Our family is carrying two children, so I think the whole is not bad, the space is big enough, the bathroom and the shower room are separate, and the people are more convenient. Hotel location is good, because San Diego is not big. The cleaning person was very caring and wrote a note to us. General facilities, four stars are barely, American breakfast is also general, you can eat.

Overall good. It would be nice to know that unlike other hotels, there is no refrigerator, bathtub, or body wash. I ate breakfast every morning, but the breakfast was not a buffet, and I used the cafe and restaurant on the first floor of Indigo. The taste is about 3.5 points. It's about $12-18, but if you don't have many families, there are many brunch shops around, so it's recommended to go out and eat. It's 30 dollars per person for breakfast, but it's already paid, but at the breakfast restaurant, the price of food is around 10 dollars, so you can order one at a time. I think it was more because I was looking forward to breakfast. Anything else is good. Sound insulation will be fine if it is not very sensitive

We spent 6 nights in total this time in their King Sites. Interior is quite new and modern. Standard breakfast included, till 9:30 though. Comfort and clean room. Free parking. No water fountain. 10-15 mins drive from UCSD. Definitely worth the price. Will consider coming back next time.

This hotel has a noble feel! The friends who went there fell in love, saying they liked it more than Ritz-Carlton in Santa Barbara. I heard that there are many swimming pools, but we only saw one. The hotel grounds are too big, take a walk and take a look. If you are a golfer, you will love the environment more! Its daily activities are also very rich. We participated in a qigong meditation at 9:00 in the morning, and it felt very good. There are free yoga classes and the like. Not boring There are some restaurants to eat and drink ten minutes drive from the hotel. The environment is also super nice in that area, and it feels like a rich area. A hotel worth visiting. I will visit again!

This is an old hotel with rich cultural background, all the staff are very friendly, the room service is timely and in place, the bedding and mattress are very comfortable, the breakfast is not to mention, the weekend menu will be replaced with the brunch menu. All the above advantages allow me to tolerate the only disadvantage of zero view from the window. Parking is valet, there is a cvs at the door, and there is a taco that ranks first in the United States within five minutes' walk, which is pretty good, but there is homeless on the roadside

The location of the hotel is very good, just opposite the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. The room is very new and comfortable, the hotel facilities are good, the gym is big and has a view, relatively speaking, the outdoor swimming pool is too small, the length looks like only ten meters. There is an Italian restaurant on the 19th floor on the top floor, which is very good. Half of the seats are indoors and the other is outdoors. There are many customers, so you need to book in advance

This was a fantastic location on the water front with several restaurants within walking distance. It was clean and very well maintained and the staff was very helpful. A spacious bathroom with all the needed things and very comfortable beds. Wish it had been warmer so I could have used their beautiful pool and more time to enjoy the workout area. A pretty large resort, but with personal attention by the staff. Ground were well appointed. The rooms were very well appointed, beds comfortable, people serving us were pleasant. Would never hesitate to recommend the place. Can't wait to go back. My only complaints as follows - the one bartender at the Tequila Bar definitely wasn't into serving people with a smile. I asked him what beer he had available and he said ”some domestics and some imports”, turned and walked away. That was a turnoff. The other people who served us over the 3 nights were all fine, but not him. Also, we were on the 15th floor, yet surprisingly we could hear conversations down in the pool area, and especially the music playing. I found that as being a little odd. That is the only reason for dropping it down from 5 stars.

There is only one restaurant in the hotel, which serves an American à la carte breakfast. The hotel location is good, in the middle of the gas lamp area, there are many restaurants around, suitable for food. 3 minutes walk to the tram stop. Hotel facilities are not new, but in the United States hotels are pretty good, the old five-star standard in China. The service was great.

We went to the seaport village , old San Diego village , San Diego zoo , little Italy , the can even take you near to the gondola rides . This hotel is pet , kid , business , couple friendly . Restaurants , FedEx , food stores , right outside . Indoor outdoor pool , gym , jacuzzi , Starbucks . Isabella is an awesome receptionist !!! Knowledgeable , friendly . This hotel is carefully paced to give you the best indulgence of the area . Great job guys !!!!

