Isabelle was an excellent host and the apartment was very comfortable and spacious. The surrounding gardens were a delight too and the apartment is a good walking distance from the thermal lake. Would definitely recommend!

It is very convenient to have two breakfasts and dinners for the money spent, and to go shopping on the pedestrian street. Its price/performance ratio is good! Worth trying again! Also very close to the hot springs, you should come back to the hot springs next time!

Very good hotel, very close to the hot springs, you can walk there, close to the bus stop, and walk for five minutes. The room is also very good, there is a small balcony. The night in Heviz is very quiet and there are very few lights, so you can watch the stars on the small balcony at night, which is great. (Forgot to take the interior of the hotel, only took a balcony)

Very poor quality, I would classify it as a proper tourist rip off. The hotel focuses on the elderly from Austria/Germany and Russia, and charges unreasonable prices, as their primarily focus group is the one with a lot of money and can be satisfied with lower quality of services. Where to start... Already from the outside you will realize something is wrong. The hotel has a proper communist design feel, and the ugly greenish colors don't help to elevate anyone's mood about it. When you get in, almost none of the staff speaks English. All the signs and materials are usually only in Hungarian, Russian and German. And you have Noone to translate to English. All the inside decorations and furniture look like something that my mom bought 25 years ago at discount and all of that ended up a long time ago at charity donations. Also the wooden decorations on the wall and color choices feel like stuck 30 years ago. The standard room (hotel has 261 rooms) is super claustrophobic, leaving just tiny corridor around the bed and being overflooded with old ugly furniture. I think anyone with epileptic tendencies must be super at risk there, if you look at the curtains or the sofas which have a different color and design at every 5cm of the fabric. The room service doesn't put too much effort into cleaning, behind one of the chairs was food left by the previous occupants. Also the amount of dust in the room is on the edge of getting an asthmatic seizure. The black shadow on the ceiling which is next to the ventilation opening, is just an another evidence of the lack of proper cleaning. Breakfast and dinner buffets were quite nice, however the organization could be better. To illustrate - the guy before me in a queue just stuck his dirty hand in the pile of cheese and touched half of all the pieces of cheese there before picking up one piece and sticking it directly in his mouth. Noone of the restaurant staff seemed to care about the hygiene. The only "entertainment" in the evenings during the Christmas time was the performances of the "Dynamic Duo" band. I have never ever in my life seen more static musicians. Bored us to death. But as I said - if you are a retired Russian or German citizen, this is probably sufficient for you to open your wallet and leave here horrific amounts of money. To everyone else, I would suggest carefully judging your decision to come here, is it even necessary? There are certainly other = better, options.

The hotel itself need some renovations. TV are abt 15-20 years old. Location is good and abt 5 minutes from the lake. At lake complex the temperature inside the building was very cold /abt 20-22 degrees/and after swimming it was necessary to put on warm clothes and to drink warm tea. All discussions with administaration /information desk, administrator, manager/did not change situation even to do something with windows through which the cold air came inside and they had big holes which were possible to close if the temperature could not be increased by heating the building. All previous years at the same period the temperature inside was abt 27 degrees which was comfortable to feel yourself after swimming. This year we were forsed to go away after swimming in order not to catch the flew and at the end loose hours for visits which were prepaid at the beginning. Therefore if you are not interested to relax at cold building it is better not to buy 20 hours visit but to pay only for 10 hours and than to have a decision as what to do

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to relax in the sun following a 3 night stay in Budapest. We spent a lot of time looking online for a modern hotel with an outdoor pool and decided to book the Europa Fit. We are pleased we did - the hotel staff are polite and very hardworking. It is an exceptionally clean hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. We don’t have children, but nevertheless would recommend the hotel to families since there are activities planned each day and lots of children having the best time! Food is traditional, tasty and plentiful. The hotel is popular with Russians, Germans and Hungarians and, therefore, menu choices are similarly targeted towards these nationalities. Google Translate is a must! The 2 for 1 cocktails between 15:00 and 17:00 are good value but it’s a shame they need to be 2 of the same type. Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you to all of the staff. ☺️

We arrived after a 24 hour traveling day and was treated with a glass of champagne! Great start! Such an easy drive to Hévíz in the transfer taxi but for a two hour trip worth it. Probably would hire a car if we came back to go to surrounding districts. Happy to walk everywhere this time in the warm sun. We came across a market day on Thursday and the local shops and swim at the Lake were enough to keep us busy for a week. The apartment was clean and a good size, being quiet and peaceful at night. It has a warm spa pool in the complex and we booked an hour long massage each which was superb. Everything seemed to be on hand and walking distance to town. Great holiday place! Go to the ABC market up the hill for fresh chicken meat or mince otherwise you’ll be stuck buying salami type goods down the hill at the co-op (only go for a look); it has a mini mall attached. Not great English spoken in town but enough to get us food and shop. We did sit waiting for service at a large ‘pub’ and felt ignored but a local gave the waiter a nod about us sitting there and finally attended us. Good meals eating out. Would visit again.

