We have visited more than 50 countries and always stay at top hotels. For us, Cappella Hanoi easily ranks in the top five anywhere - for comfort, high quality service, professionalism and friendliness throughout. Everyone from the General Manager all the way to the waiters, the Front Desk, Spa personnel, etc., were just fantastic. The Spa treatments and the Michelin-Star Japanese restaurant ”Koki” were unique experiences. My wife and I really enjoyed our memorable stay.

If you want to have a proper hot water shower, don’t forget to turn on the water heater.  There is drinking water and a microwave next to the reception. (public space) but 2 bottles of water are provided in each room. Basically there are only 2 rooms on each floor. Front side and back side of the building. Therefore, there is less noise from other guests staying in the next room, which is excellent as you don't need to hear the door banging sound. I stayed in a room at the backside for a night, so the room had no view as I could guess although there was a window. Also I stayed in a room at the front side for 2 nights, which had a city view from the window. Pros and Cons: Room at the backside doesn't have a view but it is bigger and every piece of equipment worked properly. There is a desk and 2 bedside tables but no view at all. It is very typical room in Hanoi. The Room at the frontside has a city view but much smaller,(narrower to be exact)  than the one on the 2 nd floor. Luckily I had a room on the top floor but the showerhead was broken.  There is no bedside lamp although there are 2 bedside tables. I had to stand up when I wanted to turn off the light as the switch is located near the door.  Also I saw many ants, whereas I didn't in another room ( it was a room at the backside on the 2nd floor).  There is no desk in the room on the 7th floor.  The Top floor is the 7th floor. The lift goes to only the 6th floor, you have to step up the stairs to get to the 7th floor. (there are 2 rooms on the 7th floor. The other room on the 7th floor is very far. You won't hear anything from other guests.  The Toilet flush is very weak in the room on the 7th floor. The water was dripping from the AC and it went directly into my charging adaptor. Unfortunately the location of the socket was exactly en route of the dripping water and my adapter was receiving the water. As a result of it, my recharger was broken. (before that, a fuse was blown in the room. I had no idea why there was totally no power in the room when I was back from lunch...) Other than the above, other equipment is the same between the 2 rooms. Mini fridge, safe, electric kettle, huge TV, AC, bathrobe,,, etc but no tissue paper is provided. If I come back to this hotel, I definitely don't want to stay in the room on the top floor.  Very modern small hotel but you have to pay at the reception. I prefer CC payment through AGODA in advance so I don’t need to carry much cash. The location is excellent. There is a Circle K in front of the hotel. If I am not wrong, there is only one TV channel.  You can ask airport transfer for US$15 (from airport) ,  280,000 (to airport) The best room looks like #601, I never want to stay in 701.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The best service at a hotel I've ever received. From the fruit and juice as the welcoming, to the kind greetings each time when walking in and to the takeaway breakfast from my 5am early check out - the staff at Hanoian Lakeside were great! I even struggled to find a money exchanger and the staff personally walked me over there. Hotel room was spotless clean! Location was also fantastic. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back here.

Amazing experience. The service is superb as you would expect from Sofitel Legend. The facilities are good, the place has a true historical vibe without being a museum of antiques. The breakfast is excellent in terms of local food variety. There are several 5 star hotel options in Hanoi, but seems like Sofitel is the best one you can find. Unfortunately we missed the hotel tour, so will need to come back.

The hotel is full of history. We joined the historical tour and know more about the history of hotel. Also we visited the bunker underneath the hotel as well. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. We went to Le Beaulieu and Spiced Vietnam Restaurant and everything were delicious.

