We stayed for 4 nights as a gang of 24 on a stag weekend which served its purpose. Not somewhere to take the other half away to. It is totally basic but that said the room on arrival was clean with comfy bed and a decent shower, there was a breakfast of sorts included and also wi-fi. The location was great for a number of Berlin's main attractions.

I stayed one night at the Quentin XL during a business trip in November. The hotel looks good from the outside and the interior is modern and fancy. However...during check in I got a keycard to room 126. I had 30 minutes to prepare for a dinner with business colleagues. Went upstairs...card didn’t work so I went down again. Man in reception gave me new card without apology. I went up again....same story. Down again, no apology, up again and now with the staff member...did not work. Down again! At this point, when he was planning the fourth trip up stairs I lost my patience and demanded a new room. I got a new room but after this negative check-in experience I was not satisfied. Needless to say I was late for my dinner.

I was staying at the hotel for a 2 day spiritual course and had requested late check out yesterday. They charge €10/hour after the regular checkout time of 12noon but they had asked me to get the room key re-validated as it wouldnt work after 12noon. There was a break in my programme and as it was around 12:10pm I went to the front desk to get the key revalidated. There were 2 queues with about 5-6 people each. And everyone was standing in an orderly fashion while the 2 check out staff were helping everyone. I waited for quite a few minutes and although I was late for my session I just decided to finish the task as I was next in line. When I got up to the counter, a couple came on the other side, and started talking to the staff in German and I noticed were being helped by him. I politely told them that there was a line and that everyone had been waiting patiently for their turn. Much to my surprise, he shouted back very rudely - "NO I dont' (have to stand in line) as I have paid 3 times as much as you!". I was really taken aback and reminded him that this had nothing to do with what category of room one was staying in or how much a customer was paying. He once again yelled back and I realised this person is probably ranting at me from a very racist perspective as I was clearly dressed as an Asian and he must have felt that I didnt deserve the same service as him. But what was even sadder was that the hotel attendant did not bother to intervene and instead continued to serve him. Not just that, but after he had finished with this couple he helped another woman who also came in from the side and was speaking in German. I told him later that this service was very poor and he just looked at me and said he was trying to serve everyone. I reminded him that there were ropes put in place to clearly demarcate the lines and these people were standing in neither and were instead on the corner. He refused to acknowledge that what he had done was wrong and was very dismissive. I told him that the hotel should not bother hosting conferences/courses, if they were going to treat the participants as lesser customers than the regular hotel guests. It was very apparent that the German customers were getting preferential treatment and it was very clear that this particular hotel attendant had very racist prejudices with which he treated me. I should have taken his name down but at that time I was incredibly upset and shaken up and was also late for my course. When I finally checked out 2 hours later, he wasnt at the desk but I asked the friendly young woman and she said that he was her boss, Mr Weidermeir (? - sorry probably got this a bit wrong). I was truly shocked that the manager of the check in area, who usually should be the warmest as they have to greet customers, turned out to be so rude. I would never stay in this hotel again!

I used this hotel during my business visit to Berlin. I like to use B&B hotels as they are always the same: clean and predictably comfortable. I skipped their breakfast offer as I always eat out when in Berlin, but I am sure it is the top quality as everything else.

We booked 2 Grand Club rooms for our stay for a break in Berlin which we are enjoying at present. The hotel is splendid and we found it to be handling COVID-19 regulations perfectly. The swimming pool and spa are open but limited to a certain amount of people at a time, therefore you have to book your slot if you want to enjoy the facilities. There is an outdoor sun terrace which is also very nice but could do with a few more shades just now. Having Grand Club facilities is excellent value for as there is a short time in the afternoon where you can enjoy coffee and cake and in the evening there is cocktail hour from 6-8pm where a chef cooks mall snacks and you can enjoy a wine or beer. Breakfast is served in Vox restaurant which has great choices with all the staff doing so well to serve you in such difficult circumstances The highlight of our stay has been the staff in the Grand Club. Cordelia, the delightful lady in charge, as well as Marie, Antonie and the rest of the staff have served with great professionalism every evening looking after our needs all extremely well. Thank you girls👌 Our rooms were perfect with everything required for our stay. Housekeeping is every 3 days but it can be requested at intervals of your choice. The rooms were cleaned to an exemplary standard with delightful toiletries and amenities including free bottled water. The hotel is in the centre of the city with great transport options all around. All in all we have found The Grand Hyatt to be perfect in every way, location, rooms are great and the staff are the ones who have made our stay fantastic so far in such difficult times. Thanks

