I contacted the hotel to make a confirmation for my brother-in-law's anniversary dinner and was connected to Chamath Gamage, who supported me with a positive attitude & extended to help me out with the reservation since it was a special occasion at the hotel too where seating is limited. Thus being so Chamath reached out to Mr.Denver to seek advise. Within a span of 30 minutes Chamath called me back & confirmed informing me that the reservation is successful & the hotel could have my brother-in-law & his wife to enjoy their anniversary evening at the hotel that evening. I am grateful for Chamath for making the service matter along with a supportive team who was able to facilitate our request midst the special occasion. The room is clean and specious for 3 of us and the lacking only no toothbrush provided, only 2 towels instead we paid for 3 persons. Breakfast was ok only the noodles is not properly cooked as it is still hard to chewed😅. (Still room for improvement)
The main highlights was the service we received from the bellboy Mangala. He is very helpful, approachable and always smiling.
Others then that it is easy to get the public transportation i.e. tuk tuk and car.
Definitely we will be coming back again.

I went there thinking it was a historic hotel, but I was disappointed from the lobby.
The lobby was very hot and the room was full of old and broken items.
The hotel corridor was dark and the floor creaked when I walked on it, so I was afraid that a monster would come out.
And because there were few guests, the dinner buffet was not operated.
The dinner menu was expensive and tasteless.
Fortunately, breakfast was a buffet, so I was happy.
However, the omelet was too salty and burned.
I really hate that kind of food.
This hotel does not do what customers order.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location.
In order to increase cost-effectiveness, it seems that the price of the hotel should be lowered or the interior should be changed to a modern one so that the price is higher.
Change is needed anyway.
I will never look for this hotel again.
And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone around me.From$124

Granbell colombo is the most beautiful city hotel in colombo , It offer really japanese hospitality experience , foods are really tasty , Hotel has most beautiful infinity pool at roof top. That experience is very attractive . Roof top bar is little bit crowded in weekend . But bar staff provide quick service. Also Room has consist with modern features . And Room has bath tab . It is really nice. Overall experience is really worth for money.staff was very friendly. OK Folks once upon time this used to be one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. That was decades ago, this is one of the very few Sri lankan government owned hotel today. This is not so luxurious to match a five star, but a pretty good hotel which fits in well for a three star. There are glitches here and there, it's an old building, you might find the hot water not working or a broken switch, pardon that, the hotel is working very hard to fix those with the little financial resources they have. The staff of the hotel are very kind and hard working. If you request them for something, they will not hesitate to try there best to satisfy your needs. The hotel has undergone a renovation recently and working hard to maintain a good menu of food. Again people are good and hard working but with the financial resources they have, there are limitations. Overall its a good 3 star hotel with a decent menu of food and really polite people. Help them by reserving your rooms with this little place which has a big history, the more guest who visit this place, the more money they get, so they can serve you better the next time your arrive. Be kind when making your reviews, try to look through the eyes of good people here who are trying to make your stay the best ever. Let encourage more people to use thus hotel so they can soon start to cater you with five star perfection. From$30

The location of the hotel is I liked the most, it has a greta view from the room, while it has access to the Mall and the nearby office buildings. It makes it so convenient for business. The staff were amazing, they never let you down, even if you ask them stupid questions or bother them with strange requests. The breakfast was great. Overall, it's okay. The price is relatively cheap in the capital. I thought it wouldn't be a good stay at this price. The overall feeling is okay, but the disposable items are a bit rough. After entering the room, I had to use a mobile phone to light and light to lock the door! Very inconvenient! I didn't like · The feeling of the strict is just, the requirement to pay in dollars (but accept cards), demanded a vaccination certificate (this January 2023, when all canceled as 2 months), on the doors of the inscription that it is impossible to bring guests. The room was spacious well cleaned and sanitized .Our whole stay was relaxing enjoyable and for sure we will be staying here on our next visit as we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. We would like to specially mention about” Shiva” at the front desk who dealt with our booking to the point of checking he is very knowledgeable, friendly and had great customer service. Although the departure was a bit unsatisfying , as when I requested for a late checkout until 1pm I , was informed by the front desk (lady) that I have to pay half the room rate just for an additional half hour as she offered me the departure time until 12.30pm which sounds a bit crazy as the arrival time says 2pm LCO could be charged if the client exceeds this timings . Would appreciate if the management could consider the above request as it could be managed case by case. Overall we were so happy with the service , staff and the hotel.

After days and days in average hotels, it has been a dream to be here. -The service has been great, the receptionist was very professional and friendly. -The room was perfect, it was huge, with an amazing bathroom, a terrific shower and some nice complimentary products such as tea and instant coffee. -TV, Air conditioning, hair dryer, WIFI were great as well. -The location of City Hotel Colombo 02 is good, very close to the centre. This is hotel has no customer service, bizzar laguage been used by the receptionist cum cahsire. Managemt dont care about the customers, they all belive what the reseptionests says. No water, literally there is no water . Specifically towerds in the evening No hot water at all. If you need to have a wash you must call the receptionist and inform . The evilish receptionist name call Janani calls you at 7.30 am and if there is adelay then thats theend of the story. They charge big but not nevern giving daily complimentry water bottles even. If you stay for one night and the bed.linon is good then they will flip the covers upside and down and prepare fro the next customer airrivals. Complimentry towels offerd to customer is beenused to wipe the toilet .customer used towels been used to cleen toilet.floors after wasing the lavatory . No room.service for two days . As per hotel policy they dont change or clen the rooms for days if customer staying. Broken toilet equipments. Most of the rooms in the hotel has cheap hotel itmes such as ,beds and stiff sprin metress ,toilet equipments and ect .is not upto a standerd . Dingy elivator workes sometime and sometine its dont . Per room.one bedsheet and two soft pillows have been given even if there is two custowes stay at room. Overall this place is a horrifying experiance for me .though you have paid money, this is a place you cant expect customer service , they priorities money on the meantime customer is been treated very very bad . Starting from managemnt to ground level staffs . Last but not least price point they selling such a low scaled hotel really high. hence i would like to request tripasvosor to re evaluate the service standerds .

From level-8 room we got a nice view of the city and the Colombo port. Room was comfortable, although not so big. They don't provide dental kit in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good. And finally the location is also very good. It is just behind the historic Dutch Hospital, which is now used as restaurants. It is also walking distance from the Galle face green and One Galle Face mall.

The property is nice, pristine n kept very tidy by its owner Mr. Suresh who is more than eager to attend to ur call if u ever need his attention, n not to forget the lovely garden surrounding the property. Located in the suburbs of Colombo called Nugegoda, rather a short distance from the main town which is well connected by public transport, it gives u an ambience of a village in the town. U have Lots of sprawling eateries around serving Authentic local, Indian n chinese cuisine. Der r lots of cafe's to hang around as well. It will be jus an understatement of sorts if I say dat both times I had a very pleasant stay n it is most likely my permanent address wenever i happen to b in Colombo.
