We changed our trip itinerary, and fortunately I'd remembered reading about Porto Cesareo. It ended up being one of the nicest stops on our trip. When we arrived into town and looked around for a place to stay, we saw this hotel across a small, one-lane bridge in a beautiful setting on the water. The staff was as nice as they could be, and gave us a wonderful room with balcony and view to the harbor. It was off-season and very quiet, but we could see how the rooms may be a bit noisy if there are people on nearby balconies. It was nice to be able to park our car in their private lot. The location was great, and it was fun to stroll across the small bridge into town for dinner at a great trattoria that opened at 6 pm (fortunately most of the restaurants we looked at opened at 6 pm). It turned out to be one of the nicest, most relaxing towns we found on our trip.

We were hesitating to go somewhere near Bari (East cost) or Porto Cesareo (West cost) where the beaches are more beautiful. We decided to choose Club Azzurro (2 hours drive from Bari airport) and this was a very good decision. The staff is very friendly, the hotel itself is comfortable. It is not at the see, but close so the air was very healthy. We were there in early September, which is excellent timing. The temperature of the air was 29 C, the see temperature was around 26-27 C. The breakfast was great, they even provided lactose free milk (!) and a cappuccino was included. The hotel offered a free shuttle bus to Torre Lapillo beach (5 minutes drive). They took us to a very nice beach facility called Orange Sun, which offered excellent sunbeds and umbrellas, a cafe and a very good restaurant as well! We had to pay to the hotel EUR 15 for the sunbeds and umbrella. One day we tried the more famous Punta Prosciutto beach but it proved to be a bad decision! We had to pay for a much lower quality beach facility EUR 30 (EUR 5 parking + EUR 25 for the beds and umbrella) and the see was not so clean as in Torre Lapillo beach, since we could see seaweed, which was not existing at Torre Lapillo. So we recommend to use the hotel's offering instead of going to another beach by car. We tried the hotel's restaurant one evening which was also excellent. A 4 course menu for EUR 25 including a mixed buffet starter, which would have been enough for a dinner without other courses. We really enjoyed the local orecchiette pasta dish. The hotel is 2 kms away from the busy town of Porto Cesareo where someone can find excellent restaurants as well (Da Antimo was the best). We really enjoyed our one week holiday in Club Azzurro and many thanks for the excellent staff of the hotel. Clearly recommended!

We stayed 6 nights in September in this lovely B & B. We had a very positive experience. The place is spotless, well located facing the sea and a small boat harbour, close to a boardwalk that leads to the centre of Porto Ceasareo. It is 5 minutes’ walk from where the restaurants and shops are located and, as a result, it is very quiet. The bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy, and provided with a small fridge. The two sisters that look after the breakfasts and the maintenance of the place are charming, always willing to provide information, and make your stay the most pleasant possible. As for the owner, Gregorio, he is helpful and goes out of his way to make your stay memorable. The breakfasts are copious with fruit, croissants, cheese, delicatessen, and, every day, a fresh crostata/torta (cake/pie), prepared by one of the sisters.

It's been a real pleasure staying at this hotel. I was on a business trip at the NTC coming from France, and everything was beyond what I could have expected. The rooms are very clean and practical, the food is delicious with very fresh and local products, and the staff is kind and helpful. I've loved the fact the restaurant is open all day, and even before midnight. They've organised an thematic event with a concert on a Friday, it was a great idea to build up a great atmosphere in and around the hotel. Many thanks to all the staff for this great hosting !

If you can get away after the school term has started the prices here drop dramatically. It's a fantastic part of the coast the Ionian sea is warm clean and the weather was hot last week of Sept, 27- 30 degrees. Hotel and people super friendly. The area is very beautiful the beech literally across the road and a place where you can have lunch and drinks-the sand is top notch as is the sea. This hotel have one of the best paradise like beaches I have ever experienced and there are no stones in the sea either, the town is a short walk coastal walk to restaurants etc. Superb breakfast choice for veg and vegan too. It's a very safe area and all people are very respectful- it's safe to leave your things by your couch when you go for a dip to cool down- this is rare. This hotel provides pick up and drop to airport so it's all very easy and relaxing. One week here was like two somewhere else.Hotel room clean and everything you need. If you are a hotel inspector you will find one or two tiny cosmetic things but nothing bad, constant hot water and comfort for all. For the price at this time of year in one of the most desirable areas and holiday locations for Italians with all the local produce of Puglia you must be crazy not to consider this place and hotel last week in September or maybe a bit before which could be too hot. It starts to get a bit cooler after this date but I'm sure it's still hot for a short while before autumn kicks in.Highly recommended at this time of year if you want to swim read and sunbathe on your beach couch in a clean respectful space and hotel. Maybe take some anti mosquito spray product (allowed on planes) or ask reception for some for the room for your first night- zanzara don't bother you by the sea as they don't like moving air.
