The rooms are clean and well maintained. At arrival we had 50m from port to hotel and we were met with a fresh coconut to drink. Again an appreciated item. Level of service was all the time very high. This is not a huge resort which gives a closer relation between gunsts and the people working at the resort. Would happily select the same place of going to Gili Meno again.

Right now the whole island is rather quiet, but you can tell that this place is absolute magic once filled with people again :-) it is very clean, beds are comfortable, there is a pool and even a volleyball field, and plenty of space to relax or sit together with friends. Also plenty of space to put your stuff when using the shared bathrooms and working AC 😉 The owners are really nice and friendly people too, always taking the time to chat with us and good to ask for advice what to do/where to go/etc. totally recommend (and hopefully will be back one day)! (Gili Air is such a beautiful place in general btw, like paradise)

|6.32km from city centerThis was our second visit to Manta Dive at Gili Air, and we are already booked to go again in six months' time. We stayed at their garden bungalow accommodation and dived every day with them. We're both dive instructors with a lot of diving experience, but are also both past retirement age and appreciated the extra care the boat staff and our dive guide Mul took with us. The air-conditioned accommodation is excellent, with bottles of drinking water in the room, to supplement the drinking water that is freely available in the outdoor reception area. The bed is comfortable, though for our liking the pillows are a little too thick and huge. There is a fridge and a safe and a semi-outdoors bathroom, with plentiful hot water and a laundry service is available. Each bungalow has a private outdoor verandah with a drying rack and seating. Bring mosquito spray for the evenings, as there is a plug-in insect repellant, but they are persistent! For early risers, the 6.30am sunrises over Lombok island are spectacular. We observed many try dives and Open Water and Advanced dive courses being taught by the patient, knowledgeable and relaxed but safety-conscious Manta Dive instructors. Rafi, Ayu and Mariana are only mentioned by name because we did not get the names of a couple of others, who were also exhibiting excellent practice. We don't think we have ever seen such careful attention paid to beginner divers in our 25 years+ diving. Nothing was too much trouble, and we are sure this is why divers of all experience come back time and again to Manta Dive. Last time we visited, we dived with an excellent guide named Opik. Unfortunately he was off sick this time, but our young guide Mul was an equally perceptive, attentive and welcome replacement. He worked for two weeks to ensure that every dive was an unforgettable experience. We saw white-tip sharks, turtles, blubberlip snappers, but even more amazing, considering one of us has fairly poor eyesight, were the seahorses, ****y scorpion fish, leaf fish and nudibranchs that he took infinite care and time to show us. Divers are placed in an experience-appropriate small group with a guide/instructor. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price, with muesli, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee, or cooked alternatives. A simple but varied lunch is also available after the two dives in the morning. We are pushed to think of any negatives, except maybe, as everywhere on Gili Air, you could find a lot of smokers in the outdoor areas of the dive centre - you might want to position yourselves upwind!

We had problems making our check in dates due to bad weather but the lovely edinga(sorry if spelling is wrong) who runs the place, kept in touch all the way, and made sure our booking was kept. It's been 16 years since we visited gili air and have brought our 14 year old to show him the island, we were given adjoining rooms with shared balcony. The rooms are spotless and the beds are super comfy. The breakfasts delicious and the pool and grounds are very well kept. We as a family love it here with beachfront location and a pool table for the teenager. What's not to like. I would definately recommend staying here too anyone thinking about it. A lovely friendly place to stay.

