"We arrived at the airport in M****ille and took the train to Nimes. Be aware, that there are only few direct connections! better you drive first to Avignon, but that takes over 2 hours in total. At the arrival in the hotel we were informed, that we got an upgrade from executive room to a Maison (suite), which of course was fantastic. 120 square meters with huge terrasse, 2 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a table for 8 persons! Our stay was fabulous anyway. The hotel is superb! very old building with lots of history but newly renovated with top standard. Service at breakfast was perfect. Unfortunately we never explored the hotel bar or the 2 michelin star rated restaurant (top in town!). We can higly recommend traveling to Nimes (the Rome of France!) and of course we can also recommend this hotel. It's literally a few minutes away from nearly everything!"
"Except for a woman at the front desk, the hotel staff was so enthusiastic that the rest of the staff were so enthusiastic. The waiter during the meal even asked me to go upstairs to take a few Euro tips and then send him down. The foie gras in the hotel is the most authentic foie gras I have ever eaten in my life. It melts in the mouth and the taste is just right. I have already arrived in other small towns. I feel that I am rich in time. I took the train back to this hotel on a rainy day. Eat his foie gras again, it's super recommended There are so many mirrors in the room that you can see everywhere, which is also a major feature. Although there are many, it does not make people feel uncomfortable."
"From the central location to the magnificent architecture to the great amenities to the best employees anywhere, this property has it all! The check-in experience was off the charts. the receptionist, Jemina couldn't do enough....efficiently checked in, she escorted us around the hotel explaining all of its amenities in as graceful manner as possible. they say first impressions are indelible, and Jemina took advantage of that opportunity to ensure a great start of what was a fabulous 3 night stay. "This is a decently priced hotel and is well located to explore this great city but even so, there were quite a few reasons not to be able to recommend it. The road it is in is quite shabby, with an all night burger bar opposite. Consequently if you face this road, you get traffic (scooters and boy racers) and noise all night. To be fair the windows are well glazed but as the a/c didn't work well, it wasn't great having to choose between noise or air. The building is very attractive inside and the bedrooms well appointed (though could have done without the floor to ceiling mirror in front of the toilet and in this day and age, a hand held shower over the bath is ridiculous!). However the staircase is tricky - especially when the lift was out of order for most of my visit. It didn't occur to anyone to put notices up though! I booked 6 months ahead and asked for a quiet room, but still got put next to the lift. (There were also towels just outside my room soaking up a bad leak from the ceiling). The staff are friendly but deserve better from Best Western."
"Positives - Located in the centre of the historic town of Nîmes, Hôtel Marquis de la Baume is a 17th-century town house. It’s gorgeous!!! The staff are amazing (helped me so much) and the breakfast included a lot of options! Comfy too and quiet location although I did walk up early to noises on the street but that’s City living! Negative - it’s temperature controlled so if you feel the cold ask for another douvet! Although I felt warm in the morning. It’s about 15 minutes walk from the train station so if you have bags it’s a longer walk. The street is quiet so for solo travelers it’s a little hidden away but I felt safe! No kettle in room but they have coffee machine. "
"The breakfast is rich, the service is warm, and the feeling of a medieval castle is very suitable for vacations, taking pictures, the waiters are warm and thoughtful, and we will definitely come again next time! Wonderful stay experience!"

"Honestly we chose this hotel as we've never been disappointed in any of the BW in the US. It seems the standard in France is in fact far different... Having toured the south of France, we reached Nimes with rather heavy luggage. Unfortunately, there is no luggage trolley to transport your luggage on the gravel area leading to the entrance, neither is there an elevator (which is undertandable due to the age of the manor) though no help was available on arrival. We were assigned room 16 ( remember and make sure to avoid it.... ). This room is the closest to the highway and the round about nearing the hotel. Needless to say, it is noisy, very noisy... To top this off, the bathroom faucet was leaking and in the morning, the toilet got clogged... Breakfast was ok. I have to mention that we were not even offered a word of apology. Service " a la francaise" ....."
"Hotel l’orangerie is easily accessed from the autoroute but not so close to city center when on foot. It offers good private parking and nice rooms but no elevator. The approach through a very pretty courtyard with an illuminated pool could be improved by adding a paved walkway from the parking to the current gravel access. The personnel was very friendly and helpful, including carrying a large suitcase to the second floor for a guest (there is no elevator)."
"The room type that does not include the early morning, plus the morning fee, is much cheaper than the room type that includes the early morning. The hotel is not in the city center, but has its own parking lot, which is more convenient overall"

"Due to closure of other hotels during the second COVID-19 confinement, this apartment hotel with a spacious room and kitchenette saved my business trip. With no restaurants open to be able to cook a meal yourself is essential. Also, I had enough space to spread my yoga mat on the floor for some indoor workout. The extremely friendly hotel staff served me every morning a little breakfast and also accepted any change of booking. As nobody was supposed anymore to be on business trips, there was no problem in finding a parking outside with no fees to pay during the night. The room is however only cleaned once a week, so if you want it more clean and your bed made, you need to do it yourself. Comparing the more expensive Novotel on the other side of the street, this apartment was pure luxury for me."
"Unfortunately, it was a bit late because the hotel room was too big. The bathroom had a wet and dry bath. There was an electric towel rack. There was a mini kitchen at the door. The cooker pans were all very good value. The door was a large central square. The arena is very close, it is recommended to play the most complete one preserved in the world. Although the Roman arena is spectacular, its integrity is much worse. The hotel does not have a parking lot, and it is parked in the center square of the entrance. After the hotel discount, we will go to noon overnight Only paid 4 euros."
"we have stayed before in this hotel so we knew it and we booked it again. very well situated, rooms are nice and spacious, personnel is professional. price was decent given the circumstances. from some of the rooms one can see the Arenas."

