|4.09km from city centerI usually stay a lot closer to the haram during my visit to Makkah, but during Ramadhan the prices rocket so I've had no other option but to find a clean tidy hotel at a reasonable price. I stayed here many times before (all during Ramadhan). The hotel is around 10 mins from the Haram by car. You cannot walk it from the hotel to the haram (not walkable distance, plus it goes through the mountain tunnels). You can get a taxi for around 10 rials to the haram, but on the way back it can be slightly more - around 15-20 rials (just keep haggling). From the drop off point, it's around 10 mins walk. The hotel does run a shuttle bus for free, but I've never used it simply because of the timing. The shuttle bus drops you at the coach station area which leads the footpath to Mount Marwa side of the haram. Don't bother looking for the shuttle bus from the haram to the hotel, it's a total nightmare and chaos during salah times so better off just taking a taxi. The rooms are clean, tidy and quite. The room service is horrible, they never clean your room despite several requests. The AC is good and blows cold air. A number of lifts, so you don't get stuck waiting around for ages. Due to it's location, it's not busy like the hotels right next to the haram. There are number of restaurants nearby and also a bin Dawood at walking distance. When you want to get a taxi from the haram and don't speak arabic, just tell the driver ”Makaram al bait, khareeb Bin Dawood”, this has worked for me each time - they will know exactly where you want to go. Like i said, don't pay more than 15 rials.. There is also a masjid very close to the hotel if you end up missing the prayer at the haram.

There is a free bus shuttle service which runs every 10-15 minutes to & from the Haram, which drops around 600m from the Haram. Be sure to leave early from the Hotel to reach for the prayers on time. The room was clean as well as the toilet. Hotel staff was generally friendly. There are two restaurants on levels R & H, as well as prayer room at floor PR if someone needs it.

Although we knew it will be smaller but did not expect that smaller. There were no table to keep at least 1 luggage and I had to crawl to my bed as only one side was open. On request, they changed the room to a slightly bigger room. For the price I might use it again.

Many lifts, therefore don’t have to wait long. It is cheaper hotel and only one we were able to find during Ramadan which is why we stayed here. However, it is quite far. Not ideal if you would like to spend most time in haram. Website states they provide a shuttle service, however it is a shared shuttle service which I believe is provided by Hajj ministry? Therefore, it is not just the hotels. You have to queue after prayer times and there is A LOT of people trying to get on the bus. At busy times such as jummah, the busses stop running. Our room card stopped working every single day and we had to get reception to re issue it. Overall, the hotel was ok. Would I stay again? No. I wouldn’t recommend either.

|0.93km from city centerI arrived to the hotel at 10 and the lady in the reception told us to go and do the Omra and come back to get the rooms, I am a gold Fairmont member which was treated badly. We came back at 2:30 and noticed that the rooms are not ready and have been told that the check in time is 4PM, however before one day of arrival they called me to ask me what time do I want the room to be ready. Each customer receptionist was directing me to another where this wasn’t practical at all, image I was awake more than 12 hours and at the end of the day each on just throws me. Then after having a fight we got the rooms finally, I get to know that one of the rooms is full of insects and the other room is noisy from the neighbors. When I called to tell the reception after several fights they changed both rooms, we had to wait more than 15 minutes for the escalators. Overall my experience with this hotel is really baaaaaaad and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The only positive point was that it’s few steps to the Haram other than that nothing is worth it at all, even when you speak to someone from the receptionist they don’t reply as of they don’t listen and in my case I am a gold member plus trip advisor level 6, how if I was a normal guest what would happen. They made my day very hard and miserable

|4.53km from city centerGood stay in Makkah whilst we visited as a family. Close to Hajj ziyārah sites and only 5 minute drive to Masjid al Haram (when it’s quiet. Reasonably clean though I wasn’t convinced by the IHG cleanliness assurance during these sensitive times. We went for the 2 interconnecting rooms but the hotel had lost the key to the interconnecting door!! It took all night and into dawn before we were relocated into another room with a door that allowed access to each others room... quite important when you have 3 children. Until then, all 5 of us slept in one room for the first night of the 2 nights booked!! Our new room had issues with the door lock sensor.... so a maintenance problem all round. Once the issues were sorted however, everything else was smooth. Decent enough breakfast for European and Arab tastes. Spacious rooms, well decorated. One thing to note... reception staff are excellent - polite, well mannered and want to get things sorted for you. It’s just unfortunate the maintenance staff struggle. I’d recommend on the basis the maintenance issues were a one off issue.

|1.08km from city centerPOSITIVE : - The proximity to Masjidil Haram and the Holy Kaaba. - Sufficient size of room for a family NEGATIVE : Restaurant - Have been travelling around the continent for many years, this was the WORST hotel service we have ever had. - We were SHOCKED for having the staffs, particularly restaurant staffs, were so RUDE, UNFRIENDLY and ARROGANT. None of them wore smiles while serving guests. - The staffs THREW plates and cutleries, BANGING trays, moving chairs rudely with guests were still around them. - They served all guests with PLASTIC spoon and fork. They literally served guests dining like serving workers. - Even a couple of them, having EARPHONE on their ears, talking on the phone while serving breakfast like nobody see them. We were terribly shocked to find that kind of ARROGANCY. - The hotel as if hiring a group of GANGSTER working at the restaurant. Room - We were given a room right in the corner, among the rooms that were having renovation projects. - The dusts, noises, and the filthy dirty surroundings were out of our imagination. The experience that was completely different from the Le Meridien, not far away from this hotel, where I am the member of their Marriott membership. We did not want to make so much noise about those experience as we came here for worshipping and prayers. But seriously, we do hope that the management will do something about their service culture.

