I was worried that there were several comments that were not good for Trip.com reviews and Google Maps reviews, but the result was a very good hotel. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly, the room was clean, spacious and easy to use. The shower has hot water and the water pressure is not bad. It is still good if there is a hair dryer.

We just spend one night there but we really enjoyed it! The location is really central and the place is nice and clean. Even though we arrived at 4am the host was super welcoming and wasn‘t too strict about an exact check out time. In the morning she prepared a delicious breakfast for us and we felt really comfortable staying there!

Pros: -there's welcome drink -decent/neat room -recep agreed for an early check-in (around 6am) since we will do an early check out (7am) -centrally located -easy access to stores, restos, money exchange, etc. Cons: -value for money? -no free toiletries -no coffee or tea contrary to what is advertised -wifi is poor -buffet breakfast is poor. (ate a small portion of cereals only as nothing else was palatable) -few mosquitoes in the room so better be ready of a repellent. Otherwise, try to kill the mosquito😁 -i dnt have any photos to post

Hilton is in a nice location a short walk from the sea and Galle Face Hotel. We had an executive room with lounge access. There was obviously some refurbishment of some rooms going on as we heard the work in our room! We didn’t have a refurbished room and it was in need especially the bathroom which was very worn, old fashioned and lacking in comfort. It was clean but had a damp feel to it as did the room which was also tired looking. We had lounge access which was good and had been modernised. There was a small buffet in the evening and drinks. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was downstairs in the main restaurant and had a lot of choice although not much cereal selection. Hotel pool is external to the main grounds and you have to crossover the main road via a raised walkway. A nice pool area with bar and the fitness centre is also located here with good amount of equipment, a separate weights room to the running machines, cross trainers etc.

We stayed at this hotel on a weekend for 2 days and found this hotel ideally located in Colombo 1 for visiting tourist sites such Lotus Tower etc. Our room was on 5th floor, clean with good amenities, great hot shower, comfy double bed, TV etc., the only downside was the windows were high and could not see anything outside. The staff were friendly at the reception, restaurant, and housekeeping. The main man at the restaurant was super friendly and flexible. The breakfast had a good selection buffet and was very nice. Although there was loud noise from lots of nightclubs outside, it did not really disturb us. Our room was cleaned on second day. I would highly recommend this hotel with lots of restaurants within walking distance distance.

This upper-end hostel provides a good environment to meet fellow travellers. The staff were very friendly and offered me baggage storage for a few days free of charge. The bedding and bathroom are clean, with free drinks provided at the lobby. The hostel is also centrally located in Fort, with souvenir shops and the Dutch Hospital being a stone's throw away. Airport pickup provided by the hostel is slightly pricey so I would recommend visitors to use Uber/Pickme instead.

The rooms were compact. The linen and towels were clean. Everything About the hotel was good except the food at their restaurant. I think they have a chef coming in once a week who preps everything and all that the chefs who are there do is reheat and serve it. Tonight's dal will become sambar tomorrow. Breakfast's aloo bhaji will become the base for the veggie curry they serve for Dinner. The poori was so hard I had to break it instead of tearing it. There is sausage for breakfast and the same gets converted to devilled sausages for dinner. There are quite a few number of restaurants around this place. It's better to not pay for the food and choose to eat outside before going back to your hotel.

Excellent hotel. Clean and polite staff. The only negative is the noise from live music, namely from drums in the hotel restaurant. They play on the street near the restaurant under the windows of vacationers - this is of course terrible. Music drums until 00-00 on weekends.

OK Folks once upon time this used to be one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. That was decades ago, this is one of the very few Sri lankan government owned hotel today. This is not so luxurious to match a five star, but a pretty good hotel which fits in well for a three star. There are glitches here and there, it's an old building, you might find the hot water not working or a broken switch, pardon that, the hotel is working very hard to fix those with the little financial resources they have. The staff of the hotel are very kind and hard working. If you request them for something, they will not hesitate to try there best to satisfy your needs. The hotel has undergone a renovation recently and working hard to maintain a good menu of food. Again people are good and hard working but with the financial resources they have, there are limitations. Overall its a good 3 star hotel with a decent menu of food and really polite people. Help them by reserving your rooms with this little place which has a big history, the more guest who visit this place, the more money they get, so they can serve you better the next time your arrive. Be kind when making your reviews, try to look through the eyes of good people here who are trying to make your stay the best ever. Let encourage more people to use thus hotel so they can soon start to cater you with five star perfection.

This was the place we chose to stay for 5 days when Colombo curfew was enforced. For 5 days Bandar was more than helpful, ket everyone happy and things clean. Stay here for transit only before heading back to Maldives. Nice and big room. Affordable. There was some renovation during my stay, and was too noisy during the day. The hotel facilities are equivalent to the domestic three-star level. The price of more than 700 is not cheap. The room is quite large and has a sea view of the Indian Ocean. There are no advantages other than this. The breakfast is a bit perfunctory. The breakfast ended at 10 o'clock. When we went to the restaurant at 9:40, there was almost no hot food to eat. We could only eat some bread. I guess the restaurant waiter couldn't stand it and made us an egg roll. The overall service was disappointing. I called twice to ask for slippers. When checking out, I was delayed for half an hour because of the breakfast charge. All kinds of things were not smooth.

We visited as a family of 7, including 2 kids. Chandana, the host, was very accommodating to our needs and went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. The place had a backpacker retreat type setting with Boho themes. The place is clean and well kept but appears to be a bit old, so expect the usual quirks of older homes. Parking is available for small cars only. Larger vehicles would need to park at the top of the cul-de-sac by the arterial lane. Overall, it was a positive experience.

The outside is warmly furnished. The interior environment is clean. There is a private bathroom and efficient air conditioning in the room. The sea is right outside the hotel. And there is a good café and iconic train there. The reception and owner were friendly and helpful. It was morning when I transferred over. What a letdown! A place we used to adore turned into a disaster, all thanks to a single employee who completely disrupted our repeated visits. Although I'm tempted to mention the manager's name, I don't wish to jeopardize someone's livelihood. Instead, I strongly urge the hotel to focus on training their staff in handling situations professionally and courteously. Customers should never be treated poorly or made to feel worthless. This unfortunate incident occurred during my friend's engagement, which started off wonderfully but ended in disappointment due to a billing issue that was insignificant. There's a clear explanation for why this billing issue occurred, and I'd prefer not to discuss it in this review. However, I would gladly share the details with the senior management of the hotel. Moreover, I believe the hotel owes an apology to my friend, who had to endure this unpleasant experience on their special day. It's disheartening to think that what should have been a joyous celebration was marred by the behavior of a single employee. It's crucial to instill in your employees the understanding that customers should always be a top priority, and anyone within the premises should be treated as a valued customer. This experience has left a sour taste, and I sincerely hope that the hotel takes appropriate measures to address this. We genuinely want to continue enjoying this beautiful place without a single employee tarnishing the wonderful memories we once had.

This is a premium guest house in a excellent location overlooking the sea. They do have a few deficiencies but those can be overlooked as the overall package is good. The boss Mr Sudarshan is an excellent gentleman who assists with all that is possible.
