Excellent, easy checkin and out and comfortable. Room clean, bathroom clean water hot, fridge worked, AC worked fine and was quiet. Enjoyed the TV line up, my favorite channels available. The only comment is the electric outlet in lamp was well worn . Update lamp to have a USB port would be nice.

There was NOTHING - ZERO - ZILCH!!!!! To like about this property to even find it acceptable. This place was a completely ghetto dump, no better than section 8 projects in the slums in a poor neighborhood. It was completely and utterly abysmal. There were holes in the walls that were patched by a blind man and never painted, the floors felt like they were mopped with vegetable oil, NOTHING in the place was plugged in, there main sink was filled with hair and chunks of food, the shower was disgusting and had black hairs all through it, when arriving back from being out for the day, our door wouldn’t open with the key cards, which terrified our young daughter that all of our stuff was trapped in there indefinitely and scared her to tears that we wouldn’t get it back, we asked for extra towels and was told by housekeeping that we can only have extra if we’re staying weekly and then claimed she didn’t have any anyway, garbage and bags full of belongings from people being evicted thrown all around, noise nightly from the ghetto people staying in this dump, I could go on and on... PLEASE don’t stay here. Spend the extra money to get something better, PLEASE!! It was so bad that I really couldn’t even put it into words no matter how much I went on and on. Consider yourself warned.

I had a 3 night stay this past week. I was traveling for work visiting our office locations in Hampton and Norfolk. The hotel is modern and the lobby area is well maintained. Front Desk Reception was nice. I had a King room on the second floor. The room was spacious enough for me and the desk was big enough for me to complete work. Also the chair to the desk was comfortable. That is important!!! The bathroom was very spacious, but the toilet tissue is a little far from the toilet. It's a long reach. I though that was odd. The shower was a little loud, but not unbearable. Breakfast in the morning was decent. There was always some sausage, eggs, and a rotation of grits and home fries. Waffles are also available along with yogurt, danishes, muffins and fresh fruit. There is something to satisfy everyone. The hotel is in an ideal location with restaurants and shopping near by. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely a disgusting place to stay!! It should be shut down for health reasons. Everything in the room was broken. Toilet had to be fixed upon check in. The bed sheets had burn holes in them and the management was disrespectful and uncooperative. Do Not stay here!!

Have stayed hear several (maybe 6-7) times when I make trips to Hampton, and have always been satisfied. Very comfortable rooms, and the bar/restaurant amenities are perfect for my travels. The hotel is convenient to much of the Virginia Peninsula, and I've always had a comfortable night there. No hassles.

We (hubby, me and 10yo daughter) just stayed here and loved it! We were on the 3rd floor with a king bed and pull out sofa. Our room and common areas were very clean and well appointed. The bed was super comfy and even the sofa bed was still in good shape and comfortable as far as sofa beds go. The hotel is a year old and connected to shops. Very nice and convenient! Our only dislikes were that housekeeping was very loud on our first morning banging on doors as they yelled “housekeeping!!” Also, we booked through the Bonvoy app and chose the rate which included a $20 daily food and bev credit. Unfortunately the only place to purchase either was in the snack area by the front desk and it was not well stocked. We were forced to just buy anything as we checked out or forfeit $25 in unused credit. We won’t select that option again. Despite those 2 hiccups we truly had a great and comfortable stay and would easily choose this as our preferred hotel while in town visiting our daughter and son-in-law.

I travel a lot for work and have spent many nights in some not so pleasant hotels, but this place has to be the best place to stay in Hampton. Of course it is beyond clean and cozy, but the highlight has to be the front desk staff. Rod, Dani, Precious and literally everyone I have met, even down to the housekeeping and maintenance staff, has been beyond phenomenal. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy with your stay and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Any place where I can walk through the front door and get greeted by name is exceptional. You won’t be sorry to have chosen to stay here!

