|2.51km from city centerThere are 5 rooms. We'd originally booked the largest, but found it was right next to the pool and all guests had to walk past the only window. The other rooms (as far as I could tell) are all the same layout with a bed hard up against one wall. For an older couple it makes getting up in the night awkward. The bed is very hard. There is a kettle and fridge but no cups or Tea/Coffee/Water. These are relatively trivial and could be easily remedied. On the positive side, the brother and sister who run it are lovely people and couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast is great and the on-site restaurant good. The pool is fantastic and spotlessly clean. They have free bikes for use and very cheap scooter hire. The location is excellent and near other places to eat. 10 minute cycle to Trang An boats and Mua cave Lookout.

The bungalows are clean and comfortable, right next to a karst mountain with a massive cave that goes under it. You can ask them to take you on a boat ride through to the other side, where a village lady took us through a cave system. 200,000 baht for two, the villager asked for a tip of 50,000baht, for the three of us, which is uncomfortable, but I paid as for me it was worth it. Just hate the tipping culture would rather know a price upfront. But that was not the bungalows fault. Enjoyed the food, and the family, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. And they understood our English.

|2.24km from city centerWe stayed in this homestay for 3 nights in January. Upon arrival the hosts were welcoming and helpful and allowed us to check in early. The room was well sized with good ammenities. However, the room got quite cold during the night and the AC does not have a heat setting. They supply you with a small heater but this was not really enough. Suggest including some warmer blankets during winter. We also found the hot water does not last very long so it’s very hard to warm up after a day of scootering in the cold wind. There were also some animals living in our wall so was hard to sleep. The food was good and the ammenities of the place were good too - free bikes and scooters are cheap. They offer laundry and bus booking services too. There are cute kittens that hang around and the general area is nice. The homestay is well located close to Mua Cave and a scooter ride from everything else. Be aware it is very rural and you may see some shocking things around the area that are unrelated to this accomodation (think family violence, dead animals, etc). Overall, good budget accomodation but wouldn’t suggest staying in winter.

|4.67km from city centerI have been travelling for around 6 weeks now and this is by far the best homestay that I’ve stayed in whilst being here. The rooms are extremely spacious with A/C, the pool was lovely and the location is superb. The ladies that runs this homestay needs her own paragraph because she is phenomenal, whether it’s recommending places to go or helping with any day to day issues you may have she is always on hand to help. Our bus out of Ninh Binh was a late one but she let us keep the room all day free of charge because of how hot it was. Not only this, when we left she provided us with water and snacks to take with us. She is an absolute credit to the homestay and I cannot praise this absolute gem of a place to stay enough.

Lovely room with bed, table, chairs, kettle, cups (no tea bags...), fridge, shower etc and a little outside undercover seating area. All enclosed in a courtyard that's full of trees, flowers and other plants. Very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was nice, banana pancakes were good, but would perhaps have done with a little more cooking. The family who run the homestay were amazing, so helpful and kind. We arrived at 4am (8 hours before check in!) And they were happy to have us check in early for only 100,000 dong or 150,000 dong with breakfast. So grateful for this!! We hired a moped from the family (a well used moped but it did the trick!) And they had bicycles available too. Location-wise it's off of the main strips but no more than a 5 to 10 minute walk from the restaurants and pubs and the lake. We didnt visit Tam Coc lake but went to Trang An which was muuuuch nicer and you don't get scammed! Overall couldnt recommended this place enough.

It is probably equivalent to a three star hotel in the US. the room I stayed in is nice but probably can use a little maintenance. The AC is not cold. It acts more like a fan. The water pressure in the shower comes and goes. Their breakfast offers beef and chicken Pho, bread, chow mein, sweet potatoes, fruits, etc. For vegans, it’s really lacking. You can pretty much have only corn, sweet potato, fruits and toast. But the front desk staffs (especially Mr. Lieu) really look after you. They proactively help you with your luggage, your transportation needs, and the recommendations on places and things to do. They are sincere helpfulness really make up for the shortcomings. For vegan travelers, there is a pretty good vegan restaurant on the main road after you walk out of the alley where the hotel is located. Ngon Vegan is located about 50 feet away after you exit the alley and turn right.

