The Hotel is well located literally a block and a half from the pedestrian zone. The interior was fresh and clean. My room was spacious and clean as well. Everything worked. My problem began with arrival. Upon check-in I was told that the parking was public and close by but not "on-site". I was told that you could not make a U-turn on the street. Therefore, I had to put a word into my GPS and it would make me take a serious of turns etc.; but that it was close. Twenty five minutes later I had parked. A very nerve racking twenty five minutes ( during the Christmas market ). Why am I explaining, because the parking is in a public garage literally on the back side of the block across the street from the Hotel. But, due to the "'slack" directions it was a nightmare finding. Not helpful service!

What a disappointment - the last night of our holiday and we were arriving into Aachen after a long days driving. We had booked the hotel due to its central location and private on-site parking but when we arrived we were told that the hotel has no parking and was issued a piece of paper with the names of local car parks - none affiliated with the hotel so we had to pay and walk 10 minutes back to the hotel. Annoyingly when we checked out, a different member of staff apologised and said that there was in fact parking at the hotel both around the back and underground. The room had no AC or ventilation and was incredibly hot & humid. We tried to keep the windows open but the noise from revellers on the streets and noisy cars until the very early hours meant that this wasn’t possible and we got no sleep whatsoever. There were soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall but both were empty. Water left in the kettle from the previous occupant and powered milk to make coffee with! The breakfast tasted good but service was hurried even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. No wi-fi, or if there was there were no details of the log in etc. A real shame as it’s a modern hotel in the right part of town but it was the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had.

We have switched our stays in Aachen to Novotel few years ago as although there is nothing impressive about Novotel - customer service was excellent. Although I was only Silver accor member they would unexpectedly upgrade us to suite, another time leave nice fruit basket as „thank you” for loyalty and were generally very welcoming. Since covid started this property gives me worse experience each time. In Aug 20 there were cleaning issues. This time they failed to provide what you pay extra for in executive room - bathrobes (was only one, when I chased they brought another bathrobe but no sleepers), „free minibar” meant one evian water and you could request more from the bar except it was open only the night we arrived. We wanted to use our drink voucher on Sun - bar was shut again! Please tell people when bar is open when you give them vouchers. I complained about it to young male receptionist upon check out. He was really defenisive and gave us horrible check out experience. We eventually got 2 colas upon check out for no minibar and welcome drink experience??? I am gold member now: it has not even been mentioned by reception once nor did I have any on property benefits. I am done with this hotel: next time I will book into Mercure. I was happy to spend my money here for few years but not anymore. Customer service is unacceptable plus you pay extra for executive room and don’t get what you should on booking confirmation. Corner toom was freezing! I don’t recommend staying in one of these during the winter months.

We were looking for a hotel within easy walking distance to the old city. And with a good breakfast. Innside was modern and comfortable. The rooftop breakfast was good with a great view. Note that the restaurant and rooftop bar are closed Sunday and Monday. We were given a choice of room on the quiet side, or city view. Our fourth floor city view room was great, but a lower floor would not be much of a view. Front desk staff was quick, friendly snd helpful with directions, suggestions and reservations. The city has great charm, history and the Christmas market was wonderful.

Excellent value for money. The hotel is located near the Aachen Railway Station. From the train station, turn right and take the 1-200 meter. Very convenient, we lived in the twin standard room, originally thought that near the train station, the price is relatively civilian, the hotel environment will be average. When checking in, I saw that the lobby on the first floor was spacious and bright, with various facilities, billiards, many sofas and small round tables, bookshelves, ATM machines, coffee machines, freezers, and bar counters. Both yellow postboxes can accept international postcards. The problem is that the check-in time is 3 pm, early arrival, you can put in the luggage room. The room is wider than the city, at least much better than Paris, the sanitation is also very good, the bathroom is hygienic and bright. There are hand sanitizers, two-in-one bath, bath towels, and sheets, but other comments say that these things seem to be incomplete in the dormitory room, I am not sure. In addition, there is no air conditioning in the room, the bathroom is a natural exhaust vent, and there is no exhaust fan. We checked in at the beginning of October and had no effect. It is estimated that there is no problem in winter and there is heating in the bathroom and the room. I want to clarify a problem. Although I am squatting at the train station, I don’t feel the noise of the train when I close the window at night, or the train noise is not as big as some netizens said. Maybe some girls have poor sleep quality. Also, Chinese restaurants can be found nearby. We have been to two cities, namely City Garden and Jinlong Hotel. The city garden is about 15 minutes walk from the buffet hot pot. One person is 19.8 Euros, the dishes are complete, the drinks are free, we both Drinking two large bottles of Sprite, his home cooking is not expensive, a dish is about 13 euros, the price of vegetarian dishes is almost the same, as long as the order, it is free to provide rice, rice is not limited, the amount of food is enough for our northeast boys eat. Jinlong Hotel, walking distance is also about fifteen minutes, cooking is one or two euros more expensive than the city garden, the environment is very good, there are roast duck. From the hotel to Aachen University of Technology, a taxi is about 13 Euros, and the bus is 2.7 Euros per person.

