0.97km from 55th Ave ParkI’m all for trying out small town, non-chain places but this one is really not up to par. They tried to update it slightly with some new furniture and bedding but left the skeleton of the place still from the 70’s. Our room had an old wall heater/air conditioner (I assume they all do) and when we came in our room was freezing. We tried to adjust it before we left for the evening only to find out it wasn’t working. Called the front desk on the grubby phone in the room that if it was any older it would be a rotary (at least that would have some Charm) and they sent a guy up to get it going. Needless to say I didn’t sleep much as it was spend cooking or freezing as I had to constantly get up and re adjust the temp. The bathroom certainly wouldn’t meet the codes of today’s standards when you literally have to climb into either the 70’s tiled tub or on top of the toilet to close the door. Micro sink with no space to put anything beside. Not even a towel hanger. Only one was above the toilet (how convenient and sanitary). The shampoo and conditioner samples left there looked like they had been leftovers from somewhere and possibly used prior. The bed itself was firm and ok to sleep on. The sheets seemed clean enough. We brought our own pillows so I don’t know how they were. Carpets were decent and looked fairly clean. The door to our room wouldn’t close properly unless you lifted and pulled/pushed it. Looked like someone had broken into it at one time. Evidence of damage and replaced bolts without any maintenance. People were friendly. Complementary breakfast was one type only but decent food. Overall ok if you have no where else to go. Wouldn’t go back unless significant Reno’s were done. Spend the extra $50 to go to a chain hotel nearby.
