My husband and I were staying for the week in Italy with my cousin and her husband who own a house there. We decided to stay in Ostia rather than Fiumicino the night before our flight like they usually do. The price was very reasonable. The accommodations were fine. Bathroom was a little small and pillows were flat which is quite common in Italy. But the room was comfortable with a cute balcony adjoining my cousin's room. Check in was simple enough. The gentleman at the restaurant checked us in but provided very few instructions on how to get in and out of the property or breakfast and checkout in the morning. There is a cafe downstairs with very little indoor seating (3 two seater tables crunched under the buffet bar). Although chilly on November, we decided to sit outside so we could all four sit together for dinner. We were able to coax them to turn out the patio heater for us. The food was delicious, but our female server was reluctant to be friendly or helpful and did the bare minimum. My cousin's husband speaks Italian fluently enough that there wasn't a language barrier. She could also speak some English. She was either having a really bad day or didn't care for tourists. The next morning we went down for breakfast at 6:30 because we needed to leave for our flight at 7. The same gal was working and was even less friendly than the night before like we were inconveniencing her even though the paperwork in the room showed breakfast starting at 6:30. She served our croissants and put the order in for our eggs. We asked her how long it was to the airport so she knew we were catching our flight. She was in no hurry to help us. We asked how to check out and she mumbled something unintelligible and walked away. She brought the paperwork to check us out about 10 minutes later. We finally had to get up to leave and the eggs came out on plates (30 minutes after they were ordered). We told her we had to leave for our flight. She didn't say a word to us and scraped the eggs into to-go containers and handed them to us. I wouldn't recommend this B&B simply for the two experiences we had with this one young lady. I certainly hope she isn't related to the owners because she isn't doing them any favors and is really spoiling what would otherwise be a pleasant experience for travelers. She should not be in the service industry. My husband and I are new to international travel in the last 5 years but we are far from being considered snooty American travelers. We try to fit into and really enjoy the local culture of the places we visit. We prefer the towns and activities off the beaten path. This was the first time I felt like we were pre-judged for being American. I wish her the best, but hope she finds a more suitable job that makes her happy.

1) Owners/operators Franco and Flavia were hands-on, friendly, and superb; 2) The location is great; close to Ostia Antica historical park, yet also close to Rome FCO Airport; 3) The owners provided free shuttle service to and from restaurants; 4) They gave excellent restaurant recommendations; 5) They charge a reasonable fee for shuttle to and from the Rome FCO airport; 6) The rented unit contained an excellent clothes washer and kitchen; 7) The owners provided a nice supply of food for breakfast, as well as nice accompanying things in refrigerator like milk and juices; 8) The rental unit had an excellent air conditioner, which helped as Rome and Europe were experiencing a heat wave; 9) The B&B has a very nice pool, which is kept very clean and is very nice to keep one cool when it is hot. Staying at Franco and Flavia's B&B was a real treat and we highly recommend it.

We stayed here for a wk .The rooms were nice & clean .The hotel staff were friendly & helpful. The pool is lovely. It was small but ok for what we wanted as we came to visit Rome. We stayed here because we wanted a hotel near the beach & a pool & nearby train & bus services into Rome .Also a short bus ride to the shops & beach .The breakfast was good .We didnt use the restaurant. We ate out alot .Ostia Antica & Rome are very beautiful places ..We loved Italy . Only one small thing which could be looked at was there was no path outside the hotel .Its a busy road so you can't walk into the town .Unless you walk the back way ..but we used the no 4 bus which was regular. Our taxi cancelled 7 mins b4 due to pick us up .The guy on the front desk got the driver of their shuttle bus to take us to the airport. They run more to Fumachio airport & we were Champio ..But it wasnt a bother .Saved us from possibly missing our flight so big thankyou . We had an amazing wk & will definitely be back .Trudi Abe & Sam Torrance x

We happened upon this guest house B&B because our flight was delayed for a day. This will probably be the only time I am happy to have a delayed flight - otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed in this hotel. The villa is magical with a lovely garden and pool. The room we had booked last minute was small but perfectly adequate with modern bathroom. Aircon worked well and was quiet. The swimming pool was warm. Breakfast was sumptuous with cold and hot options. The host was friendly. So much nicer than a soulless airport hotel. Would definitely recommend.

