We really liked it here. I will give all points that I think will make you decide if it’s for you are not. Owners speak little English , however I also speak little Spanish so I think this is more my fault since the hostel is in Spain. We managed though and was no issues and I thought all staff were friendly. A hostel in Spain is just a small hotel. This hostel for info has a reception but no bar or other facilities apart from a garden at the back of the hostel. No lift but stairs easy to go up and down. It’s such a beautiful building and the staircase is gorgeous. Location brilliant and as well as close to the bus station, 2 supermarkets and a few cafes you are also only 5 minutes walk to the centre. Come out of the hotel and go left to go to the main part of town. Turn right and left and left again to supermarkets and some cafes. Or right then right at top of the street to lots more and Mr Wu’s ( you will read more on him later) There was 2 of us and I actually thought the room a ok size. The wardrobe was open plan and there was hangers it looked small but we managed to store all our clothes for a week and I promise I don’t travel light (my case alone was a weight of 25 kilos!) The only mirror is in the bathroom so take a small make up mirror if like me you like sitting down at a dressing table to put your make up on. However around the corner on the top road is Mr Wu’s and you can buy a mirror for only 1 Euro 50, bargain. In the room we had a double bed, 1 side table with a draw and a dressing table with 2 draws. The open wardrobe also had a shelf and a draw. There was also a nice biggish pouffe style chair. The bathroom had a mirror, nice sink with hand wash built in, a hairdryer and a fab double shower. The shower was very good and had 2 shower heads and also shower gel. Above the loo was also a shelf. You do get toilet roll provided and 4 clean towels ever day ( as well as a floor towel) I was really impressed getting clean towels every day as not many places do this. There was no safety deposit box in the room so we had to hide our passports, money etc. However I did feel like it was safe and it was. This is the only thing I would love to have the option if if I went back. There was a small fridge and it did the job. There was also a kettle with tea and sugar provided but I didn’t use this, ( no milk or coffee ). We had a small balcony which overlooked the garden and we were in the 2nd floor. We could hear a little noise now and again but nothing to bother us. The balcony didn’t have any seats, so off we went again to Mr Wu’s where we got 2 small stools for just under 4 euros each ( hopefully will still be there for others to use) They did the job and I’m guessing not provided as it was a small balcony. The wasn’t a plug socket next to the dressing table so I had to plug my straighteners in, in the bathroom or next to the wardrobe (taking my little mirror with me). Plug sockets were next to each side of the bed a

We stayed here for four nights in March, and had a wonderful stay. We had booked to stay in the one bedroomed apartment block up the street where we had stayed last year, but the owner had upgraded us to a two bedroomed apartment in their sister property in the same street. The apartment itself was gorgeous, huge and roomy with a lovely mezzanine bedroom with its own private toilet and terrace. The lower area had a huge lounge diner, roomy kitchen, small shower room and toilet and en suite bathroom off the main bedroom, plus a lovely terrace with sea views. I understand a previous reviewers comment about the small shower, but since there was also a shower over the bath, we simply used that one. Piping hot water 24/7, flat screen TV, WiFi, and large comfy sofa were some of the things that made this for us a superb place to stay. Yes, there was some noise from the building site over the road, but this is something the owners have no control over, and has probably finished by now. It certainly didn't spoil our holiday. Highly recommend.

