The hotel is very basic. The photos on Tripadvisor make it look really good but in real life the place is on the edge of shabby. We like simplicity but the rooms are spartan. Little conveniences are missing - like a shelf in the bathroom, a large mirror in the room and a bench for a suitcase. Things like this, that are standard in other hotels, are forgotten here. It has a motel feel. Sounds echo across the hotel and you can hear even normal level conversations. The breakfast is also basic because the kitchen is tiny. There is a steep downhill/uphill walk to the center of town. On the upside, the rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the staff is very helpful. It's a decent enough place but completely unremarkable in every way. If I return to El Calafate I would stay elsewhere.

As the hotel is located on a hillside overlooking the entire Argentinian lake and glacier town, the view is very beautiful. From the hotel to the hotel to take a taxi to the restaurant in the town to eat, the one-way fare is about 150 yuan, about 50 yuan. The rooms in the hotel are clean and tidy, with the atmosphere of a family holiday home with large beds and cots for a total of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. The on-site restaurant and second-floor sofa area are floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the entire Argentine lake and glacier town. The waiters are friendly and the puppies outside the hotel are also very likable (will not enter the hotel to harass the guests). Hotel prices are cheaper than in town. Good value for money! Very good place for family trip ! high cost effective hotel ! lovely dog ! wonderful lake view and city view from the window ! After I stay with my boss for two nights, I decided to bring my family come her again for weekend !

Got rid of my knots and would have gotten another massage but we didnt book in advance so we werent able to. Spa area was unexpected little gem. Jacuzzi and a sauna. The only down side to the hotel was the water pressure wasn't great. Makes a lot of strange noises as well. But this doesn't take away from the rest of the positives from the hotel.

It was a bit tricky regulating the water temperature - hot/cold dials - but water pressure was adequate. No screens on the windows so if you open them to moderate temperature, you could get a fly or two. Housekeeping was solid. Front desk was helpful (restaurant recommendations, booking a taxi to the airport, confirming our excursion pickup). You will most likely be out early in the morning and back in the evening to clean up before heading into town for dinner. As a result, your time in your room is nominal - just to sleep and that's about the best way to get through your stay. If you come during the holidays. expect to pay holiday sized rates!

The hotel is not on the main ***** of town but a short 10-minute walk away, so it's no inconvenience. THE NOT SO GOOD: The level of service was definitely not up to par with the price/category of the hotel. At those prices you expect attentive, effective service and that's not what we got. They seemed overwhelmed and unprepared, and they made various mistakes throughout our stay (prepared the wrong lunch boxes even though we made sure 4 times before that they had gotten the order right, mistakenly gave our room key to other guests who entered our room, etc.). None of it was that important, but their reaction made us feel like we weren't important to them at all - they even said they'd send complimentary gifts to our room to apologize, which they never did (thus making the matter even worse). Overall it's a good choice for lodging in El Calafate as long as you don't have crazy high standards regarding service.

If you don't have earplugs (or you aren't interested in being at the concert yourself!), be aware that you will be up until the music ends as it's very loud. |2.48km from city centerMy husband and I stayed in a standard queen room in January 2020 for 4 nights while on a roadtrip in the area. Positives: - clean room, although part of the bed was broken (the mattress on one side had slightly collapsed) - good wifi - friendly staff - okay breakfast buffet - plentiful, easy and complimentary parking - nice location outside town. The taxis are cheap and easy to use. Negatives: - tried to book treatments at the spa, but was informed it's fully booked. The hotel could inform customers of the need to pre-book before arrival. - the room contained no slippers. Was informed we could get them from the spa but was met by an almost scary lady who demanded a deposit (!!) for SLIPPERS. It would also, apparently, have required filling in forms (:D ). At this point, I didn't know whether I should cry or laugh and decided that the slippers were most definitely not worth the time and effort. - the complimentary shuttle only requires pre-booking TO town and I wouldn't count on using it coming back from town since it appeared to be the survival of the quickest queue-jumper... - two cleaners, on two separate occasions, tried to enter our room even though the ”Do not disturb” sign was hanging on the know and we were trying to sleep. The first try was at 9.30 in the morning! I was absolutely furious. - housekeeping began cleaning rooms at 7 am with zero regard for customers in their rooms. They came armed with extremely loud walkie-talkies so good look having a sleep-in (oh, but that won't be possible anyway as someone will forcefully enter your room even though there's a Do not disturb sign....) - lousy sound isolation between other rooms as well as between the room and hallway. We could hear what TV programme our neighbour was watching and exactly what they were doing in the bathroom. In conclusion, this hotel has great potential but needs to focus more on the small details and the customer experience.