My partner and I stayed here for two nights to explore Berlin, picking the hotel for it's quirky decor and theme and definitely weren't disappointed! All the rooms and public areas are winningly/tasefully decorating with fairytale stories giving an interesting edge to an efficient, clean and polished hotel. The staff are very friendly and efficient - even gifting us a small bottle of fizzy wine for International Women's Day! The rooms are spacious and clean, and the communal areas bright and inviting. There is a well equipped fitness centre overlooking the city on the 7th floor, and a buffet style breakfast with a huge range of hot and cold options available (I would massively recommend the cake!) Location wise, it's proximity to the metro/walking distance to all the sites makes it a perfect location for siteseeing. Would 100% recommend as a perfect base from which to explore Berlin.

We have just returned from a week in Berlin and I’m so pleased we chose arabel design apartments to host us! We come from Manchester, UK and I did a lot of research before we went- this place ticked all the boxes! We stayed in the biggest apartment as there was 9 of us and it was spacious enough to accommodate us all very comfortably! The apartment itself was very clean which I was grateful for as we were there with my baby who puts everything in her mouth at the moment! We also had three children and there was plenty of space for them to run around! Housekeeping did a wonderful job on a daily basis! The decor was tasteful oozed sophistication with luxury furniture, fixtures and fittings. The bathrooms were amazing with a lovely free standing bath! The location was perfect as it was not noisy which was surprising given that we were in the city centre! There is a lovely sushi restaurant next door and an array of restaurants and bars on the road! It was easy to walk to all the site seeing attractions. We went to Brandenburg gate, the parliament building (I can’t remember the name now!), the memorial gardens, check point Charlie, the flee market where you can sing karaoke outside (!!!) and the zoo amongst other places. There is so much history to be seen in Berlin! We also went to tropical islands which we hired a car for which is brilliant for kids and adults alike and we all visited Finnegans Irish pub which was just a short taxi ride away -we really enjoyed a bit of the good old Irish craic there! The reception staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly and it was easy to check in and out. I would say it was very reasonably price for a city break and I would definitely love to return. I would 100% recommend this hotel - it was beautiful and we all had an amazing holiday here!

The room was a lot bigger than we expected, and had a lot more than we needed. It has everything you need especially for those that are self-catering. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the hotel were happy to provide us with more coffee pods when we ran out. Even though it's a hotel, you still feel as though you are in private accommodation with the reassurance that reception are there to help if you need anything. There was something very comfortable and homely about the apartment, and having Netflix was an added bonus! It is very close to public transport as well as within walking to distance (if you enjoy walking) to the main attractions. We had a room with a balcony, and even with the window/door open it was very quiet given that it close to the centre.

The hotel is just off the U-Bahnhof Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park underground station, less than 5 mins walk and more or less within the same complex. Berlin Potsdamer Platz Bahnhof is not the nearest underground station, it is a 10+ mins walk. It is a very modern establishment but it has a wealth of charm and staff are courteous, enthusiastic and helpful. The bar/restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and breakfast offers a range of choices. We ate at the hotel a couple of nights out of 4 and weren't disappointed but if you fancy something different then head to the Vietbowl restaurant on Marlene Dietrich Platz, an 8 mins walk, it was a great discovery...not your typical à la carte but amazing food at reasonable prices. We went to Berlin for a Christmas break and unlike in London, quite a few places were open on Christmas day, including some Christmas markets. The only disappointment was that Berlin wasn't as historic as we expected, in fact it is a very modern city but it is understandable knowing that they've had to virtually rebuild themselves since WWII. Berlin Tegel Airport is a huge of a disappointment, especially if you've ever been to Frankfurt or Munich airports.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of October. On arrival we waited for about 5 minutes at the reception until they even acknowledged we were waiting, no hello or anything. During our 3 night stay we only got one welcome, which isn’t good customer service. When receiving room cards there was no number on it or a card to tell us what number it was, we just had to make sure we heard them correct. The bedroom was a good size with a good bathroom and plenty of storage space. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, it was hard and there was one measly pillow when asked at reception if we could get more we were instantly told no, in that case they need to buy new pillows that are substantial or have spares. During the night there was often loud noises out on the street which was a little frustrating but couldn’t be helped. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. There was also a stand with information leaflet of what to do around the city. After the overall service I don’t think I will be returning to this hotel.

