          This is a fantastic little place in Messina. It is conveniently located near the city center with a lot of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and the building is quiet despite its central location within the city. Most importantly, everyone we encountered went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The owner and manager, Fabio, is a super nice person and was always ready to help. Overall, highly recommended whether you are in Messina for a vacation or on business.

          Myself, my husband and our in-laws (with them, there were 2 children) all coming from England, stayed at Villa Morgana during the last week of September. We had a wonderful time. The staff was exceptional in answering to our needs and they spoke very good English. The breakfast was good and plentiful, with both international and Italian breakfast offers. The rooms were very nice and the beds confortable. The pool area was well kept, and using the pool while looking at the Lake, was delightful. A couple of us used the Spa's massage services and it was a great experience. Definetly when we will go back to Messina, we will know where to stay.

          First of all, the host is kinder and very polite. I contacted before check-in and was able to enter the room smoothly. The room is very clean and fashionable design. Especially the shower room is large and you can spend very comfortable. Thank you for your welcome drink.           If I could give this place 20/10 for service, I would. When we arrived at the location, we were in a complete state of panic as we thought we had been scammed by the gas station up the road. After checking us in (a few hours early), the receptionist kindly accompanied us back to the gas station and helped us translate between Italian and English, clarifying the misunderstanding of the situation. This was exceptional service and kindness we were not expecting. The room itself was incredibly luxurious - we actually had 2 bedrooms (family suite) for 2 people. The walk-in wardrobe was a delightful surprise, although we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it. As we were both working while on holiday, the study desk in each room gave us the privacy and space to do our meetings and work independently. The bar fridge was useful for us to store our salads, snacks and bottled drinks. The bed was super comfortable and we had a very restful sleep. The pillows were also the right height. Thankfully, there was air conditioning - our previous hotel did not. We slept like babies. The bathroom had all the amenities, including a hairdryer which is essential for me. Best for last - breakfast the next morning was an absolute feast. The continental style breakfast spread was generous and we indulged in pastries, yogurt, fresh fruits and marvellous coffee. I believe everything is baked fresh in house. As we checked out, we were even gifted a bag of pastries to take on our journey with us. ＜3 I highly recommend this place, and I am ever grateful to the wonderful hospitality we enjoyed here.

          Very good value. It is located in the center of messin, so is a 10m walk from the main station. Signing in was a bit confusing as there was no one at the door to let me in, but a number was provided so I called and I was let in. My room card was already premade in an envelope near the entrance, so I didn't need to do anything further. Only bad thing is the drinks in the fridge aren't free and you will be charged if you drink them.

          We were there as a couple for 4 days, generally, it was a good experience, perfect location, tidy room and polite receptionists. Personally, I just didn't like the coffee machine on the breakfast self-service since the taste was unpleasant for me and we wanted to use laundry but it was a little bit pricy, with the price for the service we bought clothes.

          I have stayed at il Galleone this summer together with my family the nights before and after my wedding. Il Galleone is conveniently located in the historical city centre, a stone away from the Duomo/Cathedral square. Everything is literally at walking distance and there are plenty of restaurants and places to eat in the elegant and peaceful neighbourhood. The rooms are well equipped with every comfort: air conditioning, hairdryer, fresh towels, toiletries etc.. They are very nicely decorated and elegant, so they suited perfectly the wedding pictures. The breakfast is kindly provided in the communal room where coffee facilities and pastries are served every morning. A special voucher is offered in addition to this for the very first morning when one can opt to have breakfast in one of the two historical coffee places located in the Cathedral Square, literally 100 metres from the Galleone. Such a bonus! Antonella and Rosario were perfect hosts (at times they felt like family), so welcoming and catering all the demanding needs a bride can have, always supportive and understanding. They went out of their way to make my family have the best experience possible during our stay and I will eternally be grateful to them for this. I highly recommend the Galleone to everyone who needs to be in Messina either for work or leisure. It's a special place run by very amazing people: You will feel like Home! Thank you so much!

          Check-in took two minutes, the receptionist was very professional. We got the key and clear instructions to our room, and the wifi password. The room was functional, but good enough for the purposes. The bed was large enough and comfortable. The room's windows faced the water, and we enjoyed seeing the ferry from the balcony when we opened the window. The room also had a working desk which was good, as we needed space to do some computer work. The bathroom amenities were ample, and we had plenty of fresh linen. Breakfast the next morning was a HUGE spread. Among all the hotels we stayed in Sicily, this one had the most food on offer. The waiter at the coffee station was commendable - we ordered a hot chocolate and the effort he put into making the perfect cup just made our day. I want to make a special mention to the lady at reception. I left my passport in the room after we checked out, and didn't realise it until over an hour later. I rang in a state of panic and she calmly reassured me that they had found it and she was holding on to it for me. Despite the slight language barrier, she communicated compassion perfectly. When I reached the hotel, she handed it over with the kindest smile, and that immediately dialled down my stress levels. 5/5 is not high enough for the service rating of this place, I would give them 10/5 if I could. And the lady at the front desk needs a promotion.
