Lovely country house hotel on the southern edge of Aberdeen with easy access to city. Welcoming hotel with a very traditional feel in the main building. Bedrooms are modern and our Standard room was well equipped with a large double bed and plenty of tea coffee etc. The hotel is dog friendly for a small charge. We had lovely cooked breakfasts and continental also available. We ate breakfast in the drawing room, as dogs understandably not allowed in main restaurant. We only ate in the bar area one evening which was cosy and fast service. Friendly staff and nice touch of a Birthday platter delivered to room in recognition of a significant Birthday being celebrated.

The small sink is so cute! !! If you catch a flight the next day, it is a good choice for classmates and parents. A 10-minute walk from the hotel to the airport is very convenient, and you can get up late in the morning. [Location] The hotel is next to Aberdeen Airport, 10 minutes away. If you enter the city, take a taxi: 01224 494949, which is about 15-20 pounds. The bus is also very convenient. It takes 727 to walk for 3 minutes, and the one-way fare is 3.5 pounds. [Health] Very clean hotel [Value for money] High value for money, newer equipment, the cheapest Courtyard hotel in the UK is 600 yuan a night (may be slightly more expensive in November, winter and summer) [wifi] Wi-Fi is free [Room size] The room size is normal, not big, but not small. Two people will not feel crowded when staying. Better than too many European Hiltons. [Parking] You can park downstairs [Service] The ladies at the front desk are so warm and tender that they can melt into their sweet smiles. When you stay in Scotland for a long time, you will have a glass heart. Because the Scottish people are too enthusiastic, London will not, and the front desk will not answer (not for the Chinese but for everyone).

We had the most wonderful holistic facial treatment and bank massage. Nikki and Leanne are just lovely and very very good at what they do. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, relaxed and in safe hands! One of the best Spa Treatments we have ever had. Thank you Nikki and Leanne! Note: It is a small spa with treatment rooms and relaxation rooms however there isn’t a pool, sauna, hot tub etc. We were aware of this before we got there so not a problem for us but just putting this here for info for others because we found it hard to find this information on the website.

On arriving at reception to check in on Saturday, the reception staff found that I had booked the room for previous night [Friday] and this had in turn been documented as a No Show. The staff were helpful in offering an alternative room- there were no Stanard King Rooms left for the Saturday Night, only the Apartment Suites. We thanked them and left, stating we would try and find something else. Naturally, I became upset on leaving after making such a mistake- When outside heading back to the car, the Booking Manager (i think his name was Barry) approached us and said he would have a look and see if he could help. He was able to move our booking from the Friday to the Saturday for no extra cost, and also upgraded us to the Apartment Suite free of charge. We were so grateful and appreciative for his help and he saved our weekend so we could continue to celebrate my Birthday as we had planned. The room was spacious and comfortable with a kitchenette, bathroom with over bath shower, king size bed and a fridge amongst the facilities available. 5 stars all round

The Britannia Hotel feels like it wouldn't be out of place on the Blackpool promenade. It is run down and in desperate need of upgrading/repairs, but still somehow clings on. It seems to be a place for insomniacs, given the amount of noise experienced during my stay. At least the guy in the room next door got a good kip - I could hear him snoring through the wall! Breakfast was... puzzling. Weekend serving starts at 7:30am, but most of the cooked items appeared to have been sitting out for some time before that. Not so much bacon as pork jerky. Both coffee machines were very much a law unto themselves and getting a decent fruit juice from that machine was a contest worthy of The Crystal Maze. It was too difficult for me. The room was tidy enough, and the bed was comfy even though the sheets felt a little papery. I didn't sleep well, but it wasn't because of that. There was no way to have a shower without flooding the bathroom. Perhaps, as part of future upgrades, wet rooms might be considered. I am saddened to report that I inadvertently drowned a spider that, I assume, had been hiding behind the toilet. There are other plumbing issues too, given the constant attempts by another guest to flush their toilet throughout the night. The staff seemed friendly enough, and that's always a plus point. I'm not sure it's enough of a reason to stay here again though. The nearby 24hr Budgens is definitely a bigger draw and seems popular with the insomniacs. Two stars because, at the end of the day, the hotel performed its primary function - giving me somewhere to stay overnight for work.

This was my first visit to this hotel and I was very impressed. It was less than 10 minutes from the train station, and seconds away from Union Street, so right in the centre of Aberdeen. The front door isn't very impressive, but after that everything was very presentable. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful.

I recently attended a big Scottish wedding at this hotel, staying for 4 nights' I can't recommend this place highly enough & the entire experience was superb. The ambience was perfect, the whole place had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, he bedrooms were huge & superb & the food was excellent. The wedding event went like clockwork for the entire day & the families of the lovely couple said that everyone involved with them from the hotel just couldn't do enough to ensure that everything was just perfect. Cant wait to attend any christenings there in the future.

Long overdue review that is actually the culmination of multiple return visits which is testament in itself to the hotel itself, value for money, the staff attentiveness and level of service, hotel amenities and central but quiet location which is ideal for striking out across Aberdeen and the NE of Scotland. From booking process, pre arrival correspondence, arrival and check in, personalised room preparation and amenities as standard, very spacious and spotless room itself, relaxed drink in the bar at night and fantastic breakfast every morning to effortless checkout, couldn't fault anything. Friendly, professional and efficient service from beginning to end. Personal touches made us feel welcome, wanted and valued. See you again soon !!

