The review for this hotel needed updating for 2022. The street and front of the hotel can be a little deceiving but do not judge a book by it’s cover. The welcome I received from the receptionist was extremely friendly and efficient. The receptionist guided me to the lift which is in the courtyard. My double room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. The kettle was definitely a plus. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot add comments. When I checked out I told the receptionist I would hopefully return and he replied “Awesome”! I would definitely recommend this hotel. Would recommend nearby: (1) The Muted Horn craft ale bar. (2) Chuckleheads Comedy Show (in English) on Thursday nights at Deriva Bar. Need to book free tickets on line.

On street parking. Reception very helpful in advising legal places to park (not directly in front of hotel). Room clean kettle and drink making facilities in room, looking out on to inner courtyard, even with window open during the night, couldn't hear street noises. Could imagine might not be adequately warm in winter with laminate/tiled floors and entrance to rooms via lift that opens directly into courtyard. Area at night appeared sleazy but for those wishing to explore Tempelhof, perfectly located.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed and the sauna was required to login and the sauna area was able to use just 1 hour. The opening hours of the sauna from 14:00 to 20:00 on weekends are absolutely unacceptable for such a luxury hotel. We were very angry about it. When booking we have not received any information about the time in the spa is so regulated and it is completely closed in the pool area. At the reception, we received information that the pool was closed due to energy saving measures and also lacked staff. We believe that then the overnight prices must be adjusted accordingly if a significant part of the services cannot be provided. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy our stay as we intended!

Advantages: 1. Excellent location, the main attractions can be reached on foot, there are many good German restaurants around. 2. The breakfast was unexpectedly delicious. Although there is only one restaurant (Italian cuisine), the hotel tastes good. There are different Rieslings in the wine list. 3. The high-rise room can see the scenery, it is beautiful. Disadvantages: 1. The room has no master control and needs to turn off the lights. 2. There are too few plugs in the room, which is inconvenient.

I was attending a conference in Berlin and stayed at the Adlon Kempinski Hotel, adjacent to the Brandenburg Gate, close to the Reichstag Building, and not too far from the Victory Column. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room is not too big and relatively compact, but the facilities are complete, the bedding is excellent, and you can have a good rest. The breakfast conditions are very good, with complete dishes, rich fruits and elegant environment.

The location of the hotel is very good, right next to the Brandenburg Gate. It is a luxury hotel. The service is very good and the breakfast is very rich. If you like retro luxury style, you can try it.

The location is extremely advantageous. It is located in Potsdamer Platz in the center of Berlin, so the safety factor is very high (unlike East Berlin and other places where it is very chaotic). It is a one-person trip! Highly recommend this place; you can walk to the Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Brandenburg after saving. Famous attractions include the Gate and the Berlin Film Museum. The room area is very large, starting at 40m². We recommend the king bed room with a view. The window faces the main street and the scenery and lighting are very good. Breakfast quality is very good!

It is the cheapest Ritz-Carlton I have ever lived in. It costs more than 2,000 yuan during the summer vacation, and it is still worth it. It would be great if you add some porridge, noodles, etc. that are suitable for the Chinese stomach for breakfast!

I guess it is always difficult for a place when the expectations are pitched higher than the reality. Walking into the Waldorf Astoria, one was full of expectation. Wanting to experience the fabled service and amenities. Walking out was a let down. The hotel did not deliver. It all started with the check in process. The staff refused to check me in because the booking was in the name of my partner and he was not there with me. I had the confirmation number. The room was booked for two people. I was ready to give them my card and passport but the wonderful woman at reception refused to check me in because my family name and my partner’s family name don’t match! Give me a break. Surely in this day and age couples with different family names are a common feature? So I had to kill a couple of hours at the restaurant waiting for my partner to get back to the hotel. It’s one of the worst experiences in the world. You have just got off a flight. Your luggage has not made it. You have spent hours at the airport filling up forms and going through missing luggage hoops. All you want is to get to your room and stretch out. But no. The staff at the Waldorf thought I was a security risk The only bright spark was the Concierge Philip who gave us very good advice about the delayed baggage. The bar was not particularly exciting. The drinks were a disappointment and the service was okay. The maitre D at the restaurant was very good but the well done omelette was very underwhelming. Patchy and poor. Those two words describe the famed Waldorf Astoria in Berlin. Skippable.

