Positives: safe, clean and in a good location to explore Rio (there's a nearby metro for direct access to Copacabana and Ipanema). Breakfast had a decent selection (though they cancelled it at short notice on one day) and the rooftop pool is a good size. There were a few negatives however. First, the staff are not helpful or friendly: in fact they act like they are there to police guests rather than offer a service. Check-in was chaos. Second, the walls are paper thin so it can be noisy. Third, the shower in our bathroom had very poor water pressure so it was just a dribble of water. We liked the area but you need to be sensible and alert. Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not.

Receptionist William is very educated and gentle, congratulations! The room was clean and smellful. The beds were good, the shower was excellent, and even a hair dryer, and a simple breakfast was made, but it was the best to meet our needs. I just leave as a comment for improvement: the room TV was broken (as our stay was small and we don't care we don't talk to the hotel about it, but I think it was important since it was one of the items offered in the daily). And another point is that, despite the cleaning, I had cheap bathroom furniture, perhaps because it was a little old, and it was generally worth the cost-benefit.

Very good breakfast and the Stilo Restaurant in the lobby near the pool. The SPA is very nice and having sauna and jacuzzi. Overall the experience has been more than satisfactory and it has been very nice to feel the hotel cares about its guests. Sometimes I had to leave to run some errands but there would always be someone of the staff keeping an eye on my Mother when I was not around. Thank you all heaps for the great stay and I shall be back! I also should make a remark I usually stay about one month in every hotel I go and therefore I have all the elements to express a legit opinion. A good hotel does feel like you are actually home and Laghetto is exactly like that. Kudos for all and most obliged once more! Anyway, I did hear the rumor that a staff member is about to write a mystery book portraying the Laghetto Stilo and all the staff as the actual book characters. Ain’t it tops? Another staff member working in the Stilo restaurant is a great singer and you see a great deal of talented people out and about, which depicts the hotel as a power force not only as a great place to stay but as well as a place where true talent runs in the veins. The drinks are superb and the food is so fine that you can come back from the beach and feast. In a certain way, Laghetto Stilo does remind me when I was a little child in Wales, where every summer I could watch the very same scenes from the hotel where I used to stay. Art, memories, nice people and a nice infrastructure. What else could someone wish for? I do enjoy a place where talent runs around and besides that, even the linen is top quality and so are the rooms. The access to the beach is very easy and all in all, the place grows on you as times passes by. Not actually willing to carry coals to Newcastle, I found here a great atmosphere and that’s the same one others should experience. They will try to accommodate every demands, or simple whims and they are all deeply experienced staff bearing know how enough to grant you what you are asking for or very close of it. The pool is enough, the hotel needs not to portray any ostentation because what they have is enough. It’s like finding a pot of gold belonging to a leprechaun at the end of a rainbow, only this time, the leprechaun will share his gold with you. Keep up with the great job! |5km from city center Great position very near Copacabana beach, very good buffet breakfast, al the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, except one Few things were not perfect: The buttons on the elevators sometimes they worked sometimes they didn't, making it difficult to do simple things like going to out room/breakfast area/ reception. The hotel, despite on the online reservation was confirmed that we could pay cash at the arrival, deducted to my credit card the 1st night 2 days before our arrival. Because on the day of our arrival we did not pay the other 3 nights in full, the following day they blocked our magnetic card key, until the outstanding payment was paid. I think it was very mean, because anyway they have my credit card details in case ”we run away” as I mentioned to the man at the reception This member of staff in particular, working from the evening, once I paid in full in cash, he did not want to provide for a receipt. I explained I needed an evidence that I handled the remaining amount, but he said I would have the receipt only at check out. I didn't want to create an issue, but only after politely insisting I received the receipt. All the remaining staff at reception, at the breakfast and the cleaners, were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, the only problem was that the cooked food was not kept hot, so it was only available to eat cold, and that was a pity because breakfast is one of the strenght of this hotel's facility

The young staff in the morning were just as helpful, bending over backwards to help ,felt so sorry couldn’t tip them , as hadn’t expected to need anymore cash as supposed to be en route to Heathrow ! But they knew this and we just had to thank them . As was the lovely gentleman on the door .

