With steps leading directly to the beach - what more could you ask for? You would be renting the west side. The views from this house are incredible no matter which direction you look. Sitting on the highest point of land in Emerald Isle, Cloud Nine is appropriately named, sitting high atop the dunes. The sun rises to the east and sets in the west, over the ocean, making this location one of the only places on the entire east coast that faces due south.The house offers a huge composite deck with PVC railings and a covered sitting area for shade. Stairs offer a short walk to get your feet in the sand. On the main living floor an open floor plan offers a comfortable living room to relax and rejuvenate for another exciting beach day. A large kitchen off of the living room on the main floor is loaded with all of your cooking necessities. On the Bogue Sound side of the main floor, a separate room is tucked away for extra sleeping space. A full bath and washer/dryer is on the sound side, off of the kitchen.The upstairs is all about sleeping space! After a day on the beach or out visiting the plethora of local attractions, there is nothing like a good night's rest. Cloud Nine offers comfortable sleeping for our guests as we have furnished the house for as we will one day live there ourselves. The master bedroom sits off the ocean side and offers a king bed and a large deck with a view that makes you speechless. The master bedroom offers the largest bathroom with windows that show the ocean with every turn.The largest room on the sound side offers a private deck with a view of the ocean and the sound, a queen bed with a twin. The sound side back bedroom offers a full bed, twin bed and plenty of closet space with a great view of Bogue Sound. The middle room at the top of the stairs offers a bunkbed with two twins and closet.Built in 1995 and remodeled in 2012, the house is very well constructed and maintained. Cloud Nine sits near mile marker 15, mid-way mark on the 29 mile island. This proximity allows guests to travel east to discover the local flavor of nearby Atlantic Beach, including a side trip to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, only 8 miles away. Continue on east and follow Route 58 to the end of the road which is home to historic Fort Macon State Park. From Atlantic Beach, a trip across the causeway to Morehead City offers nightlife, sound side dining and local shopping with historic Beaufort only a few miles further east. Traveling west from the house brings you into the town of Emerald Isle in just 4 miles. Adventurous guests can walk to the Bogue Sound pier by beach in about two hours. I recommend walking one way and calling back for a ride and insisting on being taken out to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch since you earned that!! Crossing the bridge at the west end of Emerald Isle is one of the most breathtaking scenes on the island. This short drive takes you to Cedar Point, home of Dudley Marina and the best place for FRESH OFF THE BOAT seafood at Phillips Seafood Market - where the locals go for fresh fish. Drive across another short bridge and enter into Swansboro, one of our favorite places to go. Wonderful people and wonderful restaurants. The closest mall in Jacksonville is only 30 minutes from Cloud Nine, beyond Swansboro.FAQ details-Keurig and Standard coffee makers-Gas grill and a small charcoal grill available for use. - 4 tvs with ROKU and Spectrum cable located in Livingroom, Master, queen room, and bonus rooms. -There are 2 boxes down by the beach on west side with various beach toys and such that you are welcome to use. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee beach chairs or umbrellas will be available so please bring your own or arrange to rent them for your stay. The salt water and air destroys them quickly and we are unable to keep a supply available for renters.- 2 parking spots under the west side of the house and 2 right behind those in the driveway. We do not have boat/trailer parking. -Pack n'play available to borrow-need your own sheets-Need additional baby gear or beach items during your stay? There is also a large collection of books, movies, games, puzzles, and a stereo system all there for your enjoyment.Cook all your favorite foods in the fully stocked kitchen, while you look out the window at the ocean. Dine in and entertain in the large, open living/ dining room. Watch t.v on the flat screen TV, while relaxing on the couch.Step out on the deck the take in the gorgeous views of the beach from both directions. If you watch carefully, you may even catch a glimpse of dolphin swimming by. If the sun gets too hot for you on top, stroll downstairs, where you can enjoy a covered deck that provides lots of shade.One of my favorite amenities with this home is the beach access. There is a wooden walkway directly across the street that leads you straight to the beach. This is extremely important if you are like me, with five kids and it seems like you bring everything but the kitchen sink with you. We always have so much to carry back and forth, that having the convenience of the beach access is priceless.Finally, after a fun-filled day on the beach, put the kids to bed and walk back out onto the deck. Sit back and look at the moon as it shines over the ocean. This view will just put an exclamation point on your day. **Summer rentals require a seven night minimum, those bookings are Sunday to Sunday. Fall and winter stays require a three night minimum.**The Ultimate Dune is just what you're looking for. It's an oceanfront cottage on the wide side of the island with lots of space for your friends and family. Dune boasts its own private beachfront deck with a boardwalk down to the beach. The home came under new ownership in 2021 and has undergone lots of upgrades since then.LIVING SPACESSince Dune was a duplex in the past, there are two living rooms. Each one has smart TVs equipped with Roku for streaming your favorite content. There's a PS4 and a Wii with games for rainy days too. Each side of the house also has a dining space for morning coffee, family feasts, and game nights. There is only one kitchen now and you have full access to both sides during your stay. You won't have to share with any other parties. Dune has a cozy mix of midcentury pieces and up-cycled beachy furniture. 'Ultimately' we tried to give this one-level house a modern take on a late 60s surf shack. BEDROOMS & BATHROOMSThere are five bedrooms, each with their own unique styling:1. West queen suite: one queen, a small ensuite bathroom with small shower, and TV2. West double: a twin bed and pullout trundle and no TV3. West king: one king bed, funky plant wallpaper, and TV 4.
