We were in town for the Christmas markets which is one of Germany's best. Well, we couldn't have picked a better place to stay than here. The hotel opens directly upon the central square which is where one of the markets is located. The other major market is just a few steps further across the street. Unfortunately, we weren't given a view room and our room really didn't have a view, but it was comfortable with all the amenities you might expect. We were traveling by car so a big plus was the underground public garage with direct elevator access to the hotel.SOLD OUT

The breakfast is very good, the room is spacious, the surroundings are excellent, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House are all within walking distance, and there is a large shoppping mall across the street, which has a lot of brands and a lot of food. Hotel service and environment are very good, check in is very smooth, the front desk staff is polite and humorous. The room is fully equipped, the curtains are very good for shade, the mattress is moderately soft and hard, and there are additional disinfection and epidemic prevention measures during the epidemic. Vaccine passports will be checked and information registered before meals, and the dining environment is very quiet. We stayed in this hotel twice during the last month. The first time we had a little suite on the top floor of the Bastei. This was fine, if a little bare. Checkin and breakfast were fine. The second time we found ourselves in the annex, the Konigstein. Check in at the Bastei was poor with 20 minute queue. The annex had a fast food stall across the front and entry is by room card. The lift was dirty when we arrived and smelled of vaping and did not work properly. The impression is of an unmanned operation. The room was on the 6th floor and was noisy during the evening, from the very busy street below. At breakfast we were instructed to sit at a table already occupied by another guest and the staff member was aggressive with us saying the nicer tables were all for groups. No sign of these by the time we left of course. Also over-zealous table clearing, go to the buffet for more and your cutlery and coffee are gone. So better check in, maybe safes in the better rooms, and some serious staff training about customer service, rather than bullying.From$65

We spent seven nights in Dorint Dresden for a private stay in Dresden. A major advantage of this hotel is its traffic-friendly location: the old town with its attractions is in a footing distance, the tram driving in Dresden at close distances holds almost outside the door. The hotel itself is not new, but the public areas make a well-treated impression and our standard room to the indoor courtyard on the second floor was clean, spacious and very quiet. The room design is originated from another time, which has not disturbed us, but modernisation should necessarily be accompanied by additional sticks. The service in the house was professional, the staff were friendly and accessible to the guests' concerns at any time. The breakfast offer was in line with the ”international standard” for a hotel of this category, the fresh egg food and the associated supplements were much better than in many other hotels. Critically, the great offer of sauce and bakery products in Dresden and the surroundings was only extremely limited - backbrushes, cutting etc. were acceptable standard products as they exist everywhere, But with which you don't even get off. Damn. The high prices in the deep garage (17 Euros per day) criticized in other reviews can easily be handled with a 10 Euro cheaper parking behind the hotel. However, this price policy is incomprehensible. On the house policy of non-cleaning of rooms for sustainability reasons, note: The daily cleaning of rooms can be logged in at check-in - you are explicitly asked by the receptionist - that then works without any mistake. It is only strange that Dorint does not give incentives to refrain from cleaning - targeting a bad consciousness is rather contraproductive. Finally, the daily opening of the bar in a well-booked hotel should be obvious. The bar staff makes a great job. Overall, Dorint Dresden is very recommendable for a short stay, even if there and there is still ”air up”. We would come back.From$93

This hotel was chosen for its location near the old city. The hotel is new and everything is very bright and cheerful. The rooms are somewhat smaller than other Melia hotels, but this may be due to the Innside branding. However, the room certainly served us well. We could walk everywhere that we wanted in Dresden. It was also conveniently located near a Lidl grocery store where would get snacks and drinks. With its location to the Altstadt, there were restaurants everywhere. The Dresden Frauenkirche was just a few steps from the hotel. We booked our room with the included breakfast. The breakfast was very good, and there were adequate selections. This hotel proved to be an excellent choice for Dresden.From$100