The location is ideal: - about €25-30 from Tegel - bus stop right outside the hotel - subway only a minute walk away - places to eat and drink on its doorstep, including a little outdoor food market - 10 mins walk to the Brandenburg Gate - supermarket near by Room: - we had a slightly larger suite on the 8th floor and it was lovely; very spacious with a settee and walk in wardrobe - great size bathroom - kitchenette with fridge was a godsend - the only improvements would be there was no furniture on the balcony (that might have been due to the time of year) and more than 2 cups in the kitchen - there is no USB charger so make sure you take your plugs! Hotel: - excellent service, all staff were lovely and very helpful, including providing a map on arrival and telling us how to get around - covid secure, with plenty of hand sanitiser as you entered the hotel and left lifts - we purchased our transport tickets at the desk, which was really helpful as it meant we could hop on a bus right outside - great options such as the extensive pillow menu - really easy to ask for top-ups of tea, milk etc We did not try the restaurant or bar. We would definitely recommend staying here, and would not hesitate to stay here again if we returned to Berlin.

I didn't plan to stay at this hotel when I scheduled my trip to Berlin for a conference. However when I arrived in Berlin and my airbnb was a let down, I was able to stay at this lovely hotel. The reception staff stayed at the desk longer, in order to allow me entry to the hotel late at night (around 10.40pm). The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. For the price and the location (about 15-20min walk to Potsdamer Platz) it is an absolute gem. When I return to Berlin, I intend to book this hotel for my stay. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious in a lovely room that is on the east side, so it gets the sun. Though it was too cold to sit outside, there is a little terrace just outside that can be used in the summer. The rooms are spacious and clean. I didn't have any other meals here, but I feel that the general standard of this hotel is very high. I would say ideal for families, as it is just across from a park. There are currently some building works going on across the road, but I didn't hear these or was disturbed by them at all. There is also a train-line nearby, but again I think the windows are quite well insulated.

Tiergarten
Breakfast is okay, but it is still more monotonous than the domestic hotel. The location is very good, the entrance is the Potsdamer Platz, there is also a subway station, the Brandenburg Gate, the Parliament Building, the Berlin Shopping Center are very close, and there is a Mobai at the door, very convenient. There are also other companies sharing bicycles with children's seats, but the QR code can't be scanned. I don't know how to use them, but the hotel has a bicycle with a child seat for rent, 30 euros a day, 15 euros a day. To the northwest of the hotel is a large Tiergarten park, which is in a good environment with trees, grass and water.

Stayed here back in December last year, for a long weekend for the christmas markets before all the covid stuff had kicked off. We had hoped to return this year but due to the ongoing pandemic, its probably going to be 2022 now. The hotel is located in the East of the city. We flew in Tegel and found it a long , inconvenient journey but our return flight wasout of SXF which was much more convenient so the hotel will be pretty convenient for the new Berlin airport which opens soon. The lobby was spacious, trendy and contemporary as were the guest rooms. Our room was quiet though 2 of the lads we were travelling with had rooms overlooking a trainline, so request rooms away from trains. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and we slept well . Everything felt very clean. We booked a hotel with spa facilities so had been expecting an indoor pool! disappointed that there was not one in the hotel however they did have a really relaxing spa area that had a hot whirlpool aswell as the usual saunas , so that was a nice way to chill out in the evenings after a long, cold day in Berlin! Please note however, its strictly trunks off. You have to use the area completely naked , which they say is for hygiene reasons. Although this was a little out of my comfort zone it did not detract us from enjoying the facility, I felt more embarrassed about my friends who i was travelling with having to see me naked though since we were sharing rooms we all owned up to sleeping naked anyway which no longer made it a big deal but for some guests particularly ladies it might be out of your comfort zone, so just making you aware, as its a mixed sex facility though was mainly men the two occasions that we used it which made it a little less awkward!. Breakfast was an extensive buffet which is free and had a great selection of hot and cold food that we thought was above average for a hotel buffet. Its very accesible for getting into alexanderplatz on the tram. Berlin is one of our favorate European cities, its cool, quirky and there is so much to see and do at anytime of the year. This is a great hotel and we look forward to another long weekend once all this horrible covid stuff is over. Staying safe and positive for now because we know that one day we will travel again!!!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a city break. The hotel itself was ok, it was clean it was functional without being anything special. It was a little dull is how I would describe it without anything being really wrong. The staff were fine without being friendly. The lobby is poorly planned and the staff are locked away being big columns which are terribly placed. Two criticisms, one was that the lift was out of order and hence left one lift to cater for 4 floors and during Covid times the lift was always busy and long waits were standard. The second was that the bathroom had a glass panel from the room which let light in but overlooked the toilet and I thought it a little inappropriate that someone in the room could easily watch you doing a number 2 the other side of the glass. Not ideal. For these two reasons I gave it a 3 out of 5. Poorly designed. But the location was 10/10. 100m from Checkpoint Charlie and the Topography of Terrors. Lovely pub opposite side of the road.