I arrived last week after a few days in Malaga and was feeling a bit frazzeled after a bad hostel experience in Malaga. Arriving in Nerja on the bus, I asked directions to the Balcon de Europa and was directed through Pintada by the police. I noticed some hostals there and rang on the door of the Hostal Boutique Plaza Cantarero expecting a hostel of sorts. In fact, it was a beautiful hotel offering singles or doubles and due to COVD was pretty empty so I was offered a double room ensuite for 45 Euros which I took as needed to wind down from Malaga. This turned out to be even better than I expected. This boutique hotel has quiet rooms with a youtube button as well as Netflix on the TV. The whole place is done out with a Moroccan style theme and there were books provided to read. I hadn't bothered to read the notice I was handed when I arrived until the following morning . A shame because I discovered there was a beautiful, quiet, sunlit roofgarden complete with a kitchen for guest's use, smoking area, sun loungers and showers. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town, or cook for yourself, it's ideal. It also looked down onto the owner's lovely enclosed garden. The room I had was extemely comfortable with an ensuite shower and lovely Argan Oil shower gels and soap. I believe the hotel also has a "honeymoon" suite from the descriptions of the rooms I saw. I was due to go back to photograph that afternoon but sadly had no battery and couldn't get the camera charged. I would recommend this lovely hostal, nicer than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in. The owners have really paid attention to the smallest details and I would recommend it as a great place to stay, with a lovely local coffee shop and access to many shops, supermarkets and the Balcon de Europa

We had a fabulous room with a terrace and sun loungers looking over the pool and out to sea, the scenery was amazing. The Hotel is right in the middle of the Balcon de Europa and attached to a lovely bar with views of the ocean that are out of this world. The staff were very friendly, the room had a little kitchenette, which was great, the room was very clean and beds very comfortable. You couldn’t ask for more!

Stayed 9-16 February with TUI. On first impressions the room was very nice. King size bed plus a single, excellent shower room complete with hairdryer. No balcony, but actually was not too bothered by this as only there a week, and don’t tend to spend much time on the balcony anyway particularly at this time of year. Hotel was spotless, reception staff and guy in restaurant very nice and friendly. Lovely cooked food plus continental breakfast. Were were booked bed and breakfast, although it was possible to book for evening meal which apparently was good and reasonable - we didn’t bother as we like to go out and try different places. We were allocated room 112, this is where the problem lay. This room sits on top of the bar next door to the hotel and also adjacent to the nightclub which entrance is underneath the hotel. We arrived on a Sunday so on return to the hotel we had a last drink in the bar next door which was closing down around 11.30pm - fine by us. There was some noise constantly in the hotel from the refurbishments going on upstairs on the rooftop pool area which was closed at the time of our visit. The painters were also painting in the reception area on two days. Come Friday night the bar next door to the hotel was absolutely rocking by the time we arrived back at the hotel at around 12.30am. The noise was unbelievable. It appeared that all the local teenagers were in there, most of them hardly able to stand up. Fine, I’ve been young myself but not pleasant to either walk through or hear. When we got up to the room the music noise was ramped up to the point that it felt like the “party” was happening on my pillow. A couple who were also on the front of the building actually took a video the noise plainly and loudly there for anyone who wanted to,listen. Saturday night was a repeat of Friday night. When we spoke to reception we were told there had been a festival. Sorry, there hadn’t, unless it was exclusive to that particular bar and nightclub. We left at 7:50am on the Sunday morning, just as the drunks were leaving the nightclub and we had to tiptoe through the drug paraphernalia that was scattered around the pavements outside the bar and club entrances. I’ve read on here that people say this hotel is quiet, maybe it is at the back of the hotel but not in the front nor on the side of the hotel. As a couple in their late sixties/early seventies, I feel management at the hotel could have ensured that we were not subjected to this particular room, leave it for the teenagers who might have enjoyed it. What is more for reception to act surprised at the fact there was noise is a disgrace. We spoke to several locals who Said at least we weren’t there in the high season when the THREE nightclubs within yards of this hotel were open 7days a week - thank god we were there in low season. I’ve reported this all to TUI but won’t hold my breath waiting for a response. We had absolutely no problems with the location