Worked 52hours in 3 days ,got less than 10 hrs sleep, preparing businesses for the hurricane up the east coast from Tennessee to Virginia. We arrived at the Holiday Inn Express about 3pm hadn't slept but about 3 hours this night before, working in rain and wind we were soaked tired frustrated and far from comforts of home..... Got in our room and the fridge had been unplugged, I didn't close the shower curtain when I turned the shower on and water went in the floor...u can imagine after all we'd been thru ,on top of all the work and lack of sleep there were wrong turns back tracking & sand in our eyes .... I rang the front desk, oh I was frustrated!! The lady at the front desk was so sweet I was immeadiatly helped and with a quickness u only get from ppl who actually care about you,I was not only immeadiatly moved to a room with a plugged up cold fridge, also she sent up a guy with a new room card and helped us get to the new room, as we were surprised by the special care and hospitality we were greeted with,we tried explaining what we'd been thru and sorry to make a fuss ,the gentleman laughed a bit and somehow that reveiled the funny side of it , he quickly said he's not laughing at us but oh my what crazy few days.... I want to say thank you to them, however by the time I woke up it was middle of the night and these 2 employees were off duty ,I don't know their names I was so tired I didn't pay attention.... I can't thank them and this hotel enough for not only being hospitable friendly and eager to get it done , but also for the change in perspective and helping us laugh something that hadn't been heard in days.... I got a good hot shower,in a very clean bathroom, had an ice cold beverage in the fridge and in a much better mood before I fell asleep.... Thank You to the most awesome employees you'll ever be served by.wish all the places I have to stay had the same ethics and " bedside manner" I will stay at the Big H every time from now on...the Marriott wasn't this awesome, but chrge 2xs as much. My family travelled to Hampton for a weekend baseball showcase. We typically only stay in Marriotts and are usually quite faithful to the brand. This time, however, we could not find one with a decent review. Given covid, it is important to us to find a hotel that is clean and the proper disinfecting precautions have been taken. I was worried when I made the reservation and noticed that they have smoking rooms as I don't care for the smell of smoke. We were pleasantly surprised as we could not smell smoke at all. Also our room was very clean. I've been travelling with my son's all summer long for baseball staying in one hotel after another. I always bring cleaning supplies with me and clean the room before we settle in. Usually I find the room was not as clean as it could be, but this was not the case with our room at the Hampton Inn. It was spotless. I like that they put a sticker on the door after the room has been cleaned and they also clean the remote and put it in a special box. This hotel is very convenient to many restaurants and also to the local baseball fields. We were very happy with our stay.

I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt, no complaints! The people were friendly and understanding especially during COVID19. The minimized contact while making me feel welcomed. I would book again, however my only complaint is the beds are hard. I woke up with a sore back, other than that good place to stay!

My wife and I came to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival and chose the Hilton Convention Center Hotel because of it's adjacent location. We were absolutely delighted to have chosen the hotel. The suites were fantastic, very clean, comfortable and quiet. The service was fantastic. The complimentary services provided were outstanding as was the check in process, and all who offered help. This is definitely the place to stay when coming to the Quilt Show.