It was one of my best stays in these 10years. The property gives us laid-back feeling with lake view from huge windows. People nowadays prefer to build up many stories, but this property has 8 layers. This low layered building makes us feel more comfortable feeling. It reminded us we were nature being. From the first touch was great. The club lounge personnel did hard work to meet our request of the room that I had asked them in a last minute. Ms.Sunny, Ms.Thu welcomed us with big smiles and Ms.Tram Le who is a loyalty manager came out to greet us in very polite way. I was really impressed. She is a very thoughtful person that she gave us 120% comfortable feelings even after checking out. She allowed us staying club lounge and spa area until our departure to the airport. (My flight was mid night)!! Everyone was great and kind in the club lounge. Ms.Sua, Ms.Thoa and Mr. Linh Do. They are really kind well noticed. Food was good but most of them are Korean food. If there were more Vietnamese local food, it would be nicer. Our room was beautiful. We were assigned to a suite room with lake view. It was spacious. Interior was calm and cozy. Amazingly, every single person working this hotel is very professional. I know how hard to hire such high-quality service provider nowadays but all of them are on very high standard. Swimming pool and sauna area was very nice. It took off our tiredness in a day. There was huge jacuzzi, sauna and shower room. The swimming pool was warm heated, and we could swim even at nighttime without freezing. The people working there were also very attentive with warm attitude. There is a very local town just in front of the hotel. You just get into a small street inside. It is so much fun to take time to explore there. You will see the local people life there. There are so many small shops like barber, butcher, Vietnamese noodle house, fruits shop, laundry shop, sinh to stand etc. I would like to be back this hotel again. Everything was really nice. If you are thinking where to stay in Ha Noi, I am sure this hotel is the best choice.

WOW, The best hotel in Hanoi! We had an amazing stay at the beautiful JW Marriott in Hanoi. The service was incredible from start to finish! Having stayed in many top hotels in Vietnam, the JW Marriott is right up there. Khuong at the door provided us with the best service anyone could wish for; thank you for going out of your way to help us with every need. We would also like to mention Thu & Viet in the Cool cats Jazz bar, who were amazing every night of our stay, we loved every minute in the Jazz bar and would love to give a special mention all the staff there if we could! The facilities are exceptional and the food is fantastic. Our evening meals at both the Akira Back restaurant and the French Grill were superb. We were offered wine tasting on arrival and particularly enjoyed the Wagyu Tacos & High Roller Sushi, simply divine! There is also great selection of wines across the hotel. We will definitely return to to this stunning hotel, mainly due to the service provided, the best we have experienced from JW Marriott! Thank you!

Stayed on two short occasions while in the area and gave it an average but I feel it's almost below that. I will start with the positives. The staff are very friendly and helpful and housekeeping was good. The breakfast in the main dining room had quite a good selection and very good service. Unfortunately the rest of the property left me underwhelmed, and especially for the very high rates (well over $250 per night CAD). Location is ok, but not in the 'Old Quarter', which means that many tour shuttles will not do pick ups from there. I could not even get a Grab car at 7 a.m. on regular weekday morning and forced to take a taxi or be late and miss my tour. There are however some good restaurants near the hotel within walking distance. The Club lounge has garnered high reviews here on TA and I am astonished as to why. This actually was one of the benefits that had convinced me to exercise my Marriott BonVoy status and splurge on this property rather than stay at one of the many more reasonably priced and far more central hotels in the area. I am not sure what people's standards are but this lounge was not premium at all. The food was frankly, atrocious. There is a large variety of condiments and toppings for things but the main and side dishes look like they were leftovers from a banquet event, sitting under warming lamps for far too long, dry or oversauced, and not appealing. No vegetables except for a couple of sad looking salad items, very little for vegetarian or non red meat eaters and very little Vietnamese selections, rather sad looking attempts at Western items. Desserts sat in a fridge looking equally sad and drink selection was minimal, with a long wait for a simple highball and the mix added in when it was asked for on the side. The staff was pleasant enough so I didn't have the heart to complain at the time. The worst part about it is that it is overrun with loud families and children, which does not correspond to an adult executive lounge atmosphere in the evening during a cocktail hour. On the two occasions I went in I did not enjoy my time there and stayed only long enough to finish a drink and I had to skip dinner entirely the first time as the food was so unappealing. The lounge is also located on a floor with club level rooms and the noise generated from carts wheeling in and out during early morning and late night set up/break downs, as well as the doors slamming from the same is also not conducive to an elite member experience. The other issue I had was with the bedding. The feather pillows become literally flat as pancakes when you press down and must be ten years old. I had to request firm pillows to be sent up. I also had to request a top sheet to place under the duvet as the duvet cover is made of a cheap polyester fake satin type material which is not breathable and causes excessive sweating. I am not sure why they are not using better quality fabric to begin with but top sheets are generally standard also. Curiously

