We had an amazing stay at the NH hotel during our city break in Barcelona. All the provided services are perfect qualities. Whatever you wish to print your boarding passes at the concierge desk or order the room service the staff is more than happy to assist you. The room was ready for us much earlier than the check in time. The hotel is perfectly located, right at the La Rambla Street and the skybar at the roof offers amazing landscape of the city with DJ taking care of the music. We highly recommend the hotel for everyone who is looking for an accommodation in Barcelona. At the end we would like to award Laura and Mike from the front desk and a bellboy Kevin who were giving us an extraordinary assist since we only crossed the door of the hotel.From$251

The Majestic Hotel is in a great location. Lots of shopping and places to eat in the area. Our room was a junior suite. It was large, comfortable, very clean and extremely welcoming upon our return after a long day out enjoying the sites of Barcelona. The breakfast was wonderful having pretty much everything you could want for breakfast and more! When we come back to Barcelona in the future, we will definitely stay at the Majestic Hotel.From$443

I really like this hotel. It's by the sea. It's very comfortable to eat breakfast and look at the sea view. The only downside is that the deposit is a bit chaotic. Fortunately, I figured it out at the end of the check-out. The gothic quarter was in our opinion the best area we loved being so close to the beach and the lovely hidden Tapas restaurants that all came alive at night. My son is a pilot and we decided to go standby to Rome from Newark NJ .Plane was full so could not get on .We were at the airport with our passports in hand and did not want to go home ..United to Barcelona had 3 seats available.When we landed needed someplace to stay and i am a best western rewards member and this hotel could not have been better .A free shuttle from the airport 15 minute ride away.The staff Manuel ,2 Silvias and Mafhud as well as the restuarant staff were so nice and helpful getting us around town .20-25 $ Cab ride to La Rambla ,and most everywhere we wanted to go ..You can also use Cabify app ..THANK YOU .Cant wait to return ..Thanks from NYCFrom$122

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous; every detail, perfectly appointed. The pool, sauna and steam room were 100% worth the price of admission. It would be a mistake to skip. The bed was comfortable. The service was amazing and one of the servers pretty much made our trip (I forgot her name but I know she speaks Bulgarian). The front desk lady had great recommendations for vegetarian restaurants. I think that hotels of this caliber should always have a Nespresso or something like that in-room. I don’t care for getting ready and dressed to fetch coffee. There was a lot of street noise. Again, I picked a hotel right smack in the middle of town, but I did not sleep the second night. Lots of Americans everywhere. I would stay in a different part of town next time. From$314

We stayed 7 nights in this historic hotel and celebrated a special occasion during our trip. The hotel is truly beautiful & elegantly decorated, however the service levels were inconsistent and sorely disappointing for a hotel of this standard & price. Also, there was unfortunately no special factor that made this hotel memorable. Rooms - we booked a classic double room for 3 people & got upgraded to a deluxe room on a high floor. While I appreciated the upgrade and the room decor was beautiful, the bathroom (while spacious) was in visible need of refurbishment. The paint was badly peeling in certain parts, the closet doorknob came off on our third day, the glass shower door wouldn't close fully so the bathroom got wet during a shower. I'm not expecting a newly renovated room but for the price, the room should at least be in good working condition. Housekeeping - was very inconsistent and there was a severe lack of attention to detail. Some examples: - Upon check in, the room curtain was unhooked from the first hook and messily hanging - it took 3 days for housekeeping to finally notice & fix this. - For the entirety of our stay, all room amenities were provided for 2 (not 3) people despite us having booked & paid for 3 people. - Used wine glasses & water mugs were not washed for several days until we called housekeeping to do so. - On several days, I came back to my luggage having been moved haphazardly (I think they were trying to make up the extra bed) and not put back in its place. - Turn down service was done beautifully on some days and not at all on other days. Rooftop terrace - was a gorgeous place to dine, food was excellent and the service was lovely. We felt very welcome here and it was a real treat dining here! Definitely try the rooftop terrace at least once! Front desk, concierge and bellman were excellent. The concierge was helpful with dining recommendations and guest relations gave us a cake for the special occasion we were celebrating. The bellman was attentive to get us taxis & always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast - is definitely worth a try! The breakfast room is beautiful and the drawing room leading to it is so regal & gorgeous. Generous spread of food & service was warm as well. Amar - dined here & paid over 400 euros but it was a shockingly disappointing experience. The bread, starters, petit fours & decor were wonderful - but the 200 euros of seafood we ordered was not fresh at all and the service was disinterested & careless. We were abit shocked at how bad it was for a Michelin restaurant. Bluesman cocktail bar - did not try. There's a 50 euro per pax minimum spend but perhaps this could be waived for hotel guests who are already paying a lot for a room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but felt greatly let down by the service standards at this otherwise lovely hotel. Unfortunately, I highly doubt I'd return here again but sincerely hope the hotel improves its service standards to match its elegaFrom$501

