      Stayed here 1 night to be closer to the airport after a trip to the Amalfi Coast. Firstly (and this isn't knocking the hotel), Naples can be a bit of a shock to the system if you have visited other Italian cities (Rome/Milan etc) so do your research on where to stay. The Historic Quarter was well recommended, hence picking the Santa Chiara Inn. It is set just off of a back-road which is full of bars and covered in graffiti. It's on the second floor and there are only stairs up; they look a beautiful marble but are v. slippery and cracked in some places - tricky with luggage, both me and my boyfriend slipped on them during our one-night stay. We had a polite and friendly welcome at reception, but our greeter spoke quite little English; we weren't given any recommendations on areas to visit or places to eat like the other reviews mention. Breakfast is also offered from a nearby cafe, not at the accommodation and only from 8am - no good for us as we had to leave at 07:30. Unsure how far the cafe is, the person who checked us in showed us a photo of the front and said 20 minutes but unsure if he meant 2 minutes or 20 meters. There was a small kitchenette area behind reception with two tables, but we weren't told whether we were allowed to use it or not. We were allocated room 1. It's a very small room but given we were there for one night, we didn't mind this. If you are staying any longer, I'd suggest requesting another room unless you're a solo traveller. The safe was locked and unusable (possible that the last guest either didn't leave it open or leave their personalized code? There is a note asking guests to do this). The room and bathroom were both clean but as soon as you used anything in the bathroom (tap/toilet/shower) they was an awful noise from the plumbing system, every 30 seconds or so. No idea what it was, sounded like something was going to come through the ceiling/up the plughole. We went out for a couple of hours (we found a bar 10/15 mins walk from the hotel which was SO nice, ‘Barrio Botanico’) and came back to the room at about 10:30pm. By this time the nearby bars had opened. The area was busy but not overcrowded and if we didn't have a flight the next morning, we could have probably had a good night there. However, the noise from the street in our room was very loud, to the point we were checking if our window was opened (it wasn't). We tried to watch something on Netflix but had to pause it at points for the noise coming in. There wasn't anyone on reception when we left in the morning and we weren't sure of the check-out procedure so just left the key on the front desk. It was a 20 min taxi back to the airport. All in all, the hotel did what it needed to do in the sense that it was a bed, shower and only a short drive to the airport. It was clean, the bed was comfy, it had a private en-suite and air conditioning. I would say it's the perfect location for backpackers (lots of cheap bars around) or solo travellers (small room)

      We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment with private terrace. The hotel is in a perfect location. Very near lots of sites, an easy walk to most places in Naples and easy access to the metro. Piazza Bellini is a fun place to be in the evenings with lots of bars and a great atmosphere. The apartment was spacious and there was plenty of room for 3 and having 2 bathrooms was a nice surprise. Terrace was good for relaxing after a long day sightseeing and for evening drinks. Staff were really friendly, hotel was very secure and the rooms were nice and quiet. It would have been nice if the apartment had been serviced at least once during our 5 night stay for clean towels etc and our son didn't think that the bed set up in the living area was very comfortable. Other than that a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely come here again if in Naples. Highly recommended.

Location was good for our needs and about 20 minutes in a taxi to the airport. It was also quiet inside despite it's city centre location. Located in a old palace with a portier and view on the Piazza Garibaldi just a few steps from the alibus stop and consequently from the central station, My spacious and clean room full of frigobar, cooler and safe box with good quality bedroom and a good bathroom of good size also provided with excellent fresh cut and fragrant hand towels. I haven't enjoyed breakfast included in the price because served after the time of my departure. Good clean parfum everywhere. very kind personal. I'll surely come back and advise to book without hesitation!

