Impeccable stay
An unique germ that raised the luxury boutique hotel market in Wuhan to new heights.
Design - the amount of sophisticated details in the hotel are countless. The blue and gold colour combination, exquisite. The flow of black and white in small scale accessories, elegant. Marble, velvet, crystal, it isn’t simple to orchestrate all elements to one repertoire that sing well together.
Rooms - spacious suite, wooden floor and doors, nothing but timeless styles, Nespresso coffee machines, quite common nowadays, but combined with LEGLE porcelain chinaware, and again, in blue white and gold. DeLonghi kettle - matt black, Marshall speaker - matt black, Dyson hairdryer - matt black. Other luxury hotels too offer similar, but it’s how much attention to details were given to the co-ordination of these products. And not to forget the VOSS water in the room, not just 2 bottles, but 6 or more, accompanied by thick ceramic coasters with the interior look of the hotel engraved on them - small touch brings big difference. The room screams class, quality and generosity in the amenities they choose to put on offer, well done.
Service - always remember, employee is an exhibition and extension of the brand. And the service were warm, genuine and non-transactional, which was a key highlight. Nothing was too much of an ask, and they went above and beyond to meet requests.
The small downside was probably the noise from the streets due the sound proofing of heritage buildings. However it was neglect-able given every other wins this hotel has. The management team and the owners of the hotel should read this feedback, you have created something exceptional and executed to excellence, you show be very proud to showcase this to the rest of the world. The Shangri-la’s and Ritz Carlton’s, come learn a thing or 2 from this.
Next challenge? Don’t give up quality over costs in future. We look forward to seeing the above sustained upon our next return to the Banov’s.

The lobby is decorated in a retro style, restrained and cozy, with lounge music playing.
There is no underground parking lot, and it happened to be raining heavily in Wuhan, which was embarrassing.... Plus the flight delay, it was already 23:00 when I arrived at the hotel, which made me feel bad and impatient...
I would like to praise Mr. Guan on duty. Even though my attitude was not very friendly (I will reflect on it), he was always very patient and introduced the room furnishings and items in detail.
When checking in, guests will be asked to choose pillows, including down pillows, latex pillows, etc. I chose a lavender pillow and I really slept well at night😆
There is incense by the bed, and the smell is also selected when checking in. The additional little thought is particularly good.
There are welcome fruits and snacks, coffee machine (4 capsules, more generous than Hyatt), bath products by Galeries Lafayette, and a set of Bulgari next to the bathtub, Roca bathware, Voss mineral water, Dyson hair dryer, free mini bar with drinks and beer, etc.
Four separate bathrooms, slippers are padded with towel texture, there is a devialet Bluetooth speaker at the head of the bed, and earplugs and sleeping eye masks are also provided. I have been a guest of Fairmont and Hyatt for many years. Bagongdi can be called the most comfortable and chill hotel in Wuhan.
Breakfast is a la carte, the environment is comfortable, and the smell of buffet-style oil smoke is avoided, which I personally feel very good. The meals are also well made. For those who love sweets, maple syrup muffins are especially recommended, which are soft and sweet.
Overall, it is a very good experience, completely worth the price, highly recommended, and will come again!

Had a fantastic stay! The hotel is quite new, and I was even upgraded to an executive room upon check-in. It was spacious, bright, and the room design was really innovative, with a separate dressing area. The breakfast quality was excellent, with many freshly prepared items. For Mid-Autumn Festival, turn-down service included a complimentary homemade mooncake from the hotel. The staff were clearly well-trained, polite yet friendly. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Traveling with a friend for the National Day holiday, we blindly booked the Fairmont online. We arrived at midnight, but they quickly arranged our check-in. The welcome fruit, a navel orange, was a bit old but very sweet. They also offered pillow selection and helped deliver our takeout. When checking out, they even arranged a late check-out so we could rest a bit longer.
The location is convenient too. Taxis to attractions are quite close, and shopping malls nearby are also a short taxi ride away.

Everything was so beautiful about our trip, especially the employees and the way they helped with everything! I would fully recommend visiting.
However a few things to note, seems like the outdoor swimming pool is never open or open in specific times.
Also the indoor swimming pool you MUST wear a swimming cap, we just wanted to do some casual swimming but they wouldn’t let us without a cap which is a shame really as this was one of the reasons we visited this specific hotel and we didn’t get to use either swimming pool.
Also there isn’t an actual “bar” but there are comfortable seats where you can order alcohol in the main lobby but not really a bar.
Only one of the restaurants was open in the evening.
Overall would stay again if the amenities are sorted.
Also, don’t copy and paste the local address on the APP as it takes you to the wrong location and had to take another 30 minute taxi!!