I was hesitant because of the range of reviews, but I thought since it’s only 2 nights before we leave Europe, close to airport...let’s try it. Honestly we had very low expectations, but it ended up being really great. The grounds are beautiful and you need to go through the spa to the many gardens and pathways, pools, saunas, hot tubs etc in the back. Such a surprise! Spend the time/money to do this. It is VERY European. My husband did not have a Speedo so we were kinda obviously not from the area...this is a VERY popular place for the locals on the weekends. Some smokers, but not bad. Big place so no biggy. Many acres of space. Make a dinner reservation! The staff on the facility was efficient, food was good, room very nice...just don’t expect everyone to be super friendly...which was fine with us. No one was rude. We consider this place a little more upscale. We easily got a cab to airport to go into Rome via public transportation one day and then we got the same cab to take us to airport next morning for our flight. We are really glad we stayed there and certainly will again some day. A nice way to end the long cruise vaca before heading home. A surprisingly lovely place so very very near the airport!

We had an amazing holiday during August 2020. The male staff member not completely sure of his name but he was ever so helpful, he did everything we asked and more. He checked us in promptly, provided an additional duvet and pillow and helped with bus and metro enquiries and booked taxis for us too. The facilities are amazing, the 2 pools are massive and plenty of room for all with lifeguards always present. The atmosphere around the pool is vibrant and lively and exercise classes are on offer for adults. If you want peace and quiet this is also possible as the poolside is so large and there are plenty of sun beds so you can find somewhere away from the noise. My son aged 15 years old enjoyed all the sports offered especially the football tournaments. He was very fond of the club rep who ran majority of sporting activities and even though there was predominantly children from other nationalities he was made to feel included and soon made friends. The club rep was very enthusiastic and great with the kids. Sport activities are offered daily, such as, table tennis comps, football, volley ball, water polo, darts. All children will not have time to get bored and enjoy all aspects of the camp. As a family we played tennis a couple of times and crazy golf and my son hired karts with his friends which you can hire for as little as 10€ for 4 hours! We ventured out to the local beach which was a short bus ride away costing only €9 for 3 of us. Plenty of private beach’s so plan ahead and make a full day of it. We also spent time in Rome on a number of days seeing all the famous places which was surreal. We paid for a cycling tour trip around Rome booked through ‘Wheely Bike Rental & Tour.’ It was the best thing we did and my son loved it more than us. You literally cycle all over the centre of Rome with your own tour guide and stop at all the famous monuments and then end the tour with a pizza and beer at a restaurant outside the colosseum. This was by far worth every penny and our tour guide a lady from Holland was exceptional and her knowledge of the city was brilliant. The transport is easy to use and buses to both the beach and the centre of Rome can be caught at the end of the street to the left of the camp. Number 070 takes you to the beach or to the Metro station and then the metro takes you straight to Rome. As you leave the metro station you literally face the colosseum which is breath taking. The restaurant and shop on site are good and relevantly cheap. The carbonara and seafood options were my favourite, oh and the pizzas obviously.

