I think this is the best hotel in Johannesburg. I would say the Saxon far superior than the four seasons west cliff as the service and attention to detail by staff is top of the line? The restaurant is amazing. I would personally like to thank Sabelo Ngubeni for his amazing service during my visit to SA.

The hotel environment is beautiful. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant once before, and I wanted to experience it once. The location of the restaurant is great, the view is expansive, the autumn scenery is beautiful, and the meal is also very good. The room is spacious and comfortable. The room I booked has two balconies with beautiful views on both sides. The attitude of the service staff is very good, and the service is very considerate and meticulous. Very recommended to stay.

The hotel can be said to be the best in the whole of Johannesburg. It is a small hillside in the city. It is a very safe hotel in a place like Johannesburg. It is heavily guarded and densely vegetation. You can see the entire Johannesburg in the restaurant, which is very spectacular . In addition, the hotel has a paid car service. The price is more expensive than a taxi but the service is good. The car is equipped with cologne, charger and Wi-Fi in the car!

YTF Review: Disclaimer: Our reviews are solely based on our experiences, not on other readers' experiences or influenced by other readers or entities. You will rarely read ”like other reviewers…” from our posts since we practice not to read reviews and visit with virgin eyes untainted by what others may have experienced. Overview: Located in the heart of Johannesburg, The African Pride Melrose Arch is a luxury boutique hotel in the vibrant Melrose Arch district. The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. They will provide you with access to the facilities and the locati

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on our way to Victoria Falls. The property is located about 30 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and helpful. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The Check in-out process was quick and easy. The lobby is nicely decorated. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Turn down service was excellent. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and cocktails at the bar by the swimming pool. It is a great place to stay in Johannesburg.

Very disappointed after our stay at The DaVinci Hotel. I was thoroughly looking forward to this stay as I have not stayed in this hotel before and it had been on my list, check in took quite long, which didn't bother me initially but ended up being a compounding factor after everything else, we had booked online and it took close to an hour for us to get checked in and given our room key, we used this time to look around. When we finally got to our room, we quickly left everything and went to the mall then had dinner, we got back relatively late and only upon getting back did we notice the bed was 2 single beds pushed together, however we booked and paid for a delux king room, needless to say I spent the duration of the evening falling through the 2 beds as I was trying to cuddle my lady, so I didn't get much sleep to say the least. When we got up in the morning I quite badly needed a coffee to wake me up after the night I had and Lo and behold, the coffee machine was not working! By this point you can imagine the frustration.. so we got dressed and went down for breakfast, the process of simply getting a coffee took close to 40 minutes, let alone the food arriving! We actually ended up getting up and leaving because we had plans for the day and did not expect to wait over an hour for our breakfast to arrive! The cold food that was available at the buffet was very dry as well but we scoffed it down and went on our way, it was only while we were walking out that the juice we ordered when we arrived was beginning to make its way to our table, so we were given the bottle and we went on our way We mentioned the incorrect room as well as the coffee machine to the lady at the checkout desk, to which I was reassured that next time we stay it will be nice I can very confidently confirm that there will not be a next time from us, as we do expect a certain service when checking into a 5 star hotel and paying the price that comes along with it On a positive note, the concierge was helpful with taking our luggage to the room Such a pity for a lovely perfectly located place to put such little effort into the quality they provide

Lovely room, customer service was top notch, proximity to the Sandton shopping mall and Nelson Mandela Square was a huge plus....I mean just an elevator down and you are in the mall. You could actually bring your shopping cart into the hotel.

On Saturday 16 Dec 2023 my entire family decided to go to The Marriot for breakfast and we planned on using our Prokard to qualify for their dining discount. We have been to the Marriot on numerous occasions over the last 4 years and we had no problems using our Prokard and getting the applicable dining discount. Tembi the restaurant manager stopped us all at the entrance of the restaurant and was adamant that we couldn't use our prokard ....then it was an excuse that there were no tables available when there were plenty available. Her attitude was disgusting and made excuse after excuse......another being that The Marriot is a new hotel and that they were still finding their feet which was not true. My family was so upset with the backwards and forward arguing that we did not enjoy our breakfast which was meant to be a family outing. I also overheard other guests complaining about not being able to use the Prokard ......she also told us that it cannot be used over the holidays.......she made so many contradictory excuses. I had called on the Monday before (11 Dec ) and spoke to Daniel ( the services manager ) and he confirmed that all the benefits for dining is as per all Marriot hotels and that we are welcome to come on the Saturday. I spoke to Daniel on Monday ( 18 Dec) to complain of what we experienced on Saturday and he passed it onto Razeen ( another manager) who didn't have the decency to call me with an apology and confirm what the rules are wrt Prokard benefits. My advice to Prokard members ......keep away from The Marriot as they are not so professional and sophisticated as they profess to be and rather patronize the other Protea hotels. Stayed here for two nights before going on safari. It was a nice room, however, attached to this property is the Executive suites and for the same cost you can get a bigger room and an in room washer and dryer so check availability. We got an amazing welcome by the front desk staff before they even knew that we were platinum elite members. Everyone was really professional and helpful. Let’s talk M Club. Had so much potential but couldn’t get it together. They were never ready to open. The coffee machine would not be ready first thing in the morning, the cream was never filled up, stirrers not available. COME ON! What do most people want at 6:30AM? Coffee! No silver ware or cups on tables on time. There were nice choices for breakfast but food didn’t get put out on time, ever. For those of us who want to get out early to see the city, it was frustrating. The wine in the evening was delicious with lots of options. Also, very substantial food choices in the evening. I would stay here again, for sure, but the property needs to up its game in the lounge and it would be so easy to correct these few things!