booked this hotel for four days prior to our villa holiday-excellent receptionist, very clean and nice, even a small fridge in the room and coffee making facilities in the lounge area, pretty central., 5-10 min walk into town. there is a bar underneath which does snacks and drinks, mainly used by the locals which suited us,does not get rowdy and we looked down on it from our balcony! there were unfortunately some British idiots that thought it was funny to come back early hours of the morning shouting and swearing but than can happen in any hotel, you cannot blame the hotel for us British. the only thing to be careful of is booking a taxi,we wanted to book in advance for when we left on the day but the receptionist told us he would book when we checked out as they came within 5-10 mins,he did so, and helped us carry our bags down to the pick up in front of the hotel as the lift was broken, however, the taxi had not come after 30 mins so the receptionist checked with them again, very good service by the hotel. UNFORTUNATELY, the service by the taxi firm which were called Nerja Taxis was not so good, despite taking 40 mins to arrive, the meter starts at 3.80 euro, and when we arrived at our villa in Frigiliana showed 18.40,he made 2 phonecalls during the journey and charged us 30 euro,so much for metered taxis!!! there are several taxi firms which call themselves Nerja Taxis so be wary-we use the taxi rank by Mercadona which I think is also known as Nerja Taxis but they charged the metered amount which was between 16.50 and 16.70 for the same journey, pity I did not have their number, with luggage and shopping we left to hotel to book for us but that is not their fault that the taxi firm ripped us off. I also checked with the Tourist Office in the centre of Nerja but they were not interested, just shrugged and said different taxi firms-when I challenged regarding metering as the taxi was metered, just said they can charge what they want!!!

We have just returned from an amazing family holiday in Nerja, Spain. We stayed a the Marina Turquesa. On arrival at the complex we was a bit disappointed in the room size. Not due to the fault of the hotel itself but due to miss selling by teletext who advised us at the time of making the booking that the 2 bedroom apartment was big enough for 5 adults and 1 small child. Originally at the time of booking I was looking to book separate apartments one for my mum, stepdad and brother and one for myself, partner and son. However we were assured by the selling agent that the apartment was large enough to share. Anyway we spoke to the hotel and enquired about upgrading to a 3 bedroom villa in the complex. The staff at the complex were friendly and helpful. The next day we moved into villa 4. It cost an extra €400 however it was so worth the extra money and made our holiday experience in Nerja one of the best holidays ever. The villa was one three floors, 3 bedrooms on the first floor and a large roof terrace on the second floor. The garden on the ground floor had it's own private pool which was great fun for the kids. Especially as the beach is a hilly 10 to 15 minute walk from the complex which is ok for a reasonably fit adult but not great for young children. The villa and the apartment were both very clean. And there is two large supermarkets one next door and the other a further 2 minutes across the road. We travelled to Nerja for a family wedding and was not sure what to expect as it's not a destination we had heard much about beforehand. It's a beautiful part of Spain, beautiful views and gorgeous weather. We would definitely go back without hesitation.

We had breakfast here most days. The full English was outstanding value. The continental similar. The tostadas with tomato was delicious. One night we went for supper and had the special menu as a treat. This was very very good value and so very tasty. For starter we can recommend the cold meat and cheese platter, all the meats were of the best quality. We had ox tail Spanish style which had been cooked to perfection and the pork in pepper sauce was very tender. On the whole a superb establishment for excellent value meals.

This is a low priced hostal and doesn't pretend to be anything else but for what you pay I really think its excellent value for money. My room was clean and well furnished with a private bathroom. The shower pressure was fabulous, better than in anywhere I have called home! Many rooms do have windows on to the communal area so there can be a little noise and not too much light in the rooms but again think of how much you're paying. Good continental style breakfast. Great location and I couldn't hear any road noise despite being next to the main road and bus station. I would stay here again if in the area

We stayed 8 nights sept/Oct in a lovely 2nd floor room with two juliette balconies. The bed was comfy and the shower was probably the best we've ever had on holiday. There was even a bidet in the bathroom, just a pity we didn't have a fridge in the room and while we had a great view of the square we didn't hear a thing. Plenty of storage space too. We didn't pay the extra for breakfast as we preferred a full English (sorry) but we did eat a couple of times in the evening at the Marissal using our 10% discount card and the food was lovely. Thankyou for a great stay, see you next year...