Stayed here for two nights as a Bonvoy Titanium. The Sheraton accommodated us in a standard river view room on the first night, and upgraded us to an Ambassador Suite for the second night. Notwithstanding the suite upgrade, we elected to check out early (original reservation was for three nights) given that the rooms were very old with thin walls and did not provide for a good night's sleep. We found the Sheraton to be poor value for money, with a price point that was not commensurate with its hard product. For example, the beds in both the standard room and premium suites were hard. However, the showers were newly refurbished and had good water pressure. The furniture was old and the entire property had a classic look and feel with dark lights in both rooms and public areas. Even the Ambassador suite we moved into was quite run down, albeit spacious. There was a pesky feature where the air conditioning units activated at different times, creating air vacuums that resulted in interior doors knocking against their frames which disrupted sleep. The walls were also paper thin and we could hear an argument from a guest next door. Based on hard product alone, I would give the Sheraton 2*. The last time I stayed in a Sheraton that was so old and run down was the Sheraton Libertador in Buenos Aires which lost its flag soon after. But the property made up for the weak hard product somewhat with good service. This was true especially at the Club Lounge which also had a good F&B spread. Tuan at the front desk worked hard to make a suite available for our stay and was successful in moving us on the second night. He hoisted in my observation that colleagues told me that the Sheraton Hanoi was old but typically made up for it by having spacious suites for Titanium/Amb upgrades. While we did not get a suite for the first night, we were pleased to be able to see what the Sheraton had to offer on the suite front for the second night. On balance, we wouldn't return to a standard room at the Sheraton for the typical asking price of around USD200+. We moved to the Pan Pacific for our last night which we found to be more conveniently located and also significantly better value for money, even though I'm a GHA mid-tier member rather than top-tier. I understand the Sheraton Hanoi is planning a multi-year upgrade to both exterior and interior facilities. This cannot happen soon enough. I look forward to returning when the refurbishments are complete.

The service and hotel was wonderful. The hotel staff went out of the way to ensure we got the best service, especially the guy name Huyen at the concierge. It was a Luxury hotel stay with Somerset Grand Hanoi. We reached the hotel early morning 6:30am via Sapaly train down Sapa Hotel. we were warmly greeted by the hotel manager to inform us we can rest our foots n have complimentary coffee ☕️ and biscuits 🍪 on its 4th floor “Residences Lounge “ As our requested Executive room was not ready by 12:00noon ( as we requested earlier check-in), we were utterly surprised knowing we were given 2 bedroom apartment instead of! 😇😃 When we checked out the next morning, the customer officer even send us to its Entrance seeing us board the taxi to airport.😊

Jade Orental was our first stop in Hanoi after an 18 hour trip from the US. We were a group of 17 people. The General Manger Mr. Do and his staff welcomed us very well on arrival with a efficient check in process. The hotel is located in a great area (we were walking around after midnight and felt safe). Breakfast spread was excellent and food tasty with lots of variety, customer service was very good, rooms were well appointed and bed very comfortable. Felt at home and very welcomed. Would definitely go back there again. Thanks to everyone for making our stay there great.

Impressive entrance with a short walk to anything you might want/need in Hanoi. Check-in was a breeze when we arrived mid-afternoon. The lobby on Level 1 and restaurant on level 2 are opulent and well-served with competent and English fluent staff. The room I had was well presented, very clean and well-serviced. Great pillows!! Small, but functional bathroom with a great two-way shower. Money can be exchanged at reception at around market rate. The breakfast on level 2 has something for everyone. Vietnamese, western and excellent pastries. Fresh fruit and a great noodle bar. The wait staff and chefs are expert and can create pretty much anything on request. The room service menu is spartan but reasonably priced and well presented and delivered hot. Pasta, pizza, burgers and (of course) Pho. For those not familiar with Vietnamese coffee, fasten your seatbelt before trying. This beverage will wake the deepest sleeper in seconds. Concierge services are effective and non-intrusive. There is a mini-supermarket about 100 metres from the front door where you can find that razor you forgot amongst other necessities. This hotel is brilliantly located near the lake, which is a great location for a stroll. Within a five minute walk you can find pretty much anything that you can think of. There is a roof top bar and pool on level 10 and, to be honest, this was a little disappointing. The pool works, but the surrounds are a little tired and could do with an upgrade. Not a showstopper by any means. The lifts work, the electricity is 100% available and the wifi is fast and consistent. The laundry service is fast and reasonably priced. If you want to outsource laundry, there are several services available close by for USD$1.50 per kilo. My team of 3 stayed here for 12 days and very much enjoyed the facilities and hospitality. I would stay here again any day of the week!!