We loved the location. Family of four with 2 kids ages 9 & 10 loved the different pools and husband and I enjoyed the fire pits by the pool. The rooms were modern and up to date. The beds were not comfortable and the lack of pillows made it hard to sleep for someone who is used to minimum of 2 pillows per person. The views were amazing and a lot of exploring to do around the resort.

Great value for a budget traveler. Older motel-style property, but well-maintained with modernized furnishings and bathrooms. Comfortable beds that compare with my more common Marriott stays. I found my room lighting to be a bit disappointing (too dim), no breakfast option, but there are several nearby diners and a Vons supermarket are within 5 mins walking distance. The location is not central to much unless there’s a sports event at the arena, but it’s easy to get places by Uber or a pretty decent mass transit network (if you have the time…. As it could double or triple your travel time) The MTS route 8 bus stops right out front. We went all the way to Torrey Pines Beach for $2.50 each way (bus 8 to Old Town, blue trolley toward UTC, then the 101 to Torrey Pines State Park for a hike with great views!). And, in only about 60-70 mins, and we’re able to fit in a trip to LaJolla cove on the way back.I

This hotel is very well located by the sea, very close to the Sea World, and the hotel has a shuttle bus to Sea World every day. The room we booked was the cheapest room, the room type was similar to the motel in the United States, the room was clean, two queen beds, air conditioning, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and safe. Breakfast is a buffet of $15 and there are not many varieties. There is a parking lot to pay. The service staff was very good. I was afraid that we could not find the room. We also took us in the past and the language exchange was very patient. In short, we were very satisfied.

🗺️Location: There is an office area around, but there is a small mall opposite, which is very convenient for shopping and eating. The only inconvenience is that the hotel door is on a one-way street, and it is a bit troublesome to go back to the hotel on the other side. 🌳Environment: The floor is very high, there is a large swimming pool on the garden floor, and there are sofas and bamboo chairs outside the lobby on the first floor, which looks very comfortable. 🏨Facilities: After all, American hotels are old, so the facilities are not very new, but passable. There is a bar in the lobby, a convenience store, and a business lounge for members. There is no alcohol, only drinks and fruits. 🏠 Room: spacious and bright, with good hygiene. The bedding is very comfortable, and the curtains have good shading effect to ensure the quality of sleep. The bathroom is very new, except that there are no disposable items, (you can ask the front desk for lotion, combs, etc.) everything else is very good. All in all, highly recommended! Very friendly hotel. Because I didn't get a free room upgrade, my parking fee was waived, thank you very much!

Uncomfortable bed which gave me a backache, housekeeping services every 4 days unless you request it, ran out of shower gel and shampoo, room wasn't super clean. Bathroom sink so clogged up I simply used the bathtub to clean up and brush my teeth. Maintenance did correct the issue. When I asked for more shampoo and shower gel I did get a short refill. Balconies are REALLY tiny. Surprise after my trip that I had to pay for parking! This was a pre-paid in full business trip and the fact that you had to pay for parking was an after-the-fact unhappy update. I didn't even have a vehicle the entire time.

The staff was great from the front desk ( Richie), breakfast crew to the lovely bartender ( didn't get her name). The bed was way too soft but the room was nice. There is a complimentary breakfast voucher, Western breakfast, ok. The hotel is traditional Spanish and has a very nice look. The location is very close to the airport in the old town. The old town itself is an attraction. The bars, restaurants and specialty shops are very interesting and very lively at night. I had a good meal with my boyfriend at a Mexican restaurant near the Sheriff Museum. The room itself is large enough but soundproof. American hotel guests should bring their own slippers and toothbrushes because the hotel generally does not provide these.

