Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. Only after several guests began to openly complain about the wait did a 3rd employee appear, but she gave ZER

The location is very good, very clean, the service is also very good, the breakfast is very rich, and the restaurant service is first-class. It's a pity that there is no bathtub in the room, which is still a little bit behind the five-star hotel.

This hotel is super nice and a very chic place to stay. Fun to have a drink in the lobby and to have breakfast inside the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious they have like three separate rooms and they have a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. Staff was flawless hotel was very upscale. The only problem I have with this hotel is that the pool is very very small and I like to luxury ate and of huge swimming pool when I am on vacation and the pool here very small maybe only suitable for children or for someone who doesn't like to swim laps. I never took a dip in the pool and I changed hotels because I wanted a spa / swimming pool hot tub amenity for my vacation. If you were not into pools then this is the perfect place to stay. I got this room for $100 a night and that is truly a steal.
- Guest User
First of all, the hotel is okay, but it is very small. Looking at the photo of the doorway, it looks like a square. As a result, a small road comes in, and there is a small round entrance. There is nothing near the hotel. The rooms are quite big, but they are very bad to see, they are all iron stairs, and the vision is not good. There is a sauna, but the facilities are more general. The hotel's restaurant heard that it was always good, ate, the waiter was very bad, and his eyes were impatient. The dessert was delicious. I ate the dessert for two days. The dishes were average. Nothing creative.

I stopped for a night in Bucharest while returning from the seaside and decided to stay again at the New Era Hotel. Arrived late on Wednesday evening, left my stuff in the room and went out, returned at 3 am [no taxi, no metro needed, all sorts of bars and pubs walking distance]. Slept like a baby [had a room not facing the street]. I really liked the furniture and decorations in the room [colors of walls/ pictures, etc], a lot of attention to detail was given and it just made me feel very relaxed. [see also some pictures] After a very nice breakfast I went for a shopping tour before my flight, could leave the luggage at the hotel. I totally recommend Carturesti Carusel, super close to the hotel, spent there like 2 hours, almost missed my flight.

The hotel is at a very good location in old town. Just walking distance up to about 30 minutes in all directions are all the beautiful historic buildings you need to see. Yes it is going to be loud because it’s on the street with pubs and clubs but I didn’t mind the noise so much. Staff were very kind and helpful. Even helped me book a car for a discounted rate compared to what I would pay hailing a cab myself. The hotel is right next to Old City restaurant and the food is nice there. Keep in mind this is on a pedestrian street so cars can’t drop you to the hotel door. So if you have luggage just remember it’s about a five minutes walk from the Main Street where you get dropped off.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here recently for a quick getaway and were not disappointed in the least. From the moment the online reservation was made, the staff communuicated via email asking about airport trasnfers and tours as well as any other requests that we may have. Andrea, Alex and Christian all went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. From offering suggestions for things to do, restaurants to eat at or just basic conversation about the area, all of them were extremely helpful and never seemed too busy to chat. We also enjoyed seeing the resident cat, Tom, hanging about in the lobby. We had the Nautica room and found it to be both comfortable and spacious. The bed provided a good night's sleep and the room darkening shades almost worked too well. Other reviews have commented on noise from outside being too loud but we did not really have any issues. We did hear some noise from the restaurant downstairs but most of it was over by 10pm and we never did hear any nightclub noises, however we were not there over a weekend. My only criticism of the room (and this is a personal issue) was that the theme of the room allowed for a window to be placed between the bedroom area and the bathroom such that someone using the toilet could be seen by anyone in the room from certain areas. It may be fine for a couple but as we were a mother-daughter, it was a bit awkward although we did find a solution and managed. Other rooms may not have this configuration. Breakfast was simple but good. Most days had the pretty much the same offerings but there were a few items changed each day so there was some variety. They arranged a private tour for us to visit Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and Brasov with a quick stop at Cantacuzino Castle where the Netflix series Wednesday was filmed. The locations themselves were nice to visit, but what made the tour the most fun for us was our tour guide, Serban. He was extremely energetic and well versed in the history of Romania. We could have booked a group tour, but Serban made the private so fun that it was well worth the extra expense. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking to most of the touristy things to do and some excellent restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Bucharest.

LOVED this hotel. Great communication from booking through departure. Rooms were well appointed, comfortable, modern, and very clean. Staff was professional, and very helpful in terms of sightseeing, and eating and drinking tips. The hotel is in a PERFECT location in the middle of everything. It is in the middle of old town, near the Monastery, but Palace of Parliament is a quick and pleasant walk away, as is University Square and Revolution Square. Be aware that there is no elevator (I don't think?), but staff did help with luggage so it was absolutely no problem for us. Also be aware that the hotel is in a pedestrian only area, so if you are getting a car transfer to/from the hotel, you will need to plan accordingly. That said, staff went out of their way to coordinate with us when we were arriving (they actually provided the transfer from the airport at a very reasonable rate) and coordinate with our transfer service on the way out (and again helped with getting luggage to the pick up point which was very close anyway) so the process was seamless and was literally no inconvenience to us at all. I would definitely stay in this lovely property again, and hope to soon. I loved the city and will be back!