This hotel just doesn't work. We chose it for its great location and interesting history, but its desire to be cool sacrifices any real comfort. Almost everything is dark and is trying to be what? Mysterious? Not sure. This includes the lobby, making check in... interesting. The only area that's bright (during the day) is the beautiful restaurant. I think that might be the reason there are so many photos of it in the other reviews. We booked a suite that included 2 small balconies with a fantastic view of the TV Tower. But even with the large windows open, the room was dark. So dark in fact, I had to put on makeup in the teeny room for the toilet. Oh, and about that toilet room - it was inches from the head of the bed. Another design decision that didn't take into account how people actually live. But what about the electric lights? Surely they were bright enough to put on makeup? Nope. The bulbs were a glowy, antique yellow, used to evoke a time gone by. I guess a time when lights weren't very bright? These bulbs were controlled by odd steampunk switches that never really worked. Speaking of never working, may I introduce you to the air conditioning? It was a warm, not hot, few days in Berlin, so we hoped opening the windows would be enough. But the combination of the heavy comforter (we asked for a lighter one and were told there was only that one kind) and the heat rising to the top floor made the room very hot at night. Despite being incredibly loud, the A/C never worked. Hot air poured out. A visit from maintenance didn't change anything. We were told that the units were ”temperamental.” Not what you want to hear when you're staying several days. There are so many lovely hotels in Berlin. We've been before and have been very happy. Don't spend the night here. Why not have a drink in the moody bar? Or dinner in the unique and lovely restaurant? Just don't stay here. You won't sleep. We didn't.
The hotel itself is very nice and the room spacious and comfortable. The staff is friendly. The problem is with the billing. I prepaid for the room but due to a billing system error, the hotel didn't recognize the prepayment and pre-authorized upon arrival a much higher credit card payment to cover the room. They only recognized my prepayment when I dug out the prior credit card charge and showed it to them, so this was a stressful way to arrive after a long journey to Berlin. When I checked out five days later, I explained the issue I had upon check in and asked to see a final invoice to ensure it was correct, but they said the billing system was down and they couldn't share it with me, but they would contact me if additional charges were due. A few days later I received a charge for breakfast and incidentals, including mini bar charges I didn't incur. I contacted the hotel to reverse the mini bar charges, but never heard back, so I disputed those charges with my credit card company. It is a nice hotel with a pleasant staff, but I probably wouldn't select again as I found the billing issues too stressful for what was supposed to be a relaxing break in Berlin.

The bathrooms, with their luxurious rain showers and premium toiletries, added a touch of indulgence to the overall experience. One of the standout features of this hotel is the impeccable service provided by the staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive assistance throughout my stay, the staff members demonstrated a genuine commitment to ensuring that guests have a memorable experience. Their knowledge of the local area, including restaurant recommendations and transportation tips, was invaluable in helping me make the most of my time in Berlin. Culinary delights await guests at SO/Berlin Das Stue. Situated near Berlin's iconic Tiergarten park, it offers a peaceful retreat while still being within easy reach of major attractions and cultural landmarks. The nearby Kurfürstendamm shopping street and the Berlin Zoo are just a short stroll away, providing ample opportunities for leisurely walks and shopping sprees. In conclusion, SO/Berlin Das Stue is a haven of luxury, art, and personalized service in the heart of Berlin. From the stylish and comfortable rooms to the exceptional dining experiences and rejuvenating wellness facilities, every aspect of this hotel exudes a sense of refinement and elegance. If you are seeking a unique and memorable stay in Berlin, I highly recommend experiencing the enchanting atmosphere of SO/Berlin Das Stue.

Wonderful hotel with great rooms, very stylish and good facilities. The breakfast is great, in the evening there is a DJ in the courtyard and the service and attentiveness of the staff is very good. The Stue is fully recommended and we would be happy to come back next time we are in Berlin.

I have stayed in many places throughout Europe, and the service and experience are always a toss-up. Orania Berlin made me fall back in love with Berlin in a very special way. From the moment you walk into the hotel, the staff is top tier. I have heard it’s one of the more exclusive hotels in Berlin, and I definitely agree. The rooms are so chic and spacious, with massive windows everywhere. The breakfast was included with our booking, and when you hear ”included,” you think it would be mediocre, but this food was amazing, down to their morning pastry called “Cinnamon Snail.” There is a free piano concert almost every night that you can just walk down from your room to experience. The gym was simple but effective, and you can plug in your own music, blasting the noise without it ever affecting the guests because it’s in the basement. I would recommend staying here as it is such a treat.
The room was lovely but somewhat quirky. After you figured out the lights it was better (one turn, they come on, two they get brighter, three they turn off). But we could have used another lamp by the chair. The shower was great but you could not help but get the floor wet. I wish they would put a top sheet on the bed. As a ”hot sleeper”, the duvet was entirely too hot but there was no other way to cover in the bed. The mattress was wonderful. The shampoo/body wash left a lot to be desired. I ended up using some shampoo from another hotel that I had. Our biggest problem was unless you like duck plan to have dinner elsewhere. The breakfast was very good. The atmosphere is very comfortable to meet friends for coffee or drinks, it really was nice.

