The Ayarwaddy River View Hotel was the first hotel we stayed at in Myanmar. After a lot of travelling to get there, we just wanted somewhere to relax. We found the Ayarwaddy River View Hotel was terrific - they were so welcoming and friendly, it was the perfect place to stay. We stayed in a suite, which was a really big room and had plenty of space for us and our two children - there were two big rooms, plus a bathroom and a good sized room for putting our bags in. The room was airconditioned, had two bar fridges, a safe and TV. The bathroom was a good size and clean. The view from the roof bar/restaurant was excellent - watching the boats chug up and down the river and just to relax. Food was a bit slow at times, but we were never really in a hurry. The roof bar got busy around sunset, so make sure you're ahead of time if you want to get a spot looking over the river. The breakfasts were delicious, which always made a good start to the day. The best thing about this hotel was the service. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and it was never any trouble for them to help make arrangements for taxis, day trips etc. The service here was the best at any hotel we stayed at in Myanmar - it really makes a difference. The hotel isn't located close to a lot of sights, but that's the trade off for the river view. Taxis aren't expensive, so we never had trouble getting around. It is nice and handy to the tourist jetty if you're doing a day trip to Mingun, which we did. The other terrific thing about this hotel was the refillable water bottles. Each guest had a glass waterbottle, which you could refill at various spots around the hotel. Such an excellent idea, because so many small waterbottles end up in the rubbish in Myanmar. More hotels should pick up on this! The hotel also has a pool and there is an ATM right out the front of it, which was super handy. All up, it was a great hotel to start off our trip to Myanmar. I'd definitely recommend it to others. It also felt like you were staying in a hotel in Myanmar - it isn't one of those bland, corporate hotels that could in any country round the world.

Like many people, I always like to read the hotel’s reviews as a reference before booking a hotel. Frankly speaking, when I booked this hotel, I really hesitated. After all, I saw some bad reviews. This hotel is actually equipped with Chinese service (after all, for a person who does not have any foreign language foundation, this one alone is already a great benefit) Based on this, I booked... After moving in, I found that the previous Hesitation and worry are unnecessary. Not only did this hotel not disappoint me, it was on the contrary, far exceeding my expectations. I dare not say that those bad reviews are based on malicious or false, but I dare to say that at least they are unfair...Often, we hope that others can provide us with more value and better service. But often we neglect the value that we provide to others, that is the price. Based on the price, everything I enjoy here can really be described as the value for money: spacious room, fairly rich breakfast , Outdoor swimming pools, recreational areas, and even bands sing...More importantly, almost every staff member here has unpretentious enthusiasm and kindness... I think, at least I should return with the same kindness After all, their enthusiasm and kindness can bring us a pleasant experience and mood, and our kindness may give them the motivation to continue to make the hotel better...

Very quiet, there is no better hotel around this, safe, clean, comfortable, rich breakfast, good service, courteous staff, Chinese dinner can be eaten in the hotel. I was so disappointed that I lost my bag in the restaurant for a long time and remembered that it was kept intact in the customer service center. I went out again at noon, and the door was wide open at night, and there was no shortage of things to check, indicating that the hotel was very safe!

The hotel was used for a long business trip. The hotel has a sky bar where you can enjoy a beer while watching the sunset. There are many Chinese short-term tourists on the weekends, so the breakfast is distracting and complicated, but the friendly staff took care of me to eat without any inconvenience. The location is a little far from the city but not bad. I stayed there for the length of my business trip, staying longer than planned. Recommended hotel.

It is located in quite nearby to Mandalay Palace, but you need to walk quite a distance if you were to enter via the main entrance gate of the palace. The hotel is relatively good, room is clean, wifi is okay in the room, but I do not like the washroom, as the shower place is an open place in the bathroom, hence it will wet the whole room when you take your shower, not unless you shower in the bath-tub. Breakfast is okay, except. they do not serve that enough fruits. During my stay, only banana and papaya were served, and both were to ripe. The mohinga served was quite good. They have a pool with a nice view if you have the time to enjoy. Front desk service is quite good. If you were to come from the airport, you may take airport shuttle van, and they bring you directly to the front entrance of the hotel.

A great, absolutely new hotel (open in April 2019). Booked the room for your fear and risk when there were no photos on the site. The location was not correct on Booking. Real location EXCEPT -- The hotel is located right opposite the northern side of the fortress wall. You can walk on the wonderful (clean, wide, illuminated) fortress quay to the main sights without any problems. The rooms with the same numbers go out on the road, but they have a stunning view on the embankment. The odd numbers go out in the yard, but there is considerably quiet (no noise from the road). The rooms are not big (in Mandala is normal); there is no luxury, but everything is stylish and comfortable. Breakfast is more Asian (we were fitted completely), but the thirsty mountains of sausages and becons will be sad. The view from the restaurant on the roof of "Sky bar" -- just fantastic! I would like to thank ALL staff: More kind guys wanting to help absolutely in any problem (where better to eat / help to take tickets / where to go / what to see), I have not seen any other country (in European or Asian). Specifically: The restaurant was advised to us excellent! ; with the transfer to the next city helped better than we planned -- from hotel to hotel; even in Burmese lesson did not refuse. :-) Thank you very much for your sincerely good reception and unfair service!!!

There is a Chinese-speaking front desk, which is much more convenient. The hotel is old but clean. The room only had blankets. I didn't know what to do in the distance at night. The loudspeakers played music until midnight. Breakfast is very few Western style, most of them feel like Chinese food.

Hotel location is very good, the room is very good for hotels in Myanmar, two floor-to-ceiling windows, breakfast is very rich, the open-air bar on the roof is also very good, look at the good night view, it is important that there is a young lady who can speak Chinese at the front desk. The hotel has a rental, next to a supermarket, nearby 🈶 ️ shopping malls, as well as temples, the sound of chanting can be heard day and night. I will stay in this house next time. When I went to meet a Chinese aunt tour group, it was a bit noisy. I saw that they could take away the buffet breakfast. The hotel is also allowed, very good.

The breakfast is rich, the front desk has Chinese service, free help to call a car, every waiter is smiling, and you can park at the door. The taxi can't find the hotel to call, and the front desk attendant goes out to greet him. There is an attendant to help with luggage when checking in and leaving the hotel, and no tip is required.
