I first stayed at Sydney Hilton in 2006 and the quality is still of that high standard after many years. It’s always great to meet good people, I always look forward to be welcomed by reception staff. On this occasion, Alisa was exceptional. When I asked for a specific room, which was unavailable, Alisa offered a room upgrade, which came with executive lounge access. This was greatly appreciated, as the Lounge on the 36th floor is one of the highlights of staying at the Hilton. It really did make my stay much more memorable. Well done to reception staff, and Alisa particularly. Good job.

The security access using the room key card with the elevators made me feel very safe. High speed elevators very smooth and fast. Suite was spacious as advertised. High elevation suite worth the extra cost. The view makes just being in your room an event. Coffee machine with espresso pods, sugar, and fresh cream in the fridge tasted great. Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card. A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been. Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.From$90

What a relieve when I checked into the Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney! Had a total rip-off by the Sydney Harbour Marriott two blocks away. Marriott is 3-star pretending to be a 5-star. Radisson is a 5-star presenting like a 5-star. Radisson is miles ahead in every aspects compared to the Marriott, Room amenities are so much better, newer and modern, and breakfast is way better too! Bathroom with a tub is a joy compared to the Marriott that don’t even have a door separating the shower.From$172

The directions to the parking was extremely poor, no mention of a lift being used or what to expect. I suggested a flyer could be done to answer any questions for customers needing to use the car park service. There was little to no engagement of the staff about this and were only able to restate the poor information that was already given. I felt like a number and not a paying customer. Had a staycation for one night on Friday 7th October as a surprise for my partner’s 40th birthday. We loved it! We were really impressed with the service and the quirky aesthetics. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly. We were given complimentary drink vouchers for the Gowings bar but unfortunately didn’t have time to go so we will be back soon for a drink! Definitely felt more like a more personalised boutique hotel experience compared with some of the big name chain hotels that have more of a standard corporate vibe. I booked the QT king room with breakfast included and we ended up staying in a room on the 10th floor which felt spacious and luxurious and had a view of the QVB. Felt very sound proofed, couldn’t hear any outside noise at all. Pillows were a little soft but the giant king bed more than made up for that. Really liked the option of having breakfast downstairs or room service. We took advantage of having the breakfast delivered (I ordered via the QT app) and the food and coffee were both surprisingly good. We have decided that QT Sydney will be our staycation hotel for special occasions. Looking forward to our next stay! From$186

I had booked two 3 BR suites. We have all stayed there before and enjoyed the location, size of the suites etc. However this time we had some serious concerns and none of the 10 people in my party are likely to stay there again. We arrived at 3 pm to check in – the advertised time. Our suites were not ready but we were told it would be 10 minutes until one of them was. It was almost an hour and a half! Then the second one was ready about another 20-30 minutes after that. This was completely unacceptable. We were given a key to the arrivals lounge and assured there would be tea, coffee etc available. It was a small room, with multiple groups squeezed in, and with no access to running water, so the coffee machine etc were not much use. The two units were OK, but very tired looking – especially the couches. For the price we paid, we expected better. There had been some mix up with my credit card when we checked in, and it turned out that I was charged twice for one room, and reception rang TWICE at around 10 pm to talk to me about it. Business and family travel.
We live in Western Sydney and decided on a night out in the city with some family. My partner works in the city, so convenient hotel location to the office and all other major shops and restaurants. Basically everything at your doorstep. Our room was ready by 12pm so my daughter and I were able to check in which was handy so I could drop off our bags. First time ever for us to have a complimentary mini bar stocked with drinks we like so we took full advantage of that! That's was a lovely surprise, thank you Grace Hotel! We booked a room with 2 double beds so we could push them together so we had a big bed to share with the little one sleeping in between us. Just easier than using a cot. I'd say she's more comfortable.
If we stayed longer we would've made use of the robes, the slippers and the dining.
Not our first time staying at the Grace and definitely won't be our last. Thank you again for the hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel!! 👌 ⭐️👌⭐️👌From$145

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂From$121

I stayed for three nights, except for the pain of moving luggage, and the foreigner's service attitude was ok. However, it started to rain the next day, and when I slept, I found that there was a little water dripping from the ceiling on the bed. Although there were not many, the sleeping position was much smaller. We told the front desk the next morning and they said they would help us change a room. Because we were in a hurry to go out, we didn't let them change immediately, but when we came back in the afternoon, we found that they had changed our rooms and moved everything from our original room to the new one. Their work efficiency is good, but since we didn't tell them before we went out that they need to help us move things, they took the initiative to move our unpacked or open luggage to a new room. In this way, when we picked up the luggage, we found that the luggage was messy (they simply covered the luggage with the zipper in the middle compartment), and took some time to rearrange it by ourselves. Although I didn't lose anything, I was still uncomfortable.