I knew coming in that I wouldn't be receiving luxury, spaciousness, or any big perks common at higher-end chains—I booked for the unbeatable $29 price and wonderful location, and nothing more. So if you’re expecting anything extra, this isn’t the property for you. But I really enjoyed my stay!! The staff, especially a super nice woman at check-in whose name I dreadfully forget, made my visit special. Everyone was willing and excited to help with anything I needed, including supplying me copious bottles of water to last me the week. When I needed a wheelchair-accessible taxi to pick up my wheelchair when it lost battery, the aforementioned woman was so kind and helpful for calling local companies and their drivers to find someone on a moment’s notice. Thank you! The rooms were definitely small and basic, but they were clean and in far better shape than most Ibis properties I would end up staying at while in Europe in June 2022. My electric wheelchair just barely fit through the door and into the space. Knowing that all I really needed at a hotel on my RJ trip was just a bed to lay my head on, the Ibis Budget provided me that, put simply. I also requested a room facing the interior apartment block area (i.e. away from the street), and noise levels were perfect for my sensitive ears. Traffic in RJ isn’t too noisy anyway, but I recommend these rooms for anyone in any case. Stays like these are what make me grateful to be a loyal newcomer to Accor and their rewards program. I very much enjoyed my stay, and for your wallet’s sake, I recommend booking here. And the location…mere blocks from Copacabana! Thank you!

Spend the day by the beautiful pool, then walk the 5 minutes to the centre of Lapa in the evening! Its a fairly ”adult” hotel, but its suits us because of the location and the babies love the pool ! I would recommend staying here one or two nights to experience the nightlife, Spanish steps and the local vibe ! Breakfast is good but the ”oasis” factor is the big deal ! Downsides, checkin can be slow, but they promise me they are working on that, and for the price which is an absolute bargain most of the time makes this a no brainer ! The rooms by the pool are perfect and worth the little extra, the staff are great! I stay here once a month and cant recommend it highly enough ! Of course you get what you pay for, there is no parking, and it can get busy, but as someone who stays in hotels a lot, I recommend this as literally an oasis in the centre of the party district ! And its great value for money !

You will have breakfast right in front of the beach, you get the best view from the rooftop pool (which is heated, for me is a plus).
Negative points: cheapest room is incredibly small and has a terrible view. Recepcion is very busy all the time and 20% of the staff are not friendly, but the other 80% are.
You can't expect them to book you a restaurant for example, and if they do they will not be very happy.
My suggestions for Arpoador: i love your place, i have been there 3 times and i will return. It would be nice to have a welcome drink on arrival, and the pool upstairs could have some relaxing music. Also staff with a little more training would be perfect! Some of them are already perfect.

|7.52km from city centerThe hostel is very bad, especially in relation to the price. They charged me $244 for two nights in a private room with a bathroom like the one in the photo they publish here. Although it is not cheap: I bathed with cold water all three days, the room HAS NO WINDOWS (photos attached). Therefore it is ugly to sleep there and I don't know the clothes, the towels, or the floor are wet from the confinement. Even worse is that they have a mechanical ventilation system in these rooms and bathrooms that have no exit to the outside and makes a noise that bothers sleeping. The hostel is very well located but IT DOES NOT HAVE COMMON SPACES. There is no patio, no terrace, no living room, no kitchen that allows you to cook. There are only a couple of tables on the sidewalk with a gazebo. It is very poor for the standard that this chain is supposed to have. If I had paid less than 50 dollars a night I would have understood that the accommodation would be so simple. But it seems to me that it is a scam for what they charge. They force you to book with a guaranteed credit card no matter what and when you arrive you realize that it's not worth staying there for that money and you don't want to leave either because they charge you a punitive minimum of one night for canceling before 24 hours I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Shaped towels, furnished shirts, all damaged in the micro-room, breakfast with old taste, guest struggle at the reception that gave up to police and break, finally ... in a day that is not so cheap, for me was the worst experience of I have been home in a luxury and economic location, and I know when the hotel is simple but honest, let me go away from the garden, and, to worse, I found a cheap room on the second day. The ladder's lady shouting high early morning, waking up ... Even so, all in this hotel is horrible. The location, far from everything, has no coffee shop nearby.
