Friends also think so, and it is cheap!

Always asking how you are, and wishing you a good day on your way in and out, and if you need anything, to feel free to ask. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a family run store, so you kind of walk through it or go through the back street to access the stairs right away. It's an unusual set up at first, but you get used to it. The rooms are not fancy, but we just wanted quick access to the beach, so it was perfect. Everyone is very helpful, and help you slow down and enjoy your time. I tried to be respectful of the common spaces as much as possible, especially during prayer times. At night, the doors are locked so you have to use the back entrance, which is ok, just leave your shoes on that side :) The view of the sunset from the balcony is really nice. My first time, but I really enjoyed it.

The hotel has a car to send to all parts of the island, and each place has a price list. We chartered a car for half a day and four hours, 2,500 baht. Go to the beach 10 kilometers away, 400 baht one way, I think the price is also very good. You can call the hotel to pick it up at Saladan Pier. This is free, but it seems that it is not delivered.
Horse * chicken needs to be reserved, very cheap, Thai massage technique is very good, only 600 baht per person for 50 minutes. And it feels very good to face the sea. The facilities are a little bit old, but they have everything they should. The rooms are large and the balcony with sea view is very awkward. There are not many varieties of breakfast, but it is completely delicious. The semi-open restaurant and garden perfectly blend with the sea view, bringing a good dining mood, which is enough to offset the shortcomings of fewer varieties. The flame dance at the bar on the side is also a highlight, making the night more exciting.
The only thing that is not tolerable is the problem of bath water. The water flow is often very small. When I came back from the beach and stood under the shower head. When the dripping water could not clean the sand on my body, my heart collapsed. I stood and waited for a few minutes. It took ten minutes for the water flow to return to normal levels to finish the bath.
The sea and beaches of Kantian Bay are not as good as expected. I think the comments in the comments are a bit too much. After all, Thailand has many more beautiful beaches than here.
In general, it is a wonderful experience for people like me who love to lie on the balcony or garden and enjoy leisure time.

Everything about this place is as it should be - friendly and professional service, decent rooms with comfortable beds and the location is just perfect - a minute walk from beautiful, family friendly beach, numerous restaurants, great coffee shops, bars etc. Very convenient for exploring the island but also quiet and peaceful at the same time. Nam, who owns the hotel, runs it very well and is available at reception most of the time. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she helped us organise local trips, car rental and airport transfer (including a car child seat for our 3yo daughter which we didn’t even have to ask for). Breakfast offering is simple but tasty. All in all, Lanta Ray Bay is great value for money and we will be definitely staying there again when we visit Ko Lanta in the future. Thank you Nam and the team - you made our holiday :-)

Huge rooms , cozy linens , partially out door bathrooms were unique and plenty of space for hanging clothes etc There are approximately 13 villas spaced nicely in lush tropical gardens . There’s a good sized pool and restaurant area. At 1200 bht a night we consider this the best value in the area. The two guys on reception were super helpful, organised a snorkelling tour, rented us a scooter and had our laundry back within hours . Guests should welcome a harder mattress , mosque prayers at 5am and you’re not directly on the beach ( but the price tells you that ) Definitely will return here 🙏

We were lucky enough to spend 15 days at the resort this time, and it just seems to get better and better. Its hard to put your finger in what makes The Pimalai so unique. It has a genuine rustic Thai charm, combined with the efficiency of a well run Western hotel. The balance is perfect and never disappoints. It could be the stunning beach, the tranquil setting, the crystal clear waters, the fantastic food or the delicious cocktails at happy hour that make it so amazing, but I think it’s actually the incredible staff that really make you feel like you are one of the family, that really sets this place apart. The staff can not do enough for you. Even the gardeners (who work tirelessly to keep the grounds looking beautiful) stop to say hello when you walk past. There has been a change of guard since last year. The lovely French Manager Franck has handed over to the equally charming new French manager Brice. The transition has been seamless and the hotel is in safe hands. We managed to do a few things this time that we’ve never done before. I did a wonderful Thai cooking class with the head chef. What an experience. One I’d recommend to anyone. We also did a sunset snorkelling trip to Koh Ha. This was spectacular. The fish we saw were incredible, an the guys on the boat were so helpful. Then followed by a sunset cruise back to the hotel. Just WOW!! As always the food in the restaurants was delicious. I get the feeling that it’s only going to get better with the new food and beverage manager putting his mark on the menus. As always, we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to get back.