Just around the corner from the hustle and bustle busy streets in central Bucharest you will find La Boheme located in a leafy courtyard. A beautiful building with quiet rooms, tastefully decorated, luxurious beds and a fabulous shower. Everything was immaculately clean. Lovely food and wine as well. Reception staff were super helpful and friendly too,, Thank you La Boheme for looking after us so well.

Amazing as usual. They were doing some renovations but that didn't interfere with the stay. The vars and restaurants that were on the beach are also under renovation. It was also not over crowded as I expected considering its summer vacation. Only wish they had a spa, because I had to venture out to find one and it was not a good experience.

I have been living in Harman Hotel for 22 days . The service is very good , convenient location . I just fell in love with the bakery there, bread is really fresh and delicious. I would like to say special thank you for Guest Service officer Mr Chen who can speak Russian for his attentive service , Office Manager gentleman who wear white uniform at the reception , unfortunately , I forgot his name for helping me to change my room , I appreciate. Further more thank you to Guest Service Manager who helped me to handle my dress issue in the shop, so kind of you. Ms 西西 who works at night and helped me to upgrade my room upon my arrival. It’s a lovely place. All the other comments I agree with. They should repair walkway around pool ( very minor issue but not a good first impression as I first accessed the hotel from the beach). It’s a beautiful hotel. Room comfy/ luxurious as well as outdoor sofa on balcony VERY comfy for relaxing. A complaint: cutting the lawn almost all day on the Sunday from breakfast time all the way into the afternoon. Can you maybe reserve this not for the weekend/ Sunday? Ironically weekend guests spend more to get to Sanya and stay here than a weekday guest. There was also a wedding on the Saturday afternoon and evening ( so noisy on both days). But despite this, incredibly charming place. If the rate was more affordable I would have stayed Friday and Saturday night but only stayed one night due to price for a solo traveller ( hotel is empty)… Thank you for my stay.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There were a lot of options for room service. The pool was great! Unfortunately there were some negatives. My room was close to an AC outlet so it could be noisy when you sit on the balcony. The noise insulation was not great: there were children running around on my corridor so it was difficult to sleep. I could hear every door slam on my floor. It is worth noting that the hotel does not have a beach so the views aree awesome but I couldn't sit on and swim at the beach. Definitely a good hotel for families. Maybe not so much if you want to do things within walking distance from the hotel.

From the moment we arrived at 01.30am, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Thomas, the night concierge, went beyond the call of duty in ensuring our needs were catered for, so 5 stars for him! The hotel is the last hotel in the row, so a little quieter on the beach at peak season, which we were grateful for, and we were so happy to be right on the beautiful, clean beach. The hotel also has large, attractively designed swimming pools, which were well maintained. We were a bit disappointed by the quality of food at the barbecue buffet, which was not good - however, it was just a short taxi ride to some really good Chinese restaurants. There is also a beach road next to the hotel selling delicious street food. All in all, highly recommended- we will definitely return!!

This hotel is right across from Sanya Bay beach, so this is really convenient for beach days. The hotel is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The room was a good size and clean too. The buffet breakfast offers a mix of Chinese and western foods. At the top of the hotel there’s a small patio/balcony section where you can see Sanya bay. Good for photos! I would stay here again as I really enjoyed my stay. I think this hotel offers a good balance between affordability and quality.

Howard Johnson location is great, the environment is good but the hotel is old and need to be renovated. We enjoyed the inner surrounding of the hotel in the afternoons when there were less people around. Breakfast was not that great compared to the other hotels during our stay at Sanya. Also only one pool was opened and the kids pool was open during in the late morning and afternoon. The hotel is also not far from Sanya Bay, it takes around 5mins to get there.

Great hotel for families with children. They have many activities for the kids on a daily basis. The pool is huge and there are floats that you can rent to use right next to the pool. The breakfast room is quite huge with a variety of western and Chinese food (mostly Chinese) but you can always find something to eat. The location is great. Many restaurants and stores are just within walking distance of the hotel, approximately 2 minutes. The beach is also close and very clean. My family and I will definitely return to this hotel.

The lobby is beautiful and the grounds are lush. It was hot at the check-in counter but you can get your BOGO Starbucks and relax on a settee, enjoying a sea breeze. Sea facing rooms are nice and have separate toilet and shower areas, with a hot tub on the balcony. Wifi was not working well for my conference calls but it looked like there were repairs made while I was there. Make sure to double check that you have a non smoking room at check-in or prepared to have to reiterate this, even if you booked non- smoking.

The hotel is very nice and wonderful for a relaxing holiday near the beach. Yalong Bay has a great sandy beach with lots of water sports activities. It is the right place for a quite stay with a family or children. The hotel is also great for a relaxing stay. The breakfast is amazing and the hotel personal is super friendly and helpful. The outdoor swimming pools and gym are another plus of the hotel. I in particular enjoyed the Yoga course with the amazing coach there! If someone is more interested in vibrant night life the Yalong Bay may possibly be too quite there. The bar in the hotel was often closed before the announced closing time. I also felt it was a bit strange that is not allowed to use the pools after 6 pm. Even when I go to swim in the sea at my own risk after 6 pm there came a guard and asked me to leave the water. All this is a typical hotel focused on families with children. Still I enjoyed my stay very much !
