Why wait till Hallows Eve to experience horror, thrills, and spills? Set just steps away from the world-famous London Eye lies the London Dungeon - a gore-gripping "one-stop horror shop". The 90-minute immersive experience features some of the British capital's darkest history dating back 1,000 years including grisly sets from the infamous Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd - Fleet Street's most feared barber.

Commonly referred to as the cunningly creepy rendition of Madame Tussauds, London Dungeon steps it up a notch by bringing their exhibits to life. Expect to find actors in the mix of wax figurines, live rats and cockroaches, and some surprises through the journey. Your walk on the wild side ends with Drop Dead Drop Ride to Doom - a 10-meter plunge into darkness. Enter at your own peril.

Served by the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern, and Waterloo & City lines, London Waterloo Tube Station also connects to the Waterloo Railway Station.

Golden Tours and Big Bus Tours - London's most popular Hop-on, Hop-off sightseeing bus services - also include a stop at the London Eye, adjacent to the Dungeon.

The London Dungeon Rides/Attractions

While the London Dungeon doesn't impose a strict age limit, the recommended minimum age to enter is 12 due to its slightly scary nature. Visitors under the age of 16 are also required to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years and older. Pregnant guests or visitors who require full accessibility are advised against participating in the experience.

The attraction features 18 interactive sets, each consisting of trained actors playing notable English villains and historical figureheads. Here are some highlights to expect from the Dungeons.

The Tyrant Boat Ride

The Tyrant Boat Ride

Your experience at the London Dungeon begins with a descent via a medieval lift and takes you 1,000 years back in time. Having discovered your identity, the Lift Jester then condemns you to death for conspiring against Henry VIII with Anne Boleyn. Board the Tyrant Boat Ride as you join her on her final journey along the River Thames to the Tower of London. Getting wet on this ride will be the least of your concerns - we hear rodents and foul sewage stenches are aplenty.

Remember, Remember, the 5th of November

london dungeon

Travel through dark, rat-infested tunnels as you flee from your execution. In the blink of an eye, it's the year 1605 and Guy Fawkes is plotting his explosive plan to blow up the House of Parliament with gunpowder following his failure to assassinate King James. Will he succeed?

Mrs. Lovett's Pie Shop and Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop

Meet Mrs. Margery Lovett - Sweeney Todd's partner-in-crime and owner of Mrs. Lovett's Pie Shop on Fleet Street. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by her infamous cackle and a fine selection of meat pies - rumor has it she makes the best pies in all of London… with "freshly butchered meat". Butter her up and she might even make you one! Located just a short walk away, join Toby - Mrs. Lovett's assistant - as he escorts you into Sweeney Todd's Barbershop for a little snip - we hear Sweeney Todd's slashed his prices for the occasion.

Jack the Ripper and the Whitechapel Murders

It's 1888 and the smell of fear seeps through the foggy gas-lit streets of London's East End. At Mitre Square, Mary Jane Kelly spills all the gruesome details on the recent Whitechapel murders but has to leave as soon as she's discovered she's revealed a tad too much. A cloaked stranger strikes and the only way to safety is through the Whitechapel Labyrinth - a confusing maze of narrow streets... or is it? We hope you don't end up seeking refuge at The Ten Bells Pub - rumor has it that all the victims of Jack the Ripper drank there.

Drop Dead: Drop Ride

On the final leg of the tour, you'll somehow find yourself in 1783's Newgate Gallows and a 10-meter-long drop awaits Newgate Prison's released prisoners… and you.