      Completely surpassed our expectations! We are used to also staying a lot in 5* hotels, but decided for something different while visiting Napoli. The hotel is located in the heart of the Spanish Quartier and therefore gives a totally different and more local experience compared to other hotels around. The entire staff is super nice and helped making our 3-night stay unforgettable. The little terrace, as part of the Junior Suite, gives the feeling of staying in a peaceful oasis in the middle of the chaos of Napoli. We even received our daily breakfast to our room! We were also really surprised by the shower: by far the best shower I’ve ever seen in a 3*, even 4* hotel!!! I never write reviews, but this one is worth it!

      Excellent location in the historic centre of Naples, just a few minutes walk from Dante Square and metro station, via dei tribunal and all its restaurants, via toledo and its shops and working a half hour walk from anywhere you'd want to visit. The hotel itself is tucked up a wee side street and is a gem. It's bright, modern, spacious and full of great staff. Our room was so big, we had a bed and a couch, tea making facilities, a wee outdoor seating area to ourselves and a very powerful shower. There's also a communal outdoor seating area, indoor areas with seats, books, boardgames and all nicely decorated. Breakfast was fantastic as were the staff on duty. There was plenty choice, meats, cheese, bread, fruit, cereal, salad, spreads, rustic pizza and the most amazing pastries. Plenty coffee and special coffees made to order. The hotel is very handy for public transport to airport and Pompeii or amalfi coast. Metro is across the road and five stops takes you to main train station at Piazza Garibaldi which is where the Alibus runs every 15 minutes to airport. As we were arriving late at night we booked the airport transfer provided by the hotel, this was a bit expensive as there is a surcharge after 9pm. We didn't fancy the taxi or hunting for bus stop in the dark so bit the bullet and went with the car. The driver wasn't there when we arrived but after contacting the hotel Marco turned up and had us at the hotel door in no time, in comfort, I'm glad he was joking about the VW Polo he initially led us to. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Brilliant location, staff and comfort. Loved it.

      It’s a very nice 4 star hotel in a 1 star area. We had a suite beautiful, nicely furnished , marble floors, all marble bathroom with a large soaking tub (not a whirlpool) large shower. A few things we do have to mention. There was no place to put your bags. I went to the front desk and asked for a luggage stand. I was told we don’t have any and then was told. Most guests us the armoire. Our armoire was not even deep enough for a hanger to hang perpendicular to the back and still be able to close the door. I don’t even think a carryon would fit it. He offered us some chairs. The room safe is ridiculously small and has a key. Still better after you lock your items in the safe you take the key and leave it at the desk. The rooftop was a very nice area, as pictured. The bartender, Mario was a great host. Breakfast was the usual Italian standard. Staff was overall nice. It is very convenient to the train station. Only about a 20 minute cab ride to the airport.

      I went from Naples to Rome to Florence to Milan. This hotel is the cheapest I have stayed, but the conditions are really not bad at all! The decoration is very new and super convenient. It is just opposite the train station and there is a lot of food near the downstairs. It is really a five-star praise. It is also convenient to go to the airport. There is a bus for 5 euros. You can reach the airport in less than ten minutes.

      It is an Italian house that is open opposite the train station and has 5 rooms. The location is very convenient, the price is relatively high, but the downstairs are black, relatively insecure. We live next door to black people. I am not a racist, but I still care. The landlord is very enthusiastic, maybe too enthusiastic, will open your door to clean up, although we clearly told him not to do so. I don't care, my wife is more afraid. In short, there are advantages and disadvantages. The man is alone, recommend living. Couple, forget it, take care of your lover's sense of security.