The place is a short walk from the port which makes all the difference when you have bags, the staff are very welcoming and informative. |6.63km from city centerTurtle Beach Hotel in Gili Air is a lovely little beachside hotel on the east side of Gili Air. About a 20 minute walk from the port. You can wheel your suitcases there but it is a bit of a hike. Horse and cart for around $15 AUD probably better. With great snorkelling directly opposite and lots of bars and cafes extremely close to town it’s well located and a little gem. Bikes and snorkelling gear can be hired next door and the island can be easily rode around in about an hour. Set in beautiful traditional gardens, the rooms are wood filled bungalows with mosquito nets and outside showers which are quite novel. Lovely and quiet with excellent air conditioning and a good size fridge / freezer. Staff are lovely and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a basic set course of a tasty Mie Goreng, Nasi Goreng or eggs with fruit, fruit juice, tea or coffee. Look some TLC is probably needed to bring a few negative aspects up to scratch ... the pebble finish in the shower was incomplete, the toilet didn’t flush well at all and the room was very dark. So this may not suit some but most places in Gili Air are still a work in progress since the earth quake. Sensor lights made walking back at night feel really safe though. But look overall, great value at around $60 AUD per night. I’d come back again.

My daughter has a dietary requirement of ‘Gluten free’ (due to Coeliac disease) and the Staff went out of there was to assist with our needs. The staff are the most hardworking and kindest people I have ever come across. Nothing is too much trouble and they look after you in every possible way. June was particularly amazing, serving our breakfast, changing our mosquito burner each night, helping us with small gecko issue and recommending where to go on the island. They will meet you at the harbour and carry bags to the villa and do the same when you leave. We wanted to open a bottle of wine with a cork and they went to the trouble or getting a drill and nail to get it out, because there was now corkscrew. Literally will do anything for you to have the best stay. We had excellent massages in the comfort of our room. The villa is really close to the beach where sunrise is. Honestly top class service and will definitely stay there again.

The small kitchen was rebuilt differently, but the nice family is still there and cooks the best Indonesian kitchen I had so far. If you don't stay there, you'll go down, sit on the beach on the beds and let you bring the food to the sunset. The bungalows are not in the middle of the tourist trouble, no noise is played, but only the silent Reggae sounds, the bar next to are hearable. A Paradise We had a bungalow with air conditioning this time, which was very pleasant when it gets very hot.

They also gave us some good reccomedations for places to eat. The huts are so gorgeous, stunning and clean, the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. There is even an AC unit behind the fan for extra comfort, although we found it unnecessary to use. The bathroom is clean and large with a freshwater shower and even hot water! I expected bugs would be a problem, but was surprised by how few were around. The staff brought breakfast to our villa each morning at the time we requested along with hot fresh coffee. (French press coffee. Not instant.) The staff even offered free laundry service for us! Aari, the staff member who catered to us during our stay, is passionate about vegan cooking and offered to give us cooking lessons during our stay.
All the staff spoke fluent English and another staff member mentioned he speaks French as well.
We could not have asked for a more perfect and restful location. Highly reccomend for couples or people looking to get away from the crowds. Please check this place out!

However, the air conditioning wasn’t the best and there was an occasional horrible smell. I suspect it was because the rooms are wooden with high ceilings, making it difficult to cool efficiently. The bathroom was partially open to the elements and showed signs of wear and tear. From a distance, the pool looked gorgeous, but up close, it didn't seem as clean as I would have liked. On a positive note, the bar and restaurant were great. They had live music on some nights until 10 pm, which added to the atmosphere. The cocktails were quite good as well. One thing to note is that we stayed at the back of the grounds, and we could hear the call to prayer five times a day starting at 5 am. My husband managed to sleep through it, but you can hear it, although it's not too loud. Despite these issues, I have to say that the hotel offered good value for money. Its location, just a 6-minute walk from the harbor, was very convenient. In terms of ratings, I'd give the rooms and pool a 3.5 out of 5. However, the staff were absolutely lovely, so friendly, and they deserve a 5 out of 5. Their hospitality really made the stay enjoyable.

The water in the shower is salty and smells funny but that happens all over the island, so you cannot get demanding. Maybe they could be extra cleaner, but it's a nice room for that price and the guys were willing to help us. We went in low season, maybe if the price would be higher the value for money will depend on what you'll find in other parts of the island.

The transportation is only bicycles and carriages. The carriage is very expensive. From the pier to the hotel, you can only take a carriage. The hotel is not easy to find. The room is not the same as expected. Although it is a villa, the conditions on the island are still incomparable with the island of Lombok. It is not recommended to stay overnight on Gili Island.