This hotel was the worst experience of my life! Do not stay here! They lie about shuttle service, wifi and recommend restaurants that rip off the customer. I was travelling with my husband over the past month and he returned home on October 10, while I continued my travels for another 5 weeks. After experiencing Rome for the prior 4 nights, I felt that due to rather the unreliable nature of travel in Rome since my plane was departing early, I would book a hotel close to the airport with a shuttle service. I chose to book at Euro House Inn Airport Hotel & Residence, Fiumicino, ITALY because advertising indicated it as having a shuttle. This is a Hilton/Hampton Inn & Suites chain hotel. I wrote down the manager's name on the business card I picked up at the hotel, Fabiola Cianfrocca. I had communicated with the hotel and was informed that there would be a pick up location at the airport for 1400 which worked well with my arrival. However, I was shocked to find out otherwise that airport transfer for a single person was 20 Euros and my early morning transfer would be 30 Euros. This information was relayed to me after I was already en-route to hotel. When I arrived at the designated pick up location and waited for 20 minutes, there was no shuttle. Upon phoning the Euro House reception, they informed me that the driver had an emergency and there would be no shuttle. I was stranded and alone with big luggage pieces at the airport and was informed that I would have to take a taxi! I asked about bus service and he emailed me the information about this option. I walked the length of the airport and had to ask five people about the local public transportation before finding the bus stop. It is obvious that the Romans do not want to encourage use of the public transportation. I finally boarded the bus, which cost 1 Euro. I sat behind the driver because he kindly offered assistance to make sure I got off at the correct bus stop. My big suitcase partially obstructed the aisle. Part way along the journey and blonde woman got on and rudely elbowed her way to the window seat next to me without any civilities. The bus behind me was more than half empty. It seemed very peculiar that she insisted on climbing over top of me and jabbing me with her elbows. It was obvious I was a tourist. The stop before I got off she once again rudely pushed over me to get off. It was all a very strange experience and I just took note but did not think again about it. I got to the hotel and the gentleman at the desk was the one who had communicated with me earlier and was the only pleasant experience I had. He seemed apologetic but stated that they do not really have a shuttle service. They have a driver in a private car that they hire only as required. He informed me that he would see what he could do about my early morning transportation to the airport, but he was going off duty and the evening shift was coming on shortly. It was quite

Great hotel for landing at FCO after long flights or early morning departures. Location is right next to airport and train station. It is about a 10 minute walk from baggage claim, at the end of the parking garages. As with most Hilton hotels, this one is very clean and has a great staff working. Larger rooms (Europe hotel rooms tend to be smaller) and a large breakfast. I was traveling with my 6 year old son and after 14 hours, we were ready to shower, rest and then see the city. The hotel has a free shuttle service (only used it to go into the city, I do not believe they pick people up to go back to the hotel) that will take you to the city center. The shuttle departs every 2 hours. I have stayed here several times over the years and have not had a bad experience.

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. I understand and accept, that due to the Covid19 procedures, there was room cleaning on request only, that the minibar was empty and that the breakfast buffet was modified. What is unacceptable for me is: thereception almost always empty with the receptionist hiding in the office (try to call the with a mask on ...), room smelling like humidity, one whole day waiting to get wifi access, breakfast and dinner choices limited and poorly executed (scrambled eggs looked like carbonara and the pasta was overcooked and unacceptable by all standards ) and, last but not least, arguably the worst coffee products I ever tasted in Italy ( how can a Sheraton hotel in Italy, use an all in one machine is a mystery to me). Cherry on the top, the 2 last days, there were some sort of gathering and i never saw anybody checking on the respect of wearing a face mask and respecting social distancing. No surprise we decided, for the upcoming booking, to move to different hotel

Perfect location, especially if you arrive from the train station, so you can directly leave your luggage and walk in the biggest open hair museum: Rome! The hotel is very modern and new! The twin bedroom was equipped with all the facilities and spacious and spot clean. The Staff and the property are very well prepared and following the new Covid safety procedures. A special thanks to the reception team, the super funny guy that welcomed me and my friend upon arrival and the amazing lady that was there upon check out. Keep it up with the great job and I’ll see you on my next visit, Ciao

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived late gone 10pm pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was still open lovely food. Also offered a snack menu if we wanted to eat after 10.30pm. Very lovely bar and chill out areasThe room was immaculate with a very decent bath and shower. Breakfast was continental but plenty of it. 20 minute bus ride into central of Rome. €12.00 euros ticket covers 48hours and can be used on all public transport. We used the bus, train and tram. Restaurants in Rome all charge for sides i.e. veg or salad etc. Eat in the ones way from the main attractions by a couple of streets. Wear trainers as you end up walking alot and pack a travel umbrella. Stayed 2 days and saw loads Night time was a magical atmosphere everything lit up.

Though the beds need to be updated, the room was big, and the location was perfect as it was close to the terminal. However, the city tax they charge was quite expensive. The hallway set up was a little confusing at first but not too bad. One hallway was a little creepy though; and the spa seems to open late and close early. The staff were nice and love the rooftop bar.