The Berlin Marriott is a star. My husband had business in the area so we enjoyed an extended stay in Berlin. Others who stayed closer to the conference weren’t very happy with their experience, but the Marriott made our trip so enjoyable. It would be hard to beat this location. Near the Brandenburg Gate and an easy walk to many of the must-see attractions it allowed me to make the most of my time. I walked in Tiergarten every day. From the excellent first impression (thanks, Cesare) throughout our stay I always felt like I was coming home when I entered the lobby. The wonderful doorman with glasses always had a smile for me (thank you!). We were in room 868 facing Ebertstraße. I expected street noise considering it’s facing the main road but it was honestly one of the most quiet hotel experiences I’d ever had. It’s right in the middle of everything yet so serene. The staff are top-notch. The concierge was friendly and very helpful. The whole operation feels exceptionally well managed. The hotel is spotlessly clean. It even smells good! Our room was very comfortable and had a terrific view. We had a lot of ironing to do and my husband commented on the “fantastic” iron. Little details like that made the business side of this trip less stressful. It also seemed very secure. On our early departure morning we saw the night associates near the door - nothing was going to get past them without them noticing. We found the lobby bar to be relaxing and a great spot to catch up with others in our group. If you’re looking for a quick bite definitely try The Big Dog which is attached to the hotel. Our group really enjoyed our lunch there and Loris was so welcoming. My only suggestion for improvement would be they should replace the instant coffee that’s in the room with a regular coffee maker or Keurig. (Plenty of coffee options at breakfast though - either regular coffee served by staff or you can use the machine where you can push a button and have a specialty coffee in seconds. I think they keep a carafe of coffee right at breakfast check-in so you can grab some in a to-go cup.) On a side note - our early morning taxi to Berlin Brandenburg airport was €50.50. Taxis are always lined up right next to the hotel. I’m home now and really missing our peaceful home base in Berlin.

Best thing about the hotel is its location. The Marriott Berlin is within 5-10 mins walk of the Brandenburg Gate, the Topography of Terrors and many other sites. Being right at the Potsdamer platz, there are many trains and convenient options to get around Berlin. The hotel itself is modern, clean and nicely designed. Rooms are quite big per European standard. I like the design which is industrial, modern, clean-cut and efficient. The saunas and pools were great to have. The infrared seats were great alternative to traditional saunas. The pool was a little small but was never crowded so all in all the spa facilities were very enjoyable. The Executive lounge was a bit small and has fewer options but served its purpose. Plus point for the view from the lounge. The tea and coffee offerings were of high quality. Marriott elites beware: they do check attendants in the lounge (even though there was key card controlled access). This was the first time I have seen this among the 50ish Marriott hotels I have stayed around the world which was strange. Staff was efficient and helpful but not welcoming, warm, or friendly. All in all, it was a great stay in Berlin.

We arrived to a friendly welcome at this lovely hotel . Excellent room, well appointed with a modern ensuite bathroom . Breakfast was a well laid out buffet with plenty of choice . Staff were once again very friendly and courteous with pots of tea or coffee served at the table . The hotel was well placed for sightseeing Berlin and we would thoroughly recommend it if that is the purpose of your visit . The foyer has a unique and fascinating light display which is a lovely feature to watch in the evening with a quiet drink . We understand that there is a pool and gym facility but unfortunately we didn't have time to visit that section of the hotel during our three night stay .

