We've been to many Spicers locations and the Balfour comes close to being our favourite (Spicers Peak may still pip this one....just!). We spent 3 nights at Spicers Balfour and can't recommend a stay here highly enough. We were met with an upgrade to the Balfour Suite at check in which was superb in every way, comfortable, spacious and so so quiet. Our breakfast was included in our package and we could not fault the range of choices, my favourite being the crab scrambled eggs. On one night, we invited a few local friends to join us for pre dinner cocktails and drinks on the rooftop where we could enjoy the views. Then we all dined on the fabulous 'Taste It All' menu with paired wines, which we didn't want to end. I was a bit worried that an inner city location may not have the true Spicers feel that are a part of this brand, but there was no need to worry at all. It was still quiet and felt decadent and the location actually turned out to be one of the best parts about it. We walked everywhere...Howard Smith Wharves, South Bank (and took the ferry back), New Farm markets and even through Fortitude Valley to the Tivoli to watch a show. There were so many nearby restaurants and bars to choose from, IF you are staying for a few nights. But it is great to know that if you are there for one night only, Spicers Balfour has you covered with an amazing restaurant and bar and truly beautiful accommodation. A one stop shop, so to speak. Lastly, but certainly not least, the true highlight of our stay was the staff!!! Every single staff member was happy to see you, would do anything for you and went out of their way to ensure you felt like one of the family. Best staff ever! Do yourself a favour and go experience Spicer Balfour!

Pleasant stay in spacious king suite near restaurant. Welcoming, super friendly staff, appreciated the complimentary macarons and specialty teas that are in the room. Room had a bath and large bathroom. The package included dinner, and breakfast, both outstanding, such great ambiance sitting in a Queenslander verandah, overlooking garden ( even on a rainy winters night) and fairy lights. I know they are very pet friendly as well. Not bad for Fortitude Valley, close to Howard Smith wharf. They have a nice cosy bar, for pre-drinks, overlooking part of the Story Bridge and Brisbane city. Food, Asian themed and delicious both for dinner and breakfast. Main courses, steamed fish and beef cheek with crunchy sweet topping so appetising. Fried rice with duck and Asian inspired savoury mince our breakfast favourites. Coffee excellent.we always like staying here, a home away from home’ atmosphere. Outside Parking can be tight, however we have always found a park.