This is a hidden gem in the midst of the old quarter. A part of Hanoi where a myriad of shops selling a huge range of goods exists next to Hanoi's seemingly endless coffee shops. In very European architecture These small shops are bustling throughout the day. The hotel is nestled comfortably up a side street accessible via both stress, though only one is used by taxis. The staff are extremely friendly and make it their business to ensure the traveller is well looked after. Rooms are clean and come with a stocked fridge with Beer and soft drinks. The air conditioning is superb and in near 40C heat it is so welcoming. The balcony is large. Almost a second room in itself. Sit on the balcony in the evening during a thunder storm and watch the light show in the night sky...tremendous. With the balcony walls being solid, privacy is guaranteed as is safety...not going to fall off this. Breakfast is a pleasant mix of western and Asian. Cold cuts or cooked food. Eggs done by the chef to order. The hotel has a small travel desk so do ask about places to visit. Staff are very knowledgeable. Top tip: get the GRAB or BE app to book your taxis and avoid cab hailing....the risk of being scammed is very high. One final thought...not far is Railway Street. I won't spoli it....go and find out what happens. Get a daily timetable of trains. It is an experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for a bussines trip but still, I got the chance to really enjoy my stay. The hotel is like brand new and is located at a perfect spot where I could explore all of the Old Quarter. And the staffs were amazing too, especially Stella. She helped us a lot, took lots of her time try to answered all of my silly questions, and made my boring breakfast more enjoyable. Just can't thank her enough. Overall, this hotel is where you should stay if you want to feel what it's like being in the heart of the Old Quarter. I will comeback soon.

The hotel is good in general, but not the great. Here are the down-sides: Facility seems to show aging signs. For instance, toilet has water leak, sink is old. Service needs improvement. When I requested more bottle water, I was denied. Housing Keeping Dept told me that they have a limit of 4 bottles/day. I travel extensively. I have never seen a 5-star hotel refusing to offer additional bottle water. Giving the unusually warm and humid weather, it’s sad to be refused to get water guests really need.

Our group of 6 stayed 3 nights at peridot. We had some hiccups which was of no fault by the hotel..( like losing one luggage from our group from our cruise, and tour operator etc). The hotel went above and beyond to help us resolve our problems. Special thanks to Plum, who was so nice and friendly and was so professional and efficient to resolve issues for us. Hotel has plenty of restaurants and street food everywhere and is very near the lake. Beautiful pool and sky bar too.Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the bellboys to the front desk staff. They even gifted my mom who has a bad knee a herbal compress from the spa. Small details and kind gestures made our stay here so special. 5 stars to the peridot team!

Two of the front desk staff were absolutely charming and spoke very good English. We don’t know the woman’s name but the man was Eric and if I had anything to do with it he would be the manager! All the staff were very helpful in every way. The room was perfectly adequate with a great shower. We didn’t find it to be noisy although in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Breakfast was not like in the pictures but good nonetheless. Buffet and a la carte. Nice staff and never too crowded to have a table. Great location. A few blocks away was our favourite outdoor bbq and also a wonderful Indian restaurant. We tend to eat local with the one exception of a good Indian meal on occasion because it’s unavailable at home. We really liked this hotel and its sister hotel a few blocks away called The Little Diamond.

Room was very clean and nice. The whole check in and check out process was very smooth as well. The staff were super friendly and helpful, often taking initiative to offer ways to help make our stay more pleasant. Special mention to the front desk staff, Molly, Daisy and Tiffany. They were always super friendly and approachable, advising us on good food and stores nearby and how to get there as well helping with booking of short rickshaw tours and even ordering of supper!

We had a very enjoyable stay at La Sinfonia del Rey. The location was superb next to the Hoan Kiem lake right in the middle of the Old Quarter. All of the staff were extremely friendly and special mention to Rose who greeted us and remembered our names throughout our stay, and to give us recommendations on where to eat while we were in Hanoi. We also wanted to thank the manager who checked us in and had more food recommendations and for the lady who checked us out that gave our son a departing gift. Thank you for having us!