Even if there was nothing to do with the accommodation itself, I still have our stay in a imaginably bad memory. Without being informed about dinner times, we arrived at night a few minutes after 19.00 hour to learn that the booked dinner is unfortunately no longer available. (The following day the dinner times were then open from 18.00 clock and 19.15 clock!) Then the dinner was no longer cancelled. And the request to get a lunch package next day was also rejected. Citated: "They should pay that then." That fits in the picture. For our reservation for 1 adult and 3 children was calculated for 4 adults. This was changed only on demand. But this jugi seems to me to have their financial experience. Incomes to give more interest than satisfied customers. There then also the wishes of the reception for a "nice stay" after check-in are a little perverse. We will certainly not see each other again ...

We stayed one night for Christmas Market, as a family of three - we booked a triple room and it was perfect for our needs. Close to the station, self-service luggage storage, quiet part of town (no construction work took place over Sat/Sun) and limited, but very friendly service. The room itself is a comfortable size with a good amount of storage space. The room and the hotel in general is basic, but spotless. Linen and towels were nice and fresh and beds were comfortable. There is no AC in the room, but it does have heating. Breakfast is also basic, but good value for money. We would recommend as a clean and comfortable place to sleep, shower and have breakfast for a short stay. Very good value for money.

We stayed at this hotel during the weekend to visit Aachen's Christmas Market. The hotel looked very well maintained and very clean. The staff are friendly. I find the price a bit too high for what the actual room offers. There were 4 of us and they provided 2 singles beds and a sofa bed. There were drinks in fridge but it wasn't very clear to us if it was included or not. A bottle of wine was on the table with a price tag but the other drinks did not specify any price. If it was included in the price, then its a bit dissappointing because we would have not bought drinks from outside. It is advertised as a 4star hotel however, they do not provide slippers nor toothbrush. If I am not mistaken, you have to pay extra for it which is weird because being a 4 star hotel, this amenities should be complimentary. I sent an email prior to our arrival asking about the breakfast price. I was told that it costs €14- per person if you book it on check in. We were not asked about it when we checked so we asked it in the evening and they said it is €19- per person. Very overpriced considering Aachen is not an expensive city so we decided not to have it. I found the discrepancy dissappointing. Unless there is no other options, I would not consider going back.

We had a lovely stay in Parkhotel Quellenhof in Aachen. We’ve been to the city plenty of times, but always just for the day. This time we really enjoyed spending a few days there. The hotel has a true ‘grandeur’, and despite having its age, it’s very clean and timeless. The swimming pool and spa area are a big plus. And the bar has a classy and intimate atmosphere. The best thing about this hotel though, is its staff: all very helpful and professional. From the receptionists, to the talented barman, the friendly cleaning ladies, and all restaurant staff - both breakfast and dinner service, all did their very best to make us feel at home and relaxed. A special mention to two staff members: The restaurant manager who has a special flair, balancing an informal yet professional approach with an obviously big knowledge of both hospitality and quality of presentation and organisation. He really defines the restaurant as it is, bravo for that! Lauryn, who was impeccable. We learnt she had recently started working in the restaurant after finishing her learning internship. That’s truly amazing, as she’s already adapted to the soul of the restaurant service, adding her own personality and doing a great job in both communication as well as helping us with choosing the best dishes and wine. A hotel like this reminds us of the true soul of a hotel: professionals doing everything they can to make your holiday as comfortable and relaxing as possible. So a big THANK YOU, and till our next visit in Aachen! M&M

Absolutely marvelous! I have traveled to 38 countries in my life and have stayed in countless hostels around the world. Hostel Aachen is not my all-time favorite - but it is pretty close! I took a weekend getaway to Aachen while living in Germany. I booked Hostel Aachen because it was a good price and the location was well-reviewed. I quickly learned that this place is a hidden gem! The staff are EXCEPTIONAL - complimentary and responsive! I was given a private room, free of charge. Towels were provided to me at no extra cost. The room was clean and had a large window. The showers and bathrooms were EXTREMELY clean (not just for a hostel, but for a hotel). Facilities were also well-maintained. The building also features a lovely patio area for eating and smoking and a very large lounge area, with a kitchen (fully stocked with tea, coffee, utensils, and dishes), a large, 20-person dining table, a small kitchen table, and even a work desk and lounge love seats. The amenities are wonderful, but the best part is the staff. I was fully accommodated my entire stay and wanted for nothing - my questions about places to eat, means of travel, sites to see, and things to do were all answered promptly and with great detail. And the staff is simply simpatico. I extended my stay an extra day! Oh, and the location is ridiculous! You can walk 10 minutes to the main square or take a bus 5 minutes or a scooter for 3 minutes. And the train station is literally across the street! Unbelievable! If anything, There is a train station across the street, which means trains do pass by in the night. But I was able to sleep with no problems. This just may be a concern for people with trouble sleeping.