Tired different drinks and food each night. Our bartender Sharu was amazing and she makes the best Mai Tai’s. The bar staff was excellent along with its servers. We literally stayed for hours by the fire pits outdoors in the nice cool air. We were treated so well. Even by the breakfast staff. Front desk too! It was a real nice ambiance in the evenings by fire pits. They have a nice indoor pool and out door jacuzzi. Breakfast made to order was great. Hotel rooms were nice and comfy and big and clean. Hotel was beautiful and the koi fish are such a nice touch to the place. It’s peaceful and comfiness here. I’ll be back. We will definitely come back for our happy hour beautiful experience. Thank you Sharu fir being you and bringing us smiles and yummy drinks and cheers to you and the staff. Loved being here.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel. They are in a great location close to downtown and other popular attractions. Lots of parking. Fun things to do on-site including a pool and mini golf. Great view from our room. However, we were promised maid service every 5th day of our stay. On the 4th day, we stopped by the front desk to make sure our room was on the list to be cleaned the next day. They assured us it would be. It wasn’t. When we inquired we were basically told too bad, we have other rooms to clean that take priority. So we were left with a stack of dirty towels and overflowing garbage cans in our room. They promised to clean the room the next day. They didn’t. Again, no apologies or reasonable explanation as to why. Long story short, our room was not cleaned the entirety of our visit even after multiple requests and the promise that it would be done on the 5th day. If they are not able to clean the rooms of guests, it then made us wonder how well the rooms are cleaned after people check out… Because of the hotels inability to offer maid service, we would not stay here again. If you’re okay with keeping stacks of dirty towels and overflowing trash cans in your room then this hotel would be for you. For our next visit, we’ll stick with a private rental where we know the expectation is to do our own maid service

Jennifer Rivera-Nichols 1/5 just now on Google I arrived with my mom to check in at this worst San Diego hostel at 1am...ridiculously exhausted. My mom had just paid to park 2 blocks away and we carried armfuls of belongings with us to the hostel. When we arrived, the clerk was like, ”Reservation?” like my mom was speaking Greek. She said nothing and just walked away. Minute later the owner came in and told my mom that I was not allowed to stay there because I'm under 18. She was talking to my mom like a bully. My mom explained to the owner that our room was already paid for, that she had booked it thru hotels.com as a minor + adult, and that it was 1am already...we're exhausted and where else are we gonna get a room at that hour. I kept falling asleep on their staircase during this time because I was so tired. The lady was arguing with my mom about their rules. Meanwhile, the clerk keeps saying to my mom, ”She's just trying to help you.” That's a lie. If they wanted to help, they could have...but they did not. After a heated conversation, the owner says she will allow me to stay. I was relieved. Then 3 seconds later I just heard her tell my mom, ”Nevermind. I don't like your attitude. You need to get off my property.” WTH Really? This mean lady was gaslighting my mom, bullying her, and was mad at us for just for walking thru the door. She could have approached my mom saying, ”Hi, I'm So-and-So, the owner. It looks like there is a discrepancy with your booking. Because we have shared bathrooms here, we don't allow children. I know it's 1am, and hearing this is really stressful, but let's see what we can do to figure this out. Would you be able to accompany your daughter to the bathroom?” Instead she treated my mom really bad like she had done something wrong. We've stayed at plenty of hostels. None of them had a policy saying I could not be there. I was starting to feel really scared that I would not have a place to sleep since I heard my mom on the phone trying to find a new hotel. They were all full or $300. This Gaslamp Hostel owner is anti-children, anti-family, and made me feel like I had caused my mom so much hassle :-( After we wasted an hour trying to check in and get our money back, I tried to cheer my mom up. I was hugging her while she sat on the phone with hotels.com. I told her I could sleep in the car so she would not have to spend more money or be more stressed, but my mom said it's not safe to sleep in the car, and she didn't know where we could park to do that anyway. My mom was crying when we left. We ended up sleeping in a gross motel smoking room. I saw a bug on the table when we walked in. The owner of this cheap San Diego hotel is not a human being. All the next day, my mom was depressed and sad. This occurrence really ruined our entire weekend. Gaslamp Hostel reviews San Diego. Worst San Diego hostel. Downtown San Diego hostel nightmare. NOT the best San Diego hostel--total nightmare. Disaster. Horror story. TripAdvisor Ga

We went for a graduation. Enjoyed exploring Little Italy, Walked to the Midway and Seaport Village, short drive to Balboa Park. My only complaint is that the garage is very narrow and difficult to make the turn to exit. Every time we took the car out it was hair-raising. Breakfast in the hotel was quite good and the help were super friendly. Many delicious restaurants in easy walking distance.

