My wife and I stayed at this hotel last Saturday. Check-in was different, as it was done by intercom, so we never actually saw a member of staff during our stay! However, the system worked, we got our key, and found our room ok. We booked an executive room, and was certainly quirky, and we almost felt as though we had walked into a room from Morocco with the various types of decor. We were ok with this, but I don’t think it would suit everybody. My only issue with the decor was with the bathroom door which was noisy to open and somewhat see through- not great when you are sat on the loo! The bed was comfortable, the hotel nicely located just outside the town centre, and for a Saturday night, the cost was reasonable value. I only had a couple of negative points - we couldn’t get a signal on the TV, and the water was very slow to drain away from the shower, nearly resulting in the bathroom being flooded. However, these were minor points, and I would certainly use this hotel again.

I came with family for a quick bite at lunchtime on a Saturday. Arriving early at about 12.30pm, to the nearly empty restuarant, we asked for a table for 2. Hearing that we hadn't booked the 'manager'? consulted his computer at length and told us he had a table for 2 but we'd have to be out within 90 minutes. As we were only having a quick lunch, said that would be fine. We were seated at a small table opposite the entrance to the lavatories. As I sat down I noticed both water glasses were dirty and the tabletop sticky. I didn't say anything, as we just wanted to eat and be on our way. A charming waitress took our order for a vegan sweet potatoe dish, a hamburger and 2 beers. After 30 minutes as no food had appeared I enquired after it. It won't be long we were told. Just as well we had a 90 minute slot. My hamburger, when it came, was dry and over cooked, the chips underdone and the side dish of Brocolli bland. The vegan meal apparently was much better and looked tasty. With 2 1/2 pints of beer,no starter or desert, the bill came to neigh on £60 with service. By now the place was full and people waiting to be seated. We made it out with 20 minutes to spare. The staff were all dressed like students, very casual,jeans,t- shirts etc.but polite and friendly. I have lived in the area for over 70 years and seen many changes to the Fox , I don't know who now manages it but I was disappointed with my food and thought the meal overpriced. A shame, such a great location.

I have been in this hotel a few times and I noticed that almost of the staff is changed which now is definitely better. I have been impressed of a couple of guys on reception that they checked in me on Saturday , really pretty and polite guys, I can’t remember them names but I’m sure that she and he are both Italian, great impact from the desk!!! Rest of the team also was fantastic, from house keeping up to the restaurant team!

Recommended! Near the famous Wimbledon tennis court, surrounded by the famous big house mansion area, the hotel is in a large park, very quiet, old and heavy furniture, push the window to see the park's large lawn and walk, walk the dog Locals of dogs, small bars and small restaurants in the downstairs lobby are also very British, and you can recommend them to the local style hotel. The disadvantage is that it is a bit far from the city center, and the traffic time is about 40 minutes of traffic time.

In ordinary circumstances, I would recommend the Rose and Crown in Wimbledon without hesitation. It’s a pleasant pub offering good quality accommodation. We stayed for two nights in October 2020, and found our room to be stylish and spacious. It was also very quiet, considering its pub location. The pub’s food is also good; the breakfast we had the one day we were in time for it was excellent. There was just one problem: the day after checking out of the Rose and Crown, my wife and I both noticed numerous itchy red bumps emerging on our arms and hands, feet and ankles, and – most disturbingly – our necks and faces. More continued appearing in the next few days. A quick Internet image search showed perfect matches for bedbug bites, right down to the classic ‘groups of three’ pattern. My wife and I traced back our potential exposures to see where we might have been bitten. We had stayed at another B&B immediately prior to the Rose and Crown for seven nights with absolutely no sign of trouble. We had been using our rental car for three straight weeks without incident. We had not been outdoors without long trousers and long sleeves throughout our time in the UK. It seemed extremely unlikely that we had been bitten anywhere other than the Rose and Crown. We contacted the Rose and Crown, and described our experience, with accompanying photos. To their credit, the management immediately replied and said they would quarantine our room and investigate it for possible infestation, and would update us. A week or so later, after hearing nothing more, we wrote back to Rose and Crown to see what they’d found. They then informed us they’d had an exterminator in, and that no evidence of infestation had been found. This is a very nice option for accommodation in Wimbledon, but I don’t think we’ll be back.

The hotel is located in the suburbs, 1.3 miles from the modern subway station, 7 yuan for the non-blocking university, and 8.5 yuan for a small traffic jam. The British guy at the front desk is very good at serving, whispering and whispering, and it is necessary to match the action, which brings convenience to the English. The room is very good, the bed room is big enough, the bed is very comfortable, the sofa in the room is very comfortable, the kettle and other equipment are all available, the bathroom is wide and comfortable, very good. There are three minor defects: the 4th floor elevator has to press 1,101-118, 401-4XX are on the fourth floor, the first time into the elevator, can not find the 4th floor, forced for a while, but fortunately my girlfriend is smart, pressed 1. Secondly, if you bring your luggage, sorry, the elevator can only carry one person plus one baggage, and one more person is not willing to move. Third, the shower room is fixed. This is a very tragic design. People stand outside to adjust the temperature of the water, unless you will endure the cold water at the beginning, but people stand outside to transfer water, and the water will splash outside.

Located just a few minutes from the tram station which takes you into Wimbledon (time to Wimbledon around 10 mins). Station in Wimbledon is located right where the buses take you to the AETC (£5 return cost, journey time 10 mins). Owners helpfully provide you with a map. Charming looking place. Very warm welcome, street parking is available right outside. B&B is located in a residential area. Very clean, decent sized room, airy with windows open. Nice comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities provided along with in room fridge and TV. Quiet, we had a great nights sleep. Shower room is modern albeit small. Shower though is powerful and shampoo etc is provided. You’re given a code to operate the door, demonstration is given and you can come and go as you please. Continental Breakfast s provided for a small charge. Very reasonable and a great location, even if your not visiting the tennis, this area of London has lots to offer and this would be a good choice. Hosts are delightful, highly recommend.

I recently spent 3 nights at the hotel and we couldn't have had a better stay. We were very nervous about travelling so far from home in lockdown but an important job came up. We were greeted to a very warm reception and felt instantly comfortable. Our rooms were warm and well aired on arrival. Although no daily housekeeping service is available it really didn't cause a problem as the staff were brilliant and very informing of current procedures and they provided things like extra towels and bedding and pretty much anything we needed. Young man on reception was very helpful in telling us local places to grab breakfast and evening meals for takeaway. We are going to be returning to London in a few weeks and will be staying again for sure.

          - The staff are very friendly and are helpful with local knowledge and nice to have a chat with. - I actually slept very well, but most probably because I was working long shifts for work. I had to work away from home for a while. - The bed was covered in hairs which most certainly weren’t mine - The pillows were flat and scrunched up. For a double room, I’d expect potentially four pillows that are actually comfy - The door was broken off of the frame so didn’t actually close properly, unless you made lots of noise - The rooms actually have a bad lingering smell. I couldn’t find what the cause was, but it was just awful. The window didn’t stay open without a make-shift support too. - Half the plug sockets didn’t work - Mould and cracks in the walls - Bathrooms were abused. I won’t go into much detail but the toilets looked like an explosion in a chocolate factory, the floors were always soaked and had more “curly hairs” on the floor than a barber shop. - My guaranteed “room with a view” on the bookings website was a lie. Look at what I could see!