Slept like a log and rarely disturbed by any noises from the outside such as trams/motorbikes. Neither did I hear a thing from the adjacent rooms/the room on top of me. I suppose it's the addition of the inner room door that made the soundproofing better, and perhaps quality carpet was used. Aircon is great, with a great sized minibar. Overall one of the best hotels I have stayed.From$83

Easy 15 min tram from the Hauptbahnhoff and, as others have noted, highly accessible to both the old and new towns. Don't miss the old-town-sights but as others have mentioned check out the new town as well. Louisenstrasse is about a 10 minute walk but gives you a great neighborhoody feel w/ lots of little eateries, shops and the like. The first night we ate dinner in old town at a touristy place and I wish we'd explored here instead! Anyway, back to the Bilderberg... rooms are a reasonable price and nicely updated. Overall the location feels central but we also got a quiet night's sleep. Apparently there is a rave across the river most weekend evenings that peters out about 10pm with a fireworks display which we could see from our room. Breakfast was worth the upcharge. Would stay here again or recommend to others.From$82

We have checked in with friends and parents for 3 nights. I wrote by mouth months ago that I wish the suites are next to each other or nearby. Unfortunately, it didn't work, although we were already there at 13.30 clock, and the check at only 15 clock. You didn't show any interest in clarifying that. After we were able to get our suites , we were drawn attention by the young man to the fact that we have to pay immediately ( 3 pairs - 6 people ) . We had to indicate our credit card as a guarantee when booking and could not understand why we had to pay immediately. After paying, I went to the Felix Bar, which is part of it. I ordered drinks there. When I wanted to pay, I was asked if I wanted to write it to our suite. I answered that I had to pay everything so urgently at the arrival. I then paid the drinks in cash and I didn't go to this bar with our friends. To coffee .... I asked in advance by email whether we had the coffee capsules in the room. Then I was told that it has a lot of it available in all kinds. We had a xxl suite with 2 bedrooms to four and had tea capsules and only 2 coffee capsules in the room - a great breakfast 🙈 We then bought in the corner of the capsules in the rewe . The room was never controlled all day, waste was full, toilet paper was not enough, etc ... Very bad, the location is great, the facilities are OK, but the staff is untrained and totally unmotivated. Probably the staff of the bar, who then beside a little at the reception will enjoy. SOLD OUT

Beautiful property with underground parking located within walking distance of the old town. Stunning bedroom (upgrade given) which was well furnished and very clean. Welcome drink was offered on arrival. On arrival there was water, fruit in the room. There was a kettle but very small quantity of tea/coffee which was not replaced on the 2nd day. We were very honoured to meet the GM Herr Ralf Kutzner. He invited us to cocktails in the bar were we had a very interesting conversation about careers, travel experiences etc. An extremely enjoyable time. Thank you. We had dinner on our second night in the restaurant and it was a very enjoyable experience. We loved Dresden & would always stay here if we return to the City.From$168

|3.18km from city centerNeben dem Entree eine schmuddelige Raucherecke, klebriger Boden, Abfall, Kippen, ein überlaufender Aschenbecher. Das Check-in kühl, der Rezeptionist hochnäsig. Ebenso kühl die nüchternen Hotelflure mit dem Charme eines Krankenhauses, nur bei weitem nicht so sauber in dieser ehemaligen 'Holiday Inn' Immobilie. Perfekt dazu passend das Bad: Klein, ungemütlich, mit abgenutzten, ausgefransten Handtüchern; vom Zimmer der Ausblick auf die Rückwand des 'Best Western' nebenan. Die schmalsten Betten mit den unbequemsten Matratzen, die ich jemals in einem Hotel ertragen musste. An Durchschlafen nicht zu denken - ab der 2. Nacht kommen zum Schlafmangel noch heftige Rückenschmerzen - in der 3. Nacht dann wohl ein Geheimnis gelüftet: Meine Matratze liegt, gut kaschiert von der Bettwäsche, direkt auf einer nackten Sperrholzplatte. Reparatur ? Standardausstattung ? Was soll dieser Pfusch ? Kein Room-Service, keine Reinigung - auf Bitten erhalten wir zwei abgezählte Päckchen Instant-Kaffee für den Wasserkocher. Am 3. Morgen läuft das geschmacksneutrale Kaffeegebräu durch die Böden der aufgeweichten Pappbecher - neue gab's natürlich nicht. Rein optisch immerhin stimmig zum übergelaufenen Abfalleimer direkt darunter, nach drei Nächten ohne jeglichen Service ... Stop ! Mit Corona-Maßnahmen zum Schutze unserer Gesundheit lassen sich diese inakzeptablen Zustände weder erklären noch kleinreden, denn: In allen anderen Hotels in Sachsen auf derselben Reise, im selben Zeitraum erlebten wir exzellenten Service sowie perfekte Sauberkeit, trotz gewisser Einschränkungen und bei einwandfreier Berücksichtigung aller erforderlichen COVID-19 Maßnahmen. Dies waren allerdings echte 'First-Class' Hotels ... weiterer Kommentar: Überflüssig.