Location: Walk from the hotel to Masjid Haram. It takes about 10 minutes. It's not very far. There are shops and people passing by along the side of the road.
Service: Excellent service There's no problem. All employees are lovely. WiFi signal throughout the building, both in rooms and in hotel areas.
Amenities: In the bathroom there is a hair dryer, shampoo and soap, 3 towels, a kettle, and a cloth for prayer. There is a hanger. And a safe that is inside the clothes, a cool air conditioner, a soft bed and a comfortable bedside lamp. Everything is complete here and there is a mini refrigerator as well.

|1.21km from city centerWe have been here for the 2019's Hajj. I actually can't think of anything positive about this hotel. Quadriple room is small and you get the feeling that is not really genuine quadriple. Location is not the best; it is not far(900m) but you can still get better deals closer to the Haram. The hotel is extremely disorganised, they are clearly not prepared for busy seasons. Room service is poor; you need to call them to get your room cleaned. Food quality was terrible in the first few days but got a bit better after we complained. Going up and down by the left was an absolutely nightmare; we had a large Tunisian group staying with us with massive chaos around the left areas almost all day long. I had no hit water in my room in the last couple of days and I had to shower with cold water!

There’s two towers, 1 & 2, both have a great breakfast.
There’s two restaurants in tower 2. There’s a cafe which can make birthday cake if you so wish.
There’s a nice prayer room inside the hotel.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

|0.77km from city centerWe stayed for a week. Overall, it was a decent experience although ultimately overpriced during Umrah. The room was relatively small. We were able to add a third guest at a cost of 300 riyals per night which was reasonable but only a bunk bed was offered and it took the minimal space available. The bathroom sink was clogged during our entire stay despite repetitive requests made to the cleaning staff and on the Bonvoy Marriott app. The food experience is however terrible! Iftar at the restaurant is extremely overpriced for 250 riyals per person and unjustified for a food of poor quality and not tasty at that. The scheduling was also hectic. Iftar was only from 7 to 9 pm and Sohour from 1 to 3 am; meaning if one wanted to attend Taraweeh, they would not be able to eat by the time they came back from the Mosque and would have to wait until 1 am to sustain themselves, which is ridiculous. We were therefore eating at the coffeeshop reception which was offering a buffet for 100 riyals per person, which was still overpriced for what it was. Only a few items were offered and not replenished.

|0.89km from city centerThe hotel is a number 8 towers which look like they used to be apartments. Very high end, with lots of lifts and friendly reception staff in the lobby. We had a partial view of the clock tower which was nice. They offer a good buffet breakfast, restaurant and in room dining options, however, the wait times for eggs and pancakes is too long. The hotel also offers a shuttle service, 5-10 minutes wait and which can be manic during busy times. People push and shove to get on as its everyman for himself like you would see in third world country. The shuttle service is 10-15 minutes to Haram and is about 20 minute walk to the holy mosque. I would prefer to be closer to the mosque next time and within a 5 -10 minite walking distance as getting to prayers in the mosque requires being early about 1 hours before if you want to pray infront of the Kabaa and can make one lazy to go back and forth because of the distance and waiting for shuttles.

The rooms are very nicely appointed, albeit a bit small and cramped at times but the beds are very comfortable. The real star of the show is the service though. Shoutout to Mohamad Rifky, the executive house keeper for ensuring that all of the service was on time and conducted in a professional manner. He really went above and beyond in ensuring that our stay was absolutely wonderful and that all of our needs were met and exceeded! He's doing a wonderful job and you all should stop by Shaza Makkah and see for yourself!

|0.68km from city centerThis has been the worst experience and hotel I have ever been to. Me and my husband came to stay here as part of our umrah package deal. We arrived at the hotel and were sat waiting for over 3 hours due to complications with our booking which was primarily due to the fault of our travel agents. However, members of staff at the hotel were not willing to help the situation considering we had landed from a flight and it was now late evening. Whilst we were dealing with the situation of sorting out our booking a member of the booking office advised that we pay for a night ourselves on top of what we had already paid and that by the following day the situation would be sorted. The following morning we met with the service manager who we went to ask for a refund as the extra night we had paid for was not needed due to our booking being fixed the previous night by almost midnight. We tried explaining that we didn’t want to pay for the extra night however that is what was advised to us by the booking staff the night before who stood there quietly as if he wasn’t the one who told us to do so. The service manager was the most disrespectful individual I have come across telling us that he wouldn’t issue a refund as it wasn’t the fault of the hotel. There had been extra complications arising as there had now been 3 bookings under our name by the following morning no fault of our own but now miscommunication between travel agents and the hotel. Whilst I was trying to explain the situation the service manager asked that I be quiet and that he wasn’t going to listen to me. I felt berated by this person and as a result went to speak to the manager of the hotel. The manager of the hotel was just as rude and was not empathetic with the situation at all. I explained that our first time experience of umrah had been ruined by the lack of understanding and disrespect from the staff at the hotel. The manager himself was just as rude and not wanting to listen. After going to our bedroom we found that the water from the sink was brown, plug sockets were broken, tv was broken, phones were broken and shower wasn’t working properly. During our time here we had housekeeping visit us once and we had asked SEVERAL times for two days straight for extra towels, toilet roll and an iron which we got half through the trip. The breakfast was probably the only decent thing about this hotel. I wouldn’t dare to recommend this hotel to anyone.