I started my trip by booking the wrong hotel - same name but in a different city. The hotel graciously agreed to a full refund even though it was well beyond the refund period. I was grateful for that.
When I arrived, the hotel was centrally located right across from the walking street full of shopping and good food. The staff at the hotel was polite, warm and well trained.
I’d like to make special mention of Mr Peter (子延)from concierge services. Even though he was only a trainee at the hotel, he went above and beyond his duties to help me sort out my issues with my local deliveries.

Entered the hotel to an absolutely wonderful lobby. To the right was a terrific bar that also serves cake and hot beverages. Our room was on the top floor - the executive floor. This gave us access to their lounge which was a great addition. It gave us a place to relax when inside the hotel with some snacks and beverages. I also very much enjoyed the massage chair in my room! Finally, well stocked buffet for breakfast. Options are limited for “western “ foods but plenty of other options. Great stay!!

Good location, good facilities, marvelous design. Staff were friendly and provided excellent services, especially the front desk staff, Sally, who helped me checked in and found me a room that satisfied my demand and exceeded my expectations. She’s very friendly and answered all my questions politely and correctly. She definitely is a staff who helped to project a good impression of the hotel to the guests. Thank you and I’ll be back again.😊

We have arrived the hotel at 17:15 in the afternoon and we were told that 4 of our rooms are not ready. We needed to wait for our rooms in the lobby without any compensation for the delay. Later on, we have received our first room’s room key at about 20 minutes later and the rest of the 3 rooms were ready after 18:35. We are disappointed by the handling of the situation as we are already tired after a long day of travel and there were no actions being taken by the hotel staffs except saying sorry for the delay. The rooms are supposed to be ready at 16:00 according to the hotel information. A simple gesture of an apology would be helpful but unfortunately there were none.
- Grace Chiu
My destination was Optics Valley, which required about an hour’s drive in the rain. The Hubei Provincial Museum is located nearby, making this hotel a convenient choice for visitors planning to tour the museum. The breakfast was excellent, the facilities were well maintained, and the staff were kind and attentive. However, as with many hotels in Wuhan, travelers who do not speak Chinese may encounter some communication difficulties due to the language barrier—a common challenge across most parts of China outside of Shanghai.

Came here on a business trip, the hotel environment is very good, European style. The room is large, soundproofed, and rested well. The room window faces the Yangtze River, basking in the sun, looking at the river view, relaxing and comfortable. In addition, the service of the front desk lady is warm and worth recommending.

I took my children to Wuhan for summer vacation. Initially, I was worried about the old look of the hotel, which opened in 2016. But upon checking in at the InterContinental Wuhan, I realized my concerns were unnecessary. Our one-day stay was truly comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is located on the Yangtze River, and rooms with river views offer stunning views from the window, which are especially captivating at night when illuminated. The rooms are spacious and bright, featuring a blend of modern minimalist decor with Chinese elements. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and you can choose a latex pillow, ensuring a great night's sleep.
The front desk was efficient, and the handsome White staff member was warm and courteous, proactively explaining the amenities. Seeing we were traveling with our 12-year-old, they offered a complimentary breakfast for one of our children. The InterContinental room was spacious, with separate wet and dry areas, and the Byredo toiletries were fragrant. The refrigerator contained four complimentary cans of drinks. Dinner was served in the hotel's Chinese restaurant, offering stunning river views. Watching the sunset was truly relaxing.
Breakfast offered a variety of Chinese and Western dishes, including authentic Wuhan specialties like hot dry noodles and tofu skin. The beef noodles and pancakes are must-try! We drove here from Changsha. At night, we were within walking distance of Jiangtan Park and a 20-yuan taxi ride to Yellow Crane Tower. Other core business districts are also easily accessible. Free parking is available at the entrance, making it convenient and fast. The overall service was meticulous and attentive, with quality evident in every detail. The established five-star InterContinental Hotel will not disappoint.

When you arrive at the concierge they don’t take your bags to your room, they just direct you and you have to find your own room which was a first for me. Secondly, they did not include any welcome message even on their TV to just assure that the room was reserved for me , additionally, they didn’t include any welcome gifts as small as some fruits or a drink, but any drink included was to be charged. These areas need improvement. At breakfast i found it odd that that they mix Pork sausages and chicken sausages in the same serving bowl, which made me not to eat as I don’t eat pork. May these be improved as I am a frequent visitor and would want to consider Intercontinental Hotel again.