|1.1km from city centerThis hotel is in a charming traditional baroque area of the Neustadt rather than the tourist dominated Altstadt. The area is quiet and our room especially so because it overlooked the inner courtyard. Bedrooms are a good size with traditional styling matching the era of the building. Our bathroom was adequately equipped but disappointingly small for a hotel of this quality. Our main, and fundamental, criticism of this hotel was that breakfast was not available in its own breakfast room as stated on its website and booking confirmation. It was instead provided at the neighbouring sister hotel, the Bulow Palais; fortunately for us the weather was chilly but fine for the morning 150m walk. The enhanced Palais breakfast was superb, with exemplary table service for cooked meals and a huge variety of delicacies at the buffet. It was provided at the Residenz price but that does not make this unannounced change acceptable. With online communications available, we should at least have been told about the changed breakfast arrangements in advance; failure to communicate is unacceptable in this standard of hotel. Accordingly, and at best, we can therefore only rate it average.

Service at the reception was great, quick and professional. The rooms are modern, everything is new and extremely clean with a nice river view. I really liked the modern design. Location, can’t be better, facing the church, get full vision of the street, particularly in the morning when the streets are still quiet and empty. All the highlights are all walking distance. Lots of options of restaurants in the area;
Facility is clean and well maintained, and everything you need is can be found in the room. Suitable for family travel with children as well. We found it very comfortable in the room, and we slept very well. Once the window is closed, you won’t be bothered by the outside sound.
The city is very nice, we are very glad that we spent one night here in such a great place.

Einzig die Zimmer und die Betten waren ok. Wir hatten ein Angebot mit zwei Übernachtungen und einem dazugehörigen 3-Gänge Menü gebucht. Schon die Tischdeko war schwach, das Besteck falsch angeordnet. Das war zwar nur eine Kleinigkeit, aber bei so einem renommierten Hotel darf das nicht passieren. Eine Schiebegardine im Speiseraum hing nach unten. Das Menü könnte auch aus einer Kantine stammen, einfach einfallslos. Das Frühstück war soweit ok.

Within 10-15 minutes you can also walk to various restaurants in the quite beautiful Dresden district. Before the hotel you can sit a cozy evening and drink something. The rooms are already a little used to and not of size 4-Sterne-Standard. The bathroom is large enough and clean. At late arrival I found that other rooms have no room card anymore and therefore could not leave the room at night, an absolute NoGo. But overall price performance is okay.

Very good location, not in the center but few steps to the train station Dresden-Neustadt, tramway in front of the hotel and also around the corner, 5 min to the Barock Viertel with lots of restaurants and bars and approx 15min walking right into the center/ old town. The hotel itself is shabby. A little old
The place is dirty: there is dust on the bedside table and the walls in the hallway are scarred. need to repair.
I like the bathtub: a complete bathtub (not a shower), underfloor heating-good.
There is a free bar in the room))))
I didn't bring breakfast, I can't appreciate it. The lobby bar is open until late and has a pool table. There is a small aquarium with cute reptiles in the lobby.