I originally booked another hotel on the booking, but I forgot to forget it. As a result, I booked this hotel more. I couldn't cancel the booking with Ctrip. I can only continue to live. According to the hotel's definition of children, two children are allowed to stay together. Yes, but at the front desk of the hotel, the front desk said that it can only accommodate 2 adults. Fortunately, Ctrip's customer service responded promptly and communicated with the hotel immediately. The result was a room that did not see the sea at all. This point was bad. The hotel has Elevator card can go to the beach, breakfast because children need to pay extra, parking is 14 euros

This hotel had been recommended to us by Brits, in Nerja, that we met whilst on our October 2018 holiday. It’s a 2 star hotel but it was very good, very clean and very well located for access to the centre of the western side of Nerja and the old town featuring the Balcon de Europa. It is also very good value at about 45€ a night for the room. The reception is small and staffed by one person, so if you happen to arrive just after a party then go and have a coffee in the café that comprises of the majority of the ground floor. There is a lift to the first 3 floors with the 4th floor accessed by stairs; this where the pool is situated. The pool area has some seating and some pleasant views, particularly those look north and the hills. The pool water is very cold. Rooms are generously sized and simply furnished – a fitted wardrobe, a comfortable but firm bed with a bolster pillow (extra pillows plus blanket in the wardrobe), a luggage stand, bedside cabinets with a single drawer, a desk with 2 drawers, a chair for the desk, and a large mirror. A pleasant room but lacking in decoration but the paintwork is fresh and unmarked. For several days I could not get the pillows to give me the best height for my long-standing neck issues (too much computer work), eventually though I did find the combination that worked. There was an air-conditioning unit with remote, and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with remote. There was enough mains sockets in the room, but no phone. The air-conditioning worked well and was quiet enough to leave on whilst sleeping, by the early hours the room got quite cold so we then easily switched it off with the remote. Lighting was sufficient with wall lights on both sides of the bed, a main ceiling light (which didn’t work) and a wall light just inside the room next to the door to the bathroom. The bathroom featured a washbasin with mirror above, a WC, a shower and an efficient wired-in hairdryer was provided next to the mirror. Fresh but small and thin towels were provided every day and stacked on a single wire-frame shelf and basket, the ‘bath’ towel was particularly ungenerous. Soaps and shampoos etc. were provided but lacked quality. Lighting in the bathroom was reasonably good but there was no window, and as a result the bathroom was quite damp unless you left the extractor fan running (which came on with the light). The shower was ‘family sized’ and doors slid towards each other to meet at the outer corner, one moved easily but the other was stiff and needed some effort: not good when standing on a slippery wet surface. The shower leaked out of the long fixed side of the cabinet and this water then pooled near to the toilet bowl. No shelves in the shower for bottles of soap and shampoo. The basin floor in the shower was textured but I still slipped: no grab handles fitted. The shower was fine most of the time with plenty of hot water, but nearly always seemed to lose pressure and heat after a few min

This is not a normal review after a stay but I feel it is important to put one up. From the outset after making the booking found the communication with Ana & Miguel just so good. I along with two friends were booked to stay for three nights but unfortunately due to Irish Government restriction on travel we had to cancel at short notice. Again Ana & Miguel were just so good. As soon as the ban is lifted we will be heading to Nerja & these apartments. Going by their efficiency I think travellers should have a good look at this property. Not surprised they have such a high rating. Thanks Ana & Miguel