The hotel is in a prime location. Jiangtan Park is just across the road from the hotel. You can also enjoy the river view when taking a walk in the morning and evening. It is recommended to walk from the hotel to Jianghan Road for about 30 minutes. One way is to take photos of the night view of the Yangtze River along Jiangtan Park. The other way is the road behind the hotel, with many historical buildings along the way. The waiter on the 23rd floor cleaned the room in a timely manner and the bed was comfortable for sleeping. The hotel's indoor swimming pool is clean and sparsely populated and not open to the public. The breakfast is rich and has a variety of specialties. The Thai food in the revolving restaurant on the 41st floor is delicious.
I visited the Hubei Museum, the Wuchang Uprising Memorial Hall, the Yellow Crane Tower, and the Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street. The food and snacks are affordable. Looking forward to the next in-depth tour.FromSEK 525

The indoor heated pool's water quality was clean, and the fitness facilities were well-equipped. Breakfast offered a rich variety of delicious options. Location: Located in the heart of Wuhan, with abundant shopping opportunities nearby. The central location was a huge plus, especially given the high temperatures, as it minimized the need for long walks.

This is my second visit to Wuhan, and I decided to try a different five-star hotel. This time, I chose the established Shangri-La. My overall impression is that the high price comes with being a five-star hotel, but the five-star experience is solely reflected in the service.
Firstly, I'm not really looking for super new or luxurious facilities; otherwise, reading all those reviews about outdated facilities and furniture would have been enough to 'veto' it. However, there are indeed many areas that could be improved. For example, there are no power outlets on either side of the bed. While the TV not supporting screen mirroring and not being a smart TV is one thing, it's also incredibly unclear with very few channels. These are all manageable, but the most serious issue is the extremely poor soundproofing! In the room, I could clearly hear conversations from the hallway, upstairs, and next door, as well as children running and playing. This level of soundproofing would be disastrous during peak travel seasons like holidays.
As I mentioned earlier, the hotel's biggest highlight is probably its service. There's a staff member in front of the elevators on the ground floor who greets passing guests. When going for breakfast, as soon as you enter, a female staff member asks what you'd like to drink, then prepares it and brings it to your table.
On a side note: the breakfast is quite good. And having stayed at many five-star hotels in China, perhaps apart from Shanghai, this is one of the rare ones that offers plain white rice for breakfast. It's very suitable for those who are accustomed to eating rice (and natto) for breakfast.
In conclusion: if you're looking for quality rest during peak travel seasons and major holidays, this might not be the place for you. However, during the off-season, if you want to experience five-star service, you could consider it. It makes me truly appreciate the common saying online: 'Wuhan – a desert of luxury hotels.'FromSEK 627

This 5-star hotel really lives up to its reputation online. Right next to the check-in counter, they offer two kinds of complimentary hot beverages, which is a nice touch. The rooms are spacious and bright, and everything is spotlessly clean. The service was excellent; they really tried their best to accommodate our requests. Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of options, including local Wuhan specialties like hot dry noodles and Mian Wo, as well as Japanese sushi and Shaanxi Roujiamo, all of which were delicious. They even had both hot and cold low-fat milk. The mattress in the room was incredibly comfortable. However, there are a few minor details that could be improved. For example, the toilet in the bathroom didn't have a bidet or disposable seat covers, and the room also lacked an eco-friendly hotel tote bag.FromSEK 625

Service: Service personnel at reception speaks to too many customers at the same time. Especially those not waiting in line should be made waiting until it is their turn.
After ordering extra 4 x half liter bottles of water we received complaints of needing too much water. Either ask for extra money or not, no one will complain about paying some extra for water. But stop the indecisive complaining towards the customer.
Cleanliness: The carpet in the room had many dirty spots and especially near the entrance door it didn’t look clean. Also in the bathroom the faucet of the bathtub was rather old and moveable where it should not be.

Although the hotel is located near Hankou Railway Station, the distance shown in the map is about ten minutes' walk, which is actually not very accurate, because there is a road under construction nearby. I took a taxi to the hotel after a long detour. 🤣
The hotel facilities are pretty good, but the air conditioning equipment is too noisy, which will affect the quality of sleep at night. It is recommended to repair it.
I stayed for two consecutive days. The second day was just a simple cleaning, and the garbage in the bathroom was not cleaned up. I found that the quilt cover had holes, which was a bit disappointing. After all, it is a four-star hotel.
The hotel staff had a good service attitude, and the corridor of the hotel was quiet at night.SOLD OUT