The hotel is beautiful, clean and in a great location. I rarely complain about anything, however, the young lady who checked us in said, ”oh, and your breakfast is included!” This is not something I expected because normally I don't elect this unless it's automatic because I prefer the flexibility to have breakfast somewhere else. And usually larger hotel breakfasts are expensive. There were four of us in our party, and since it was ”included”” we went down every morning to take advantage of breakfast. When we checked out however we learned it was NOT included and we were charged $20 for each person per day. We explained the mistake to the front desk person, but he said he could not help us. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh provided. the location was great and about 7 mins walk from Glories metro and 10 mins walk from bogatell metro. The hotel is a short walk from a Wesfield shopping centre and a large supermarket which was handy as we didn't have breakfast at the hotel. There are cheap cafes and tapas close to the hotel and a great resturant called Dgust 2 blocks away. The pool area on the rooftop was great and fairly quiet but the bar was never open. We did get a drink from the bar in the hotel and took it to the rooftop. Overall a great stay!

The location is very accessible with public transport which is amazing, I can recommend getting a Travel Card if you will be doing activities and day trips around the city of Barcelona. The hotel staff was amazing, they spoke English very well (compared to the restaurant staff, whose English ability was a lot less). There are 8 floors (2 underground) and 2 lifts. The restaurant, reception and swimming pool are on the ground floor. The pool is accessible by stairs or a ramp. The pool is a little on the small side when it is busy but it is perfect when there aren't too many people. The gym is next to the pool, I haven't used it but there were 4 or 5 pieces of equipment. Our 3-person bedroom had 3 beds, a tv, 2 nightstands, a cupboard including a small safe. The bathroom had a shower, bath, toilet and basin. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

The roof top pool bar is absolutely amazing and a beautiful place to sit and have drinks, with fantastically friendly staff, however the pool is quite dirty and needs a good clean. Stopping people having drinks around the pool isn’t the solution the silly inverted showers which shoot up water don’t help as no one knows they are there and they are completely inadequate and no one uses them. We reported the Ice machine on the 8th floor not working when we arrived and was told it would be sorted. We left 3 days later and it was still not working. The location of the hotel isn’t bad, as it’s pretty central but you almost certainly will need to use taxis to get to anywhere you want to go. The worst part of the hotel is the clientele. During our stay there was a good of lads from France and UK holidaying at the hotel who openly spoke about being drug dealers. It created a bit of a strained atmosphere. On top of this, on two occasions whilst relaxing at the roof top bar some young scallys got up to the roof top pool and were about to cause trouble. One even had a balaclava on behaving erratically. It’s not hard to get in, you can just walk past reception and get in a lift with someone else. On another occasion, when leaving, a guy who looked like he was up to no good came through reception with about 5 or 6 luggage cases. The guy on reception went after him asking for his room number but he refused to give it and played dumb just getting into a car and driving off. If they had proper security they could have intervened and provided a presence needed at this hotel. I still really like this hotel and am glad we stayed here as we did still enjoy it but the management need to get their act together before a more serious incident happens.