My friend and I have booked a room at Palace Hotel with the formula of a private apartment within the hotel but a free access to hotel thermal services (Pools and Saunas), as well as a discount coupon for Héviz's Thermal Lake. The owner of the apartment, after we checked in, collected our payment and came as we checked out on the last day, even though communications were not easy as she spoke only in Hungarian. Even though we've had to arrange for our own meals, it was a positive stay, the room was well equipped and maintained, the pools and saunas were amazing, and really relieved us from all the stress of our normal life. Great stay for great value. We'll definitely return.

Unfortunately for this hotel, I had the opportunity of visiting it just after staying in a 3 star family hotel in Austria. Since this Danubius hotel (after a 25% discount) was 30% more expensive than the one in Austria, I was arriving with high expectations. First the good things: Hotel personnel is very attentive, helpful, and very kind (all of them, whatever their role: maids, receptionists, waiters, everybody) The hotel does have three nice pools, one of them with thermal water coming from the nearby thermal lake. So everybody can find the one that he likes the most. The hotel has quite a variety of health services (massage, rheumatism cures, etc), which apparently is quite appreciated by the older generation (quite a lot of Russian pensioner guests). Food is OK (not exquisite, just OK), with great variety both breakfast and dinner (lunch never tried, too expensive for my "two-penny" pocket) And now the bad part (coming from a more expensive country): - hotel looks from outside like an old flat from the communist era (this was ok 40 years ago in Hungary, but not today for a 4 star expensive hotel) - room nicely designed and decorated, but don't pay for the superior. It is just at higher floor, and with different carpet and curtain, than the non-superior (my friends stayed at standard room, so I could check both). No other extra service with the superior room - dinner: only one drink included. If you would like a second drink, you have to pay, and quite expensive: a 250ml coke is 2.5 EUR. Sorry, but its too much for me when in Austria at a tourist restaurant at 2500m high in the mountains is cheaper. - parking: 3 EUR per night. Not much, but again: it doesn't fit in your room price? - safe in the room: there is one, but very small, you can't fit in a laptop or tablet (again: in Austria a small family hotel could provide better) All-in-all: it is priced as any West-European hotel, but the overall quality is not there. At this level (4 stars): - the food needs to be better - how you serve the food should be more original (ex: have an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant in the morning and one of the cooks should prepare some of the food there fresh, on request, for ex the eggs) - rooms should be bigger and more spacious - room's interior design should be more modern - elevators: should be more of them, since some people cannot use them, thus in "rush-hour" often all three of them are busy - elevators: should be bigger, seriously

From the moment I walked in the smell of deep fried food hit me. The receptionist at check in (younger lady) was fine, but the older staff the day after were just plain rude.I have read in forums that Hungarians are not naturally 'friendly' and I am OK with that if you are just approaching them on the street etc, but if you work in the service industry part of your job is to be civil at the very least. The food here is amongst the worst I have ever eaten in a hotel. We were half board because there wasn't a BB option but really, after the first evening we had had enough, and only ate there the second evening as there aren't really that many options in Heviz, but we left most of it. There are two soups, you choose your main (one of 3) the day before-so the first evening you have no choice-and there is no choice of dessert. For breakfast there is instant coffee in an urn, bread (but no croissant and no toaster), porridge (safest option), scrambled egg, 'hot-dog' sausage and a selection of cold meats and cheeses. I am usually happy with a continental style breakfast like this but the meat and cheese were not good quality. We had porridge, boiled eggs and bread and butter. We have paid 45/50 euro BB in Hungary and had a much better quality of food-this was 80 including the evening meal, I wouldn't say it was good value. The room was OK, broken bulbs in the bathroom, ripped bathrobes, but the bed was fine. Heviz itself is a bit of a ghost town in September-an older clientele for sure. The lake was worth a trip-but maybe a day trip-or one night at the most-and not this hotel!
