If you want to have a proper hot water shower, don’t forget to turn on the water heater. There is drinking water and a microwave next to the reception. (public space) but 2 bottles of water are provided in each room. Basically there are only 2 rooms on each floor. Front side and back side of the building. Therefore, there is less noise from other guests staying in the next room, which is excellent as you don't need to hear the door banging sound. I stayed in a room at the backside for a night, so the room had no view as I could guess although there was a window. Also I stayed in a room at the front side for 2 nights, which had a city view from the window. Pros and Cons: Room at the backside doesn't have a view but it is bigger and every piece of equipment worked properly. There is a desk and 2 bedside tables but no view at all. It is very typical room in Hanoi. The Room at the frontside has a city view but much smaller,(narrower to be exact) than the one on the 2 nd floor. Luckily I had a room on the top floor but the showerhead was broken. There is no bedside lamp although there are 2 bedside tables. I had to stand up when I wanted to turn off the light as the switch is located near the door. Also I saw many ants, whereas I didn't in another room ( it was a room at the backside on the 2nd floor). There is no desk in the room on the 7th floor. The Top floor is the 7th floor. The lift goes to only the 6th floor, you have to step up the stairs to get to the 7th floor. (there are 2 rooms on the 7th floor. The other room on the 7th floor is very far. You won't hear anything from other guests. The Toilet flush is very weak in the room on the 7th floor. The water was dripping from the AC and it went directly into my charging adaptor. Unfortunately the location of the socket was exactly en route of the dripping water and my adapter was receiving the water. As a result of it, my recharger was broken. (before that, a fuse was blown in the room. I had no idea why there was totally no power in the room when I was back from lunch...) Other than the above, other equipment is the same between the 2 rooms. Mini fridge, safe, electric kettle, huge TV, AC, bathrobe,,, etc but no tissue paper is provided. If I come back to this hotel, I definitely don't want to stay in the room on the top floor. Very modern small hotel but you have to pay at the reception. I prefer CC payment through AGODA in advance so I don’t need to carry much cash. The location is excellent. There is a Circle K in front of the hotel. If I am not wrong, there is only one TV channel. You can ask airport transfer for US$15 (from airport) , 280,000 (to airport) The best room looks like #601, I never want to stay in 701.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The best service at a hotel I've ever received. From the fruit and juice as the welcoming, to the kind greetings each time when walking in and to the takeaway breakfast from my 5am early check out - the staff at Hanoian Lakeside were great! I even struggled to find a money exchanger and the staff personally walked me over there. Hotel room was spotless clean! Location was also fantastic. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back here.