The biggest highlight of the hotel is the large swimming pool, suitable for family travel. The disadvantage is that the environment is cleaned and hygienic. It may be improved. It may be understaffed and there is no extra manpower to organize. It is a pity. The hotel can take a set itinerary. We chartered a car to the Songya Bird Ecological Tourism Area on the first day, 400,000 VND (about 7 kilometers from the hotel). It is recommended to rent a locomotive to go to the more cost-effective. The next day, chartered a car to Trang an Chang'an Scenic Area (Lulong Bay) ➝ Hoa lu Huaxu Ancient City ➝ Lunch ➝ Baiding Temple Cha Bái ính- Ninh Bnh Tour, 1 million VND. On the third day, go to Mua Caves ( Hang Mua) (4.7 kilometers) and rent a bicycle to go. Back to Hanoi to book a car to the hotel, 200,000 VND/person, the ticket is cheap, the disadvantage is that it is necessary to connect multiple times, the advantage is that there is no rest in the middle, the time spent is the same as sitting limosion

It’s a beautiful facility. Extremely zen, quiet, and peaceful. Room were antique but new, clean, and well-decorated. View from my balcony to rice field and mountain were spectacular. Service weee impeccable. They recommend all the great tour. Close to Bird Garden which worth drop by if you have time after visit Trang An and Mung Ha Mountain (must do). Restaurant delivered high end class food that is not pricey. Massage (I got one from every hotel same or higher class in 2 weeks at Vietnam). Price is half ($30 US versus other places $80-100) for 90 min and same or better quality. Hien is an amazing massage therapist, one of best I have had. Receptionist Wjen. Tu, and Dinh were attentive and superb. Would definitely come back again

The pictures of the home stay on the internet do not do this place justice. Dzung has made every effort to make his guests feel at home. We each had bicycles that we could use free of charge. The breakfasts that his wife made were delicious, best pancakes! We had our own bathrooms and the rooms and facilities were absolutely pristine. Trip.com indicated that this home stay had shared washrooms but this isn’t always the case, we had our own private bathrooms. We also couldn’t get enough of the rooftop pool! Dzung was so helpful showing us where to go and what to do. The home stay is so conveniently located, away from the hustle and bustle. So tranquil and peaceful. We will mostly definitely be returning. This was truly a special experience that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Dzung and your family for being the most gracious hosts. We felt as though we were a part of your family. We will see you all soon!

|3.39km from city centerStayed in the bungalow for 2 nights. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not great. I could smell the toilet as soon as we were shown our bungalow for our stay which was not impressive, so we had to close the door every time. The bathroom looked half done. There was no shower, just a bathtub with a shower head that sat waist high, which meant it was very awkward for those that don’t want to use the bath. The mirror was too large at the sink that the corner was over part of the nailed shut window. The bungalow we stayed at was near the massage and spa place along with pool tables next to it. This was noisy in the mornings. The only saving grace was the view outside the bungalow, and being able to enjoy the mountain at sunrise before visitors arrive during the day. They had a restaurant located on site which closes around 9.30pm. The food was standard and nothing special, and the first morning they didn’t have a breakfast buffet. Instead they had a given us a menu which was hand written, and told to pick what we wanted to order for breakfast. The options were very limited and my noodles were very oily. I would save my money and stay elsewhere, or just take the day trip from Hanoi. It may have been worthwhile if we chose a different lodging option but I definitely would not be running back to stay. The staff were nice and booked us taxis into town as there was not much nearby to eat something decent. I left feeling extremely disappointed, and initially when we booked the room the photos seemed to show a different story. I wish I took photos to show the disappointment, but it was the last thing on our mind.

|1.87km from city centerIt’s located in a quiet valley smack in the middle of Ninh Binh. The pool could be a little clearer but it’s ok to swim. Staff was very helpful and attentive the room is functional but hey you are there to explore the beautiful scenery and not the room. For 2-3 day trip it’s a great homebase with stunning view.

|3.92km from city centerWe stayed 5 nights in Tam Coc valley bungalow and couldn’t have hope for a better place. It is calm, outside of the city, just a 5 min bike ride to the center. The staff is very nice and welcoming, always willing to help. Here you can borrow a bike or scooter for free. Some delicious breakfast and fresh beers are available too. The pool is great too! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice and clean place to relax after a day of visiting the region.

|4.56km from city centerGood Hotel besides the canal! Room: The room was huge enough to accommodate three of us adults.( there were 2 queen size beds and 2 single beds) But the location of the room was in another wing which was a bit far from the reception area.There was no intercom facility to contact the reception/housekeeping and we had to go all the way to the reception to ask for anything.We felt there was some renovation work going on as in the bathroom there was an outlet but bathtub wasn't installed yet.Bathroom was also huge in size.Swimming pool was nice but we couldn't use it due to rains and cold weather.The hotel is big enough but kind of confusing walking inside the buildings through different wings. Service: The staff was courteous and helping but again as there was no intercom we had to go all the way to the reception and call them. Food: The buffet breakfast was good in terms of quality and variety.The spread was also nice. Location: We stayed in this hotel for just 1 night so we couldn't explore nearby areas but we found a small stream/canal with village houses (traditional) behind the hotel compound near swimming pool area and few mountains in the vicinity.Also while leaving the hotel in our tour van we saw cafes and restaurants on the same street as our hotel.

