Les Maison de Lea is perfectly situated right in the centre of Honfleur next to Sainte Catherine's Church which is beautiful. From the very moment we arrived we felt welcomed at the hotel, honestly one of the warmest welcomes we have had in many years of staying in France. The very kind young lady who greeted us went out of her way to accommodate us. We had paid for parking which is a short distance from the hotel she explained how to access and took all our baggage to our room while we parked so we did not have to struggle back with it. The room itself (Chimene) was very spacious, quirky, charming and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well without any disruptions or noise. Breakfast was a fantastic spread with every option you could desire, the usual French selections but other lovely touches like smoked salmon and freshly squeezed orange juice. We could not experience the restaurant (which is Michelin listed) because it was closed on the nights that we stayed but there are plenty of excellent restaurants within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. In fact, the hotel booked all the restaurants we had selected in advance of our visit for us because Honfleur can be very busy and booking is advisable. I am surprised to see negative comments from others about staff as I can honestly say that every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and respectful. We loved our stay, cannot wait to return and are recommending Maison De Lea to all our friends. I am only sorry that I did not get the name of the receptionist who booked us in on the afternoon Sunday 23rd October as throughout our stay she was wonderful and a real credit to the hotel. The hotel and staff are fantastic and you could not ask for a better position to stay in Honfleur. We will be back for sure!

Charm, charm and more charm! My husband and I had a charming stay in Honfleur, Normandy at the Les Maisons de Lea. The hotel is perfectly situated in a historic town square next to the only wooden church in France. The architecture in the winding streets exudes charm. The hotel fits ideally into all this charm, with is architecture, interiors and hospitable staff. Our room was very comfortable and clean and, of course, charming. We loved the suite with a sitting room in which to relax. The showers were great. The art on the walls added to the fun of weaving up staircases and colorful hallways to reach our room. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful. We had a delicious meal in the hotel the night we arrived and there are fabulous restaurants nearby (I had two of the best scallop dishes I've ever had in my life in Honfleur). The four museums are fun to visit, especially the art museum with Eugene Bodin's art and other impressionists. I didn't have time to go to the spa because I was having too much fun walking and exploring the seaside boardwalk, the Garden of Personalities, and the Grace Chapel on the hill above. It was a perfect location for someone who loves to walk. On Saturday mornings the local market is right out of the hotel's doorstep. The wharf and waterside restaurants are just a short walk. Don't forget to look for the two little cat sculptures on the roof.