Not up to the five-star standard, just about 3.5. Security: There are not many surveillance cameras in this huge hotel; if someone pushes the door in the middle of the night, you can’t find out who it is. Layout: The lobby is dark; Room: Very dim lighting Service attitude: needs to be improved Air conditioner: a bit loud Good points: The spa inside is good and the cleaning is good.

The hotel has shuttle service. There is two kinds of ones. It is to go to a nearby place. It is necessary to enter the system. The system will print out a confirmation form to confirm the time and place the sign. The PPS driver is good. If you can't find it. It takes a little trouble to get to the driver by phone. 5 minutes walk from rosebank mall

The location is in an office park, which is relatively safe. There are 2 floors in the hotel rooms, and there are many rooms on each floor, but there is only one elevator entrance, so it will go a long distance. I happen to live farthest away. Pillows and mattresses are especially liked. The mattresses are moderately soft and hard. The pillows have two soft and hard ones, which is great.

We stayed here for a total of 4 nites, beginning of March, two nites we had booked for some rest before joining a group tour of South Africa and Victoria Falls. Two more nites were included in the tour. We arrived very early on the first day, and our room wasn’t ready (no surprise), so we walked over to the mall via the 6th floor access. (Sandton mall), and had a very nice breakfast/lunch at the cafeteria in the Woolworths. When we returned to the hotel, our room was ready, and a porter brought our bags up right away. The room was of a good size, king size bed was comfortable, bathroom had separate shower and bath, and was nicely decorated. We were totally exhausted after almost 24 hours of travelling, and were fast asleep within minutes. Upon waking, we had a very nice dinner at the hotel’s San restaurant. Breakfast in the morning (included) was amazing- there was a cold buffet spread, and in addition, you could order an a la carte dish from the menu - no going hungry here. Honestly, the only thing i could complain about was how cold the water in the pool was.. Besides the easy access to Santon mall, you can also walk to the Nelson mandela square which flows into the sandton mall, which had quite a selection of restaurants - we ended up eatin 2 very nice dinners there. This would definitely be our hotel of choice, should we ever return to Johannesburg..

Johannesburg is not as safe as Cape Town so you need to put yourself somewhere safe when traveling there. Sandton is a better area and there is a big shopping mall right next to this hotel and you can find everything there including a supermarket, shops, & lot of restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant. They have parking in basement too with metal gate for an additional R55 per night which I found it reasonable. In general, staffs are helpful and nice, great location, great food in the hotel restaurant too. I will definitely stay there again if I would go to Johannesburg again.

The hotel with the best views in all of Johannesburg. Great staff, super helpful and friendly. The rooms are pleasantly large and have a balcony. The roof terrace is a dream. Only to recommend. Better to have it brought by Uber/Taxi. Even the few meters walk from Park Station is not without worries.

Though the hotel was very nice and comfortable, but it is in an extremely noisy part of town, I hardly slept through the car and people’s noise from the street. The parking is also way too tight with a single entry & exit point, I don’t think they must allow big cars to park there, or rather alert the drivers of the sharp and tight corners before they drive in.

Holiday Inn rosebank hotel is located at the center of rosebank and there is a gautrain station just in front of the hotel entrance and also you can access to the rosebank mall directly from the hotel. The entire team on this hotel was super friendly always willing to welcome the guests with pleasure. Breakfast on the 2nd floor served by variety of food selection of which including a cheese plate and an egg station was just enough to boost energy to start up the day. The food served from the hotel restaurant was with a reasonable price so that I could enjoy delicious food without going out for dinner. I would definitely say that it's worth the money to stay in this place. Although I had a concern about the city Johannesburg before the trip but at least in this rosebank area which was totally safe to hang out and walk around the streets with no stress. I had such a great experience in Johannesburg and willing to come back in the future. Thank you once again to leave this beautiful country with good memories. It's was such a pleasure to stay here.

There can be a lot improved. It wasn't all bad but many aspect require work. their customer service failed where there was no communication given that repairs will be done in my room. I returned at 16h00 to find my room looking like a construction site, only to find they were trying to replace the blinds, they could have communicated firstly, then I was subjected to having to change rooms as they had ordered the wrong part. I had plans at 16h30 and had to cancel a pre booked appointment needing to move my belongings between 2 floors, the hassle being I was already unpacked and had arranged my things properly. The 6yh floor I was moved too had a foul unbearable smell which just made one loose their appetite. The cleaning staff decided to clean at around 23h00 while we tried sleeping, which I couldn't understand, they were never around to assist and when requesting an iron, you'd wait over 30 min before it came. I won't even start on the point of them not having the option of smoking rooms for guests.
