"We stayed here for two weeks. We have a dog. The fee to keep a dog is a one time fee. they have a strict mask policy. The kitchen worked well for us. The staff is wonderful. If we had a problem, they fixed it. The lead manager, Mario, couid teach classes on customer service. We are here during Covid, and many of the places we have stayed at over the past few months have not been able to deliver on their amenities, but here they do their best. They still offer a free breakfast, although it consists of frozen Subway breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, a granola bar, a packaged Danish, & fresh fruit... The pool & the whirlpool are open on reservation. It is wonderful to have the pool all to yourself! In the parking lot, there are three restaurants , a deli, and a Starbucks. We had takeout from Leucadia Pizza, which was excellent & theit chocolate chip cookies are divine! We also ordered entrees from Mr. Taco, which were delicious. Then we purchsed their family dinner special, which is a taco buffet for 4. for $25. A bargain, which provided 3 meals for us. I do not recommend the horchata, however. There is also a pet supply store there with a wonderful & knowledgeable staff. We also took advantage of the mobile veterinarian who comes every other Sunday. Tabu, the sushi restaurant, was not open. If you have a dog, there is Vista's only sanctioned dog park a block away where you can take your dog off leash. Unfortunately, a lot of the owners are off mask, as well. There is also a playground there for children which is fenced off from the dogs. There is a path and trails to walk on. There is a large parking lot across from the Cevron statio that serves several medical offices. It is empty at night and early in the morning. Our dog loves to run, so we take her over there and there is usuall no one else around. Adjoining the parking lot is a neighborhood of houses that are excellent for walking, as well. A mile + aw2ay is a shopping center with a Sprouts and a Trader Joe's to purchase groceries. There is also a Peet's Coffee there (our favorite) as well as several other stores. Across from the Trader Joe's ia a nice park if you bring your dog." "One benefit of a Platinum Elite is the opportunity to be upgraded to a suite! We had an overnight stay in room 334, it’s a two-bedroom suite with full kitchen in the corner of the building, overlooking the pool. The room was very spacious with full fridge, and kitchen stuff! Each room has a queen bed. Both beds are okay, linens and towels smelled fresh, room was tidy, and has working air conditioning. I highly recommend that the hallway and staircase be kept clean all the time! Please vacuum the floor! During breakfast, we noticed that the staff were NOT attentive to breakfast served. Multiple people asked for bananas, boiled eggs, plates, etc! The staff manning this station were NOT always looking for any missing thing needed at the breakfast tables. They NEED to pay attention to their task!!!! Besides this, all is perfect!" "If you are looking for a clean, quite, affordable, and comfortable place to stay for a while....This is it! We experienced excellent customer service; from Mario at check in, from Miguel when we had to extend our stay, and from Amanda when we checked out. Being a Gold Member we were lucky to get an upgrade due to availability- thank you Mario! I will be booking more through Marriott Bonvoy than Hilton Honours for Gold Members. Well done Marriott! Driving to Balboa Park San Diego takes 40 minutes, Oceanside takes 15 minutes, and Carlsbad takes 24 minutes. We enjoyed Mr. Taco’s in the same complex as the hotel. "

"Temporary stay for one night, the hotel is on the high speed, it is the motel. The surrounding shopping supermarket is very convenient, the room air conditioning sound is too loud, can't sleep without opening it? There are very few breakfast seats, the quality of service can't keep up, and it's not timely." "Great rooms for the price, has everything you need for a stay." "Don’t stay here! The room was half empty, no furniture except the bed, vinyl floor, no black out curtains to provide privacy, sheers only, no couch, no chairs, no table, no floor lamp. The only table lamp didn’t work, had to use the bathroom light to try and illuminate room. Old shower tub combo with dirty white (gray) tile. Nothing good about this old dated hotel. It should be demolished and rebuilt. The worst La Quinta Inn that I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many across the country from coast to coast. It was cheaper for a reason!"