I visited the Candlewood Suites in Hampton, VA for work for a few days in November 2019. I was SO GLAD to have made a reservation there as friends told me about it. I stayed when Virginia had rain all day which turned into snow by the afternoon! It was an unexpected winter storm! Kaylee Gallant was the Hotel Manager. She greeted me when I arrived. I had made my reservation with her as well. She was so positive, welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. She made an outstanding first impression. Then when I went to my room, I was very very pleased. The room was sparkling clean - which I have NEVER seen in a hotel in over 20 years. Really. Then the thermostat was set to be so easy to use - you just digitally select the temperature you would like, and the thermostat functions to attain AND MAINTAIN that temperature. It is just that easy. I was able to set it to 70 as it was SNOWING AND FREEZING by the time I got there, and I never had to touch it again! I was all warm and happy in my room. Kaylee then recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant, Anthony's, and I was stunned when they delivered the world's best PIZZA I have ever had. REALLY. It had this actual thing called CRUST. Baked fresh in their oven. Even in the midst of miserable weather, the delivery man had to return because he forgot my salad dressing - which I appreciated since I had none and did not wish to try to drive and buy some in a city I wasn't familiar with in freezing weather. He had a great attitude and didn't mind at all! This is the place you want to order from - great food and EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Back to the hotel: the room was so clean and perfect to work in since it had a large desk which I needed. It also had a nice-sized refrigerator so I could store lots of water bottles - and the pizza leftovers. I was so impressed with how quiet it was on the third floor too. It is a pet-friendly place, but I didn't hear any dogs barking, etc. The bed was divine. It had a thick and comfortable mattress, with very clean and soft sheets and pillows and linens. That was so appreciated on a frosty night! The TV was wall-mounted and made it easy to watch the news and weather from the desk where I was working. The shower was the best - it had strong water pressure and was nice and hot. PLUS THIS HOTEL HAD SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, AND BODY WASH SOAP in three large bottles in the shower! That was something I have never seen in a hotel! Not little bottles, but large bottles that you would have at home, and very good quality products. That was so convenient and they were wall-mounted too. I also talked to Chris at the front desk, and he shared with me how HE LOVED HIS JOB and how CANDLEWOOD treats employees, he said. How nice to see happy employees! I also praised the Housekeeping Manager because she sets the tone for how clean the hotel is and how well that is maintained. Kaylee brought me extra towels when I thought I'd have to stay

The room was very clean. The bedsheets are crispy clean. The bed, the pillows, the blankets were so comfortable, just didn't want to get up in the morning. The towels were crispy clean too and the room generally was clean. The hotel was renovated a short time ago, one could still smell the fresh paint. Interesting that there are no carpets in the rooms, but laminates that are easier to keep clean and are better for those who have allergies. The room is well equipped with basic necessities, such as TV, armchair, lamps, wifi... There is a coffee machine in the room, a fridge and ice-bucket with glasses. There is a fitness room in the hotel, which is big enough if somebody wants to work out. There is also a washmachine and a dryer (or maybe two) if one would like to do a wash. These are using quarters and it costs 2 USD for a load. The hotel also has an outside swimming pool, which was closed at the time of our visit in December. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is an outside mall just a few minutes away from the hotel (one can even walk there in 5-10 minutes) and lots of restaurants and shopping possibilities. Virginia Beach is only 30 minutes away. The only thing that the hotel could/should improve is their breakfast. One can find something to eat, but not the best. The fruits and yogurts are good. There are pastries offered too and you like it if you have a sweet tooth. The waffle should be tastier, etc. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available all day long, which is nice. One tip: there is soap in the bathroom at the sink and in the shower, so if you like softsoap and shower gel more, bring your own. Shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided in the usual small bottles.

This is our "HOME AWAY FROM HOME". We have been coming since we met to get away from everyday living. The management and staffing has been nothing but kind and courteous. The breakfast is delicious with real I ingredients. Let's not even talk about those fresh baked cookies. My husband looks forward to those things. Although COVID 19 has everone and everything moving carefully, so is Country Inn Suites. Hats off to the manager and staff. We thank you for still being our HOME AWAY FROM HOME".

I stayed here one night. This placed received several bad reviews years ago. Overall Hampton has improved. The room was clean. I could tell they cleaned the room. But the linen was old. The bed spread had holes in it from what looked to be old cigarette burns. The room had a very faint order of cigarette smoke. If you are sensitive to that it may bother you. To me it seemed like they try to keep the room smoke free but the room still has a faint smell. The bathroom was clean. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. Both clean. Also a decent TV with cable. The bed was comfortable and clean but again. The sheets looked old. This hotel needs to invest in new linen, blankets and sheets. They should also replace the carpets. This hotel could use some TLC. I paid 69$ tax included. I feel like the price for the room should have been like 45$ or 50$. It was a quiet hotel and right next to the base gate so things seemed very quiet and peaceful. The door jam screws were loose. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. This is a two star hotel that could be a 3 star if they invest in improvements. I didn’t see any breakfast offered or coffee. The coffee maker in the room came with one free coffee but I did not use it. I think this is a safe place to stay. It’s just old and perhaps family owned and operated making me think they are trying to make things last longer than what is reasonably expected.