      If it had not been for the Taxi driver we would not have found the property, as its in an apartment/office block. The property name is on a plaque on the wall and you have to use an entry phone to gain access, walk through a court yard and go into the next building and the rooms are on the 6th floor. Unexpectly the lift is extremely small and very claustrophobic. I was not able to use the lift as I got so distressed in such a confined space and had to use the18 flights of stairs up and down to the sixth floor. The room and bathroom was well decorated, very clean and serviceable with a balcony overlooking the court yard. We were often woken up during the night by next door room using their toilet and shower. The first time it happened, because the noise was so loud, we thought someone had come into our room and was in our bathroom You could also hear the people upstairs moving around. There are no English programs on TV. The WIFI was very good. The breakfast was very basic water, fruit juice, tea, coffee, bread for toast, cerials, a prepack croissant jams and oranges. The location is excellent for the busses and port, Its just a short walk for ferry departure points for day trips to Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi or Ischia and the hop on hop off bus. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby

The breakfast is made up of a piece of cookie (variate to choose and rich) and a coffee in a cafe in the shopping gallery that is next to. I score it with four stars because no one told us that the time of arrival was to be exact because there is no one and we arrived an hour later than we had calculated because transport from Rome was delayed. The boy who received us was not a pleasant thing, he swiftly deployed us and didn't even leave us the card to be presented for breakfast and that delayed us the next day.

      This is a perfectly adequate two star hotel. It is a stretch, however, to call this place four stars, and doing so reflects poorly in the Italian hotel industry FOOD Breakfast is offered in the lounge area next to reception. There is also a bar area. There is no restaurant, and no room service. Our room did not have mini bar, though they did provide water. ROOM Rooms are stark, sp****ly decorated. No artwork. Tile floors which perhaps help to keep the place cool in summer but in winter make the place feel cold. Rooms are quite small, with no closet or drawers, just a coat rack and a luggage rack and a small desk. Walls are thin and and we could easily hear anyone in the hallway. There is also no coffee maker in the room, which allows the hotel to charge for coffee in the bar. AMENITIES No upholstered chair/couch with side table No place to sit other than the bed Wall mounted TV is small. Internet was less than fully functional. We experienced an internet outage in our room that lasted longer than a day. Heat controls were difficult to understand . PUBLIC AREAS There is a single rickety elevator that can hold a maximum of four people that transports you up to the reception on the third floor. The reception area had a single chair, awkwardly positioned on the staff side of the desk. There was a lounge next to it however with seating. Public areas are cold, because the windows in the public areas either left open or do not close properly. These window in public success appear to be original from when the building was constructed some hundred or more years ago. SERVICE No manager on duty available in the evening or during the day. The receptionist was unable to escalate issues to management, who the receptionist said was out of the country. Staff was generally less helpful than I would have expected for a four star hotel. Receptionist would not even tell me their name. SUMMARY On this trip, I have stayed in three other properties in each of Genova, Torino, and Milano. Each was considerably less expensive and much nicer than the Metro900, which I would not stay at again in the future, no matter what the price. Calling this place four stars is plainly inaccurate. It is nicely painted though sp****ly decorated, and by most other criteria would be categorized as two stars, not four. This inflationary practice reflects poorly on Napoli and the Italian hotel industry. It also reflects poorly on Expedia, which seems to not validate the star ratings on it site. Maybe in Italy, the definition of four stars is so flexible as to allow a place like this to call itself four stars, but that is really why internet based review systems exist.

      Our room was clean on the top floor with AC (that ran only while you are in the room, because you have to use the card for power) and a safe. The front desk girl was helpful and welcoming. The stairs are pretty steep and narrow, so carrying the luggage wasn't easy. For us being there for one night it was enough. We had a good breakfast in the morning and the location is amazing.       There is no parking lot in the hotel itself, but there is a parking lot next to the hotel. There is an unlimited number of entrances and exits of 40 Euros a day, and the keys are handed over to the parking lot. The hotel is on the dockside, there are many restaurants around, and there are also Chinese restaurants, all within 100 meters. Can trampoline 25 euros, breakfast variety is not much, but the food is very good, the restaurant faces the egg castle and the sea, feels good, the waiter is polite

      La Controra is good overall - I stayed for 4D 3N in a double room with an en-suite and I'd certainly stay here again, but there are some points for improvement. POSITIVE good price - very reasonable. Breakfast included - it was basic (toast, cereal, fruit etc) but a good start to the morning. Friendly, positive staff and hospitable atmosphere. Intersting location - it's a shame you aren't able to have a nose around the abandoned church next to the hostel! WORK ON POINTS The bathroom mirror/light setup wasn't great. The mirror appears designed to prevent light from shining on your face as it has a wooden border which obstructs the light. The towels provided were very small - it's a good thing I always bring my own! Could definitely do with some bigger ones. The shower head was ever so slightly too short. I'm 6 ft 2, and the shower head appeared to be exactly 6ft 2 off the floor, so not well situated for the taller person!