Towels changed and bed made daily - The spa was excellent with everything you’d expect and more including Jacuzzi’s, steam room, sauna and the best relaxation room containing heated stone beds! (Not sure exactly what they’re called) Cons - We stayed half board and the food was simply not good. The usual cooked breakfast items were on offer, but the eggs were cold, the bacon fatty and in my opinion, inedible. Dinner was the same set menu for the 3 days we were there. The first night we had duck (pictured) which was a small leg and tiny portion of potato dauphinois, no veg. The second night my sister ordered the chicken curry and wild rice. Her chicken was still pink and the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar; no curry flavour detected. I had ordered grilled chicken and seasoned potato wedges. The chicken was over cooked and unseasoned as if someone had just put it under the grill and left it. The waiter did offer her an alternative , but we were not willing to risk it. There was no evidence that a chef or even an average cook had been anywhere near any of the meals we were offered. We decided to eat out on the third night. - The biggest con was the fact that the hotel was very near to a night club which meant no sleep for us until the partying stopped at around 4.30am! Obviously, this would not be a problem for those visiting Barcelona in order to party, but for us it meant an otherwise great holiday ended with us feeling the need for another break to sleep!

1. I was sleepless 4 out of 5 nights because of mosquitoes in the room. I have kept the windows closed and can only assume that the cleaners might have opened the windows.
2. I keep having an issue with the key card, having to go back to the reception EVERY time I wanted to open the door. I have kept the card separate from my phone and credit cards.

|0.51km from BogatellWe stayed at this hotel at Barcelona and it was a new experience. Pros : The hotel has a Lobby with 2 attendants 24 hours which is good. They were nice and informative. They allow you to keep bags at the lobby inside lockers with keys in case you check in early or need to store your bags after checkout for the rest of the day. Price, wasn't cheapest option but was below average at this high season at the city. CONS: 1.Rooms are Very small. It felt more like a narrow cell. Like sleeping inside a Walk In closet. A narrow 1 m hall with 2 bunk beds leading to a bathroom. If you have luggage and use the hall to open it, you have to jump over it to move. 2. Bed was hard, not comfy. Pillows flat. 3. Light turns off every certain amount of minutes. They have timers and all is controlled from the front desk downstairs. At 12 they come off. Even if you are using the room. You have to call the front desk and ask for them to turn them on. There is no phone in the room. You have to go outside to call. 4. The rooms are not Sound Proof. All the street noises come in to the room: cars, people talking,, trucks, bangs... Etc. Even though the street. Really disturbs your sleep. 5. You can't control room temperature. Another thing the front desk controls is how cool your room is. If you feel to hot you got to ask them to turn it down. So many things that supposedly claimed to be ”Smart and Green” are really annoying and uncomfortable to the guests. They keep their Costs low. 6. No drinking water fountain. You can buy from a vending machine or serve yourself a glad of tap water. 7. No Towels. You want one? Pay 4 euros at the front desk for each. Im sorry, but I didn't enjoy my stay at the hotel. All the modern features save money to the owners but it comes with sacrifice from the guests.

There are subway and light rail stations within 350 meters of the surrounding area. After walking through it once, you will find it very convenient to get in and out once you have the direction.
Tourist Attractions: The hotel is 800 meters from the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Bus No. 21 has 2 stops. Other scenic spots are accessible by subway and bus. Extremely convenient.
Catering service: No breakfast, you must bring your own. There are several super small supermarkets scattered around, which are only at the level of a canteen. But just 2 stops away from the light rail, there is Carrefour, which can solve all your food and drink problems.

The “shared module” was a small 4 bed space inside a larger room with 2 more modules (and yes you can hear everybody from the other modules too unfortunately). Each module has its own bathroom where the toilet is separate and lockable but the shower area (with a curtain) and sink area is not lockable at all. Nor is the door to your “module” so any of the 12 people that have a key to your room could walk in at any time. This left an uncomfortable feeling for me and not having a lockable door in the module was also not great especially when others in the room were noisy. However, I found the staff very friendly. I liked the 24/7 reception which was reassuring and the location is good. The bed was comfortable. For the sake of adding a lock to the bathroom so that we can have a shower in private I think that wouldn’t cost much and be a big improvement so please do take this onboard. It seems that other reviews have also highlighted not being able to lock their “private module” areas too so hopefully you’ll take feedback and make improvements as it’s a shame that these small things are letting you down. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend to others if these minor improvements (but major concerns) are addressed.