Uber clean areas throughout. Personal power points and light at each bunk plus large slide out storage underneath that you can lock with your own device. Never need to wait for toilet or shower as they have large bathrooms with 6 cubicles and 7 showers for men and I presume for women. Decent breakfast of many types of breads with jam, cakes, cereal, cut fruit, juices and coffee & tea. Had to pay extra for towel. Curtains around each bunk would stop the bright light from one bunk disturbing person in opposite bunk. The images for men and women on bathroom signage are similar. I had to look twice and a girl ended up in the men's shower room when I was there.

The hotel is located on the shores of Lake Argentine, with beautiful scenery and gorgeous sunrise colors! The front desk of the hotel has a service to provide local tourism projects. The lady has a very good attitude and helps our family to arrange the itinerary. The town is not big and has a very breath of life!

|1.09km from city centerThe hotel is nice and clean. Personnel was helpful and attentive any time you needed something. Breakfast was ok. The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk from downtown. The room was comfortable no need to have air conditioning, we opened the windows and felt safe. Our room was comfortable, located on the 2nd. Floor not that far from the breakfast area, but they have a door that is kept shut so you do not hear much noise when they are arranging the area for breakfast. Overall we had a great experience. We recommend you to visit Perito Moreno and Estancia Cristina with the 4 x 4 experience. Thank you!!

|4.49km from city centerThis hotel is some way out of the town. Approximately one and a half hours walk but there is a bus service starting at mid day. The positives first. Lovely views of lake, staff mostly attentive but sometimes difficult to make ourselves understood in English. Good food in restaurant for dinner. Not so good for breakfast. The negatives. The “gym” is not a gym. Home style treadmill with no elevation, two bikes, upright not working. A few very light weights. Room was very poor. No soundproof, you could literally hear every word from the room next to ours and certainly knew when they used the bathroom! Beds basic and uncomfortable. One very thin pillow. We had to put cushions under it and still uncomfortable. No hairdryer in our room. No plug for bath. Towels thin and torn. Very basic amenities and no shower gel. No kettle in room. Finally the checkout time is 10am but we were not informed of this. Had a phone call at ten past to ask where we were. They seemed angry with us. There is a very small notice at the reception desk that was not drawn to our attention when we checked in.

I am a psychotherapist and needed a private space at one point during my stay to have a session with a client who was in crisis. They were able to provide me that space and were quite sympathetic. It was easily walkable to town each day, and we had no problem arranging a tour to take us to the glacier. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us a very nice lunch for the time that we were at the glacier. We dined in the restaurant for dinner two of the nights, and both experiences were wonderful. The food was top-notch for dinner, and the cocktails were also superb! The breakfast each morning, which I believe was included, was absolutely delicious! There were a lot of healthy options provided. I would also like to highly recommend the medical facility that was quite close to the hotel, TMSALUD. I had an issue with my knee and got in quickly to have a consult with Dr. Gimenez, who was INCREDIBLE! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel not only for the accommodations, but for location to all the attractions nearby.

How disappointing. The breakfast was the quality of a hotel one third the price. They could not control guests at 1am from running up and down hallways, partying in rooms. The walls have no insulation, so my wife could hear snoring through her ear plugs, through a wall. The staff were obnoxiously rude. The rooms dated, no free water. At least they were clean. The lobby is nice, the pool beautiful. The chainsaw, mower and other power tools all day outside window, for three days though has been testing. Ask to speak to manager and got nothing. Changing rooms to cheaper one but not getting refundwas also hard. Do not recommend

|0.75km from city centerThe staff was so helpful to us. I accidentally left my camera on the bus, and they spent significant time on the phone with the bus company helping me retrieve it. They were always friendly and helpful, and the best part of this hostel. Another highlight of the hostel is the extensive common area, which is clean and spacious. Soft drinks, beer, and meals are available there, and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The hotel is a short walk, maybe 10 minutes, to the heart of the El Calafate restaurant/bar district. It’s also walkable to the bus station, perhaps 20-25 minutes. The luggage storage was large and very helpful for the 3 days we backpacked near Fitzroy. The private room with private bath was clean and simple. Wi-Fi worked well.

|2.41km from city centerThe Design Suite Hotel is exactly what it is called. It is a very design and very beautiful hotel. It should be the best view hotel in Calafate to see the Lake of Argentina. Each room has a whole window overlooking the lake. While slowly admiring the beautiful lake view, snow peaks, blue sky and white clouds. The restaurant is very beautiful, the breakfast is rich, the taste is good, the service is very warm, and the English is very good. It is very intimate that you can order a lunch set on the glacier hike, and there are oversized sandwiches, apples, water, chocolate pie, and energy bars, which are very worthwhile. Walk along the lake to the town center in about half an hour, and also pass through the wetland park. There are buses to and from the airport to pick up and drop off, following the bus is equivalent to a day trip to the town! All in all, very good value for money.
