0.83km from Mister KartoshkaI spent two nights at this hotel. For the money paid and with this location I’d say it was a really good deal. Kurskaya subway station is less than 10 minutes walk, and if you feel like being slightly more active, you can walk towards Kitay-Gorod and further to the city centre just taking the Pokrovka street to the right from the hotel. There are plenty of small cafes and restaurants around, plus Atrium shopping centre that has a supermarket. It looks like it is usual apartment inside a block house that has been transformed into somewhat of a hotel, the rooms are tiny, and the walls between them are mostly for visibility, as you hear everything happening behind them. I was unfortunate to get a room next to a snoring guy for both nights, plus it was located right next to the kitchen counter and toilets, so there constantly was someone outside there and it was very noisy, people cooking food at 1:30 am, although it was supposed to be quiet from 23 to 7 as I was informed by the girl at the reception. I liked that I could have a private room and could lock some of my things there, but apart from that it felt like I am in one room with many different people. There are only two toilets and one shower by the way, but it hasn’t been a problem in terms of business, and they seemed clean. I would recommend this hotel over a hostel, for its cheap price and great location, but I wouldn’t recommend it for light sleepers, for me the sleeping part was torture there.
