This is by far the best holiday home we have ever stayed. We were a group of 20 people and accommodated all the 5 rooms(2 ground floor, 2 first floor and one at the top) The rooms are spacious enough and easily pack 5 people with no issues at all. The room has one queen bed and a sofa come bed. This home is located in the midst of a forest like atmosphere. It's a very private place. To talk about Livingston (Owner of this place) He is one of the finest and kind gentlemen. He is like one *** army, he does all the job by himself and organize things very promptly, very proactive, and he is a *** of action. He is living with his family next to the homestay. Best service ever. Don't you ever forget to try their home food, it was a buffet arrangement and all the dishes are very tasty. The dishes were prepared by his wife. This is not really a con, but the road to this location is a tad bit narrow but the stretch is quite small so it is ***ageable considering the privacy and service. But you can walk to the main town and bus stand within a minutes (less than 5 minutes actually) He had provided two big tower speakers for music and arranged a camp fire which lasted about 4hrs. Stay: 9/10 Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Bonfire: 10/10 Music system: 10/10 Location: 10/10 Reach: 7/10 Go visit the place and occupy the entire house if possible, you will surely enjoy the food and camp fire. Hope this review helps.

We were trying a home stay for the first time. But it is best to experience Wayanad in monsoons if you stay in midst of nature. The place is quaint. Little difficult to locate and strictly for those who have their own vehicle. It is deep inside the forest and approach road of around 1km is not good. But it was all worth taking the pain. The beautifully decorated Kerala house will amaze you with its charm. Rooms were big and absolutely clean. Our room had AC but it was never too be used. It was raining outside for entire night. They have warm water but it takes a little while for the water to reach the tap since it comes from some centrally located geyser. They have options for yoga and Ayurvedic massages at the mornings. Complimentary Breakfast was decent and timely. For lunch or dinner, they have a good menu but you have to let them know hours before that you’ll be taking food, then only they’re going to arrange it. It’s a homely kitchen, not a restaurant. It has books to read, carrom and chess boards to play and music systems which probably used for yoga activities. But when you are close to nature enjoy the natural sounds of the jungle. We were enjoying the rains outside. Will highly recommend this place if you want to have a peaceful weekend getaway.

Soorya Castle is located on the main road to Kalpetta town. It is an ideal location in the sense that it is on the highway and yet not in the town. It is surrounded by greenery and mountains in the distance. The hotel is renovated and reopened over a year at the time of writing this review. It is a clean hotel. The rooms are very clean and as per the photos in the hotels website. Each room comes with air conditioning , fan , tv and kettle with free coffee or tea. The rest rooms are clean and have no tubs but designated area for taking a bath. Hot water is available 24 hours. The staff though limited in number right now are very courteous. There is no laundry service at the hotel and this I hope will change in the near future. The hallways and elevators and corridors are clear and wide. The price for the room is unbeatable compared to rooms in similar categories in other towns in the state. The food lounge is limited in what they serve but covers local, continental, Arabic and Chinese cuisines. Limitations on choice exists and morning breakfasts are served only after 7.30 which makes it challenging for early risers and those who have to go early. Will I recommend this hotel?- Yes . Its price and cleanliness is worth noting. The ***ager Mr.Noushad is extremely friendly and goes out of his way to help tourists. But keep in mind except for lack of laundry and restaurant timings, I cannot find any fault at all for this hotel.

green gates is located conveniently at kalpetta not far from the highway, but still with a privacy..not with much view, but has tried to make a greenery image bt itself..the cottages are made in a small rain forest set up..i had taken a so called luxury room, though there was no much luxury in it, but the room was ok. sajeesh, the operations head, satheesh, the marketing ***ager are both very professional and are very good at their job. both are very customer friendly and with a very positive attitude..the breakfast could be really better as per the standards of competitors..the food quality should be really looked into by the fand b ***ager.. over all it was a good experience considering the fact that the team did well to give service within the limitations

It started when we departed from bangalore to reach the resort. After a couple of hours while we were on the way, we received a call from the resort if we would like to have our lunch there or somewhere on the way. Though there is a business perspective to it, we liked the care taken by them. We asked for the food to be ready when we reach the resort. My booking online was not clear if it is an air conditioned room. I have requested for one after I reached there as the climate was not found very pleasant in the afternoon and have a kid with me. They accommodated us as requested. I was not aware of the wooden houses down in the planation and was surprised when I took a walk. Probably the climate there should be okay and cozy but I was not told about that in the reception. The menu everytime was limited to certain dishes and the kitchen was not ready for a full menu order. The food was delivered without any hesitation to room upon request. Not sure if that would be same if one is in wooden house down in plantation with stairs. Food was not great but was ok for a 2 day visit. We have not expected for delicious food and hence were not dissapointed. The dining area doea not have great ambience but again not something we seriously expected for the price we paid. There also is not much staff or hot food vessels maintained in the dining area to take care of the guests. Upon enquiry, we were given a map having places to visit around and some suggestions on how to plan. We finally forgot our plush blanket and the staff helped us by shipping it to our address. Overall, do not expect a hifi cozy place but a care taking place right in the plantation.

Highly recommend staying at Woodrose resort - Amazing hospitality + private cottages with picturesque views + brilliant location 1. Amazing Hospitality: Caretaker Thomas looked after all our needs with utmost sincerity.(His eyes would go completely round even at the minutest of complaints; e.g. can you get fresh towels, and he would immediately rush to make sure that the issue was addressed). My parents do not eat garlic,non-veg, and cannot eat spicy food. He made sure to ensure that food served met our request for all the 4 nights of our stay without having to be reminded. Staff went over and beyond to ensure other requests - early breakfast.dinner, check-out, laundry etc. were met. They made us feel completely at home 2. Beautiful private cottages, all facing Chembra peak (2nd highest in Kerala): All cottages are private with balconies facing Chembra peak. Best way to unwind is to sit in the comfotable bamboo chairs provided, and watch the sunset and sunrise over Chembra peak 3. Brilliant Location: Resort is in Kalpetta, which is centrally located like Vythiri, but far far less commercial. Good location as tourist spots in Wayanad are spread out. 4. Good facilites: Very kid friendly (bunk beds, jungle gym),pool, cycling, badminton court), good canteen

Let me start of by saying the rooms are really spacious and clean. Our toilet had some flushing issues occasionally but nothing to be of real issue. But they lie in their advertising on here as well on Booking and this is something we were really pissed about. There is no shared kitchen, or at least: there is a kitchen but you can use it to boil water for tea - nothing else. There are no utensils, pans, cutting boards etc. They even tell you you can just boil tea and that’s it. Now, that’s not really a shared kitchen, is it? Also, the kitchen was quite dirty with ants, flies and rust. Besides the (non-existent) kitchen they also don’t have a spa and wellness center. No beauty salon, hair dresser, massage or entertainment personnel of any kind. The kid actually looked confused when we mentioned it. For WiFi we got a portable thing-y but everytime the receptionist needed internet he wanted us to bring it down so he could use it to get online. Ummm ok. That’s not how free WiFi works and they’re making it our problem that they do offer it but don’t have the service to back it up. Breakfast was okay-ish. Just toast/jam/butter (or Indian breakfast) and some fruit. I’d advise staff to waste less butter (waaaayyyy too much) and use it to buy a carton of Tropicana or Maaza. Some juice in the morning instead of bottled water (only option) would be great :). I’m sure there are other things in the ad that are blatant lies but we stayed only one night and booked a different place for the second and third night.
