We have just arrived back home from a wonderful 2 week stay at the blue diamond. It was our first time staying on this part of the island and we were not disappointed! We arrived as a large group and were immediately made to feel welcome. The rooms are basic but have everything you need especially the air con that was a god send on a few of the days, fridge/freezer, hair dryer, small kitchenette and shower room. Rooms cleaned every day except Sunday’s our towels were changed every other day the place is spotless and the maid works extremely hard! The pool area is lovely and well kept the beds and umbrellas are plenty, and the pool it’s self is beautiful after 2pm the water is like a nice warm bath! Some days we had the pool to our selves even though the apartments were fully booked which was fantastic considering the kids are on the summer holidays! my daughter absolutely loved the pool and I am surprised she hasn’t grown gills and webbed feet as she was in the water permanently. Demitri is a perfect host, so warm and welcoming he makes beautiful food and is always smiling! Then out of nowhere he pops up with a gallon of raki and a shot glass! Wow that stuff is like swallowing fire but so funny watching everyone else’s faces as he goes around the pool and no body gets away with not having any :-) “just one more” is my favourite catchphrase!! We have had the most relaxing wonderful holiday and we’re really sad to come home, however it did seem to start getting busier the last couple of days. I would recommend any of the restaurants as you come out of the blue diamond and turn right, not had a bad meal in any! Our favourites were the village and the panorama. Stamatis is lovely for snacks and a quiet drink overlooking the sea and if you buy a drink there you can use there sun beds and parasols on the beach for free, they have live music some nights we didn’t go to any of them but heard they were very good. There is not much by turning left out of the blue diamond and certainly DO NOT go to napoleons restaurant if you could call it that! Worst meal and terrible service and absolutely Minging!

We stayed in September 2019 for two weeks, a bit risky to guarantee sun... but it was great .... about 25 degrees! We opted for a swim up apmt , which was great and so relaxing. We had apmt 105, so got the sun the the first part of the day. Others have sun in the afternoon....or none at all if you are at the end.... We found all of the staff really helpful and friendly and really couldn’t fault them..... a real credit to the hotel! The manager who based himself by the reception desk was really friendly and always asking if everything was ok ( sorry we didn’t pick up his name). Our apartment was great and really spacious. Our fridge was stocked up daily with water , soft drinks and beer as needed. Towels were also replaced, but not daily. Food - we couldn’t fault the food, the buffet was great , plenty of choice and good quality tasty food. There were some bits that weren’t to our taste but we never went hungry. We tried the on site Greek restaurant, so thought this would be nice...........Oh dear, such a disappointment, the food in our buffet was so mush better than this. The only good thing about the restaurant was the view at sunset. We didn’t try the other buffets in other hotel areas as we were really happy with ours. Entertainment- not on every night , but when it was on, it was enough. The couple singing and playing keyboards were good. Issues- as it was hot , and limited shade offered, we had to ask for an umbrella for the patio, which given the star rating and price...would have been nice if it was already there. If you wanted to make use of the bar during the day, you had to walk out the front door of the apmt to the pool bar...... not sure if this could be done, but if would be nice if there was a pathway between the swim up pools to get the the bar instead. Would have been nice to have other options in the fridge eg wine. Couldn’t get the tv to work with English channels..... if we wanted it , but it certainly didn’t ruin the holiday. Overall though, a really great holiday, we will definitely go back.