Just yesterday Sept 17th took a trip from Avignon where my partner and I are renting an apartment, to visit the city of Nimes. What a surprise, we really loved this ancient town. Firstly the train took us right to the bottom of the main St itself with the statue of Charles De Gaul to greet us. We loved how clean it is, unlike Avignon. Loved the downtown streets and its shops and if course the amazing ancient building right there in front of us as we had wine and lunch just beside the Amphitheatre. There is really not a lot you cannot see in Avignon in two days, so yes we have taken opportunity to to visit a number of towns, especially the Market Towns, all within a half hour train ride from our base. We were also impressed with the presence of the local police force which is near non existence in Avignon and the friendlines of the people waiting staff and just customers the local people and tourists in general. So yes fellow readers go there, worth the short trip from Avignon

I was really amezed when I saw the night wait comming out of the kitchen and first put his mask, when he arrived at the desk. You have to know, the night wait was preparing the breakfast. People still doesn't understand it. If there is one place, you have to wear it, is it in the kitchen. You take a lot of measure against the virus (packing individual portions with cheese, meat), so you pack the virus in the teller! Put please a bell at the desk, for the case when nobody is present. It took me 10 minutes before I saw somebody. Checking out took me another 10 minutes. Again, people with mask & without mask. Stop that hypocrisy. Or all of you do it, or just leave it. The bath plug was loosing. No internet after 10 o'clock, even the next morning.

As you arrive you discover a hotel under wraps : the whole facade is held together with some sort of string netting. Not very reassuring when you look out of your room window though. There is always only one person at the reception which means you always have to wait till the clients before you have all been checked in/out before you can gain anyone's attention. One of the receptionist, a bald man, always had a harsh look – is it too much to ask for a smile from time to time ? The room is pretty dire : carpet stains, unpleasant smells, no water pressure in the shower, and a very average daily cleaning service e.g. grease stains still visible on the desks, ... Over a five night stay I was giving only two small bottles of water : one at the beginning of the stay and one for my final evening – I’m not sure what happened in between. As a platinum customer I usually get a special welcome pack or at the very least a welcom drink; here ? Nothing at all ! Makes you feel really special ! This is nowhere near the expected quality of a four star hotel : price-wise and quality-wise

Price-quality a good hotel. It's ideal to visit the Carmarques, Nimes, Pont du Gard and to take a swimm in the sea. The rooms are clean and with air conditioning. We had room 214, for 4 persons. room is above the other, that room didn't had air-conditioning and with temperatures of 32°C it gets too warm to sleep. The room below was perfectly air conditioned at 22°. Breakfast is fine and diner...we had some very nice dishes but also some that were not so tasty. Bottle of wine between 22€ and 35€. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool is mostly in the shadow and not heated.

Set on a large site facing a pedestrianised area with a buzzing bar and restaurant on the ground floor the hotel has been refurbished since our last stay and in our opinion, not for the better. Reception and hallways are painted dark purple and burgundy displaying large interesting art work. The rooms have been “blinged’ up but attention to the smaller detail has been missed. There was a state of the art coffee maker, but it only made espresso, - nothing on offer for those who enjoy milk in their coffee or even a tea ! – which wouldn’t have fitted in the thimble sized cups anyway. No complimentary water and no ‘fridge in. the room.. The bathroom had been by-passed by any sort of upgrading. It was tired and not clean looking. Old fashioned pipe work was dusty and the floor and taps were dirty. Now coming under the category of Boutique Hotel it’s a shame the ‘modernising’ of this hotel doesn’t hit the mark. Also, you might need technical wizardry to access the wi-fi connection. However the staff are great and worked hard to make our stay good.

Upon check in the man in reception was friendly. The shower was good, that’s about where the positives end. The hotel was difficult to find (insufficient signage). located in an industrial estate in between loads of other cheap hotels We paid extra for the Cabrio room (one with bathroom). Everything about the room is tiny, made for the seven dwarfs maybe. The Double bed (the smallest double you will ever see) squashed into a tiny room, with tiny windows and a tiny bathroom. The mattress was VERY uncomfortable and the only way to fit two normal size grown adults on it is to sleep in top of each other. The bathroom was tiny too with a sink so small every time you turn the tap on the water goes everywhere onto the floor. There is no room to put any suitcases except a tiny space next to the bed so if you need to unpack you need to put the suitcase on the bed as no other room to do so. Towels cost an EXTRA 3 Euro for a towel made out of Microfibre ( Essentially a large Glasscloth-No Joke) For the price it’s not worth it at all. originally a room was advertised at £45 Euro. Then to add a bathroom 5 Euro, 2x Towels 6 Euro , then taxes and city surcharges for which the rates are not made clear at the time of booking on the Accor ALL App so in the end we paid £58 Euro in total for a nights stay hardly cheap to stay in what essentially a furnished prion cell. The Ibis across the road only charges 65 Euro and this is where we shall stay if we visit the city again.

Hotel very very medium. Old room, inexisting isolation.. The shower was closed, it was the bathroom/WC was not closed at all. Degood door. We had to make our needs the door open!! Very unacceptable!! I told the hotel manager on the first day, I was told that someone was going to intervene quickly.. I'm still waiting.. When I arrived I was told that we won't have the right to household in the room during our stay?? It's the first time I see this and it wasn't indicated on my reservation. We have the right to a handdock per person so let's say you don't have to wash yourself too often. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable. The hotel is located in a very small area, but not too far from the city centre. However, breakfast was varied and good. I really don't advise this hotel that would need great work. It is better to rent a airbnb or pay a little more expensive for a better quality room.
