooms are extremely steep, we were lucky to only be on the 1st floor (up a super steep flight of about 15 stairs) but we could tell the hotel went up at least 2 more floors. Not suitable for someone with accessibility issues. Overall, we will stay here again! Central to everything Amsterdam has to offer, private bathroom, and the price was right!!
