Made the booking early middle of July as I thought it will be full of crowd since going to be school holiday. And free cancellation from booking.com as well. What else u wanted if coming to cameron highland? Cozy place right? This is the place. As I working in hospitality industry,I don't need 5 star place to stay. I need nice warm and cozy ambiance. Nice place to stay,sleep and of course u don't need air conditioning here . Will be enough. I only spend Rm 200 something just for 8 night! Anyway thanks to Mark and Daus for the hospitality and cookies almost everytime I had my breakfast. I'll see u next time. Be safe. Pray for everyone safety's.

The staff is extremely friendly and well informed about hiking trails, restaurants and everything you need to know. The common kitchen is basically equipped, enough to prepare snacks, sandwiches, etc. During our stay we had one minor issue with the shower. For us it was a bit tricky and it took a while to get hot water. Besides everything was great and I can strictly recommend to stay at Gerald's.

The hotel is very enviroment friendly which is great for clearing your mind and to have a relaxing holiday.The room has a lot of windows that gives you natural lighting and chilled night too.Unfortunately, the toiley does not have bidet but it has a different toilet bowl for cleaning.Besides, there's also not much channel on the tv as well as old fridge, the freezer dosen't work.It was full of ice.Lastly, this hotel is quite strict since you have to book the room according the number of your family members.Example, you have to book a family sized room for family of 4.Will come again for sure because its a very lovely and nice hotel!

Within 10 seconds can be too hot, and next 10 seconds too cold. So you can guessed it. Showering wasn't pleasant at all. Room desk having ants everywhere. Felt so annoying. The Indian lady boss isn't friendly. Breakfast so so only. Don't bother getting one. This place was beautiful before but in serious need of upgrading and better maintenance. It's a waste to see this place in ruins. The receptionist Adilla is friendly luckily. And no, we won't be back at Bala's.

We rolled up at about 10pm after dragging our luggage across town. Note: difficult to find taxi or Grab after 9pm. They gave us a room for the night but we stayed for 3. The staff were great, especially Elaine, who provided heaps of useful guidance and also organized our self-drive motorbike tour. She's a gem. The property is quiet and pleasant. Good public areas and grounds. Prices competitive. We had a double with private en-suite. Hot water was useful in this climate. Internet was a little unreliable. Didn't sleep well but that was mostly due to change in climate. Clean and sure to be a success, especially compared to our intended hotel.

|0.53km from city centerOne of the cheaper options in Cameron Highlands. The hostel is quite clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a light, fan, socket and shelf in each bed with a curtain to enable privacy. You are not provided with free towels or shower products, but you can rent towels for 5 ringgit. The shower in our room was temperamental and was sometimes very cold or had no water pressure, but it was ok for the most part. Wi-Fi worked excellently throughout the whole hostel which is great. There is a public fridge available for use and the hostel offers laundry for 18 ringgit for 3kg (we didn’t use this as it is cheaper to do self service nearby). The location is perfect and it’s very close to the limited number of shops and restaurants in Tanah Rata. You can also book tours through the hostel and there is walking tours every day. The staff are ok but reinforce rules about housekeeping very firmly, a bit too ‘school like’ for me, but understandable to try and keep the hostel clean and quiet. Overall, a good budget stay but I’m glad we didn’t have to spend more than 3 nights, but perfect for backpackers on a budget.