I was there during the pandemic so the hotel was not full. Well located, very clean, friendly people. Nice parking place. The wifi is very good. I liked that they asked me if i am vaccinated against COVID or i have a negative covid test and i felt very safe because i know they did the same with all guests. Because the pandemic was no breakfast but there is a gas station near the hotel and you can buy from there coffee or some skacks.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days while helping our son move to Aachen from a different part of Germany. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient as it is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, and about 15 minute walk to both our son's new apartment in the Frankenberger neighborhood and also to the old town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Panayoti who spoke very good English and explained all the charges on our hotel bill clearly. The breakfast offered a variety of healthy choices and fresh baked goods and was reasonably priced. The hotel felt very safe both in terms of Covid precautions and security at night time when returning late. The only thing I felt was not quite up to my expectations were the flat pillows and firm beds. I prefer fluffier pillows and a softer bed, but it was comfortable enough for the length of our stay. When I return to Aachen, I will not hesitate to book a stay at this hotel again.

We stayed one night on our way home from France and had 2 double rooms booked. We found them to be spacious and clean - in fact they were really great. The hotel was easy to find from the motorway. The personnel was very kind and helpful. Checking in and out went smoothly. The breakfast was fine and just what we needed to start the day. Within walking distance (5 minutes), theres a steak/burger restaurant and an italian restaurant - we tried the latter of the two and it was quite good. Theres also a Burger King just across the street from the hotel. All in all a good experience and we will not hesitate to book another night here. And we can strongly recommend it for others as well.

The hotel is very friendly and is very friendly and is very friendly and we have been trying the "picture card". what they offered ... it depane ... but it's all: 2 tranches of bread, butter, 2 tranches of mortar, salami and white jambon, and a strange paste genre in the form of cocktail sauce for 11euros, bof bof. It was nice weekend in Aachen, but BIG disappointment regarding swimming pool. It is not swimming pool - more like "pond" hahahha there was dinning tables around, noooot place for relaxing swimming 🤦🏼‍♀️ Rooms was just after opening -than why was not really cleaned good -dust inside the closet, stains on the glass from the shower or hairs on the carpet ..... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Fridge in the room was not working ! Chocolate left on the table was overdate. Breakfast, a specially in the Sunday- terrible! For this price there was not even croissant?!? Not much to eat -regarding variety. Dinner, tasted like salt mine 😆😆 it was impossible to eat hahaha I did asked for late checkout, around 15:00, answer - extra pay 25€ .... seriously? in time when hotel is informing guest that the rooms gonna be clean after 24h from checkout, we couldn't get free 3h ? We stayed for 3 nights in December and thought the hotel was as we expected before our arrival for the price we paid. Check in was easy and efficient from the receptionist who was friendly even though our coach driver had been having a blazing row with the owner less than an hour before because they wouldn't lay an evening meal on for us?? We already knew this and had booked a restaurant in town accordingly. After dropping our bags off in our room we then had to go back to reception and ask them if they could book us a taxi into town which we were a bit apprehensive about due to the earlier arguments. We needn't have been. Any time we needed any help phoning taxis, restaurants, etc the front of house staff could not have been more helpful and the blonde lady was always happy and friendly. The hotel was always warm, our room was nice with a comfy bed and the shower always had hot water. We had a drink in the bar area on our way out each night but never tried the restaurant as you're never going to get the same experience in a hotel as in a local restaurant so we just can't see the point of travelling hundreds of miles to sit in a hotel when there are always other options. The only meal we did have in the hotel was breakfast and there was plenty of everything, warm or cold and was more than acceptable. We bid auf weidesehen for our journey home early on the Monday morning and the owner was outside making sure we departed on time after the shenanigans from our driver and a few of the passengers who will doubtless complain about anything as it obviously makes their holiday better??? Weird. We finally arrived back in Reading services to be told by the next driver who was bringing us on the last leg of our journey that he hates taking people to the hotel we had just paid hundreds of pounds to stay in because he always has problems there?? What a great advert for Edwards coaches these drivers are especially as we didn't experience any problems at all apart from ones created by our driver.

I stayed here with my husband whilst driving back to the UK. I really chose it as it would mean we wouldn't have to drive too far into the centre of the city as we were only staying one night. The staff were all very friendly and the room was nice. There's not a lot in the area, mainly pizza and take away restaurants but it's not far into the main part of the city. Parking is good for the hotel, secure. Although it is a little confusing when you arrive as its not well sign posted and the street is one way and can be busy. We did not have the breakfast but were able to have coffee and take away fruit which was nice. All in all a fine place to stay.
