      Lovely resort but management has REAL issues with having there cleaning staff properly clean and disinfect the rooms. I took pictures to show the cleaning staff didn’t even wipe down or disinfect the desk in my room. The last guest’s bill (with all of there personal information) was left on the desk from the previous guest. If they didn’t even sanitize the desk, you can’t help but wonder what else wasn’t properly cleaned. This is unaccrptable during a pandemic. Also NO toilet paper was in the bathroom. Of course you do not realize it until you need it. For the price of this resort you expect a clean from and toilet paper.

      This property is central to Clearwater and Tampa. Just a short drive over the SR60 Causeway to TPA airport, which makes it easier to catch an early flight. The beaches of Clearwater Beach and Dunedin/Honeymoon Island are not far. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds, particularly in the pool courtyard, have a real Florida look. Some of the surrounding businesses look a little shabby, but this property is nice. The breakfast features a wide variety of cold and hot offerings, including waffles and eggs. Not fancy by any means, but a good comfortable stay. Be advised if traveling with someone who has mobility issues, it is a two-story property, but no elevator.

      Magnuson Hotel Clearwater Central 21252 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33765 Hotel While staying at the Magnuson Hotel in Clearwater on June 1 2021 I severely cut my foot on a protruding sharp metal piece of the bed frame as I was walking by the bed. As a result, my foot was cut and severely bruised. I informed the front desk and told them what had happened. The reaction from the front desk uncaring but after showing them my bleeding foot, I convinced them to pay for a taxi to Largo Medical Center. The front staff discussed the scenario with the Manager and she had given authorization for the taxi and the medical treatment. Today, on August 29,2021 I went to the Magnus Hotel to hand deliver the medical bill for almost $ 4000 and we were met by a belligerent Hotel manager. The tall blonde middle aged lady accused me of doing this at her other hotels throughout the United States. She accused me of running a scam although I have never visited any of her other hotels. She made a copy of the medical bill and then proceeded to shout for us to leave her Hotel. My paralegal friend made a recording of her abusive behavior which was completely uncalled for. My advice to any tourists visiting Clearwater is to steer clear of this horrible hotel. Unless you enjoy staying in a meth head and ********** infested Hotel you can find a much nicer place to stay for a few dollars more. The tall female blonde manager is rude and a horrible excuse for a Hotel manager. Stay at the Magnus Hotel in Clearwater at your own risk

      This property should be ashamed of itself for the absolutely poor condition that rooms were given were in. There were burns in the carpet, missing woodwork and overall smell in both rooms. We had to change our first room as there was too much noise from the highway. The second room at a $9 premium by the pool had one door that did not open and other than two large screen tvs and well worn couches offered nothing but sleeping accommodations. I realize that it is hard in these times to keep up with repairs and looks but this was clearly a poor place to stay. I only stayed because a friend purportedly stayed here but it must have been another clarion in Clearwater . Not a good choice at all

      My daughter, her friend and I stayed one night while in town for a High School Regional swim meet. From calling to adjust the reservation name to our check-out experience, the service has been superb! Location is right on US 19 - everything is within a 5 min drive - grocery, target, gas, food. Beaches are just 10 minutes down the road. The value was great for the location and service. Check-in was a breeze and when we got to our room, which was supposed to be two queen beds, there were two rooms - a king bed/ bathroom in one room and two queen beds/bathrooms in the other. Had no idea we were getting an upgrade and it was just perfect! Beds/pillows were comfortable, the extra shade on the windows made for a nice, dark night for sleeping, and while you could hear the traffic outside, it wasn’t enough to disturb our sleep - but we are not light sleepers so this may be an issue for some. Extra outlets and charging ports on both sides of bed with the nightstand. Fridge/microwave and Keurig (w/coffee and tea all set out for us) were available. Bathrooms were updated and clean - water pressure a little low but hardly worth mentioning. The King room just had so much space-if a rollaway was needed, it wouldn’t seem to even crowd the room. Breakfast was decent - the staff did a great job of serving everyone. Since it’s COVID times, it’s not a buffet style as usual. During our stay, breakfast was eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, milk, coffee - maybe more options but I didnt’ ask. Dining area was open so it was nice to sit and eat there rather than on the run. Every interaction with the staff exceeded our expectations! They were friendly, easy to talk to and so kind. We even requested a later checkout so we could return after the swim meet to shower before heading out and it was granted without hesitation. We were so grateful! We so enjoyed our stay, wished we had booked 2 nights instead of 1! We look forward to returning as a family when in the area again.