The location of Hilton Berlin is fantastic and the exterior of the hotel plus the lobby is very beautiful. Very walkable location with many surrounding dining and sightseeing options. Overall, housekeeping was good. The rooms run fairly small and look dated, so value for money is not that great. Bathroom is clean but not very well-maintained, especially the toilet. The check-in concierge staff were ok but I would expect friendlier and more proactive service for the price we were paying and being a diamond member as well. The staff who was a blonde lady with glasses checked me in and out and was the friendliest staff i encountered during my stay. Rarely did the other staff smile or greet us when we walked past them and they generally did not have great customer service skills, and generally just unfriendly. The front door concierge and door staff were much friendlier and greeted us more than the check-in staff. I also had a very terrible experience with the night security staff when my friend and I came back to the hotel around 6 am after a night out. We walked in and were stopped by a man who was not wearing any uniform, or any attire to signal he was working at the Hilton, and in regular clothes, he was a bit hard to understand because he had a thick accent, and I thought he might be another patron at the hotel or a taxi driver, so I politely smiled at him and said “no thank you” and walked towards the elevator. He got extremely angry, began shouting at me, and said he was a worker there and showed me his keys with a Hilton keychain. He wanted to verify that we had a room key. While we were taking out the key, he was calling me rude and dismissive and that I was a terrible person. It was so jarring because there was no need to be that rude, he was acting like I shooed him away when I’m reality it was a miscommunication. He then went into the back of the concierge to complain about me loudly, didn’t even wait till I was out of earshot. It was hard to identify him as a staff, much less security, and I didn’t need to be scolded like a child. Overall, very unprofessional and made the remainder of my stay feel much more sour. I can look past the dated rooms because I know that is out of the staff’s control at that point of time. But unprofessional and unfriendly staff make the value of my stay and diamond member status much worse.

Great location for transport options (train direct from airport, and we got a bus to Dresden from right outside the hotel) and central city attractions - including only 15 minutes walk to Museum Island. The services and amenities were not the best given this is a Radisson - the staff were quite friendly (let us check in slightly early) but as an actual paying hotel guest, the hotel will charge you 2 euro per piece of luggage to store it for a couple of hours, it costs 6 euro to access the hotel roof terrace to see the city views, and as a hotel policy the coffee isn’t restocked daily in the room (you can get your daily replacements but you have to go to reception yourself). Room was clean enough but a bit dated/tired especially the bathroom fit out. Hotel was fine overall but I think it’s a stretch to call it a 4 star.

Next to HB Biergarten and Alexandraplatz Station. Good spread for breakfast, however, the menu barely change over 7 seven days. Just be aware that there are no amenities (toothbrush, kettle, fridge, cup for hot beverages), so do bring your own. Wifi connectivity is excellent throughout the hotel. Avoid arriving on Sunday, as most shops will be closed.

Four things to know about this hotel before you book. 1. If you book early you will pay more. 311 euros a night booked three months ahead. 200 euros a night booked three weeks ahead. Look at any booking website. 2. On check-in they take the full amount of your stay from your credit card, plus a 50 euros a day deposit ”in case you use the mini-bar”. (In fact the mini-bar is empty - see photo). This might be a problem if you have credit limit issues. 3. They use sweaty, clammy poly-cotton bed-linen - see photo of label. You cannot change hotels because they have already trousered your money. To sleep properly we had to buy our own fully cotton bed-linen - see photo of receipt. The reason they use poly-cotton is explained on the manufacturer's website: ”Bed linen must be lightweight...thus allowing staff to work faster....Experience shows that savings of 5 to 10% can be achieved”. Nothing about the comfort of guests. The staff say that all Westin hotels use poly-cotton. Totally unacceptable in a serious hotel and we shall not stay in a Westin hotel again. 4. Because of the hotel's layout, most bedrooms are 50 to 120 meters from the elevators. In the course of a day you can easily walk a kilometre or more to and from your room. In other respects it is well positioned, if you wish to be in Mitte, the breakfast is good, and the staff are professional and helpful to the extent that the chain allows. Garden rooms are a very little bit smaller than rooms on the street, but much quieter and a few have a balcony.

Stayed for 4 nights in September 2022. The location of the hotel is ideal, being both quiet enough to relax but also close to all the sights. 3 minutes walk from the S-Bahn station and 5 minutes from the U-Bahn. The room was a good size. Comfortable bed, large TV with super picture. Big bathroom with powerful shower and a bath. Immaculately clean. The black out curtains were very useful to shut out the early morning light. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room (I just wish they would leave more tea bags rather than 1 of each type!) There was also a safe in the room. Buffet breakfast selection was brilliant, and the food was of a good quality. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and efficient. There was nothing too formal, just a nice environment all round. Good value for money and ticked every box for our stay. Thoroughly recommend.