      For a 4-night holiday with a friend I chose this structure based on the excellent reviews I had read. We were very good: strategic location, large room and functional arrangement. New building in historic palace with a face halfway Chiaia. To make all this kindness, sympathy and willingness of Joseph that makes you feel at your home, and to summarize judgement more than excellent and far beyond expectations, to return and to advise knowing not to be wrong. We also met Enzo the owner: he too is very friendly and sympathetic as only Napoletanos know.

      Before you read my comment you need to understand that I have stayed in many hotels all over the world from very luxury to very poor ones. The hotel culture in Italy isn't good in my point of view. Usually you get less for you money. I can not say that our stay was unpleasant as we stayed for 5 days. The hotel has the basics, is clean, the personal are friendly, but sometimes stubborn, the breakfast is good especially for a folk that does not have breakfast at all in their culture, but it's every day the same so not variation in the breakfast. The rooms are small, we booked superior room with kingsize bed. Well believe me the room wasn't ”superior” and the bed wasn't kingsize at all. You will read that many people, including myself, are negative about the neighborhoud. This is true, you need to realize that you are staying in a poor part of Napoli and a lot of immigrantes are hanging all day long in front of the hotel, smoking ****. As long as you stay on the main streets till the Centrale Station nothing will happen. At least nothing did happen to us. But yes the street view is not qualitative. The immigrants didn't spoke to us, didn't intimidate us, unlike in Paris were it can get ugly...

      Hotel is on the 1st floor, after getting up the stairs the welcome was friendly and was told about the hotel. We were offered pastries which was a nice touch. Luggage was taken to the room, which was bright and airy decorated nicely. Downside was shower, it was tiny even for me. My husband really struggled. Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was good. Breakfast was not the best far to many sweet things. This was explained at check in. The room is not big enough if there are lots of people, but you can sit outside. Ordering coffee was simple, asking for hot water and milk for tea was a bit harder. The location is lovely, just a few steps to walk along the sea front with places to eat.

      I was nervous that this wouldn't be a good experience. La Ciliegina hotel is located steps away from the Piazza Municipio and is a five-minute walk to the port. It is centrally located, being only two minutes from Via Toledo. Despite the bustle below, the room was deathly quiet and about as beautiful as you can expect in the heart of the city! La Ciliegina's entrance is a little tucked away and you take an elevator up to the lobby (a new experience for me, but the other hotel in Naples was the same). From that point, they deliver on everything promised: it is impeccably clean, modern, and comfortable. Although we had great weather, we didn't get the chance to spend much time on the terrace, but it was a nice touch. If you are looking for a hotel with a central location and easy access to transit options, this is your place. Recommended!

      Naples is the only city with high-rises on my trip to Italy. This Renaissance location is not bad. The subway is very close. It is also close to Newcastle, the town hall, and the port. There are several steps at the entrance of the hotel, there is no barrier-free access, and heavy boxes are more painful. Of course, if there is staff, they will help, but not always ... The breakfast environment of the hotel is good, overlooking Mount Vesuvius and the Mediterranean Sea. The variety is not particularly large but it is enough. There is an automatic muffin making, which looks very fun. The facilities of this hotel are slightly old and the bathroom has cracks, which is not comparable to that of a Mercure in Palermo. And the hotel does not provide bottled water, of course, there is a supermarket diagonally opposite, and shopping is very convenient.