|0.8km from BogatellThe ambient is good but you need a decent service as well, especially regarding room and bathroom. I choose to pay more to have a bed in a shared 4 bedroom instead of 8. This what I found: no heating, cold room because the a/c wasn't working properly (daily temperature outside was 9° and 4° in the night), no linen to cover my body under the duvet (it's supposed somebody else used the duvet before me so it's not hygienic I cannot separate my body from the duvet with a linen), no automatic locker (you need a locket but they didn't inform you before when you reserve), the height available under the upper bed is not enough ample (I hit my head hard when I doubled my knees to access the locker under my bed. Same problem when you wake up, if you forget the height is not enough between the 2 beds you inevitably hit your head. Very unpleasant.), no personal bed light as normally available in all other hostel I visited. Bathroom and shower for men are separated, while for women are all together. Why, I wonder this difference? Why women always are treated better? It's not supposed we are equals? Well, I'm really unsatisfied and I suggest you, people, to avoid this hotel. Management is running it with the typical Catalan mentality: very greedy. They give poor services so they can have better profit. Not acceptable!!!

It has so many good things going for it - lovely staff, nice breakfast, great lounge for working or relaxing, comfortable rooms - but someone has stopped investing in this hotel. I have stayed here now on numerous occasions and there are continuing stupid problems 1) the internet should work everywhere and should be fast and effective (its not and this is a problem particularly if you want to work from your room) 2) someone should do something about the housekeeping staff having to use the guest elevators given that there are only two and at peak hours are regularly full of housekeeping trolleys 3) there should be mini bars/fridges in all rooms - it’s ridiculous thats its a guessing game as to which room may or may not have one 4) on my third visit in 6 weeks and there is still the same lack of availability of channels that are not Spanish (in other words all non national channels dont work and the maintenance staff dont know how to fix it - might I suggest therefore paying the subscription?). Am due back here again in a few weeks but I don’t expect any improvements - such a shame.

Rooms spacious, housekeeping staff do a wonderful job and keep the rooms clean. 10 minutes walk to Bogatel beach and then to Barcelonetta beach. If you have problens walking get a taxi to a 'hop on and off' bus, that way you can see the whole of Barcelona. Literally 2 mins away are all the lovely restaurants and shops you need. Good sleep in the hotel and the roof top pool has a360 degree view of the whole of Barcelona. Ansolutely fabulous 3 days in this hotel.A big thank you to all the smiley staff.

The rooms are very small but small and are designed to be easy to use. The bedding and chairs are of good quality and very comfortable. The quality of the bedding and furniture is higher than the five-star hotel we stayed in Dubai, and it seems that we are considering the comfort of our customers. There is also a city bus right next to the hotel to Park Guell. It's a shame that the kettle and tea aren't there, but it wasn't a problem as it was about a 10-minute walk to the Bole district where delicious bars and cafes are open until midnight.

|0.85km from BogatellBarcelona is a beautiful city, but the Holiday Inn Express experience we had was terrible. I'm giving 2 stars only for the location which was near to the 'Llacuna' metro station. Otherwise, it only deserves 1 star. We went there in April 2022, and the weather was hot. Before finalizing the booking, we saw that the hotel had mentioned 'air conditioning' in the amenities. Only after seeing that did we finalize the booking and paid for it. But after reaching there, we discovered that the hotel room was hot and suffocating. We were told that the air conditions of the entire building offer either hot air or cold air, but at one time! So, there's no way to switch a 'room's' particular air conditioning, which was insane. We thought opening the windows would solve the issue, but hell no. The noise from the road didn't let us sleep for even one night, out of the three nights we were there at. We asked for some sort of compensation, but the managers only offered us two free drinks at the bar. Is that some kind of a joke? We said nothing more, and only stayed outside in the city for most of the time, as staying in the hotel was the 'last thing' we were looking forward to. Even the breakfast was substandard compared to what we have had at other hotels in Europe in the past. This was an eye-opening experience for us, as we vowed we would never book a holiday inn, inside Europe now! There are much better hotel chains, offering more amenities at similar prices. We got duped by the brand name. Not anymore!

|0.86km from BogatellThe service is bad as we requested to keep and stay our luggages at the hotel after the check-our. We just had two luggages (30” & 26”), the lady of the receptionist asked the guest to take luggage (impolitely). The first time, I’m fine to “help” her to move it to the store room. The second time I wanted to pick it out and she ordered me saying come to pick your luggage....well...I ignored her and finally she picked our two luggages to us...the walking distance from stored room to us just within 1 min walk...I was wondering why she couldn’t do that and her attitude was not good and impolite. Anyways. No next time!!