Our room on the 13th floor was standard category. Spartan in decor, purely functional in layout, the room was clean, the tv worked and it had a minibar plus good view . No tea or coffee making facilities but that might just be a Radisson feature. However, when I needed help in checking in on line for a flight home, the wonderful lady at the Customer Relations desk was just amazing. I never established her name, but think her surname was 'Williti'. She is absolutely a gem and patiently managed to get us check-in with EasyJet, and printed out our boarding cards. Thank you so much. My wife and I were then treated to a trip to the 37th floor to enjoy the magnificent views. It was a very kind gesture and one we won't forget. I hope Radisson Alexanderplatz management appreciate they have a star on their team.

We had a lovely stay. The rooms were stylish and very clean and quiet. The only thing missing was a tea/coffee making facility. We were impressed with the environmentally sensitive touches. We were happy to pass on the room service each day and were rewarded with a drink voucher each day. We used these for a delicious hot chocolate at bedtime on our last night. The breakfast selection was varied and of good quality. So much choice you couldn't fail to find things you wanted and there were plenty of healthy options. Our favourite was the automatic pancake maker. Gluten free options are available. There were plenty of tables and the restauraunt staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We purchased our travel day ticket each day from the reception (validate it as you get on the tram each day). The hotel is well located to access the transport system and we used the trams, underground, rural train system and buses using our ticket. We would definitely stay again. The only reason we are not awarding 5 stars is the lack of tea/ coffee making facilities. Thank you for making our time so enjoyable.

The Riu Plaza is a 4-star place owned by the Spanish Riu chain, obviously aimed primarily at business and conference people. But it's a good place to stay for holidaymakers too. - Very well located in Schöneberg, 150 metres from Wittenbergplatz (and a little further to Nollendorfplatz in the other direction), so pretty easy access on the U-bahn to almost everywhere, and only 1 stop from Zoo Garden terminal for airport buses. - large, airy rooms, with good views (we were on 16th floor), comfortable bed, excellent and spacious shower and good bathroom in general, fast lifts - a good bar, with friendly bar and wait staff, and not overpriced, just off the reception desk area - generally friendly and efficient front desk staff (but see further on) - not expensive, at least in winter; we paid only just over 100 euros a night, which is good value Its flaws are minimal, but...: - Breakfast is too expensive. Sure, it has all the usual breakfast buffet stuff, but it significantly adds to the cost of the holiday to cough up 19 euros pp each day (we stayed 4 nights). Having just come from an excellent central hotel in Lisbon, where we had an excellent breakfast for 12 euros pp each morning, it seemed excessive, so we settled for a nearby cafe each day. - Make sure you put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door each day if you don't want to get up early. The first day we were there, Monday, having arrived in Berlin at half past midnight, we were woken up at 8.45 am by a cleaner banging on the door. Happened again at the same time a couple of days later when we forgot to put the sign out. Sorry, when you're staying for 4 days, there's no reason to clean the room that early - and I blame the management, not the cleaners, who just do what they're told. - Some of the staff are a little slapdash. E.g., the kettle in our room had been ruined by an idiot previous occupant trying to use it as a coffee perculator, so there was a baked-on layer of coffee on the bottom of it. On our way out the next morning, we took it down to the front desk - the guy there actually asked us to take it back up to our room on the 16th floor, and assured us it would be replaced by the cleaners. When we returned from sightseeing 6 hours later, guess what - the ruined kettle was still there in our room. Fail! I know this is a 1st-world problem, but the original front desk guy should have just taken the kettle and organised to get it replaced. When we took it down again, this time the woman on the front desk took it from us, and a short time later a new kettle was in our room. I don't want to criticise the place too much, as it was pretty good overall and we'd stay there again. But it felt a little impersonal, and while most of the staff were excellent, some were not well-trained or motivated enough to deal properly with issues, relatively minor though our's were. Thus, it gets 4 stars, not 5.