Since it's a museum island, I thought I could go everywhere on foot, but it's not accessible on foot unless you take the bus. It's closer to Ostbahnhof than Hauptbahnhof. The night view of the Berlin Dome from the room is beautiful 👍🏼

I stayed only two nights at a&o Berlin Mitte with Contiki, the stay was comfortable. The four-share rooms were very small and a bit tricky to fit our four suitcases. We also had a run-in with staff at the front desk. For a four-share room, we only got two keys. When a member of our group asked for a spare key, she was denied then given a temporary card and was rudely told to bring it right back - but how could she get back into the room to bring it back??? Others in our tour had the same experience. Besides that, the breakfast was great.

Decent hostel, relatively clean and facilities are good. Location is good has a tram and metro stop right outside. Only downside is upon arrival 3/4 of the locks didn’t work in our rooms so we had to get reception to fix. However, they were very efficient and felled straight away. Also to note that reception normally only has one staff member on so you might be waiting a while to be seen to

The hostel is very dirty. All the surfaces are sticky. There is a terrible stench in the rooms, toilets, corridors and lobby. Things forgotten by the previous tenants are lying around until they are thrown away by the current tenants. Mattresses are stained with brown stains, possibly menstrual blood (I was in the women's room). The pillows are crumpled and terribly uncomfortable. The beds stand so you can't fully open the window to air it out. The lobby is very noisy and smelly too, apparently there is no ventilation or it is blocked. Absolutely not recommended, even for 25€ a night! It's too much for this place.

This hotel has 5 room types, i booked an Executive apartment, which if the second top room type. I am a solo traveller, but liked the room layout and the extra space. I checked in on 30/03/22 for 3 nights and was allocated room 107. On opening the door i immediately thought it did not exactly resemble the pics i had seen for an Executive Apartment, it was big enough, but just not what i was expecting. The kitchen area was locked up with a shutter over it, which i thought strange. I literally just in the room for 5 minutes and went out exploring. I checked with reception about the kitchen being looked and they asked if i wanted it unlocked to use, yes, that's why i booked that room type, the fridge with freezer compartment for ice and cold drinks. I came back about 5 hours later and the kitchen was indeed unlocked. I was going to shower and looked for the bath robe and slippers which should be in the room, but nothing was there. it was at this point i was sure this was not the room type i had booked. I checked on my phone and looking at the specifications was sure i had been given the wrong room type. I went to reception to enquire and spoke to the duty manager, he printed off 2 pages to show the difference between an Executive Apartment and an Apartment (the top room type), although the same pics had been used to advertise both room types, there were some differences and he stated that my room was larger than most in the hotel. I was still unsure, but accepted what he said and i collected a bathrobe and slippers, the reason they are not already in the room was due to ongoing Covid restrictions. I still felt that i was in the room room type, it was large, but a lot of the room was taken up by a wet room, which was adapted for a wheelchair user and this made the room an awkward space with a lot of dead space. As it turned out, my flight home was cancelled and i ended up staying only 2 nights, so didn't pursue things further. On returning home i checked the room specifications on the website and room 107 is not up to the specifications advertised or as soon in the pics. two main reasons. 1) Executive Apartments have a sofa/sofa bed and can sleep up to 3 people, room 107 had no sofa/sofa bed and this room could only sleep 2 people max. 2) Executive Apartments have a separate seating area, a table and chairs where you can sit and eat, this is clearly shown in the pics too. This was not in room 107. The only seating was a chair at the desk and one other chair. I think room 107 is a superior room adapted for a wheelchair user, but was given to me as i was a solo traveller and dd not need the capacity to sleep 3. I wanted the sofa/sofa bed to sit on and relax, that's why i booked a room with that in it. I am only writing this review, as 3 emails have gone unanswered, one to novum hotels 10/04/22 and two direct to the hotel 12/04/22 and 20/04/22. I do note that the hotel responds to some reviews on here, so perhaps you could get back to me, as I would

the question is: WHERE IS THE MANAGER OF THIS HOTEL? I am completely disappointed, especially due to the fact Axel is a great brand in Spain. No hot water in the shower, no bar, no bathrobe in the room, dodgy people from outside 'chilling' in Jacuzzi on Sunday morning which was meant to be for guests only... Absolutely disgusting. Saunas are working based on someones mood, jacuzzi is not jacuzzi, it's just a bath tube with hot water in it. No one cares over there, even leaflets around reception are 6 months old and plants outside main door dying... Very overpriced hotel with no quality whatsoever. Sad picture
