What a BEAUTIFUL resort! If you love to golf (even if you don"t) The Carolina is a treat. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It was dressed for Christmas which made it that much more lovely. Restaurants, retail shopping, spa, or just sitting out on the wrap around porch with a glass of wine! Service is exceptional! Our rooms were well appointed and clean. The property of Pinehurst is enormous and has many places you can stay but we choose the Carolina and were glad we did. They have a shuttle that continuously runs between all of the hotels and courses. we will be back!

We stayed 2 nights at the Carolina Hotel, the main hotel at Pinehurst Resort. It has classic charm, nicely updated, very clean and comfortable. The service was very good, everyone was friendly. As a non-golfing spouse, I enjoyed walking around the property and exploring the little on-site village a couple blocks away. There is a good selection of restaurants; we had excellent meals. Our room was large, with a huge bathroom. I believe it was a handicap-accessible room, which may have contributed to the spacious feel. It was spotless and well-stocked with towels, extra pillows, etc.

I am very disappointed in the value of The Carolina Hotel based on the VERY EXPENSIVE cost to stay here. We booked one of the “renovated” King Rooms but was it was pretty barebones (almost spartan) given the price tag. Paper cups for coffee & plastic cups in the bathroom (No real glasses. Really?). We stayed here in 2012 & had a much better experience. I would not recommend to any of my friends to stay here given the price & lack of value for what you pay. I know we live in an anti-smoking age & time, but I was disappointed I was no longer able to smoke on the porch & enjoy a cocktail. A better compromise would have been to restrict smoking for 75-80% of the porch and let smokers partake in an isolated end of the porch. Positives: The property itself is very pretty, and I love the historic nature of the hotel. Golf courses @ Pinehurst are great (especially #2 & #8). Breakfast buffet @ The Carolina is expensive, but it is FANTASTIC. The overall staff is very good.

Dining and planning was excellent! Celebrated Our son’s birthday during The Open- so hard ! But, we are members !! Had a custom cake And a special time!!! Food was excellent and service was subpar !!! Yay! Pinehurst Country club! Now make it easier to get into 2 as a member - What ? I had to write 200 words

First of all the Carolina Hotel was absolutely beautiful. My wife loved it. The young lady at the front desk ( Danielle) was a little rude and seemed a bit annoyed when we asked her questions. She was not very knowledgeable about the area either. Luckily later on we found Porcha at the front desk and she was very helpful and had a wonderful personality. We ate at the Carolina Vista lounge and grabbed some coffee at the small coffee shop in the lobby. Both were amazing. My wife had an amazing time at the Spa and said the service and staff there were amazing. I played a few rounds of golf with my friends and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back.