Our family are used to budget and mid-range hotels, and lots of camping on east coast Australia, so this really was luxury! Artists and aesthetes will appreciate the styling and special touches. Pool and tropical landscaping is heavenly. Everything smells so good! Note that the photos on site are a few years old and garden is now very established. Hotel is tucked down a sweet side street with a delightful garden cafe next door. Thank you to Le Clos du Fil staff for a wonderful stay. I wish I’d booked a week here. 😊

|4.35km from city centerThe room (premium deluxe) was absolutely stunning, with a very beautiful scenic view, a very comfortable matress and very clean also. The location is also very good, its convenient to walk and see tam coc and also for the boat trips. The breakfast was good and there is a nice pool to swim. That said, We had a big problem of noise : a new bar opened next door and the noise was umbelievably loud, the staff could’nt tell us what was the closing hour of the bar and wasn’t capable of going and pick the information when we asked several time. They did a discount on the room because we could’nt sleep at all (it was like we were in the bar) so I thank them for that because they tried their best to help us, but in the future I hope that they can make an arrangment on the level of noise with the new bar, otherwhise, clients will not be respected for what they pay…

From before we arrived the receptionist was messaging asking for our time of arrival what our plans are and suggesting things to do! ☺️ Our washing was done so fast and they also organised a bike for us. Breakfast was lovely and while we were waiting for our bus when we were leaving we were given free refreshments and then a lift into town from the lady for free which she didn’t need to do! Thank you for looking after us so well.

|1.43km from city centerWe absolutely loved our time at Green Mountain Homestay! The space is beautiful and relaxing and our room was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. Outside, there are a ton of chairs, hammocks, and loungers to relax on while looking at the gorgeous scenery along with a nice pool to dip in. We enjoyed the restaurant and had many meals there. They were all quite good with super fair prices. Breakfast is included along with bikes to take around the neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly and the dogs are super sweet around the property. We can't rave about this homestay enough and are so glad we chose to stay here!!

|2.16km from city centerThis place was so special - the view is breathtaking, you can swim in the water, you can use the neighboring hostel’s pool, and the family who runs it is unbelievably helpful. The beds were SO comfortable and they always came in to clean up while you were out during the day so it was refreshing to come home to a clean room. They do laundry, they rent out bicycles and motorbikes, they book travel to your next destinations, they make great food...there’s nothing they don’t do well it seemed like! They put everything on one tab too so it made it easy to just pay all the expenses all at once before I left. The only thing was that it could get a little noisy at night with neighboring hostels playing music or early in the morning with motorbikes passing by on the road - but that just might have been because my room was closest to the street. The music would die down by 11 and there were still plenty of times where all I could hear were the birds’ calls echoing through the mountains. So peaceful! I’m so grateful I found this place!

|4.39km from city centerLys Homestay is an absolute gem. This is the second time we have stayed there and our second visit was every bit as wonderful as our first. It is run by a lovely family who do everything they can to make you feel at home. The rooms are immaculate and the location perfect. It is close to what would be considered the heart of the town but on a quiet street far enough away from the lake front square that you avoid the noise of the honking traffic. On our last visit the weather was chilly but our AC converted to a heater so we were toasty warm. The breakfast was comparable to all our Vietnamese breakfasts; coffee, tea, juices, eggs, pancakes, fruit etc. If motor bikes and bicycles are your preferred mode of transportation they have plenty of both and just received a batch of brand new bicycles the day before we left. |2.23km from city centerThis is the best hostel so far on my trip. The setting is outstanding the owners and staff are so friendly I actually would stay longer!!! We have been treated so well from the second we arrived. We used bikes while here it’s easy to get around. Bikes are well maintained and good enough for getting to all the local places to see. I imagine like me most people get a good if not excellent sleep here it is so quiet we came down from Hanoi and the contrast is unreal!! Everyday we are given fresh drinking water which is a nice touch. The dorms are great very comfortable Pool looked lovely it was chilly so I didn’t venture in! Other guests partying did not effect my rest at all as it’s set up allows those who want to sleep to do so away from noise. Food is better than anything I have had so far on this trip. Hot chocolate was delicious at night it’s been a bit chilly the last few days! Highly recommend Thank you guys I will be back xxx