This hotel has a good location. It's two miles from SAN, the cruise terminal, and at the entrance of Little Italy. Harborview is across the street which has restaurants and a park. La Jolla is about 12 miles. Surf Sports park in Del Mar is a 30 minute drive. This hotel is not the newest but in fair condition. The lobby is welcoming. There is a complimentary breakfast with waffles, bagels, eggs, breakfast potatoes, fruit, juice, oatmeal, cereal, and some type of meat (sausage, bacon, etc.) There are several unhoused sleeping and walking around the streets bordering the hotel. The park across the street offers restrooms that are used by the unhoused. Many steps are taken to ensure security - doors locked from 8pm-10am, garage/garage elevators/lobby bathrooms only accessible with room key, security outside after dusk. Be warned. There is a train behind the hotel which runs into the deep night. The west side of the hotel faces Pacific Highway and cars/ambulances/fire trucks run all night long. If you are a light sleeper, pick a room on the north side of the hotel or bring your ear plugs. Also, parking was $40 a night!

I stayed for two nights and I was out every day. I did n’t enjoy the resort service, but I still paid the resort fee. When I drove by car, I parked in a few free parking spaces at the door. A lot. The outdoor pool is beautiful, but closed early

We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay! Room was large and clean, we loved the pool, and the location is perfect - so many restaurant options. Only comment I have is that the room is not cleaned every day; the housekeeping will do the room only if requested at the front desk. And they don’t tell you that when you check-in. Otherwise everything was perfect!

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Samantha. Where do I even begin...Samantha really went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was amazing, and it was. Even on Christmas day, Samantha was so happy, helpful and cheerful. The level of customer service that she provided was phenomenal and she is a great asset to the Hilton team. I will definitely be back. Thank you for making my stay amazing Samantha, I will never forget you!!! Xo

This has easily been the worst hotel room I've ever stayed at in the US. Awful, I guarantee you are better off staying anywhere else. We are a family of three and we have stayed at a lot of 3-star places during road trips (and myself during business trips), this was by far the worst I have ever seen. The layout was a typical king and a sofa bed but the space was absolutely tiny without any room left when the sofa bed was opened. The mattress of the sofa bed was disgustingly filthy (I know because we had to put the linen ourselves despite having booked it for three). There is absolutely no soundproofing whatsoever. None, zero: in the morning we woke up from the neighbouring rooms doors slamming open and close, in the evening you could hear the TV's through the thin walls. And 24h you can hear the traffic from the nearby highway. Breakfast was absolutely minimal (no fruit, no pastry, no cheese). No WiFi access in the room. The pictures showing a large lobby and swimming pool are entirely misleading: the swimming pool is actually small sized. Literally a tiny room at a cheap motel at the price of a 4-star hotel and a miserable experience.

It was our 30 year anniversary . We wanted to walk down memory lane . Doubletree Hilton was the perfect place to do so . The trolley is like 100 ft from the hotel , wow !!!! We were there for 4 days and we only spent $12 dollars on transportation the whole time .

Family vacations are already a challenge and this property did not help. My family and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which I understand is the best room in the hotel. While these are “first world” problems they are still problems. A brief list of issues: A fairly regular commuter train goes past our bedroom window ( room 201 ). I did not know about it until I walked in, but it’s probably somewhere on the hotel website. Shower curtains are either not long enough or there is a leak in both tubs. The floor gets unusually wet after a short shower. Slight smell to the room. Mildew or perhaps moldy smell. They gave us an air freshener. Is this because we are near the water? TVs don’t work. We stayed here for three days and two of the three tvs are not functioning at all. I had to use my laptop for a television. The staff is very nice and appears to be aware of the issues. They even offered to give us a new room but since our stay was short it wasn’t worth the move. The day we arrived, the group (already staying there) came to the front desk after us and said their AC had been out for s couple of days. Maybe I should have taken that as a sign. Not staying here again.

Hotel location is good, not far from the various attractions. There are public transportation in a few minutes, close to the train station. The rest of the night is quiet, and occasionally I hear someone shouting loudly. Will continue to support next time!

The room was clean and organized. It was a little noisy because of the location near the interstate 8. The receptionists are nice. I forgot my staff in my room, and called them to take it for me. They called me back later and kept it for a while. The reason I rated 4 for service is a room services I thought no room service available due to COVID-19, but there was. When I was relaxed in my room, ladies suddenly opened the door to clean. I wanted nobody to enter my room so refused cleaning. After they left, they laughed loudly and talked in Spanish. It was uncomfortable for me... But overall, I like the cleanliness. I’ll stay there again.