Very pleased with the Tres Soles. Loved being in the centre of town and having chosen our room pleased to see that it was exactly as the photo's on Hotels.com described. Very quiet with sea view. Great aircon and large bathroom, although we did have a few hot water issues here during our week's stay. Breakfast a very basic serve yourself arrangement, but we were expecting that. The reception at the Estate agents worked fine for us and although we were arriving after it closed,we had a lovely call from them followed by really clear instructions on how to enter on the morning of our stay. Also we asked in advance for extra pillows which were there on arrival. Great Service. The only improvement we'd like to see is a room safe and a fridge but couldn't fault the stay for the money. We wouldn't rule this place out if returning for a week. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Laid back, sunny, beautiful beach. Best paella in Spain at Burriana beach. Lots of eating choices but Ayo is the best paella in Spain...the sun is out, the skies are blue. There's a gentle buzz about the place, Ayo cooks Paella the size of a school bus. Brits dominate the tourist scene, even the mix of shops along the front have a Brit bias without being too in your face. The beach, if that's your thing, is pleasantly busy with plenty of room. The sea is lovely, a few people go topless if that’s your thing

We booked hotel Al-andalus via a well known booking site. We arrived at the hotel around 9 p.m. following a long drive. Once we had booked in, we were taken for a short walk along a side street, adjacent to the hotel. When we arrived, it was clearly a small, basic apartment, rather than a hotel room, which we had booked. However, given it was quite late at night and we were tired, we decided to stay. My husband was in the shower when he asked me to look at what appeared to be black mould around the tiling. As he had already started to shower, I advised that he finish. I then inspected the shower and discovered black mould throughout the grouting of the tiles, along with cracked tiles. I rubbed the mould with my finger and it was easily removed. The drain of the shower was also covered in black mould. It was evident that the shower had not been clean for some considerable time. I then inspected the fridge and also discovered black, wet mould along the seal of the fridge. I informed a staff member and he came to look at the shower and fridge. He admitted that it was obvious these areas had not been cleaned. I requested another room. A few minutes later, he returned with a cleaner, carrying a bottle of bleach. I informed him that this was not good enough and we were not staying in the room. He said no other rooms were available. I then went to the reception to ask for a refund and that we were not staying at the hotel. The female staff member (quite likely the manager) blankly refused, stating that the shower had been used and the 'room' would have to be cleaned again! At this stage, I offered to pay a reasonable price for my husband using the shower. She refused and appeared disinterested! I informed her I would be complaining to the booking company. We left without any refund or apology. I have to state, that this is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to visit. With so many hotels and other places to stay, in and around Nerja, I would give Andalus, a very 'wide berth'.

3 of us stayed in this apartment for one night in Nerja. 2 adults and 1 child (age 7). It is a studio apartment and the main room has enough room for at least one fold out bed. It was very clean and everything worked easily. It has a microwave, coffee maker (you may need to purchase pods for this). Good WiFi and my son was delighted to have access to YouTube. No dishwasher but it is a small apartment and for short stays this is fine. The aircon worked well. It is a short walk away from the Balcon. This apartment looks overlooks a main road. It is busy enough but I didn’t find the noise a problem. Just a bit of traffic now and again. I would definitely recommend it particularly for a short stay.

We stayed at this hotel from March 3rd - 8th 2020. I booked this hotel after reading the good reviews of it and basically these reviews lived up to the billing! There was a nice atmosphere there due to the amount of people who were almost regulars there it seemed! Returning customers seemed the norm... A good sign always. It's a nice, clean place, the rooms are small but have all you can want and more, kettle and fridge and safe etc and ours had a nice view of the pool and sea...all be it from some distance but still lovely. The cleaning ladies were excellent and towels were changed every day! The food was plentiful and there was plenty of choice for both breakfast and evening meal options. The sun terrace was well filled with beds and we were lucky enough to be blessed with temperatures well into the middle 20's when there. It may be a tad harsh but the staff were ok but few were anymore than that, though this should not put you off as they performed their duties well if not going beyond! Basically a good place to stay, worth the money! I think it only fair to say though the following... it is a hike to walk to the beach or main town, but there is a bus route right outside the hotel and very reasonable!....the food in some cases and dishes were luke warm as opposed to hot... a British expectation maybe?.... The pool is small and in busier times may lead to congestion? There were no families there and no children... great for us and our need for relaxation but worth bearing in mind as the regulars were of a certain age and the evening entertainment catered for this...but in fairness if this is what works don't break it! And it was every evening. There is a well stocked supermarket right across from the hotel and another just out the door, to the left and across the road to top up. If i went to Nerja again i would certainly return to this hotel, do not be put off by my mini rant!...just thought it had to be said

