We made an unplanned trip to Branson, celebrating our anniversary. It was one of those ‘let’s do this’ moments - we decided we wanted to see the Presley’s Country Jubilee. We love their show - saw it on our 1st anniversary & many times since, but haven’t been in a few years & just decided to celebrate our # 55 at the Presley’s! We arrived in Branson about 5:30pm & didn’t think we would have any trouble finding a room. But most of the hotels we checked were already filling up. One of the ladies told us that Holiday Inn Express had a couple more rooms available so we went there. We were able to get a room but the price!! We took it & got to our room. Very nice & clean; bed & pillows were really comfortable; the bathroom & vanity area was also clean. But when we got ready to shower, the rubber bath mat was so stained & nasty!! It needed thrown away & replaced or plenty of Clorox applied! Everything else about the room was great! Eating breakfast the next morning was a real challenge. The breakfast area & pool were on the 2nd floor so the 2 available elevators stayed full with people checking out, loaded down with luggage; & people trying to go to the breakfast area or carry breakfast back to their rooms. The breakfast area was extremely crowded - felt like we were almost stacked on top of one another. I tried to eat cereal because the lines to the one waffle maker was LONG & the line to the biscuits & omelets the same. They had completely run out of milk so dry cereal was my breakfast! There were a number of positives about this hotel - price, bath mat, & breakfast experience turned out to be negatives!

Breakfast was very good. Room on 2nd floor did get a little crowded if there at 8:00. Pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, sliced bread for toast, bagel, English muffin, cheese omelets, western omelets, sausage links, bacon (one day of the week) ham slices, turkey patty, oatmeal (Never grits I'm sorry to say), boiled eggs, cereals, white & Chocolate milk, cinnamon rolls, small muffins, bananas, apples, oranges, hot chocolate, coffee and juice. What more do you need? (grit packets, haha) Bed & pillows were very comfortable. Enjoyed having a fridge & microwave. Room was clean. but there was some musky, damp, moldly smell in the bathroom. I did leave a note the first day, and actually talked to a cleaning lady about it another day. We left the vent running all the time. I bought some lilac spray from Bath & Body Works, that helped camoflauge it some.