|0.86km from city centerHad a great time at this boutique hotel. It’s relatively new and adopt a very interesting design concept. They only have 10 rooms I think. The landscaping around the hotel was really nice. The location of this place is in Tanah Rata, so it’s not as crowded as Brinchang, also it’s not as congested in terms of traffic. You only get one car park per room. It’s situated right at the end of the street, quite secluded and very private.
There’s no one waiting during check in, basically, you text a number and someone comes out to give you keys to your room and ask for breakfast selection for the following morning. All communication was done through the WhatsApp. We also asked for extra towels and shampoo, owners were very courteous and generous.
Felt very safe for my family with young children could just roam around freely. In terms of amenities, there’s no swimming pool or gym facilities. But there’s a place to do bbq and gather in the common area. They give you the auto gate lock if you were to drive out and come back late at night, you can allow yourself in and lock the gate yourself.
In the morning you can hear very loud bird chirping. The air was very fresh! But we were awoken by the loud noise of grass trimming from next door, some government office. There’s also a dormitory next door and you can hear evening prayers.
Nearby, there’s a lot of shops and restaurants whereby you will find no problems settling your meals, about 5 mins walk down to the Main Street.
Just a few things to note :
- There’s a lot of stairs and if you have elderly in your entourage, it is not very convenient getting to the room. You may ask for ground floor rooms of course. The stairs worked super well for my children though, they just enjoyed going up and down so much!
- We booked loft rooms. The toilet and bath tub is located next to the main door. It’s open concept, meaning if you were to take a shower at night or go to toilet, it’s going to be cold.
- The beds are on the top floor, so if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk down the stairs.
- The bathtub and shower design is not so convenient for young children or elderly.
- Breakfast comes in very cute tiffin boxes. They place it outside your door around 8 plus. However, I always couldn’t catch their delivery on time, and most times the food is rather cold already.
Overall, I still enjoyed my stay very much. I think would very suitable for young couples, and groups of young travelers.

|0.89km from city center1. We arrived at about 12:45PM, but the receptionist informed that the earliest check in is after 2PM. A bit calculative there. Since it’s hotel policy we just agree to it. But it’ll be nice if they allow early check in. At least make people happy after driving for 5 hours.
2. Upon check in, noticed that there’s no hand/face towel. Called the housekeeping, and they informed that they only provide towel for shower and floor mat and there’ll be additional charges for hand/face towel. That’s just ridiculous! If it’s a no star hotel I dont mind. But 3 star hotel with strict check in policy? That’s just too much. Initially they wanted to give one and asked us to share. I don’t know what’s their level of hygiene is. Finally after much debate, they agreed to provide 2 pairs of hand/face towel to us without additional fee.
3. During weekend off course there high occupancy, suggest that the hotel staff not to park at the covered parking and give way to the paying guest to park. The staff parked motorbike right next to my car and other staffs also parked their cars at the covered parking where there are open parking that they can park at.

|0.79km from city centerNow where do I start... There were many twists and turns before I finally decided on my stay at Rover's inn. Finally, after booking and cancelling several accommodations , I decided on this one.
Upon looking at the pictures and the price, I thought the entire experience of staying here was just going to be so-so.
But the entire experience really exceeded my expectations! Upon stepping foot into the hotel, I was greeted by the melody of soft jazz wafting into the lobby.
The owner warmly greeted me with a smile when I arrived at night, and he filled me in on the rules of the place.
Maybe it's because I've been staying amongst the hustle and bustle of Singapore for too long - but the quaint, quiet and peaceful surroundings of the hotel felt absolutely refreshing and peaceful.
I also really like the fact that the management makes it a point to make sure that noise is reduced to a minimum.
The hotel room turned out to be really spacious too, and for the price , it is really quite reasonable.
There is a lounge and a cute outdoor dining area for guests to consume their meals. Water, coffee and tea are also provided. In the lounge area, there are also some books that guests can read ☺️
I chose the classic - men are from Mars, women are from Venus.
On the last day of my stay, Jessie forgot to return me my deposit and she specially called me up to make arrangements so she could return me the money. Really thankful for her honesty.
Facilities wise, the only think I would really have wished could be included was a hair dryer! I couldn't find one and I really needed it to dry my hair.
But I guess the hotel management would need more income to upgrade their facilities ? For the price, I really can't complain.☺️
Another thing is the walls are kinda thin? So sometimes I can hear the other guests in other rooms which kinda disrupts my sleep. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with my entire experience here ♥️☺️☺️