Wow, we were so happy we chose the Plaza Cavana hotel in Nerja. It completely exceeded our expectations for location service, cleanliness, friendly and very helpful staff, from our arrival to departure. Our room was delightful, fresh clean, modern & stylish with a large walk in shower in the Bathroom, including daily fresh thick towels. A tea & coffee machine. Also Two good size roof top terraces offering wonderful mountain views and a peek of the Mediterranean. An ample self serve breakfast lots of fresh and cooked choices. The roof top pool offered sun beds, and seating, and great views. The roof top restaurant was not open until the warmer weather. A very comfy little bar is attached, which offered sports tv and jazz some nights. The location is perfect giving access to the whole town. We had blue Skies and sunshine every day of our late February stay, giving us a chance to explore the area and enjoy the many restaurants and bars shops and views. Taking long walks along the wonderful seaside Boulevards, enjoying Our first taste of Spain. It was very busy in Nerja as the local people were celebrating carnival with festivals, parades and entertainment prior to Lent. We only had 5 nights and loved our stay, just hope we will be able to return one day.

We were travelling back from Malaga late and still had over an hours drive but decided we wanted to stay overnight in Nerja. After trying to book somewhere online and failing and trying the doors of several hostals to be told they were full we were about to give up. We then found NerjaRooms on Booking . com and decided to try them to see if they had rooms. A nice lady answered the door bell and said she had 2 rooms. She allowed us to check out the rooms and said we could have a room at 34 euros for each room. We checked in and paid in advance... They only take cash but that was not an issue for us. The rooms were large and comfortable.with plenty of storage space and doors opening to a balcony and back courtyard with trees and shrubs. One room had twin beds and the other a double bed. towels were also provided in the rooms and also had a TV although I didn't watch it. There were 4 rooms on the 1st floor and 2 bathrooms shared between the 4 rooms, so no en suite, but again that was not a major issue. There was no problem with access to the bathrooms. Bathrooms were well equipped with bath/shower facilities and soap/shower gel. The landing area had tea and coffee facilities although they did run out of the strong coffee capsules for the coffee machine. There was also a hairdryer and iron that was for shared use between the rooms. Checkout time was normally 10am but the lady that checked us in said we could stay until 11:30so we had a nice relaxing start to the morning. There is a small supermarket almost next door that sells food and also some clothes so is very convenient. There is a cafe/bar 1 minute round the corner that does a good English breakfast at a reasonable cost. There are also many other shops within 10 minutes walk. This guest house is only a 2 minute walk to the main bus stop with regular buses to Malaga. This was our main reason travelling to Nerja as we did not want to drive to Malaga. We spend most of the day looking around Nerja and it was very enjoyable on the beach and the Balcony Of Europe, Everywhere was clean, tidy and well maintained. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend this place for a short stay in or around Nerja. I admit, facilities may be limited in this guest house of staying for longer but it depends on what facilities you need.

My husband and I have stayed in Nerja several times but wanted somewhere for 5 days. Jose Luis our contact at the apartments was excellent from start to finish. We arrived after 22.00 and although reception was closed, one simple phone call and help was at hand within a few minutes. All staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, bright and everything we could want/need and very well priced. Surprisingly it also had a basic clean each day. Normally with apartments it’s just before and after your stay. It was quiet with a lovely pool area. Never very busy. Everything is within easy access, the beach, bars and restaurants of Burriana an easy few minutes walk. Would definitely recommend and stay again!!

Upgraded suite with kitchen to cook. Basically all the elderly were staying and breakfast was bustling. Free and convenient parking. Room decoration was a bit aging.