Arrived late afternoon after a 7 hour road journey. Entered the car park to find several vehicles occupying 2 spaces and no vacant space. Parked in a bay (which i learnt later was for housekeeping trolleys) to go to reception and find out where to park. Was told, “no you can’t park there, there’s double yellow lines”. “You can park in the multi-storey car park” waving her arms in some direction. When told that the website states free parking, the receptionist told me that’s wrong, “we have limited free parking”. We immediately left, this is not what i expect from any hotel hotel let alone an IHG one. BTW it states “free car parking” on many websites for this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for business and pleasure trip. We had booked a double room with breakfast. Upon arrival, I noticed that the staff were wearing masks, established that they had a COVID case, some staff members were sick thus there was no bar or restaurant service. We were given room 211, it was filthy, went back to reception and given another room. Had to wait ages and as there was only one lift that operated at snail speed. Again, the second room was very basic, small, dated, small tight bathroom, very warm as the heater was full on and it did not match the photographs on Mercure website. I have stayed at other Mercure hotels before but this was something else. No bathrobes, no fancy bed coverings as in the illustrated pictures. This is NOT a four-star hotel as claimed, three stars maximum. There is a safe. Tea and coffee making facilities that do not get replenished biscuits on the first night only. Double bed that was smaller in comparison to other hotels. The TV has Freeview channels of which some did not work. No proper desk to work on. At night-time, there is so much noise from outside. This hotel needs modernising and a good clean. No wonder the hotel had a COVID case as the cleaning standards are low. Breakfast was average, sausages undercooked, eggs overcooked, not much choice of the cold section, no rolls only bread and limited fruit. Transport: From Aberdeen airport catch the 727 to Union Square which has the central bus station and railway station. It is a ten-minute walk to the hotel. Transport system is good but there was a rail strike on one of the days. The hotel is in a good location. There are lots of local places to eat especially at Union Square.

The room was clean as it always has been when we've used the Moxy in the past but there was no white wine of any sort available in the bar and not much choice of spirits which was put down to COVID ? A few weeks after our stay a demand for £100 in parking fees arrived in the post or £60 for prompt payment. We told staff we had our car parked on arrival and paid for this at checkout. Despite this, we had to prove to the parking company that we had paid instead of them checking with the hotel. After proving we had paid we received another letter more or less saying it was our fault we received the incorrect demand in the first place because we used their car park, with no apology for the bogus demand. Underhand methods designed to frighten people into paying a ”fine” for something they've already paid for means that we will not use the Moxy again.

The room and furnishings are basic but new. The staff were friendly. There are very bright green lights in the room, emergency lights I suspect, that could not be switch off and made sleeping difficult. The pillows were very hard, hardest I have ever encountered and caused back and shoulder stiffness each day I stayed there. The room was also not cleaned during my stay, towels and breakfast forms not replenished. It was ok for a few nights but a budget hotel rather than a boutique hotel. I will stay elsewhere next time for more comfort and room servicing.

Booked this hotel whilst on a business trip to Aberdeen and usually like the Village hotel brand. The hotel itself is a modern village style hotel. We arrived late on a Sunday evening and the first experience with a staff member on reception wasn't great and a really abrupt check in. Was allocated a room on the first floor, 123. The room itself was nicely decorated and perfectly adequate. The issue came at 5:30am the next morning when incredibly loud bangs and noises were heard in the room. I thought it coild just be another guest above me getting up, but these noises continued and got louder. Then I looked at some reviews and realised I was right above the gym and multiple guest had suffered the same misfortune. The view from the window was also nonexistent and looked out directly on a small gravel area and then another wall. Hardly a great view of Aberdeen. The same staff member was on reception leading to a very unapologetic conversation regarding changing room for my final night. Was advised to sort when I returned in the evening. Thankfully a different staff member in the evening and the room was changed to a room on the 4th floor. Thankfully there was now a view, if you take out the huge gym roof. Hoping for no noise, I settled back down but then I woke at 6am and was still about to hear pumping music and the obvious sound of a gym instructor - from the 4th floor. I did have my window open for fresh air but even so - I was 4 floors up! Maybe it's an issue for all rooms facing the gym roof, not sure if the rooms the other side might have even better? Don't think I'll stay again!

We were put up here for 1 night by Tui after our flight was delayed. All the formalities were completed remotely by Tui ahead of our arrival for ourselves and numerous other delayed passengers. Upon arrival at the hotel we were met with very friendly and accommodating staff who were aware of the bookings and also advised us of all our meal entitlements from Tui. At least 3 members of staff gave us their full attention and they were all remarkably efficient, professional and warm to deal with. Our room was outstanding and much more than we expected. It was very modern and all the fittings were solid and well installed. The ensuite bathroom was equally superb and could not have been improved upon in any way. The reception and restaurant area was very well designed and decorated and was such a fabulous place to sit. We had an evening meal and breakfast there and both were first class. Really good service from all the staff too. They were never overstretched or appearing stressed out. Such a relaxing atmosphere. For a single unexpected night here it wasn’t needed to be anything special but it still made a huge impression on us. We were left fascinated by every little detail as it was truly very impressive that everything appeared to be well thought out and put together. I would quite confidently say that this is the most enjoyable hotel stay I have ever had here in the UK for your routine airport/work/short notice stay over. It is far better than all the others in this area which I have tried and I would certainly recommend to anyone. I plan to book a stay with parking here for our next holiday in May and I’ll be looking forward to it as much as the actual holiday, cannot wait. Thanks to all the staff there who looked after us so well during such a stressful time.