We travelled as a family of 2 Adults & 2 Children. Most part of our trip to Europe we were all in 1 room, however at Rome we had booked a quad room with connecting doors, and this was amazing for all family members to have a bigger space. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Beds & pillows super comfortable, wifi works great. In the main room there was an amazing space to do your make up each morning with a mirror and lights, lighting needs to be a little brighter but great to have own area. Breakfast was only 9€ and quite a big selection, both of my fussy eaters enjoyed! The waitress was lovely and kind. Walking distance to everything - we chose to walk over the city as everything is walking distance and you get to see more, however HoHo bus stops are close, and walking distance to Terminal train station. I would 100% stay here again, and recommend this hotel to anyone! Also a mention to the staff in reception, who were very kind with check out! Great hotel, stay here!

We were planning a stay in a Rome prior to our cruise and selected The Hassler due to its pre-cruise package - a great deal. We took advantage of the personal assistant at the airport and the hotel transfer and felt like VIP’s. Very welcome after our long overnight flight from the US. The assistant insisted on handling our bags for us and getting us through some airport construction to find our driver. All seamless. We spent 6 lovely nights at The Hassler in early Feb 2020. The staff were so friendly and accommodating from the time we entered the hotel treating us like frequent returning customers. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the Spanish Steps and what a view! A very comfy bed, too. We enjoyed a few meals in Salone Eva and enjoyed great food and impeccable service. Such friendly staff who made certain we were happy with everything from our drink orders to our food. The buffet breakfast was really good, too, with a wide variety of selections and the same service in a beautiful dining room. So many friendly people who pampered us and made us feel like we were the most important people there. We loved their Amorvero body lotion and wish we could buy it online but unable to find it anywhere. Our transfer to Civitavecchia took us right to the cruise terminal and helped us get our bags dropped off with the handlers. All top notch service. We hope to return here in the future to enjoy the luxury of the Hassler. This was the best service we have ever experienced and heartily recommend staying at this hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed at the Monti Palace Hotel for a week in September. It is worth saying this was during the coronavirus pandemic so Rome was very quiet although case numbers in Italy were low. Firstly, the positives:- Location - hotel is right on top of the metro station which is very convenient. Note that you have to change at termini for several locations in central Rome. 20 min walk from Trevi fountain or pantheon, 10 mins to forum and colosseum. Small supermarket directly across the street and lots of restaurants in the local vicinity. We had good, cheap food at La Base, Ai Tre Scalani and Iari the Vino. Check in - we arrived at 12:30 and were informed the room was ready - much appreciated after an early start. We were told we had been upgraded to a superior room but that is the room type we had booked (and shows on our booking confirmation) No problem so we didn’t say anything but a bit odd to say we had been upgraded. We also requested a high floor to be away from the road noise and were put on the top floor for rooms. Room - room was a good size and overall very clean. The bathroom in particular was lovely. Housekeeping did a very thorough job each day. Air con was great and the bed was very comfy. But, see below the negative points The not so good things:- Breakfast - was included in our rate (not free included in the price!) it was pretty dire to be honest. I know with covid it is difficult but can’t understand why they couldn’t offer toast (we specifically asked on the form you fill in, in both English and Italian and were given bread), or why fruit such as a banana couldn’t be offered. We had the bacon one day - was the soggiest bacon I’ve ever seen and arrived in less than 2 mins so I assume was microwaved? Conversely the croissants are cold and from a packet. I understand it is a really hard time but I do think they could be doing better. The water and juice was good. Reception - usually very good but I did ask one member of staff if I could pay to print out some tickets for the colosseum we had booked last minute. He said only from 2pm which I thought was very odd (and too late for us!) seemed like he just couldn’t be bothered and his colleague would be on the desk by 2pm. The lift also seemed to smell really bad every time we used it. Light switches - the one anomaly in otherwise a very clean hotel. The light switches were filthy - really disgusting, looked like they’d never been cleaned and this applied to all of them - the two by the bed, the bathroom and by the main door to the room (pics attached). Storage - the room has been designed by a designer rather than by someone who has actually tried staying in the room! We had the largest size of room and it had one single wardrobe maybe 2.5ft wide - with a rail, and two shelves (there was another shelf but well out of reach). Half of one of the shelves was taken up by the safe. There was no other storage in the room other than open surfaces eg. table, bench by door. There wasn’t a si