The bungalow itself offers enough space and is stylishly furnished. The resort is built in beautiful Thai style (with all the wooden handcraft and a beautiful garden) and a perfect feng sui, but with all the luxe you can think of. Even much better than the pictures. The Swiss owners who manage the resort are making you feel welcome, I loved that professional, but personal touch in everything. Every morning we had breakfast at the tables on the beach. The best place, but also the best breakfasts I’ve had in Thailand. They serve fresh fruitshakes and perfect cappuccino’s and I loved the homemade overnight oats, as well as the homemade bananabread. When you are there, you really should take a Thai massage. The best I got and the massage area at the beachfront is perfect because you hear the waves and feel the wind. I juist want to go back here.

There is no extra bed. If you need it, a small sofa in the room can let the service staff add a quilt. Service: The hotel can arrange vehicles to go to the following restaurant and 711 every day. The hotel has no food and can be delivered to the room if needed. Hotel staff can recommend snorkeling and car rental, and if you feel the price is right, you can order it. The only fly in the ointment is the path from the main road to the hotel. It is a bit steep and a bit broken. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach. The hotel's cat is so cute, every day, I want to enter the house at the door of the villa, and all kinds of trails hahaha, but we are not able to stand the enthusiasm of human beings. They organized on a heart beat our taxi pick-ups, snorkling day trips and even an ambulance pick-up when my girlfriend needed to go to the hospital. Plus, always at a very competitive price! We had booked a triple room with a kitchen at the Lanta Maikeaw and on arrival we were given a much smaller, dirty bungalow with cracks where all sorts of bugs could get in. The owner had a booking message with confirmation of the most basic bungalow. We had a confirmation from Agoda with the upper bungalow. But what was really disappointing was the owner's attitude. She completely ignored the problem, as the triple room was occupied by another family. We proposed her to change the second night to a superior room and also compensate for the night we would spend in the more basic bungalow. She replied that she was sleeping and that we could but pay much more. Pitiful. Right in front of us and on the same road there are new, air-conditioned, clean bungalows for the same price or a little more. Obviously we didn't spend the second night there. We'd rather lose the money.

We found it a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was good, scooter you can rent at the reception, small shopping at walking distance. It's just not for people who are not good to be. Many stairs, but we didn't care. You get a great view for it back.
Tip: rent a scooter. Go to discover the island and find the beaches and the nice bars on the road with views of the beach,. Overall you find monkeys, super clear water and a beautiful sandy beach. S Nights good dinner at the beach tents!

Expensive rooms (for the 3 weeks traveling it was the most expensive hotel for me) but I was expected that it would be great final of my trip and in general hotel was good, but... Room B06 (triple with one door to the beach and one to the swimming pool) the door to pool you can lock outside (no key at all) only from the room. The safe box is locked and doesn’t work. I didn’t concentrate on that in the begging of my trip but in the end I would propose help with that fact my cash was partially!!!! stolen. I had keep some euro and usd in my room, and I knew exactly how much because on the second day check everything before go to exchange point. At the check out day (5 th day) I pack everything and again check money in the pocket and identity that partially they was stolen! Not all amount so if you just have a quick look : the money on the place BUT if you calculate... so it was 120 usd (by 50 and 20 banknote and 50 euro) stolen. 8-00 in the morning and I have taxi to the airport at 11 :( I run to the reception and asked about contact to police and explain everything. Then during 1,5 hours I regularly asked about status and got answers: I contacted to my manager, he will check cameras first and contact to police then, please wait... etc ... till 9-30. At the end I too tired to wait and asked to contact manager, from whom I got info that police are not allowed to cone and the only one way to go to local police office! 9-30 already! 1,5 hour before my trip to airport. They didn’t tell me about that at 8 when I had 3 hours before flight! I found police tell by myself and contact Tourists police. They arrived in 10 minutes thanks them and yes they are not allowed to accept my case on place and I didn’t have time to go to the office unfortunately but they came! Same time staff told me that the would not came! Please be careful, if you have cash always check amounts, is safe box broken please do not keep anything in the room! I really disappointed in the staff actions and that’s strange that not all money was stolen, only partially... like someone hoped that I would not recognize that....

This place has stolen our hearts, lovely apartment rooms, all with pool with.
This is a family run home hotel and they’re the friendless, most sweetest people we’ve ever met. We extended our original 3 night stay, another 3 nights purely because of them.
Everywhere in Koh Lanta you really need a mo-ped to get about but it’s literally one straight road from top to bottom of the island, so I can’t fault the location when there’s a gym / Muay Thai gym 1 minute away, beach & 7-Eleven plus many restaurants within 10 minutes on feet.
10/10 stay, I couldn’t recommend enough.