Upon entering our room we were greeted by a musty smell, which would make sense as there was mould from the top of the window to the ceiling. From there it got even better- Threadbare carpets, cobwebs, thick dust covering the tv, bed lights and headboard, filthy fridge that has obviously never been wiped out, stained linen, bathroom sink with the plug jammed so it was unusable...the list goes on! If it wasn't quite late when we arrived and we weren't leaving early in the morning I would have found alternative accommodation...even my 11yr old was disgusted and wanted to leave as it was, in her words, unsanitary! Absolute disgrace to the Ibis/Accor brand. The only positive was the free parking.

During my stay, there was so much uncertainty due to abrupt changes of border restrictions and almost last minute flight cancellation. The accommodation is also very near to the train station (a slight drawback is that the noise of the train may disturb your sleep but that is not of a concern for me as I usually have deep sleep)!

The only downside is that they don’t have a restaurant for dinner but luckily we found Lachlan’s a mere 300 metres away that had a delicious menu for dinner. A mere 20 minute taxi ride to the Accor Stadium made it the ideal location for us. The breakfast dining room was well presented with a very good range of cooked and buffet food.

So if your stay is more than 3 days, then good luck in keeping your room tidy and clean - Balcony was not so clean and saw dried up bird droppings on the glass. From the looks of it, it has been there quite sometime - Some of the utensils are not clean. For instance, I took out the knife from the drawer and it was oily and looked dirty

The hotel is 5 minutes away from offices, Macquarie Centre and train stations. Absolutely perfect for my work trip. There were some positives. Rooms are fine, completely what you would expect from a business hotel. Bed was comfortable, there was a TV that I never used, space to put luggage and hang up your clothes, a table and a chair etc. However, it goes down hill from there. I'll list the negatives 1 by 1: 1. One pillow had a very strong odour coming from it. Smelled like bad musty BO. I literally had to move the pillow into the cupboard as I couldn't stand the smell. However, this meant that I could smell this musty smell every time I came in and out of the room. 2. 1 of the provide bath towels had a big hole/tear in it. 3. Housekeeping made an error and did not provide shampoo but instead 2 conditioners. Easy enough, I called up reception and they said I have to come down to the reception to get it myself. Fine, went down and was given 1 bottle of shampoo. I went back upstairs to shower only to find that the shampoo given was pre-opened/pre-used. Terrible. After my shower, I went back down to speak to another receptionist who was apologetic and gave me 2 bottles of shampoo. 4. On my second day, I realised housekeeping had not come in, so I went down to speak to the reception again and was told that because of COVID, they only do housekeeping on after the 3rd day of your stay which made it null and void for me. 5. Fitness centre was adequate but they did not replenish the towels and did not clear used towels regularly. On my second day, I had left a used towel on the side as the bin was full. On my third day, the bin was still full and my previous towel still sitting there in the same position I had left it in. Forth day, no more clean towels. 6. If they were so concerned about COVID, they would have more regular cleaning of public areas like the gym and in the hall way where an empty glass and cup set for 3 whole days. The lack of cleaning in public areas to me is unacceptable in the hospitality industry now. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone given my concerns above, especially the lack of cleanliness while we are dealing with an epidemic.

▪️Going up to the room, it is a hotel-style residence as soon as you enter it, and you will feel like home. Although it’s not very big, but it’s something that a house company has, and every hotel will have it 🏠
▪️The bedding is clean, and there is no dirt on the surface. There are 2 pillows provided on the bed, but there is one available in the closet.

There are large shopping malls near the hotel, there are many restaurants (there are 2 food courts, large supermarkets (at least 3) and other shops. We walked for several hours and did not finish. Of course, we have half an hour to go I went to Shiye 😝

▫️ There are 2 Australian-style three-pin sockets on one side of the bed, and no socket on the other side. There is no USB socket in the same system, so remember to bring it before you go🔋
▫️The working space is relatively small, just an ordinary desk 📚

Not mentioned when booking online that this is an unserviced room, and that you are expected to take your rubbish out (couldn't find the chute- not marked). Scant supplies- only setting for 4 (apartment was booked for 5), with only 2 glasses and 4 plates, 4 sets of cutlery. Not enough dishwashing powder to use the dishwasher. Disappointing, as it looks quite nice on the outside. Positives: has a pool, netflix (when it worked),outlook if not facing main road is green, apartment size good. Overall, has so much potential but just felt tired and out of date. When I tried to ring reception (during business hours) re internet, no answer. Not what I was expecting for the price I paid- all up nearly 1200 for 3 nights.

|7.82km from CheltenhamRecently renovated from the old Killara Motor Inn, this motel has some real advantages - clean rooms, a great location ~10 minutes' walk away from the Lindfield station, plenty of parking just off the Pacific Highway, and a terrific little restaurant serving up-market Japanese cuisine. Disadvantages of highway noise and external access to rooms (although well protected by a roof) are minor downsides, but you might ask for a room at the back with views south-west. There aren't many options if you are staying in the central north shore area - Chatswood and Macquarie are further away and much more expensive, and few local pubs offer accommodation.

|8.82km from CheltenhamWe stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Location was great. Woolworths and fast food options across the street. The service from Jack was excellent. He went out of his way to make sure me and my family were comfortable. Rooms were outdated but the suite was nice, and everything was well cleaned. Look forward to our next stay.
