This review mainly goes out to Dikeledi Boakilwe the front desk manager (her nickname is "Queen") For New Years Eve she threw a big event for all guests. Suddenly we got an alert that our flight would be delayed and we would miss our connecting flight back to cape town the next day. When we tried calling, everything was already closed. Queen took it on herself to call her friends at the airline and told us to enjoy dinner and have a fun night. Then in the morning she came with us to the airport to talk to the airport staff and helped us sort everything. She is so kind and funny as well. Thank you Dikeledi!!!!

My brother and I spent 4 days a the Old House with Rams as our guide and he was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgable with fantastic spotting skills we did the boat cruise and several drives with him and saw a ton! Even in the beginning of the rainy season in December we saw wild dogs, elephant, lots of lion, and some really stand-out encounters with hippos the other herbivores. As a guide Rams is easily up there with some of the best guides at high end camps in the Delta and other parts of southern Africa, and would highly recommend trying to get him if you can upon a visit. Very personable, friendly, and makes a huge effort to give his guests a genuinely special experience. Lodging and the food here is solid, and perfect for the price. As a homebase to visit Chobe (easily 15 min away) could not recommend more.

What a wonderful positiion on the bank of the Chobe river, and we had very good meals (evening and breakfast) laid on with plenty of choice. The river-based safari was memorable for the sheer quantity of wildlife we saw and also for the food served. By contrast, the land-based safari was not so successful in terms of what we encountered. The hotel facilities, including swimming pool and massage were perfectly adequate, though not luxurious, and the room provided had been recently refurbished, had a great view, and had all we requiredneeds. Staff were always courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and competent.

Chiloto Guest House was our last accomodation on our Botswana-Trip. The guest house is in the centre of the village, surrounded by locals, which might not be pleasant for everyone. We did like this! Of course you have to expect that it's gonna be very loud on Saturday evenings, but hey, This is Africa. However, certain things have caused us to evaluate this stay negatively. First of all, they only had a booking for one night instead of two. We booked a night on Thursday and one on Saturday (Luckily, I had printed out the confirmations), but they obviously mixed something up and then claimed that they never received the booking from the internet platform I had booked with. Very unlikely! So, they could not offer us a room for our second night. Long story short: At the end we received a room, which was more like a broom closet. It was so small they couldn't even fit in a normal bed, but instead there was a bunk bed in the room. We had to accept it, because it was impossible to get another room on this short notice. The problem with this room also was that the doorbell from the main door was linked to this room (no clue why) and everytime someone was ringing the bell (even in the middle of the night), we woke up. This was kind of annoying. Unfortunately, no one was there when we checked out, so we couldn't give them our feedback. At check-out, there was only one rather unfriendly woman, who told us that we have to pay a parking fee, because our car was there for 3 days and we had only booked 2 nights (we spent one night in the Chobe National Park). What she didn't know was, that we already paid that parking fee, because someone was knocking to our door late in the evening the night before to collect it. Eventually, she believed us and we could leave. However, this is some other negative point. They don't have a room for us, they put us in a "room", but then this (very small) parking fee is all they care about. They do not care that we paid way too much for a room they didn't give us. All in all, the normal rooms are not bad. Just the staff and these situations didn't make the stay a positive one.

Liya was recommended to me by a cabbie so i was a bit skeptical. All that qent when I met the owner and the staff. Very nice charming guest house. The owner helped me a lot, especially with using his card to pay for my flight ticket (I only had cash). If you want an affordable clean secure room, this is the place. Regards
